Allow JSP to use HTTPS

Hello,
I have an application built up using 20-25 JSP pages. I have no beans, its just a very basic and simple application using only JSPs.
Out of these JSPs, I want 2 JSPs to be called over the HTTPS protocol in place of HTTP.
Can anybody tell me how to do that. All my JSPs are in the same directory on the webserver and to call a JSP, on the click of SUBMIT, I am just specifying the name of JSP to be called. In other words, I am not hard coding the URL, PORT and the Context-root anywhere.
Please post your valuable inputs.
Thanks

Hello again,
I found one more solution to the HTTPS problem.
Seems like now we can do it in two ways, first way is described in this forum, and the second way is to add this to the web.xml:
<security-constraint>
     <web-resource-collection>
          <web-resource-name>Automatic SSL Forwarding</web-resource-name>
          <url-pattern>name of jsp</url-pattern>
     </web-resource-collection>
     <user-data-constraint>
          <transport-guarantee>
               CONFIDENTIAL
          </transport-guarantee>
     </user-data-constraint>
</security-constraint>
I used this technique, the URL is formed correct now (the URL contains https in place of http), but when I try to go the page, it gives me:
Method Not Allowed
An error has occurred
Anybody here have any idea why i am getting this?? I tried to switch the methods also: post/get and viceversa, the problem still exists.
Pls post ur feedback
thanks

  • Problem Using HTTP Dispatcher -- Could Not able to get the data in JSP

    Hi, I am using HTTP Dispatcher to send my events to particular URL which is a JSP page. I am trying to populate the received event through URL and populate to a oracle data base. But could not able to get the data in Oracle database.
    Code is :
    <h1>JSP Page</h1>
    <%
    long type = 0;
    String tagId = null;
    String timeStr = "0";
    String deviceName = "";
    // Get Event Parameters
    // Available Parameters: id, siteName, deviceName, data, time, type, subtype, sourceName, correlationId
    try
    type = Long.parseLong(request.getParameter("type")); // Get type
    tagId = request.getParameter("id"); // Get tagId
    timeStr = request.getParameter("time"); // Get time
              deviceName = request.getParameter("deviceName");
    catch (Exception e)
    out.println( "Error: "+e.getMessage() );
              // Write into DB.
              try {
              if ((tagId == null) || (type != 200) ){
                   // Do Nothing

    HI Prabhat,
    Thanx for your reply, I worked out and able to receive the data in oracle database, Actually there was some problem in insert Query. Now I have tested the same... and able to edit the same in the Database.....
    But I am facing a new problem, Http Dispatcher in SES console is displaying all the Events generated as well as event in Que but there is no events in the Event Send. I guess it is not able to send the events.....?????
    Event statical is showing like this
    Events Received: 0 (0.00/sec)
    Events Generated: 311 (0.19/sec)
    Events Sent: 2 (0.19/sec)
    Queued Events: 309 (0.19/sec)
    Kindly suggest where is the problem, Is it a JSP problem or OSES end problem.....
    Thanks and regards
    Nasim

    As the [HTML specification|http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/interact/forms.html] states, you should be setting the enctype to multipart/form-data to be able to upload files to the server. In the server side, you need to process the multipart/form-data binary stream by parsing the HttpServletRequest#getInputStream(). It is a lot of work to get it to work flawlessly. There are 3rd party API's around which can do that for you, such as [Apache Commons FileUpload|http://commons.apache.org/fileupload] (carefully read the User Guide how to use it).
    You can also consider to use a Filter which makes use of the FileUpload API to preprocess the request so that you can continue writing the servlet code as usual. Here is an example: [http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/11/multipartfilter.html].

    That indicates a hardware failure. Read here:

    If nothing works, you most likely have a hardware failure. Make an appointment at an Apple store to confirm.

  • How to invoke a web service using https

    Hi,
    I have a few security related questions surrounding BPEL process manager.
    1. Does the BPEL engine have the capability to invoke a web service using https (HTTP over SSL)? Does it automatically do that if partner link URI starts with https:// ?
    2. If not, what needs to be done to enable accessing a https based web service?
    3. I need to write a web service that accepts a message and updates certain information in the database. The web service will be deployed in an OC4J instance in Oracle App Server. We want to allow the web service to be accessed from BPEL only by users registered in the database. What is the recommended way to pass username and password to a webservice if service is invoked from BPEL process manager? Note that specifying username/password in bpel.xml is not an option.
    Thanks,
    Pranav

    1. Does the BPEL engine have the capability to invoke a web service using https (HTTP over SSL)? Does it automatically do that if partner link URI starts with https:// ?
    We currently don't have support for HTTP over SSl. We are working on it to include this functionality in near future.
    2. If not, what needs to be done to enable accessing a https based web service?
    I am not sure it is possible with current product offering. I will confirm it after discussing with our concerned development group. There is some work going to integrate with Oblix security mechanism [recently acquired by Oracle].

    This will be easier to do if we can use Oblix along with BPEL PM. Could you please let us know more about your application so that we can provide you the customized solution till it's part of the product. You can send this query to [email protected] so that our product management team can give you more detailed roadmap regarding this.

  • Calling Web Service from EJB using HTTP Client

    Hi,
    Scenario:
    I need to Call a Web Service from an EJB Application.I used HttpClient for calling the Web Service in the EJB Application. When i call the execute method of the HttpCLient it throws an exception
    The element type "META" must be terminated by the matching end-tag "</META>"
    The input XML does not have a node called META.
    When i call the Web Service using Http Client form an Java Application it is working fine.
    Kindly Suggest me the changes/steps that needs to be done
    Regards,
    S.V.Satish Kumar

    Hi Manish,
    SOAP adapter does pass the message to XI (this message contains SOAP envelope although XI expects to get message without it), and during the mapping step i get "Runtime Exception in Message-Mapping transformatio~".
    I suppose it's because i created proxy manually. I did so because when i imported WSDL, and tried to generate proxy in CRM, i got an error message that said that proxy couldn't be generated because external definitions are only allowed in XI 3. But my XI version is 3.0! And when I generate the same proxy in my R/3 system that is installed on WAS 640, it works.
    What can I do?
    Cheers,
    Anya.

    I had very similar problems with adding the correct JDeveloper .jar files to Tomcat's lib folder, but did eventually resolve my issues.
    The problem I am having now, however, is the following error message:
    Error Message: oracle.jbo.html.RequestParameters.addParameter(Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/String;)V
    Yes, I have deployed the bc4jhtml.jar file from JDeveloper to Tomcat\common\lib!
    My web-app is a very simple BC4J JSP application. I have one BC4J component in its own project and JAR file, and one JSP referencing that BC4J component - I deploy the BC4J JAR along with the WAR file from the JSP project. Needless to say, the JSP works fine within JDeveloper..!
    I'm using JDev 9.0.3 and Tomcat 4.1.12. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    S.

  • Policy agent using https redirect to AM for authentication

    We are using Access Manager 6 2005Q1.
    Access Manager is running on box A & box B using the Sun Web Server as its front end web server. Box A & B both have a complete install of Sun Web Server, Access Manager, and Directory Server. The Directory servers are set up to replicate changes between each other. Our Policy Agents are running on box C & box D under the Apache web servers.
    Users will access applications on box C/D via https. The policy agents on box C/D should redirect the user to box A/B (via a load balancer VIP)for authentication. The redirect will be https. Once authenticated the user should be redirected back to box C/D.
    All subsequent communications between the Agents on box C/D to AM on box A/B (via load balancer VIP) are http.
    Our load balancer is currently setup as active/failover because it does not support ssl with cookies.
    In our AMAgent.properties file if I set 'com.sun.am.policy.am.loginURL = http://<lb-vip>:80/amserver/UI/Login' and access box C/D as https://<webserver>/<url> I am redirected to AM on box A/B for authentication. Once authenticated I am redirected back to box C/D and allowed access to <url>.
    However, if I set 'com.sun.am.policy.am.loginURL = https://<lb-vip>:443/amserver/UI/Login' and access box C/D as https://<webserver>/<url> I am NOT redirected to AM and receive 'Forbidden You don't have permission to access /<url> on this server. Also in the agent log file I see:
         2006-01-30 12:42:30.792 Debug 28126:203470 PolicyAgent: in_not_enforced_list():enforcing access control for https://<webserver>:443/<url>
         2006-01-30 12:42:30.792 Debug 28126:203470 PolicyAgent: am_web_is_access_allowed https://<webserver>:443/<url>S, GET) no sso token, setting status to invalid session.
         2006-01-30 12:42:30.792 Debug 28126:203470 PolicyAgent: Policy Agent: am_web_is_access_allowed returned status=invalid session
         2006-01-30 12:42:32.800 Warning 28126:203470 PolicyAgent: am_web_get_redirect_url() unable to find active Identity Server Auth server.
         2006-01-30 12:42:32.800 Info 28126:203470 PolicyAgent: do_redirect(): Status Code= invalid session.
    Interestingly if I set 'com.sun.am.policy.am.loginURL = https://<am-server>:443/amserver/UI/Login' and access box C/D as https://<webserver>/<url> I am redirected to AM on box A/B for authentication. Once authenticated I am redirected back to box C/D and allowed access to <url>. In this scenario the only difference is I am bypassing the load balancer.
    Our networking people have monitored the load balancer in front of our AM boxes A/B and see the traffic going to AM in all cases.
    From my standpoint it appears the agent is not able to successfully connect to AM via https when going through the load balancer.
    Any help with this configuration issue is appreciated.

    Bernhard,
    From our AMAgent.properties... com.sun.am.policy.agents.version=2.1. Is there a way for me to tell if this is truely only 2.1 or 2.1-xx?
    Because our LB does not support SSL with cookies we are currently configured as active/failover so all requests are going to the same AM server until it goes down, at which time I know users have to re-authenticate. Also we have set "com.sun.am.loadBalancer_enable = true" in AMAgent.properties.
    We understand your point about loginURL. Infact there are two properties dealing with loginURL, com.sun.am.policy.am.loginURL and com.sun.am.policy.am.library.loginURL. Based on the comments in AMAgent.properties my understanding is that com.sun.am.policy.am.loginURL is where the user is redirected for login when no valid SSO token is found and com.sun.am.policy.am.library.loginURL is what the agent uses to authenticate itself "If the previously specified login URL must be exclusively used for redirecting users..." The interesting part is that if we set com.sun.am.policy.am.loginURL to use http everything works just fine, however if we set it to use https the user never gets redirected. Its almost like the agent is trying to connect there first before doing the redirect and can not.

    I am attempting to use JavaScript to implement a connector from CS3 (InDesign/InCopy in my case) to our content management system. Our CMS provides an HTTP-based API. By using the HttpConnection object (from the Bridge code, see posts on "httpwebaccess library") I can access our repository using HTTP URLs and, for example, get an InDesign document or INX file (and the UI support in CS3 scripting makes it possible for me to build all the UI components I need without having to write a true plugin).
    However, what I *can't* seem to do is create Link objects that use a URL, rather than a File, to access resources.
    My goal is to be able to store in our repository InDesign documents that use URLs to other resources in the repository for links (e.g., to graphics and InCopy articles).
    However, as far as I can tell from the scripting documentation and my own experiments, the URL property on Link is read-only in JavaScript (even though the scripting API HTML indicates it's a read/write property) and Link instances can only be constructed using File objects.
    My question: have I missed some trick in the scripting API (or elsewhere) that would allow me to create links that use URLs instead of files (and having done so would InDesign resolve those URLs?)? Our repository does support WebDAV, so that might be an option, but it would depend on mounting WebDAV services in consistent places on client machines, which is dicey at best, given the weak nature of the WebDAV clients on both Windows and OS X).
    Or are my only options to either copy linked resources to the client's local file system (or a shared network drive) or implement a plugin that implements my desired behavior for links?
    And if the answer is a plugin, will that even work?
    This is in the context of CS3. Has the Link mechanism changed at all in CS4 such that I could do what I want in CS4 where I cannot in CS3?
    Thanks,
    Eliot

    Hi,
    It is not possible to use HTTP URLS in CS3. You will have to create a plug-in to use Custom Data Links.
    I think it is possible to use HTTP URLs in CS4 as per the User Guide.

  • How to use HTTPS to retrieve a set of files from a distant server?

    Hi !
    i am interested in some samples or links showing how is it possible to use HTTPS in a java code in a standalone application ( could be swing based or whatever) that allows an HTTPS connection to a distant server ( specefic file repository) so that downloading some data files could be possible.i am also interested to know what conditions should be available to make such connection possible ( specefic port number? specefic authentication? login? password? and does the Operating system on the distant server interfere with that ? etc...)
    thanks!

    in fact i tried to test a sample code by i got this exception :

  • Force SB-Messaging to use HTTP

    HI,
    Is there a way of forcing SB-Messaging adapter to use http insteed of tcp?
    I am behind a firewall where I can't open the tcp ports.
    I did a C# app where I by adding "ServiceBusEnvironment.SystemConnectivity.Mode = ConnectivityMode.Http;" solved the problem.
    Can the same be done in BTS SB-Messaging adapter in?
    /// Johan

    I noticed that even with the WCF-BasicHttpRelay adapter in BizTalk 2013 the adapter requires an outbound connection to port 9351.
    The ConnectivityMode.Http setting can be used to direct all traffic over ports 80 and 443. This is especially useful
    in customer environments where proxies typically allow traffic to ports 80 and 443 only.
    With "netstat -a" I compared the connections between by BizTalk adapter and my custom service. The BizTalk adapter uses an outbound connection to port 9351 and the custom service
    does not.
    There seems to be no way to change the behaviour of the BizTalk adapter as this adapter does not allow for extensions either.

  • Problem using HTTPS

    I am trying to post a message using HTTPS in XI.  I have defined a RFC connection to an external HTTPs partner and when I test the connection I am getting errors (the full log from dev_icm is below).  I am using client certificates and have created a PSE for it.  The third party has added my certificate to their trusted store.  The third party gets a message about non matching ciphers when I try to do the test connection.  Does anyone have any suggestions on things I can try to get this to work?  Our SAP SSL library is at the latest level.
    Regards,
    Jason

    Hello Jason,
    I believe the possible issue could be due to incorrect values to the following profile parameter
    snc/permit_insecure_start
    If SNC is activated (parameter snc/enable = 1 ), by default the
    gateway does not start any programs that communicate without
    SNC.
    This is allowed with snc/permit_insecure_start.
    Please check the instance profile parameter for the same.
    Cheers
