Allow maintenance of DFT_PGP by Users via Settings

Hello,
We have requests to allow the user community to set the default purchasing group instead having to select it everytime in the shopping cart default settings. I found that attributes can be maintained in Settings at the top of the EBP screen. After making changes to BBP_ATTR_ACCESS and T77OMATTR, I have been able to enter data for DFT_PGP, but no prompt and the value does not change the Shopping cart default settings.
What am I missing? Shouldn't these have prompts (searchhelp) and is DFT_PGP the correct attribute? Has any one done this?
Regards, Dean.

Alternatively add the users Org or the position under responsibilty of the extended attributes of the PGrp

  • Allow creation of Self Registered Users

    Under Portal Settings in the Admin section is a checkbox to "Allow creation of Self Registered Users". And a note that says "Changes in these settings will take effect immediately."
    I'd like to utilize this feature and have therefore checked the box, and made sure my custom login adaptive layout includes this tag: <pt:ptui.createaccount />
    After giving the setting a good hour to work its magic, the view source shows that the tag creates just this: <span id="pt-login-create-account"></span>
    I was assuming that there'd be some more code than that - at least a link!
    Any idea what might be the issue? It seems like such a straight forward type of setting.
    Thanks

    The issue has been narrowed down slightly by including the problematic extranet login page as a portlet within our intranet - which then succeeds in displaying the page.
    One item of note was that we have the admin area installed on both of our load balanced intranet servers - and each had to be set to allow creation of users via the admin interface before it could be seen by all. This is slightly disconcerting as we assumed they relied on the same data repository (db).
    Fortunately, this might be a clue as to why it isn't working still on our extranet server.
    The catch there is that we can't access the admin interface via our extranet - so I'm now in the process of trying to track down exactly where this value is saved to from the project settings page.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!
    Solution--
    I set our extranet to be able to display the admin section, restarted the server, logged in, checked that the admin setting was correct, reset the config file, restarted the portal and then the link magically appeared.
    Lesson learned - don't trust the documentation when it says that a restart isn't required...

  • How can I add an iPad to Apple Configurator without losing the user's settings, folders, etc?

    When attempting to add an iPad that has already been in use (for some time) by a particular user into Apple Configurator, I end up having to either wipe the iPad entirely as if it is a new iPad, or restore the user's settings and configuration from iCloud during mini-setup. It seems to be one choice or the other.
    Is there a way to add the "old" iPad into Apple Configurator for management purposes yet still be able to restore the user's settings from iCloud? That is - items like: folders, pictures, email settings, app data?

    This isnt true. Connecting an unsupervised device to configurator and supervising it will wipe the device, there is no way around that. You can attempt an iCloud restore from here, but anything not backed up prior to supervising the device will be erased when supervising it. I have never tried to restore data from an unsupervised iPad so I have no clue if everything will come back.
    Let me clarify... You can successfully restore an iCloud backup of an unsupervised iPad to a new (i.e. different) iPad and have it Supervised with data intact. The process below will allow Configurator to Supervise a device without wiping it when an iCloud backup from a different unsupervised iPad is restored to it.
    Try it… Get 2 new unsupervised iPads… we'll call them iPad "A" and iPad "B." Take iPad "A" and install a few apps, take a few photos, change the background, create a new document in Pages, etc. Run an iCloud backup of iPad "A" using your Apple ID. This is our unsupervised backup of iPad "A."
    Now take new unsupervised iPad "B" and start running through the setup assistant. When you get to the restore screen, choose to restore from iCloud backup. Log in with your Apple ID. Select the backup for iPad "A." The backup will restore and then the iPad will restart. Once it restarts, you get to a "Hello" screen on the iPad. At this point, plug the iPad into your Configurator computer. On the Prepare screen, turn Supervision ON and select "Don't restore backup." Click Prepare.
    Configurator will not wipe the iPad. It will run through the supervision process but not wipe it. Once complete, you'll see that iPad "B" is now exactly the same as iPad "A", but if you go to Settings -> General -> Profiles on iPad "B" you will see a Supervision profile installed.
    The key here is to use a different iPad from the originally backed up iPad. You can't restore the backup of iPad "A" to iPad "A" again and supervise it without wiping it. But you can take the backup of unsupervised iPad "A" and restore it to iPad "B" and retain apps, data, and settings of iPad "A" but with the Supervision profile.
    Hope this clarifies things!
    ~Joe
    I see where your going with that. I dont have any way to reproduce this scenario in my environment, but I will take your word for it that this works. I have only ever plugged in an unsupervised device to configurator and gone through the setup, which always wipes the device. If your saying theres a way around that you should give that a shot OP.

  • Irregular failure to authenticate OpenDirectory users via password-based ssh

    TL;DR - my Yosemite Open Directory server irregularly fails to properly authenticate users (via password-based ssh).
    I recently moved an Open Directory server from an Xserve running 10.6 to a new Mini running 10.10.  I archived the OD config on the Xserve and then took it offline.  Then I brought the Mini online using the same hostname/IP address, created a new OD master using the archived configuration.  Everything seemed to work well, however sometimes the server will not authenticate users via password when logging in with ssh/sftp/scp.  This is also true of a few OS X machines that bind to the OD server (i.e. they usually authenticate users properly, but sometimes fail for no discernable reason).
    The failures are only for password authentication using ssh.  Other mechanisms do not exhibit the auth failures.  For instance, AFP and SMB user auth never fails (with proper credentials).  Nor do users to a FileMaker Server machine that authenticate via the OD server have problems.  Public key based ssh authentication never fails.  Local accounts (non-OD, aka "Local Network Accounts") also do not fail using password-based authentication.
    The failures are irregular.  The only pattern that I can find at all is that sometimes when the failures start happening, they keep happening continuously until...at some point they work properly again.  That is, they may fail from 11:15 am to 2:01 pm, and if so, then all of them fail in that time range.  Sometimes that time range lasts seconds, sometimes it lasts hours.
    The time range failure pattern is host specific.  For instance, if password authentication is failing on the main OD server, authentication may be fine on the other bound machines.  If authentication is failing on one of the bound machines, then it may be fine on all others and fine on the OD server itself.
    The failure pattern does not seem to correlate to any other events or activity on the server (even remotely).  CPU utilization never gets above about 15%.  Memory utilization is similarly very low.  Network traffic is occasionally high, but it does not seem in any way related to the auth failures.  There are not other log messages that occur before or after the failures with any consistency.
    I've been monitoring the auth failures by attempting to login to the OD server and two other bound hosts once per minute so that I can tell when the auth is failing (before getting calls from the users).
    The adaptive firewall is not running on the OD server.  Nor is any other firewall.
    Below are a comparison of the system.log entries for a failed and successful auth (I've stripped out those lines that are identical in both instances).  The log entries have been sanatized as described.
    Rebooting the OD server does not affect the bound clients' authentication.  Rebooting the OD server is problematic, and I cannot do it often.  When I do, sometimes failures start soon after reboot, and sometimes that don't come back for many hours - again, no discernable pattern.
    If anyone has any ideas what I can do to discover the source of this problem and come up with a solution, I'd very much appreciate it.  Note that I'm aware that I can export all users and group and reconstruct a new, clean OD master, but without the ability to save the passwords, this becomes a large logisitcal problem, and I'm saving it as a last resort (particularly since if it doesn't solve my problem, I will have inconvenienced many users and be right back in the same place).

    I was able to view pictures in my email before I upgraded to iOS 7.  I have allow remote pictures turned on in my settings.  I loved Apple until this last upgrade.  It used to be an intuitively designed product.  I hate it now.  If they don't make it easier for older users to use again, this will be the last Apple product I every purchase.

    Welcome to AD!
    I have a regular post for the top 3 or 4 fixes for that 9808 error. Obviously you are going to skip #1, since you've already tried it. Let me know how you get on with the next 2.
    The top 3 fixes to itunes error 9808 seem to be
    1) Go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Advanced, make sure that SSL 3.0 is checked and TLS 1.0 is checked. Also under Security make sure that the “Check for server certificate revocation (requires restart)” is unchecked. Then click ok and fire up iTunes.
    2) The culprit was Norton. The users are set up as Admin and Standard. I have Parental Controls turned on in both Vista as well as Norton. Admin users had no problems connecting to iTunes. Standard users would get the error. I had to go to Norton’s Personal Firewall and add the program “iTunes Helper.exe” and set the option to “Allowed” (”iTunes.exe should already be in the Allowed category.) in order for the standard users to be able to connect.
    3) close iTunes if you have it open right now. Then go to C:/Documents and Settings/username/Local Settings/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes. Delete or cut the preferences.xml file which contains your iTunes preferences. Then go to C:/Documents and Settings/username/Application Data/Apple Computer/iTunes and delete or move the preferences.xml file. For Mac users, there is only one file you must delete or move a to a new location and is located at User > Library > Preferences > com.apple.itunes.plist. Restart iTunes and it will recreate those two (or one) files with the default settings. Feel free to set your preferences back to what they were and then connect to the iTunes store and enjoy!
    And #4, see if you can get into the iTS from a different windows admin account on the same PC.

  • Cisco 1602i + Authenticating users via RADIUS?

                   Hello,
    Our company recently purchased a Cisco 1602i standalone WAP to replace the WAP4410Ns that we were having issues with.  I am now attempting to configure the RADIUS authentication, as we have a User network and a Guest connection.  The Guest connection works fine, using WPA PSK.  However, I can't seem to get the RADIUS authentication to work.  Reading the documentation has got me a little confused, and I have tried turning on debugging (debug radius authentication, debug aaa) but those show nothing.  Also, in the RADIUS server itself (Windows 2008 R2 NPS), I see nothing in the logs when I try to connect using a device or the "test aaa" command.  Can someone guide me on what I'm doing wrong?  I followed someone's advice on another forum and removed "authentication network-eap" from the SSID (phoenix_2), and now when I attempt to connect with a device it just asks me for a password, it doesn't prompt for a username anymore.  I am very stumped.  Here's the relevant config:

    The NPS worked just fine with the WAP4410Ns, not sure why we're having so much trouble with the 1602i.

    Thanks Rasika, your link worked.  I had the authentication key before, but i removed it while I was trying different things.  My main issue was not applying the list name to the ssid, the documentation did not make it clear that when the radius server is specified using the "radius-server ...." command, that the radius group refers to that command when you configure the group.  Once that clicked, it made sense that the method list name was specifed by the radius group, and that the authentication methods then referred to the radius group.  It was a big question mark in my head how the radius server was applied to the SSID prior to reading your post.
    I haven't tried the "erase startup-config" command yet, I will try that next.
    Quick question, why are both authentication open and authentication network-eap needed?  I would assume authentication network-eap would suffice, unless the authentication open command refers to the allowed devices and not just authentication via RADIUS?

    Is there any option that i'm getting wrong
    How can we solve this.
    Usualy we use Google drive documents to share some spreadsheets, but we wanted to share the same document with numbers (that's much better) but it doesn't work as easily as in google drive and doesn't even remotely works how it was supposed.

    When I try to share a Numbers spreadsheet with other Mac users, (via iMessages) it doesn't open on Numbers app but instead on Numbers for iCloud beta, on their browser. and worse all the letters appear out of format and unreadable.
    Don't know why those letters wouldn't display properly; maybe something to do with their settings at Safari > Preferences > Advanced > Default Encoding or similar setting in whatever browser they are using. But it's really easy for them to download the document via the "wrench" in the Numbers for iCloud menu. Then they can open it in the Numbers app.
    For "real-time" collaboration, I think you all need to be accessing Numbers for iCloud via the browser.

  • Migration Assistant won't migrate User Account settings

    I have Mac OS 10.7.5 running on the internal hard drive of my mid-2011 iMac. Because I'm having some issues with it that I suspect is due to old data/settings affecting 10.7.5, I wanted to see if installing Mac OS 10.8 might fix them. I installed 10.8 on an external FireWire drive but just did a clean install of the OS initially without migrating anything from the internal drive. My plan was to migrate things slowly rather than everything at once. Well I hit a snag at the outset when I tried to migrate my User settings; Migration Assistant says it can't do with out renaming my user account! The problem is that I don't know why this is happening AND I don't know if MA is talking about the user account in 10.8 or the one in 10.7.
    Any idea as to what I can do? I was thinking of wiping the external drive and starting over but this time have the User account(s) migrated as part of the install; might this work?
    BTW, when migrating AFTER a new OS install, is it better to have MA in the NEW OS pull the data from the old OS or have MA in the OLD OS push the data to the new OS (is it even possible to do this? I've always had the new MA pull the data from the old OS.)?

    OK, yesterday I wiped the drive and started over. When I got to the Setup/Migration Assistant, I was given 4 options:
    Users; Applications; Settings; Other files and documents... Under the Users option was a drop down where I could select which users to transfer; I selected mine and left the other ones (a "Test" account & an "Apple Service" account). Under the Settings option I could select "Computer" and/or "Network"; I selected both.The Applications & Other... options did not have ant drop down selections; I de-selected both.
    After the installation was complete, I let the iMac run for several hours with no hint of the slow down that happens on the Mac OS 10.7.5 system. I then used the Assistant and had my applications copied over. Oh, I also created new "Test" and "Apple Service" user accounts.
    OK, so what exactly is migrated via the "Other..." option?

    Whenever I send a message to another iPhone user via iMessage it is sending my Apple ID instead of my phone number. Could someone help me with this???

    Check this article: iOS: About Messages
    Additional Information
    You can change your iMessage Caller ID setting on iOS devices in Settings > Messages > Receive At > Caller ID. Note that the Caller ID setting is used only for new conversations. If you would like to change the address from which messages are sent, first change your Caller ID, and then delete the existing conversation and start a new one.
    iMessage responses will be sent from the address the recipient most recently messaged. For example, on iPhone you can receive messages sent to your Apple ID and phone number. A friend sends you a message to your Apple ID. Responses in this conversation will be sent from your Apple ID, even if your Caller ID is set to your phone number.

    Hey zubairl,
    Thanks for the question. For Privacy, you must be the original owner of the calendar to share with others. Because you are simply subscribed to the calendar, you do not see the option for sharing. To resolve your issue, have the owner of the calendar “share” it with the recipient, or have the recipient subscribe to the calendar just as you have done (if you have access to the public subscription link).

  • Creating users via the admin console

    Hi,
    I'm trying to create a user via the admin console. The user will have to
    authenticate via Membership, and will require a username and password.
    However, when creating the user via the admin console it does not allow you
    to specify a default password (or by using the command line 'ipsadmin create
    user /domain/user.xml', unless there is some XML field specified in the file
    to do that? If so, what is it? Specify an attribute in the
    "iwtAuthMembership-password"?) After creating a user via the console, I
    tried logging in using a blank password and a password the same as the
    username, but neither worked. Is this password set as default to something,
    and if so to what?
    Also, is there some existing means for a user who has already created a
    membership account to change their password? If not, then I guess I will
    have to develop some code to modify the "iwtAuthMembership-password"
    attribute.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    After you have created the user via the console, then the user will be added to a particular role.From the console go that particular domain and then to the role under which the user was created.Then select the Users link you can see the users list.From that list select the user for whom a password is needed,then it will lead you to a screen where you can see a link named Authentication.Expand that link and click on the Membership link there you can enter the username and password for the user

  • Date Manipulation Depending on the various user date settings

    hi,
    I have a query.
    In scripts, user date format setting is YYYY.MM.DD, values stored the table MHND are also in the format YYYY.MM.DD.
    However when i pass the date values from MHND from form to subroutine pool the dates are available in the format DD.MM.YYYY in the subpool.
    I want to calculate the diffenece between two dates. I have checked the function modules to calculate the differece betweent 2 dates those acccepts dates with type YYYYMMDD.
    However i tried to bring my dates in from YYYY.MM.DD into YYYYMMDD format by using CONVERT_DATE_INTERNAL function module... That is not working as the user date format is YYYY.MM.DD and the dates are coming in subpool in DD.MM.YYYY format....
    Please suggest me the approach the relavant function modules.... so as to manipulate the dates based on the user date settings.
    Looking forward for your replies. Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Anuja.

    hi anuja,
    Try using the following formatting  script symbol in your form routine
    For example, you are passing the date into the subroutine then put K after the date field like below.
    &date(K)& .
    or
    use SET DATE MASK : YYYY:MM:DD

    <location path="_layouts/15/InPlaceRecordsSettings.aspx">
        <system.web>
          <authorization>
            <deny users="*" />
          </authorization>
        </system.web>
      </location>
    <location path="_layouts/15/InPlaceRecordsListSettings.aspx">
        <system.web>
          <authorization>
            <deny users="*" />
          </authorization>
        </system.web>
      </location>
    When I tried the access on
    :<portno>/sites/<scname>/_layouts/15/InPlaceRecordsSettings.aspx">http://<servername>:<portno>/sites/<scname>/_layouts/15/InPlaceRecordsSettings.aspx page allowed the access for all users.
    Please suggest the possible solution to restrict the access of "InPlaceRecordsListSettings.aspx" and "InPlaceRecordsSettings.aspx" pages on SharePoint2013.
    Thanks

    You can't do it from OOTB.
    _layout folder is accessible to the users if they have read access in any of the site even subsite.
    You can modify *.aspx file, add your custom control which will check user.

  • Transaction SE16: Field selection (User-Specific Settings) is NOT working for ALL tables

    Hi Guru’s,
    I have an issue in Transaction SE16, Field selection (User-Specific Settings) is NOT working in Tables (ALL tables).
    Following is the screenshot attached for your kind reference,
    That is in the initial screen of transaction SE16 if I choose Filed Name or Filed Label only the technical details (Field Names) are appearing and not the descriptions like Client, Purchasing Doc, and Company Code Doc. Category Document Type etc…
    Right now I am using ECC6 and EHP7 SAP system.
    Please help me to resolve this issue by implementing any OSS note or User Role creations or any technical changes required in system.
    Hope the requirement is clear and in case need any clarification please revert back.
    NOTE: Right now in Development System we don’t have any successful user to compare the settings.
    Regards,

    Thanks Patra.
    Even I searched in SAP portal and couldn't able to find the relevant OSS note.
    Following is my BASIS team response,
    "Only you can view Table Field values from higher release"
    Can you suggest / guide on this comment as well.
    Looking forward to your speedy response.
