Alternative UOM wrong quantity conversion

While issuing the material qty 50 PCE its converts into 300.002 Kg, as it should be 300 Kg.
The alternative UOM is maintained as, 1PCE = 6 Kg.

Can you provide more details about where you issuing it. If possible upload screenshots n paste the link here of mtl master (Alt. UoM page), then stock keeping unit, the goods issue posting etc. to get a better understanding.

  • Sample Quantity to be in alternative Uom

    Dear QM Gurus,
We have a material which has basic uom as KG. We will be maintaining the alternative uom as PCS and conversion factor as 1KG = 1330 PCS in Material master. Now we want sample quantity in the inspection lot to be created in alternative uom instead of basic uom. Already we maintained PCS in inspection plan header level & MIC. But still the sample quantity is coming in KG.
Kindly guide me to solve this issue.

  • Query Designer : Quantity Conversion as per UOM

    Hi gurus,
I am facing a typical situation here. I have Product Quantity data that I fetch from R3, This has diff UOM based on different product. I know the conversion factor. I have not included the conversion factor in the transformation while loading the data. Hence in the cube, the data is loaded without any conversion.
Now, in my query, I want that the Quantity data be displayed always in say BOX (Whether at aggregate level, ex. Sales Office level or at a more granular level (product brand level)) it should always be in BOX. Can I make such a modification in my query so that the end result for quantity should always be in BOX.
    thanks n regards,
    Sree

    Hi Sree,
You can set unit conversion for relevant key figures in the Query Designer.
For that, you need to create a quantity conversion type first.
For a BW7.x system, use transaction RSUOM to maintain quantity conversion type.
It could be defined like this:
    Source unit: from data record
    Target unit: fixed: BOX
    Hope this helps.

  • Mass deletion of alternative UOM conversion

    Hi Colleagues,
Does anybody knows is there an easy way for mass-deletion of alternative unit of measure conversion rules in material master?
    Thanks,
    Artashes

    I did the following way:
    1. created a recording which always deletes the second line in Additional data-> uom conversions.
    2. by multiply running this recording via lsmw will delete all uoms.
    3. I was not able to do it at once as different materials has different numbers of alternative uom entered.
    Thanks,

  • IS-Oil: Quantity Conversion

    Dear All,
    Need your help.
My user maintained quantity conversion in the material master (MM02) as
    below:-
    1 MT = 1,026 L30
Then he created sales order and delivery order. But in the delivery
order, the quantity conversion not as expected. In delivery order, the
conversion shows that 1 MT = 1,026 L30 but for 26.316 MT, the system
    converted the quantity to 27,321.187 L30 (1 MT = 1,038 L30) which is
wrong. How to correct the calculation?.
    Thank you.

    Dear Norhayati,
if I understand your initial question correctly, you want to understand how the dynamic quantity conversion is working in your system, which means for example how the system calculates a mass or weight if a volume at a specified observed temperature is entered, where you give your example in MT and L30.
The answer is not that simple. The SAP QCI is basically an open interface, where you configure in your project the quantity conversion, and where you integrate expert software from SAP partner companies for bulk quantity calculations.
This should always be done following a defined project methodology.
There are many calculation models defined globally.
The SAP QCI does not follow a specific model, and, if not configured at all but just used "as delivered" follows basically a modified DIN 51650 calculation model, without the rounding of quantity values specified in that standard. You can purchase standard document DIN 51650 at http://www.beuth.de .
DIN 51650 u201CTesting of mineral oils and related products u2013 determination of quantityu201D - DIN stands for "Deutsches Institut für Normung", which is the German Institute for Standarization.
QuantityWare, which is a company that develops SAP certified oil & gas conversion products, supports many possible conversion models, which are described  here:
    http://www.quantityware.com/_data/QuantityWare_MQCI_SP11.pdf
This document also describes the main steps for the dynamic quantity conversion of oil products.
In your case, it is first important to know whether MT stands for mass or weight, and which volume correction standard your system is configured to use, which includes also the version of that standard.
The standard SAP QCI again does only support - via the air buoyancy indicator concept - the DIN 51757 weight correction formula. Standard ASTM D1250-80 on the other hand defines several "tables" how to convert a density (in vaccum) to a density in air, which is then utilized to calculate weights. This standard part is currently being revised by the API/ASTM.
Thus in any project, it is important to define the relevant standards for Volume corrections (temperature and pressure dependant) as well as the weight and mass conversion standards. Rounding of UoM quantities is also important.
I hope this helps a little for a start,
    Kind regards,
    Markus

  • Error in Quantity Conversion type.

    Hi all,
I have created  quantity conversion types in transaction RSUOM."ZCRFNSC"

  • Quantity conversion not happening at times

    Hi all,
I have an issue with Quantity Conversion. The BAse UoM is in Pieces (PC). It works perfectly sometimes and at times when the report is run with Alternate UoM as CS/ KG or TO, it gives the report output in PC only.
This is how the conversion is defined:
    1. For material, 0MATERIAL info object is used with 0BASE_UOM and a DSO has been created automatically (in BEx Tab). The data has been loaded for all materials in this DSO
    2. A unit conversion type is created in RSUOM. There is no authorization for this tcode. hence cant give more deatils on the definition here.
    3. The variable for Alternate UoM used in the query selection screen is built on 0BASE_UOM
    4. In the KPI's that use this property, in the conversion tab: the Conversion type is listed AND Target Unit = From Variable
My question is why does the query behave randomly. Why is that the conversion happens properly sometimes and at times it gives the output in Base UoM. Please advice.

    Hi,
Can you give some examples of the cases in which the conversion works perfectly, and in which the conversion does not work perfectly?
Another question: is it that the conversion works fine for some specific materials, and for other materials the conversion goes haywire?

  • Stock report in alternative UoM

Hi we are maintaining the stock of our FG in PCs as a base UoM . But our sales and distribution dept needs a sotck in alternative UoMs also
    Eg 10 Pc = 1 Box , and 120 Box = 1 Case likewise
They needs the stock in Boxes and cases also
I have maintained conversion in Material Master , but I do not find any report which shows me these alternative UoMs
Please tell me is there any such report available

    Hi Bhushan,
You will have to go in for Z report. In MB51 you can see only by movement type & also Unit of Entry & Base UoM.
In MMBE per material, you can change the UoM & see the stocks, but this will be material by material & not for a range of materials.
Read the data from MARD, MARM tables & also if you're maintaining special stocks, refer to MSPR, MCHB etc.
    Hope the above helps.

  • Quantity Conversion in F & A Pricing

    Hello friends,
This question is related to F & A Pricing in IS-Oil MAP solution.
I am facing a problem while changing a Billing Document in VF02. In the pricing item conditions screen, when I try to click on the zoom button of a F & A condition type, I am getting the following error message.
"Unable to convert between units of measure L15 and TO for material". But in the material master of the given material, the converion between TO and L15 has been maitained.
Also I am aware that the F & A pricing might also use the QCI component for the conversion. So anyone help me on where to look for the quantity conversion details specified for F & A pricing.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sankar.

    Dear Shankar,
Adding TO in UoM group may lead to inconsistencies for those material documents posted already. Surprise that you see TO in QCI Test but not in UoM group.
To analyse further, Please check in table LIPSO2 using the delivery document number and Item number and see whether you see a quantity for TO or other mass UoM such as KG. Also please share the below information.
    1. Transaction qty and UoM.
    2. Base Uom and quantity
    3. F&A Price quotation price units.

I Created Quantity conversion type in RSUOM
All table entries are available in T006 table and the units i'm trying to convert are in the same dimension
Used this Conversion type in key figure at query level.
Still the report output shows the unit and value as stored at Infoprovider level.
Any idea, what could be missing?
    Regards,

    Mahesh,
Along with Currency conversion, BI 7 has feature for Quantity Conversion.
I used the simple method of conversion using standard T006 table.
Having set the property in Query definition for the key figure in Conversions tab, still the quantity is displayed in Original UOM.
Now i got a warning 'Conversion not possible' and there are no details on that.
I'm still trying to find out if there is some system setting missing.
    Mr. DON,
Where can i maintain/check dynamic determination of conv factor.
I'm trying to convert EA to DZ. these are in same dimension.

  • Planing in COPA in alternative UoM

    Hi all,
a question : Is it possible to plan in COPA in alternative UoM.The stock keeping unit is EA, but unfortunately the planning department wants to plan in KG. Conversion between the UoM's  is maintained in Material master. The project itself is a roll-out and COPA is pre-configured. There is 2 value fields in the operating concern that can store the data for volume in those two UoM
Also I saw in TC KEDR , that a step" Clear " is customized to clear all the postings in the value field where KG volumes are posted. From conditions there i remove the our company code, but w/o any success. Whatever I have posted to the KG value field without any conversion is moved / reposted in value field for EA.
Can you help me with this.
    Thank you for your time.

    Hi Maria
In my opinion, you should not remove the entry of your company code from KEDR
In the conditions, you should put condition as "BUKRS <> XXXX", where XXXX = your company code... This means, the derivation step will run only if the company code is Not Equal to Your company code

  • Using Alternative UOM in transaction VA21

We want to use alternative UOM for Hydrocarbon Product during creation of a quotation using transaction VA21 and document type QT so that user can change the Alternative UOM say in KG or L15 or change the temperature and density of the material.
Grateful if anyone provides a solution.

    Hi!
    Please solve:
In Material Master for material HSD02, Base UOM is L15 and Sales Unit is KL.
Earlier in Additional Data, 1 KL <= 1000 L15 is stored.
    Now I want to chage the conversion factor as 1 KL <= 987.9 L15 or 10 KL <= 9879 L15.
Hence I wanted to delete the earlier entry with 1 KL <= 1000 L15  and tried to maintain 10 KL <= 9879 L15.
This is not allowed. On saving the change again earlier entry 1 KL <= 1000 L15 appears in Additional Data -> Unit of Measure.
    Thanks in anticipation.

  • Quantity Conversion Function Module

    Hi,
I am using BW7.0's feature - Quantity Conversion (TCode: RSUOM).
I could use it for converting quantity for different unit on the fly during report time.
Now, I would like to do convert during data upload. Is there any function module that can help?
Please note that the quantity conversion factor is "Material dependent".
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Chris

    Hi,.
    1) In the BEx Tab page of
Characteristic 0MATERIAL, maintained the field "Base Unit of Measure" as 0BASE_UOM .
    2) In the BEx Tab page of
Characteristic 0MATERIAL, maintained the field "Unit of Measure for Char." by click on the New button, it will generate a DataStore Object, which will store information for calculating the conversion factor.
    3) Fill in the DataStore generated with data, using the DataSource 0MAT_UNIT_ATTR.
Note that we must NOT use the the former infosource technique and update rules for loading data to it. Use transformation and DTP, else the SID could not be loaded to it.
(I stuck with this problem before..:))
    4) Create a Quantity Conversion Type through TCode RSUOM, the Conversion factor can choose 1,3 or 4, with reference to 0MATERIAL InfoObject.
    5) Then in any query of cube with 0MATERIAL in it, the quantity conversion type defined in step 4 could be use for displaying data in other UOM~

  • APO SNP Planning Book Show Product View alternative UoM

    Hi,
I have a base UoM of BTL and an alternative UoM of CAS.
I can change/save in my users settings the in transactions /SAPAPO/RRP3 (Product View) and /SAPAPO/SDP94 (Planning Book) to show the alternative UoM CAS as default.
The problem I have is when I enter the Planning Book, load a product, right click on the product (in Selected Objects), select Show Product View and then look at the stock tab, this always shows as the base UoM BTL.  Can this be saved to show the alternative UoM CAS?

    Hi Linda,
Try changing you user settings for a product in RRP3 Screen.
Page Menu --> Settings -->General Tab -->General Panel -->enter AUOM value (CAS in your case).
Note - The conversion only takes place for the products, for which the alternative unit of measure entered is also entered as the alternative unit of measure in the product master, or for the products, for which the base unit of measure has the same dimension as the alternative unit of measure.
Caution: Test it , how its affecting for other products which doesnt have CAS as AUOM.
All products which have BUOM as BTL will be changed to CAS when AUOM is maintained for them in product master.
    Thanks
    Vinoth
