ALV edit (qty field is not convertable)
in my ALV program i have used one field MENGE (13,3) (QTY field) in the out put it is showing as 1.000,
when user going to enter a value (5) it is showing as 0.005 but user need it as 5.000.
please solve this question experts.....

MENGE is QTY field,
instead of that u can give F (float) field then user can enter 5 it will be display 5.000.... that is best way to use it..

How to display subtotal in ALV, where the field is not a numeric.
Hi
We are having a requirement to display the sub total for a field using ALV grid display, where the field is not numeric.
The field is characte, Status field(consists of values Submit, Approve ,Reject), where the subtotal should be value of count of group by status .
say status with submit are 10 records, so after all records with submit status are, displyed, we need to display its subtotal as 10.

Is there an easy way to make a field required in the ALV grid? I have looked in the field catalog and the layout and can't seem to find a flag to set. Right now I am using "handle_data_changed" to check the required fields in the row. I think this should be a standard "feature" like it is on the table control.

Editable ALV: Entered Values are not Converted to Upper Case
Hi Experts,
I'm getting stuck with this one...
Fieldcat-lowercase is initial
Associated domain is NOT "lower case"
New values entered by user are not converted automatically to upper case and - in result - chek result of lower case value is "invalid"
Must conversion be done manually?

If you are using FM 'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE', during data/types declaration, you have to use the LIKE keyword and not the TYPE keyword.
If you use TYPE, the fieldcat will not be populated.

Editing a field in ALV and validating the newly entered Value
Hi Experts,
I have an ALV report in grid display (not object oriented). My requirement is to edit a field on the output and write the validations to validate the value that was edited on the ALV output.
This can be done using object oriented coding by using the method check_changed_data. For this to happen, i need to change the entire scope of my report into object oriented, which is like reinventing the wheel.
Since my report was developed using classical ABAP, what needs to be done to get this functionality. Any suggestions are welcome.

Edit a field in ALV tree in a subscreen of a module pool

I want to make a field editable in the ALV tree based on some condtions in a subscreen of a module pool. I used the edit = 'X' field in the fieldcatalog still it is showing the field as display and not edit.
Please help me to get the field as editable and save it to the database table.

I tried making the field which is to be made editable as wa_fieldcatalog-edit = 'X'. But its not working. I didnt get you when you said edit in layout object.
I also went through the demo programs but these programs are not having editable fields.

How to made Qty field as non editable in MIRO
Hi SAP Gurus,
While Post a Goods Receipt (MIRO) for Receive the Material from Job
Worker, the Qty of Raw Material which needs to Issue or consume from
Stock will propose as per PO BOM. The Qty field of Raw Material is in
Editable Mode. Business wants that Qty Field to be Non-editable and not
to allow user to Change the Proposed Qty. As per PO BOM and based on
Material Received from Job Worker, Raw Material has to Issue or Consume
from Stock. If any Under Consumption or Over Consumption will be
adjusted thru MB04.
Pls let me know is there any setting to make Raw Material Qty field as
non editable.

This is Unicode problem, In unicode systme some restriction in programing.
There is three kid of data type
Character Processing ( C, N, D, T and STRING ).
Byte Processing Mode ( X and XString ).
Numeric Data Type ( I, P , F ).
whenever in structure all kind of data types are used then you can not use WRITE and then whole structure name.
in LFA1 in ECC6.0 if any custom fields are not added then up to length 1232 is determined as Character.
so if you will give aa(1232) it will work similarlly other kid of remainig data tpe you move in another structure of required format and then check.

ApEx BIP report using webservice: could not convert null to bean field
Seems like a pretty straightforward problem but I don't manage to find a solution.
I have a BI Suite implementation on one server.
And a database with ApEx on another server.
I want to call a BIP report from within my ApEx application using the webservices (runReport) available in BIP 11g.
I used soapUI to test my webservice. Result : OK
When called from within ApEx, ApEx gives me a succes message but the report isn't generated. Instead the console on the BIP server shows the following error:

Some extra information:
- the webservice is created on this WSDL : /xmlpserver/services/v2/ReportService?wsdl
- it's defined as a SOAP v2
- no basic authentication
- the reports are defined in the BIP environment; not in ApEx

I am not getting the desired output as per example.
I have followed all the steps as per the example but still a looser can anyone help me in this.
When I execute the program I get the following run time error
Field symbol has not been assigned.
I tried commenting the subroutine call
1} perform Change_fieldcatalogue and fetch data.
and i was getting the 2 custom container (top, bottom) on the screen output this time.
I have also created a screen 600 with all the attributes.
But i have doubt with this statement
Create a Custom container and name it CCONT and OK code as OK_CODE.
Save check and Activate the screen painter.
I hope on the layout screen the one which says custom control is only the custom container but i see that the fct code box is not highlighted then how can i assign a fctcode.
Could you plz also clear this.

How to edit particular field in alv list display

i am displaying output using alv list display. my as follows.

here if i click a01 it has to show iin edit mode earlier it has to show display mode only. when i select by that time it has to show edit mode there i will change into a02 and i will click save button this is my requirement.
