ALV Grid Insert Line - Dumps only on certain computers

We have some ALV Grids in our program. Every time i open one my computer the first cell is marked, so the insert line function just adds another line. But on an other computer, the frist cell is somehow not marked, which leads to a dump on inserting a line, cause the return parameter for the row_idx is not filled. First i thought it's the user, but it isn't.
So i guess that the GUI might be at fault, how could i determin the differences? Or is there a setting for that?

Hello Robert
When you open the SAP LogonPad then you find a symbol in the left upper corner. Click on it (left mouse) and choose function "About SAP Logon..." (Über SAP Logon...).
Then you see the exact version, build and patch-level of your SAP-GUI.

ALV GRID ONE LINE EDIT

ALV grid total line customizing

Dear Masters,
I need a solution for my problem. I need to modify sorting of subtotal and grand total based on currency which criteria i create myself. The standard alv output sort total by currency based on alpahabetical order, e.g: AUD, EUR, IDR, USD. I need to change the sorting into IDR, USD, AUD, EUR. How can i do it in alv grid?
I also like to add new line after grand total line, which is grand total in Local Currency, in this case, in IDR, which rate given. I can get the figure of subtotal, but i don't know how to append new line after grand total line output in alv standard.
Need your suggestion.

I have used object oriented ALV. You can remove final total line and have sub total lines. Code below can help you.
1) Fieldcatalog you can do sum for currency values
2) Sort Build you can have sub totals.
3) layout_init you can remove final total line.

Why does my website crash only on certain computers?

I'm building a website for my company, and it crashes on a few machines. I've tried it on Windows with FireFox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer, and it works perfectly. As for Mac, I've personally tried it on two diffrent machines with Chrome and Safari, and it works in Chrome. While testing in Safari, it crashed one Mac, but not the other. If I clear the cache, it sometimes works, but then begins crashing again, and by crashing, I mean the BeachBall Of Death. My coworkers said it has crashed on one other Mac, but it seems as if the others are working. Any insight as to why this is occuring would be much appreciated. Andrew -- I'm not a programmer, but I do have a few comments as a reader . . .
On my MBP, OS 10.7.1, Safari 5.1:
The bottom "About Covu" is not live. Spaces is, but then I get the planet and it just sits there.
Blasts just sends the background up to Blasts. No more information is available.
Same machine, using Firefox:
Same results. No Difference.

Multiple Input Rows In ALV Grid (Editable)

Hi,
I have an editable ALV grid and need to have multiple blank rows ready for input. Something similar to what happens when you click the "New Entries" button in SM30 (Table Maintainance).
There is a local function for appending lines in the ALV grid toolbar but this only allows a single entry.
I have replaced the local function with my own button (same icon etc) and on user_command event, I am appending several blank lines to my output table.
However these lines are not being shown on the screen. I have looked through the layout and field catalog but there is no field to allow blank lines to be shown.
My 2 questions are:
1. Is there some standard way of entering multiple entries in ALV Grid Editable.
2. If not then how to allow blank lines to be shown as ready for input.
Also if someone could suggest a way to do error checking for all entries on the screen especially duplicate entries I will be extremely grateful.

You can easily do whatever checks you wish. You should declare an event handling method for event DATA_CHANGED and call the ADD_PROTOCOL_ENTRY method of the ER_DATA_CHANGED event parameter (it's an object of the class CL_ALV_CHANGED_DATA_PROTOCOL). You must not forget to set handler for your ALV grid.
For example, this piece of code checks for all changed fields resulting in error message if they are initial. In short, this makes all the fields obligatory.
METHODS: on_data_changed FOR EVENT data_changed OF cl_gui_alv_grid IMPORTING er_data_changed.
SET HANDLER your_object->on_data_changed FOR your_alv_grid.
METHOD on_data_changed.

Furthermore, if you make your class inherited from CL_GUI_ALV_GRID you can make use of protected attribute MT_OUTTAB which is a data object referencing your output table. Then you can have:

P.S. Regarding the blank lines that you need, what's wrong with standard ALV grid buttons "Append row" and "Insert row" which appear whenever the grid is editable (unless you deliberately remove them)? They work just fine with me (just like on SM30). I don't see reason for programatically appending lines to your internal table.

Color individual rows in an ALV Grid

in an ALV grid I have to distinguish between certain values in the rows so I wanted to use different colors. I see how to change the color of the columns but cannot work out how to change individual row color. I don´t see any values for this in 'Fieldcat'.

ALV grid in Subscreen

Hi all,
I have a subscreen with ALV grid in module pool program.
The main screen has two subscreens (one is header and other is items/reports)
from the main screen, the ALV Grid subscreen can be called in two ways.
1. from application tool bar (show report button) - ALV grid will be displayed in Items/Reports subscreen.
2. In Items/Reports subscreen, while displaying items there is a requirement to display same ALV grid subscreen report on hotspot of particular item.
ALV Grid in subscreen displaying only first come first serve for subscreen, if the subscreen called from application toolbar button then the ALV grid from items hotspot call not displaying and vice versa.
Not sure where i am doing wrong, but if i free the container, alv and re-generate all the objects its working fine but user doesn't like the flickering display of conatiner when it re-generating.
Any suggestions would help.

Anything other than buttons on ALV Grid toolbar?

Does anyone know if anything other than buttons can be placed on a ALV Grid toolbar, eg. a piece of text or an input field? The filter button for data selection may be too cumbersome/slow for a call centre operator; I want to have a display field with a dropdown identifying a data field and an input field to accept a value on which to select.

may be you can do some thing like this..instead of having a input field on the toolbar. have an input field above the ALV grid(this is applicable only when you are using Object Oriented ALV).

you can have a button along with input field also. enter the value in it, and press enter . in the enter handling fetch all the data. and display in the ALV grid.
in the screen fiest create input field, and button, then place the custom control. on the custom control you place the grid.

Need help in ALV grid editable cells

Hi,
I have created a ALV Grid program in which i made certain cells as editable cells.Now my question is if suppose i have 2 rows in my output then if i change the 2nd rows some cells, then some calculation has to perform till this it is fine but nw i want to modify the 3rd rows some cells as per the changes in 2nd row.
How to do it with ALV oops concepts.
I have refered BCALV_EDIT_02 and BCALV_EDIT_03 these std programs.

I recommend to do any post-processing of the changed data OUTSIDE your event handler method (HANDLE_DATA_CHANGED).
Within the event handler method do all required validations and the trigger PAI by calling method CL_GUI_CFW=>SET_NEW_OK_CODE (for an example refer to my sample report ZUS_SDN_TWO_ALV_GRIDS in alv)
Now at PAI of your screen you can do any kind of post-processing, calculation, etc. within the itab used for the ALV list.

Hiding values in ALV Grid

Hi all,
I need to hide values of one particular field in ALV Grid.But I need only subtotal of the hidden values.
Is there any option in ALV Grid.
For Example.
it_final-menge
100
125
175
200
400
400 is the subtotal value.Values 100,125,175,200 needs to be hidden for some specific purpose.
I need

blank
blank
blank
blank
400
blank indicates space.
Please Suggest some ideas.

Hi,
Using SAP R/3 field catalog or layout this is not possible. However you can do this manually, by taking a varaible for subtotal and calculating it manually instead of the sub_tot field in the catalog.
You can hide an entire column, but all rows except the subtotal is not possible.

Making Wifi Network Only Available on Certain Computers

My roommate and I have a password-protected wireless network. However, we are pretty sure someone else is able to use our wifi because we can manually check our bandwidth online; when we are out of town, bandwidth is still being used, and I have had more than one person connected to my iTunes before.
My roommate said she's connected to password-protected wireless networks (for which she didn't know the password) before and had no idea how it even worked. But that must be what's happening!
I've heard of wifi networks that only allow certain computers to connect to them. How can I get ours to do that, too?

g_t_alv is my Internal table. I am inseritng a button in the field name ICON.Now all my records in the ALV will contain a button in the field ICON. But when i create a new line in the ALV the field ICON is containing an empty space.
loop at g_t_alv into g_r_alv.
      ls_edit-fieldname = 'ICON'.
      ls_edit-style     = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_style_button.
      INSERT ls_edit INTO TABLE lt_edit.
    INSERT LINES OF lt_edit INTO TABLE g_r_alv-handle_style.
    MODIFY g_t_alv FROM g_r_alv.
endloop.
