Amazon Store Packaged App Question - Web Service

Hi!
I was very excited when I saw the Amazon Store packaged app! It's exactly what I need for a venture of mine, but unfortunately the packaged app is not working.
I get the following error:
<?xml version="1.0"?> <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:aws="http://webservices.amazon.com/AWSFault/2005-15-09"><SOAP-ENV:Body><SOAP-ENV:Fault><faultcode>aws:Client.MissingParameter</faultcode><faultstring>The request must contain the parameter Signature.</faultstring><detail><aws:RequestId xmlns:aws="http://webservices.amazon.com/AWSFault/2005-15-09">69ae79fc-d6d2-41ed-a451-763974b95bf3</aws:RequestId></detail></SOAP-ENV:Fault></SOAP-ENV:Body></SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
I know why: apparrently Amazon changed the authentication method, and the answer lies somewhere here:
http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/AWSECommerceService/latest/DG/index.html?RequestAuthenticationArticle.html
I have created and downloaded my private key file and X.509 certificate file, but am not sure where to make the rest of the changes they describe.
Can anybody help? Is the original creator of Amazon Store anywhere out there?
Many thanks in advance for any help! You have NO IDEA what a huge help it would be for me to get this working!!!
Michelle

Hi,
According to your description, I am afraid your problem is out of support in windows store app. Apache is a  third party web service. We cannot support it.

  • Publish PL/SQL package as a web service without using Oracle AS?

    Hello, my question is:
Can I publish a PL/SQL package as a web service in Oracle10g directly from the
database and/or the oracle http server, without needing Oracle Application
    Server?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
    there is a tutorial:

I think you need Oracle AS, because you need an instance which "talks" http....

  • Sudden onset issue with eprint & enabling any app or web services

    Hello everyone,
I have a case in with HP, and have spent 4+ hours on the phone with the eprint support folks and the corporate support folks. Unfortunately they are now gone for the weekend, and I am still stuck here with a nonfunctioning system - and need to leave this weekend on business (need a functioning business printer!)
I am hoping someone here can help.
    I have a x576dw MFP
Connected hardwired to a Netgear router
Worked great with eprint services (configured and printing daily) for 1+ month
11pm last night I sent several jobs to the printer and noticed today they weren't there. I checked the printers web print server, and found that the IP settings had not changed (of course) from when it worked the day before. The same IP, same DNS, same default gateway etc.
I ran through all of the scenarios/fixes I could find online, from changing to wireless and testing, changing to wired and testing with DHCP, changing to wired & testing with static but a different IP outside of the DHCP range, changing the router that the printer sits on (I have 3 routers), changing the link config, changing the primary and secondary DNS to only be the two Google addresses (8.8 and 4.4), etc etc etc.
ePrint ran through (frustratingly) exactly the same steps with me and decided it was a printer issue. They handed me off to the corporate guys who (of course) wanted to do yet exactly those same steps. I did just to get through it.. (note I can print fine on the LAN from all routers), and at the end the support tech told me to try a restore to defaults and start over again.
Did that (gr) - same error. When I go to even enable eprint or apps it says "Web Services could not be enabled." I get the same error on the web interface for the printer.
Help! Im at a total loss here and HP wants to blame the eprint team, the eprint team wants to blame corporate solutiosn HP!
(Other notes.. I did check firmware, it's up to date. I did check web software, also up to date)
    Frustrated tired business chick!

  • Java app with web service and servlets

Hi. I intend to make a java application which exposes some methods as a web service and as jsp/servlets. It's core functionality is not really web centric, but its more a java app with a web tier. I am not sure about how the architecture of such a system would look like using the java platform. I currently see three options:
    1. Run everything in a servlet container like tomcat. I hesitate to do this because i would be putting a lot of functionality which isn't about the web into a servlet container. Also, I have a lot of application scope data that is maintained and shared by all servlets/web services. However, it would be really easy just to put everything into tomcat and use ServletContext to maintain some global objects.
    2. Use a Java EE to seperate application/business logic and data access into session beans and entity beans. I hesitate to this because it seem a bit overkill because the system isn't very big or complex right now. It also means that I would have to learn to use EJB's instead of just using some POJOs.
    3. Run the web tier in a servlet container and the main app in a separate JVM, and then connect the tier by sending serialized objects over TCP sockets. I don't like writing network code but at least there is some separation of the tiers.
What would you do? Maybe I have overlooked a much better solution to the problem?
Let me just say that the system is the product of a student project spanning one semester, so it's important to choose the RIGHT solution (architectural-wise) instead of the something quick and dirty that is hard to defend.

    jschell wrote:
Run everything in a servlet container like tomcatTomcat is a JEE container. Now I am confused. Maybe you mean Glassfish? Tomcat is definitely a web container(?).
Let me just say that the system is the product of a student project spanning one semester, so it's important to choose the RIGHT solution (architectural-wise) That pretty much makes it impossible then.
    1. A "Right" solution is generally only proven by time.
    2. It requires a great deal of knowledge about the business domain.Yeah, you are right. Let be try to rephrase it. What solution (pattern) would be considered the most common or appropriate when you have a Java App and want to expose a few methods as a website and web service?
I hesitate to do this because i would be putting a lot of functionality which isn't about the web into a servlet container. Also, I have a lot of application scope data that is maintained and shared by all servlets/web servicesHuh? Do you already have an exposed web service? If you already have a server which other clients communicate then where does this functionality that you don't want to be tomcat running now? Or where do you think that you want to run it? And if you are or do run it somewhere else then tomcat could access it the same way any other client accesses that server.Sorry, that sentence was written badly. I don't have anything right now. What I meant to write was that I will have a lot of application scope data, objects that are kept in memory as long as the server is running, shared by multiple servlet instances.

  • Picklist questions - Web Services

We would like to get the valid values of certain picklists and move them (refresh daily for instance) to our MySQL DB to validate prior to inserting in CRMOD.
    1) Can we get only valid values when we do our WS call? If so, how and can it be done using WS1.0 and WS2.0? I tried exporting all picklists and it appears that all values are exported, not only the valid ones.
    2) Since some values are entered on French Websites, we would also like to validate if French values are valid. Is there a way using WS to get the valid French values as well? If so, how and can it be done using WS1.0 and WS2.0? In the export, translated terms don't show.
    Thanks.

From what I can see when I export, two users (one with language = French and the other with language = English) would be required to get all values for both languages. Then, there seems to be no way to "connect" both - no common Id that I can see when I export the data. How could we use Web services to get all French and all English values in a same table, allowing us to map one to the other?

  • XDK Beta and J2EE app with web services

Does anyone have experienced problems by using the XML parser from XDK v10/v9204? I have created a custom library to point to the XDK's parser and deleted the Oracle XML parser v2 included in JDev. My application also includes Oracle SOAP... and I was wondering if this configuration will run? Having Oracle SOAP and a Parser different from the original one? Will this work?

I think you will have problems regardless of the approach you take. I have followed up on this and here are the choices you have to use the new 9.2.0.4 parser, as I understand it, in your application:
    1. Delete/backup the old xmlparserv2.jar and replace it with the new one. As there seems to be some new dependencies associated with it (for example xmlmesg.jar), you have to make sure this too is included.
    2. When you start OC4J you can pass in the -Xbootclasspath parameter the location of your jar files (e.g. the new parser and associated files). Those files will override the ones that are hardwired into OC4J - e.g.
    java -Xbootclasspath/a:D:\temp\xdk\lib\xmlparserv2.jar -jar oc4j.jar
I did option one and then tried working with a number of different Web services that previously worked out of the box and they no longer worked - I got a number of parser errors during the build and run phases.
What this suggests to me, and I believe this is how Oracle Support would treat this, is that the XDK 9.2.0.4 can be used stand alone and the components should work together. If you try to engineer the 9.2.0.4 XDK into the 9.0.3 OC4J/JDev environment, it may or may not work but you unfortunately won't be supported as the only supported configuration is that which is shipped as a product. As far as I know that has been the way the one off XDK's have generally been treated unless it was subsequently indicated by Oracle Support that a particular one-off XDK fixed issues - as far as I know that has not been said for XDK 9.2.0.4 and the 9.0.3 OC4J/JDev stack.
In your case because you would like to use SOAP, the soap.jar that ships with the XDK and should work with the XDK stack is unfortunately out of date. Your natural reaction to try to use the updated one is however where you will run into trouble as no one has regression tested 9.2.0.4 against the 9.0.3 soap.jar files.
Sorry for the long answer but hopefully it clarifies.
    Mike.

  • Deployment step of testing an app or web service

We're running into a snag, and after much rveiew of the docs, the forum and google, I thought I better give the community a chance to address my snag head-on:
Upper mgmt has asked that we switch JDev 11g from going to Weblogic to Tomcat6 when in testing mode. I find plenty that speaks to end-phase deployment, but nothing that says how to move midstream deployment (during dev/testing) to use a different app server, and our need is for Tomcat6.
On another thread (Re: jdeveloper 11g and Apache tomcat 6.0.x it seemed that I had some useful info for deployment of a finished app, but could not tell if this was also needed (or needed at all with 11g) for testing.
    Help!

The basics of using another server instead of the integrated WLS are:
Set up a connection to Tomcat from inside JDeveloper - you can then use this connection to package and deploy your application.
Alternatively you can use Ant scripts in JDeveloper to do the deploy for you.
You can set up remote debugging for your project and debug the code while it is running on the Tomcat server.

  • Question About Web Service Endpoint

Is there a way to specify the endpoint of a Web Service that exposes a Data Source?
For example, if I have a Liquid Data Control jcx with a Java package of foo.bar and the corresponding jws file is also in this package, then the web service endpoint will be http://myserver/myproject/foo/bar/mywebservice.jws.
Is there a way to change this to say something like http://myserver/myproject/services/mywebservice.jws.
    Thanks.

JWS files are created by Workshop. Try posting on the Workshop newsgroup or check edocs.

  • Web Service on localhost

I have a question regarding Web Service. I am developing a
Flash Application that runs on Macromedia Flash Projector. The
Flash app uses web service to communicate with server. Both flash
and server sit on the same machine.
The Web Service works fine, most of the time. When the
machine gets disconnected from the network while both Flash
Application and Server are running, the Web Service will fail (ie,
    PendingCall.onFault() is called).
The strange thing is that, when machine gets disconnected
from network *before* Flash Application and Server is up, Web
    Service works fine.
    Any idea is highly appreciated.
    TIA,
    -Pardo

You have to add your certificate to the JSSE trust store, which is by default lib/security/jssecacerts or, if that doesn't exist, lib/security/cacerts in the JRE directory. See http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/security/jsse/JSSERefGuide.html.
This must be for the JRE you use for the webservice client of course.

  • PL/SQL web service--all users share the same database session

Hi, Is anyone else running into this? If I set a package variable in a pl/sql package through the web service from one client and then connect with another client, I can see the value of the package variable set by the first client. So it appears that instead of being 'stateless', as the documentation claims, that all users are actually connecting to the very same session--and sharing the same memory and variable values.
When I test my application by myself, I don't run into any problems. But the application I'm working on allows over 1000 students to select dorm rooms concurrently. The timing for that large a group is fine enough that I do have more than one person executing the same section of code simultaneously. This is a serious problem! I'm going to try using pragma serially reuseable on my packages to see if that will take care of it.
Has anyone else run into this problem? What do you do about it? Is this an issue with the web service? Or the application server?

    Hello!
I have a question. You seem to be getting somewhere. In the reference (in your post) there is no mention of web.xml Is it a generated file or a file created by you? I am getting IOException error when generating EAR file. What could be wrong? Please help

    Comments -
The web service operation only has input message. The input message consists of a complex type as seen in WSDL.
    Questions -
    1. This is my first attempt in invoking a web service from pl/sql program. Is the code in SOAP body correct as mapped to the complex type in WSDL ?
    2. As seen from the dbms_out - the last message before ORA-12560 is 5.5, that means the call is erroring at following code line -
    http_req:= utl_http.begin_request ------ what am I doing wrong here ?
    3. The web service is SSL as seen from WSDLand needs a username/password for access - which is being performed by following code line -
    utl_http.set_authentication(http_req, '<username for webservice>', '<password for webservice user>'); ------- is that correct ?
    4. I am not using any proxy server - should I be using it ? When is it necessary to use proxy ?
    Appreciate any help.
    Thanx.

Oracle is hosted by HOST A - this is where the pl/sql program resides.
The Web Service being accessed by pl/sql program is hosted by HOST B and there are 4 firewalls in between.
Oracle was not even able to establish connection to web services host.
Escalated the issue with networking folks and they resolved the connectivity problem.
    Hope that helps.

  • Exposing legacy-system's service using web services

    Hi everybody,
I have questions about how web services can be used with legacy system.
Lets say I have a server serving stock data. The server is just POJO, it isnt web module, doesnt run on any J2EE container and client will request for data using my proprietary API which run over TCP/IP. My question is that what is the best practice or widely used pattern for exposing my stock service through web services.
Im not a web service expert so I think the easiest patter may be using web services as an adapter for my API. Ill use jax-rpc to create web services StockWS.war and deploy it on a web server running on the same machine with my stock server. The web services will, in turn, internally use my proprietary API to request data.
I can see 2 problems in the above approach.
    1. The need of web server. Administrator needs to start 2 processes; stock server and the web server containing StockWS.war. It would be great if I can get everything work in one process. Is there any framework or API that my stock server can internally use to intercept soap request over HTTP so that I dont need a web server and everything is encapsulated in one process?
    2. Performance. There will be my API sit between web services runtime layer and my stock server which may cause performance issue. If I can find a framework Ive mentioned in problem1 then I can get rid of the API layer.
    Please ignore my grammar mistakes.
Any suggestion is welcome, and if you have experiences integrating web services with your legacy system, feel free to share it here.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
With regards to your statemetn "SDN downloaded document says to Generate Webservice URL through ABAP"   <- can you tell me more please? references/links/attachment?
As far as I am aware, that the type of web service required for integration it a 'normal' Netweaver Web app server web service.
There are limitations about the complexity of the WSDL - see Notes:
1653655 - Limitations in Web Service WSDL URL usage in Xcelsius 4.0
1703839 - Limitations of Web service usage in Xcelsius / Dashboard Design
also , changes between SAP versions requires reworking the WSDL
Note 1625091 - The WSDL URL for web service which generated in SAP Enterprise Central Component cannot be loaded into Xcelsius

    H

  • Location of the JARs for BO Web services SDK

    Hi,
I want to use the web services SDK to access the crystal reports on a crystal reports 2011 server. I added all the JARs in the  C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\java\lib folder but none of them contain classes from the com.businessobjects.dsws package which is root package for the web services SDK.
    My questions:
Where are the JARs located  ?
Is there sample code that excerices the usage of the BO BI 4.0 web services SDK ?
    Thanks

  • J2EE Web services and JAX-RPC

    Hello..
While working with J2EE web services using JDeveloper and OC4J, I noticed that it really doesn't confirm to Sun's JAX-RPC standard. The Web Service interface class does not extend the "Remote" and all methods don't throw "RemoteException" as mandated by JAX-RPC standard.
    I have few questions:
    (1) Are the OC4J J2EE web services completey different from JAX-RPC based web services.??
    (2) Does Oracle have any implementation of JAX-RPC??
    (3) Is Sun the only one promoting and implementing the JAX-RPC standard? Or are there other players?
    thanks...

    (1) Are the OC4J J2EE web services completey different from JAX-RPC based web services.??
OC4J J2EE Web Services originate from Oracle/Apache SOAP with several differences:
    a. A model where each type of implementation gets a specific servlet (e.g. one for EJB's, one for PL/SQL, one for stateless and stateful Java classes. Architecturally, you can see the picture here:
    http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/ias/doc_library/903doc_otn/generic.903/b10004/orawebservices.htm#1024808
(scroll down a half page for the picture)
    b. The packaging of the Web services rather than using the Apache SOAP registration mechanism uses something closer to JSR 109 (also known as Web Services for J2EE, part of J2EE 1.4 with JAX-RPC, SAAJ [SOAP API forAttachments in Java] and JAXP [Java API for XML Parsing]), where the Web service is packaged as an ordinary ear file for deployment.
Oracle built this implementation by extrapolating from the JAX-RPC documentation that was available last year before it was a final specification in an effort to release a production quality Web services implementation that was aligned with JAX-RPC. It has been through two releases - Oracle9iAS 9.02 and Oracle9iAS 9.0.3 and is now being evolved to JAX-RPC as we move to J2EE 1.4.
    (2) Does Oracle have any implementation of JAX-RPC??
We are planning to release a JAX-RPC implementation in the new year (I don't have specific dates yet) on OC4J. The production implementation of this will be as seamless a migration as possible from the existing implementation. Oracle9i JDeveloper will also add support for JAX-RPC as a 3rd option in its list of choices available. You can get a sense of how such a migration would work by running the Web services wizard in JDev for Apache SOAP and then, in a separate project, running it for Oracle9iAS J2EE Web Services - imagine there being another option for JAX-RPC. The work to migrate should be as simple as running a wizard or command line utility (known as the Web Services Assembler tool in Oracle9iAS).
    (3) Is Sun the only one promoting and implementing the JAX-RPC standard? Or are there other players?
Pretty much every one in the Java side of industry will be implementing JAX-RPC. The important time to note is when J2EE 1.4 is released ... sometime in the new year ... I believe around March but may be mistaken. Part of J2EE 1.4 is required support for JAX-RPC, SAAJ, Web Services for J2EE etc etc. This will standardize the implementation of Web services. Oracle, like others in the industry, supports the standard protocols, (SOAP), interfaces (WSDL) and registries (UDDI) - what J2EE 1.4 does is standardize the packaging, deployment and implementation (the wrappers generated by the tooling).
My guess is that around JavaOne (June 2003) there will be a rash of announcements from J2EE vendors announcing support of JAX-RPC and J2EE 1.4 (or early implementations) as we will be in the same race that happened in 2001/2002 when J2EE 1.3 was the spec to announce implementations around.
    Mike.
