Amount in words in PDF

hi all,
I have a requirement where in i have to print amount in words. The user enters the amount in table rows, and the total in amount gets printed in another text field. I have put the code for sum in the exit event of the rows(cell) this is done through formcalc.
Now i have requirement to print the amount in words
1. Is there any function like SPELL in form calc? (i doubt there would be one...!!)
2. If there is no such funcrion, then how to implement this functionality? Can i some how call the FM SPELL in the interactive form or may be generate a event that would call FM SPELL in my WD componentand then print the result back in my interactive form?

I haven't had much experience with Interactive forms inside WDJ, but I think this will work...
In the Submit To SAP button, this code exists...

This code triggers an event call to the backend.
What I would do is have a variable in your form that you set just before you click the button so you know what "event" you want to trigger, then of course, set it to null inside the method...  when it goes back into the method in your web dynpro, you could then take the number, call the function module, and return the value to the screen. 
In theory, this should work.

  • Why is my word and pdf files so large? How can I reduce the size?

    My document contains mostly photos from a database via a path to the actual jpeg photos on disk.
    There are 39 jpeg photos + a small amount of text with each photo.
    The 39 jpeg photos on the disk add up to be 5.79 mb.
    If I export the crystal reports document as [Microsoft Word (97-2003) Non Editable] the, the file size is 36.8 mb.
    If I export the same data as a [Microsoft Word (97-2003) Editable] the file size is only 3.1 mb.
    That is a difference of 33.7 mb! Why?
    Also, when I export the same data to a PDF file it is much larger than I think it should be; 12.7 mb.
    Why is my word and PDF files so large?
    How can I reduce the size of the word and PDF files? (without reducing the photo quality).
    Are there any tools to post process the Word or PDF files to reduce the file size?

  • Problems converting word in PDF, graphics

    I use Acrobat X Pro and Word 2003 SP3.
    Photos change their size in the PDF.
    If the photo-size was never changed in Word, the photos stay as they were, but if the size of an inserted photo was slightly changed in word, this photo is in the PDF in its "original size" (the size it had when it was imported). Of course I try not to change photo- or graphic-size in word, but I took over a big amount of word-docs with inserted graphics and photos and I do not have all the inserted photos to change their size an reimport them.
    So maybe someone knows, how to change this habit. Or has a hint which settings in AcrobatX I could change. Or a hint whether I should leave Acrobat and better change settings in Word. Acrobat9 didn't do that sort of thing. So it's probably rather an AcrobatX-problem.
    Either way I can't give this layout to my boss.

    Never had that problem. I suspect it is a word problem and you should be able to find out by printing from WORD to paper. If you want to play with a copy of the WORD file, right click on one of the graphics and select the Compress option. This will reduce the picture pixels to better fit the document. Then try a print. If this fixes the problem, then you have a potential fix and know it is a WORD issue most likely. You might consider updating WORD as well as Acrobat.

    1) there iam calculating total amount.At the bottom of my page that amount should display in words.How to do that???

    Hi Ani,
              For 1st question:
    1. select the that field. goto Properties
    2. In General Tab u can find Link to Textbox
    3. In that textbox select the field-id of the Total Amount
    4. Now goto Format tab, select the Amount in words check box 
            This is the way u can print Amount in words.
            For 2nd Question:
    1. select the repetitive area in Field Index window
    2. Now goto Properties Window, select the Border Tab
    3. there, in low textbox, put 1.

    Checked to see how much free space there is on the startup disk lately?
    Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.

    If disk space is not the issue, booting in Safe Mode deletes system caches that may help.
    A Safe Mode boot takes longer then a normal boot so be patient.
    Once you see the Desktop, click the Apple menu icon top left corner of the screen.
    From the drop down menu click Restart.
    See if that makes a difference ...

    Microsoft does Not make an iPad compatible version of their Office programs such as Word and Excel.  But as Johnthe AppleFan pointed out, you can use Apple's Pages to to open Word Files.

  • Trying to convert word to pdf and getting error message using Ver. 7

    I what sent a word doc by a correspondent of mine which I tried to convert to a pdf. I right clicked the doc on my desk top and chose "convert to PDF". It looked as it has all the other times but after it had opened word it came up with an error window/message of "Missing PDFmaker files." "Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?" and then a yes or no button. If I hit no it closes everything if I hit yes it acts like it's installing something and after a while it tells me that the computer needs to be restarted for changes to take affect. I have run it twice now and it doesn't change anything.

    You did not indicate the version of WORD. If it is WORD 2007, then you can not do this function with AA7. Try opening the file in WORD and printing to the Adobe PDF printer. If that works, then look for the PDF Maker options in WORD (create PDF). If you find them, then try that. If they do not show but the print worked, then you indeed have an issue with PDF Maker - probably either the macro is not activated in WORD or the version of WORD is 2007.

  • Word to PDF does not keep hyperlinks in Table of Contents ?

    I have used my free trial of Adobe CreatePDF before purchasing the annual subscription.
    I was surprised to see that the PDF document did not keep the clickable hyperlinks that Word uses in a Table of Contents. As this is the exact same behaviour as the "Save as PDF ..." option that I have natively available on my computer I don't see the point of paying a subscription to the service. Or am I doing something wrong?

One of the things I can do is to select the page numbers in the Table of Contents and add a 'link' to each. But this is a VERY cumbersome process. Actually, I have to create a link for each page number, one at a time, on a table of contents that may consist of in excess of 50 entries. As I have a collection of 50-odd documents and am on a schedule of distributing new versions every two weeks or so, this procedure is completely unusable. Hence my search for a (paid) service that converts my documents while preserving the hyperlinks of the Word-created Table of Contents. Either I am doing something wrong or such service does simply not exist ...

    You are correct in that the workflow you described will not produce links in the resulting PDF files.  The steps that Lori outlined work great if you're working on Office for Windows in terms of getting the links to work when converting using the CreatePDF service. 
    In order to make this work on the Mac, you'll have to take a few extra steps within Office first.
    You're going to have to repeat this step for each item in your TOC.  While this will be time-consuming for a 150-page document, it will work.
    Within your TOC, highlight the entire entry listing (e.g. Topic 1.........3)
    Once the entire line is highlighted, choose Insert > Hyperlink
    Click 'Document' to select a location within the current document.
    Under the 'Anchor' option, either type in the Heading/Sub-heading (must be exact) of the page you want the hyperlink to attach to or click 'Locate' and find the proper Heading/Sub-heading within the structure.
    As I said, this will probably be time-consuming on such a large document, but it will work. 
    Unfortunately Office for Mac just simply isn't as full-featured as its Windows counterpart.

    I am not able to e-mail or have a 100 plus page report received and need your support. It contains a combination of MS Word and pdf files and attachments.

    If your mail service allows all of that to be sent as attachments or however you are attempting that then it's possible the email server or servers receiving the email do not allow attachments that large.
    You say you are sending "a combination of MS Word and pdf files and attachments". I've never sent anything like that. I have zipped various files into a zip file then attached that to an email for sending.
    Googles mail appears to allow a total of 25 megabytes of attachments in a single email.
    Yahoo mail appears to allow a total of 25 megabytes also.
    Microsofts mail appears to allow a total of 20 megabytes of attachments in a single email.
    Another option would be to upload everything to your onedrives public folder and provide a link for others to download all of it in the email you send out.
    A single users onedrive supposedly can have up to 10 gigabytes loaded onto it. I suppose all of that could be used by the public folder but maybe not.
