An application like Winpopup?

I have two computers in the same room. I want to send a message from one to the other. How do I do this? I'm not interested in running an AIM-type message system over the internet. I'd just like my message to go from one Mac to the other, without doing any scripting. I can put a txt file on a flash drive and walk it over. I'd like something simpler than that.

It would be helpful to know what Macs they are and what version/s of OS X they are running.

How do you "pause" an open application, like Mac automatically does when the memory is full?
I would like to do so proactively when I am not using a certain program but need to keep it open, and I want to free up computer resources.
In other words, I want to keep a given program open, but stop it from "thinking".

There is an application that I can only open a set number of times before it expires. Every time the program closes, you get one less use out of it. I want to use it as long as possible, so I thought I would just keep it open all the time. However, it consistently turns on the fan on the computer, so I imagine it uses a lot of resources. I got the idea after the Force Quit program "paused" it once after getting overloaded with all the apps I had open. It stopped the fan, and I was able to open it and run it again later with no problems. The tricky thing with trying to intentionally overload the system is that it's a hit or miss on which open program the OS will pause (to my knowledge).

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

I try to develop an application with Oracle Application Express together with Oracle XE.
Oracle XE is installed on a different computer.
I'm working to a different computer that is a client. Also the application is already (partial) created some users with different rights are also created (developers, end users and workspace administrator). When I try to connect like end user, I get this message you have below:
Logout (link to logout of application)
Access denied by Application security check (message)
Return to application. (link to return to application)

This is the setting in this moment for my application. I tried also to set different security check for every one page and then try to connect only to that page only.
Also I have some endusers that must to connect to my application like enduser. Answer is same.
I try to setup authorisation schema properly using database users (I've done some users in my XE database with same name and same password). Also, I get same answer.
I'll try step by step all possible combinations for security check, because there is no logic answer for my mind in this moment with all these security schemas. See here what they are saying in help files:
Application Express Authentication checks the user name and password against the Oracle Application Express account repository.
There is a nonsense answer that I get from application part, because a developer account is working very well.

In addition to great reply (+5), basically this is similar to CUCM which you need to have in order to run Unity Connection (or you could have CME). So, if you have CUCM running it will be very similar concept. If this is new install you want to definitely go the virtual path.

I'm not sure how related is this with the thing that happened to me but here it goes.
A while ago I couldn't have two applications that can use the audio channels at the same time. For instance, if I had a paused movie with VLC I could play a video on YouTube but with no sound. Is that your case? Or it doesn't work at all?

Hi,
could anyone advise which iView or other portal application I have to use, to get an application like word, excel, powerpoint or *.exe on Clinet side (e.g. notepad.exe) working.
Solution should be: I will klick in the fine navigation on the link word. Word should be open. ALso it should work with other applications.
Is there any solution for this? Maybe even a standard solution (without coding).
I have created km document iView (.html page) to link to the applications via java scripts in the html code. But this solution ist not the one i am searching for.

Hi .
You can use these method in sequence as follow:
1) CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>file_open_dialog
this method let the user choose a file form his computer ad return the file path (ex.: C:/..../file.txt)
2) CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_upload
this method upload the file and return the file content.
After you got the content of the file you can store it inot a custom table .
There are similira merhod for the inverse problem (file download).

Go with Libre Office! It's better than Open Office, and it's very similar to MS Office. It's just as easy to use and very similar. Here's a screenshot I took so you can get an idea of just how similar it is.
