Analyzing the graph of a given output data

Hi,
I have this graph
this data is graphed by excel from an output file of a data recorder.
i am looking at 4 main channels.
channel 2 or 7 (they are pretty much the same..purple is behind pink)
channel 8 (dark blue line) 22C room temp
channel 9 (read line) 37C body temp
channel 10 (green line) 60 C extreme temp
from my recorder, i will be doing this test through out, i am not sure how often but i know for sure that these 3 temps are the only values i am looking for.
22, 37, and 60.
is anyway to calculate the time it takes from 22C to 90% of 37C.
how would i put this logic? i want to do it for every jump in the graph.
from 22-37, 37-60, 22-37, 37-60
i dont need to calculate the time it takes from 60-22
can someone guy me in the right directly.

How to display null values in the graphs, when i select a date range?

Hi,
Can you please help me in achieving the below requirement:
We have a date promt, i have selected the date range from 12-Oct-2009 to 15-Oct-2009 and clicked on the go button.
In the above date range, data is only availabe on 14-Oct-2009. here the requirement is to display as all the records (12th, 13th , 14th & 15th) in the bar graph.
Currently the graph view is displaying the data only for 14-Oct-2009 in the bar graph.
If data is not available it should display in the bar graph as empty for that particular dates.
Help is highly apprieciated.

The plotted data on the graph disappear when clearing graphs!??

Hi folks
I got this vi, with two graphs, and one chart. I got this chart coz i want the data plots to strip in the graphs.
but when the VI runs, and i pres stop and run again, the data plot disappears, they are then beeing plotted in the back ground or something like that.!
Also when clearing the graphs the data plottet disappears.
How can I overcome that ?

Hello Zamzam,
same again:
1) I click "Clear" when the graphs are not filled with data: graphs are cleared, new data appear from left and fill the graphs.
2) I click "clear" when the graphs are "filled" (the x-scrollbar shows
more data the display is showing): graphs get cleared, new data appear
from left and fill the graph again...
3) I click "stop" at any time: vi stops, actual display stays.

On a NI6534 card, may I change the REQ period when continously outputing data ?

The NI6534 card can continously outputing data by enabling the onboard memory looping mode of NI 6534 devices. In that specific case, is it possible to change the datastream frequency by using the command "DIG_Block_PG_Config (deviceNumber, group, config, reqSource, timebase, reqInterval, externalGate)" without interrupting the dataflow and reload the data to the memory?

You will not be able to use the DIG_Block_PG_Config function to change the REQ frequency on the fly. You will have stop the pattern output operation, reconfigure the pattern generation, change the REQ frequency, and then restart the operation.
If you are needing to change the frequency of the pattern generation on the fly, another option would be to use an external clock for the pattern output operation. You could use a counter/timer device to generate a clock signal (you can change the frequency of an output signal from a counter/timer on the fly) and use that clock as external clock for your 6534 pattern generation. We have counter/timer devices that I've linked to below.

Dynamically changing the Graph in Obiee 11g

Is there a way to reflect the latest data in a graph by clicking any hierarchy level ?
say i have top level company----->>department------->>account.
if i come to department level then the graph should display department data in the graph.But in my case ,the graph always shows company level data.

In Repository File try creating a parent root node called 'All' above the Department in your hierarchy and check it it will work ...

Is it possible to delete a plot with using mouse to select it on the graph control?

For example, when I use PlotLine to plot thousands of lines on the graph control, I want to delete some of them, but there is thousands of plotHandle generated.
How can I get the plotHandle of the specific line on the graph control with using mouse to select it?
If I record information of the lines, ex. the plotHandle and the coordinates, on a table or list, etc. , I have to compare the information of lines to get the plotHandle of the specific line.
Is there any user-friendly way to delete a plot by select it on the graph control?

Sure! Look at the example located in \samples\userint\graphcursors for an example of how to accomplish this task.
Briefly:
The cursor must be in "Snap to point" mode
(To be confirmed) The graph must be in "Retain" data mode
You must have a callback for the graph control
You can use GetGraphCursorIndex to retrieve the plot handle
GetGrpahCursor retrieves values of cursor position in engineering units

How do I write a vi that will save graph data and text data (related to the graph) so the next time I want to view the graph data the text data is included in the read vi?

I am new at writing vi's and hope you may be able to help. I would like to create a vi that will graph measurements taken from a daq device. I would like to include text data that a user can choose from (example: machine number, test circuit, load cell type) that will stay with the graph so when the graph is viewed at a later time the text data (explaining parts of the graph) will display with the graph data. I have included a vi I am using to capture and display a force value. Any help would be greatly appreicated.

What you want is a DATALOG file:
When you save a file, use the BUNDLE function to bundle your machine number, test circuit, whatever (include a few spare fields), plus your graph data. Get the graph data from the source, or use a local variable of the graph itself.
Wire the bundle output to the DATALOG TYPE of a NEW FILE function. (I presume you'll use a FILE DIALOG set to SAVE FILE to choose a file path).
Write the same bundle output to the DATA input of a WRITE FILE function.
Use a CLOSE FILE function to (ahem) close the file.
When you want to read a file, use a FILE DIALOG set to EXISTING FILE (or some other means) to specify what file to read. Wire the same cluster type to the DATALOG TYPE of the FILE DIALOG, so that it will only
offer files of the correct type.
When you have a file path chosen, wire the bundle to the DATALOG TYPE input of a FILE OPEN operation.
Use a FILE READ to read a single cluster - the output of FILE READ will be a cluster of the right type.
Use a CLOSE FILE function to....
Out of the FILE READ function, you can UNBUNDLE BY NAME the data and send to the graph and the other fields, or, if you're clever, you can use a cluster on the screen, and not unbundle it. That's harder though, since you probably want the text fields to be controls (inputs) and the graph to be an indicator (output).

One of the problems that comes with these tricks for variable-rate acquisition is being able to match up sample data with the time that it was sampled.
If you weren't using either of E-series board's counters, there is a nifty solution to this! You'll be using 1 of the counters to generate the variable-rate sampling clock. You can then use the 2nd counter to perform a buffered period measurement on the output of the 1st counter. This gives you a hw-timed measurement of every sampling interval. You would need to keep track of a cumulative sum of these periods to generate a hw-accurate timestamp value for each sample.
Note: the very first buffered period measurement is the time from starting the 2nd counter until the first active edge from the 1st. For your app, you should ignore it.

Can you change the Graphs Colors in BEx Web Analyzer?

I have few queries I have developed via BEx Query Designer which I am opening from BEx Web Analyzer in portals. Unfortunately the colors in the Graphs are not very pleasant. I was wondering if there is a way we can customize the colors which is given by the standard.
I am aware that we can do this is BEx Report Designer. But I would like to do this is BEx Query Designer.

Hi Shanka,
There is no option as such in BEx Query Designer.
You can manipulate and play with colors only in Report designer or Web Application Designer.
In Bex Query designer, you will find only exceptions which are related to colors but chart colors cannot be manipulated in query designer.
If you are executing the report in workbook, you can change accordingly as it is excel.

Bind the output data (Xml) from BPEL process to ADF SelectOneChoice Control

Hello,
My requirement is to invoke a BPEL process from ADF page and display returned results in a select one choice (drop down box).
I have created a Data Control for the BPEL process through Web service data control and tried to invoke the BPEL process. I could see from the BPEL console that BPEL process is getting invoked. But the ADF doesn't bind any of the output to Select one choice.
It doesn't even show any error.
Can you plz help me how to bind the output of the BPEL process to ADF SelectOneChoice control.
The Xml Which I recieve from BPEL process is

I have selected,
Base data source as "Variables" (Currently I don't need to update any table),
List Data source as "process: getStateTransitions.process.StateTransitionsProcessResponse.stateChanges" (Web Service Data Control)
Base Data source attribute as "process_input"
List Data Source Attribute as "toState"
I can initiate the web service (BPEL process) by providing the necessary input value like 'Open' or 'Pending' or 'Assigned' but the SelectOneChoice control doesn't populate with any values.

Clearing all historical data from the graphs

Hi all,
Now that I have upgraded to 4.1.1c I want to clear all historical data and start from scratch with the graphs/stats/reporting. Is there a way to do such a thing? Could not find anything in the docs other than "clear statistics all" which seems unrelated.

The clear statistics command clears all statistical counters from the parameters given. Use this command to monitor fresh statistical data for some or all features without losing cached objects or configurations.

My performance is very slow when I run graphs. How do I increase the speed at which I can do other things while the data is being updated and displayed on the graphs?

I am doing an an aquisition and displaying the data on graphs. When I run the program it is slow. I think because I have the number of scans to read associated with my scan rate. It takes the number of seconds I want to display on the chart times the scan rate and feeds that into the number of samples to read at a time from the AI read. The problem is that it stalls until the data points are aquired and displayed so I cannot click or change values on the front panel until the updates occur on the graph. What can I do to be able to help this?

It may also be your graphics card. LabVIEW can max the CPU and you
screen may not be refreshing very fast.

I have a situation where i need to find the start day of the period for a given date. is there a way to know that. i want to use that in my report. i enter the date from my report(i have date parameter), depends on the date, i want to display the start day

According to your description, you are using Analysis Services as a data source for the report, the cube has hierarchy: Fyear, FQuarter, FPeriod, fweek, Fdate. You want to add a date parameter to the report, after you changed value of the parameter, the
report will return the first day of FPeriod.
To achieve your goal, we need to add a parameter to the report, then use the parameter in mdx query. For detail information, please refer to the following steps:
In the Report Data pane, right-click on a dataset created from a SQL Server Analysis Services data source type, and then click Query. The MDX query designer opens in Design mode.
On the toolbar, click Design to toggle to Query mode.
On the MDX query designer toolbar, click Query Parameters symbol. The Query Parameters dialog box opens.
In the Parameter column, click <Enter Parameter>, and then type the name of a parameter.
In the Dimension column, choose a value from the drop-down list.
In the Hierarchy column, choose a value from the drop-down list.
In the Default column, from the drop-down list, select a single value.
Click OK.
In query designer dialog box, type the mdx query like below:

Is there any way to UPDATE the XML file attached to a Data Definition (XML Publisher > Data Definition) using a standard package or procedure call or may be an API from backend? I am creating an XML dynamically and I want to attach it to its Data Definition programmatically using SQL.
Please let me know if there is any oracle functionality to do this.
If not, please let me know the standard directories on application/database server where the XML files attached to Data Definitions are stored.
For eg, /$APPL_TOP/ar/1.0/sql or something.
