  • BW Frontend and Backend and their interface

    Hi Experts,
    Heard often about this, but only in a  very abstryct way. I didn't find any proper definition or boundary in  any document
    or threat in SDN or elsewhere.
    Could anyone please eyplain eaxctly what SAP understands among the expressions "Frontend and Backend" ,
    is this delimited on hardware or on software? What is the interface? Are there different interfacres (WEB, EXCEL...).
    Thanks and Regards

    Thank you for your input.  Your comment helps but I would like more info.  It was never part of the process to have to modify the application when hierarchies were changed, is this now the case?  BPC users should fully process a dimension, optimize AND modify the application when a hierarchy is changed?  Should that be done in all instances when hierarchies change?  This seems inconsistent because changing hierarchies never required a "save" of the appliaction in 4.2 and I did not believe it required a "modify" of the application in 5.1 or 7.0.
    There are discrepencies between the frontend and backend of the application after dimensions are processed and optimizes are run.  The only thing that fixes it is the modify of the application (with the two check boxes checked).
    Thanks again for the info!  I think I am close to getting the answer I am looking for

  • How to open a native PDF file in Android using AIR?

    Hello.I have created a flex mobile project to open and show a native PDF file in Android. I have tried three different methods below , but  I failed.
    1. I created a stagewebview and used "stageWebView.loadURL". I can see the PDF View in emulator but it didn't work in Android Pad (SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab 10.1). It showed blank screen.
    Note that I have installed AIR 3.3.
    stageWebView1.loadURL(new File(new File("app:/assets/ZUGH-2P.pdf").nativePath).url);
    2. I created a stagewebview and used stagewebview to load javascript. The javascript could run in emulator, but it didn't work in Android Pad. I failed again.
    stageWebView1.loadURL(new File(new File("app:/assets/JavaScripthtml.html").nativePath).url);
    3.  I imported stagewebviewbridge, which is the extended version of stagewebviewbridge. I created a stagewebviewbridge , but it could not run in emulator. I failed again.
    stageWebViewbridge1.loadLocalURL( "appfile:/assets/pdf.html");
    could any one give me some suggestions? Many thanks.

    @peterpan_cafuc,
    Sorry to say that I'm not sure of the answer, either.
    One suggestion would be to try something like File.openWithDefaultApplication(), although I've never tried it on mobile.
    Also, I poked around stackoverflow, and it looks like people have done this using Android Intents, but you might have to use a Native Extension  to do this in AIR.
    Apologies that I can't be more helpful.

  • Error 3347 when playing DRM content on Android with AIR 3.9

    Hi,
    Recently we decide to upgrade our app to use AIR 3.9 SDK and apprently we can no longer watch any DRM content (both HDS and EST) on some Android devices (like Google Galaxy Nexus) anymore.
    Before we never have any problem watching our content on any Android device using AIR 3.4 but now with AIR 3.9, we get error 3347 which says "The device does not meet the Flash Access server's playback device constraints.".
    Have anyone encountered this problem before? We believe sooner or later we have to upgrade our app to latest AIR as we can no longer use our app on Nexus 7 with Android version 4.4.
    Any help will be greatly appreciate.
    Thank you.
    Jack

    Hi Hiroshi,
    Thank you very much for your quick reply.
    For your information, EST (Electronic Sell-Through) is the mp4 movie which we allows the customer to download and watch offline from their device.
    We do embed AIR 3.4 in our app and you can find the app from google Playstore:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.EzyMediaPlayer.Tablet&hl=en
    After doing a bit research, I found out that since AIR 3.8, Adobe has already made some changes inside DRMManager so from my understanding, any rooted Android device will receive error 3347 "The device does not meet the Flash Access server's playback device constraints".
    http://www.rapid7.com/db/vulnerabilities/adobe-air-cve-2013-3347
    So far, after I change the AIR SDK to 3.7, everything works as exptected so it will be great if you can confirm if we have the option in Flash Access to allow rooted Android device to watch DRM content or not(like we have option to allow the jailed break iOS device to watch DRM content).
    Thanks.

  • Hardware Requirements for Android Adobe Air Installation or certification requirement?

    Hi, Friends,
    I am newbie on Adobe Air and tried to install Air apk on my android ICS device from Google Play.
    However, it complains that the device is not compatible with the software package.
    I wonder if there are any hardware requirements or certification requirement for new android phone device on the market.
    Regards
    -Charles

    Well, my theory is it only works on 4g phones, at least with Metro PCS phones!
    Using the following 3g phones, I got "device is not compatible"
    - Hawai ascend  OS  (3g)  ~incompatible
    - HTC (3g) ~incompatible
    - Samsung Admire (3g) ~incompatible
    But after buying my $300+ 4g LG phone, also from Metro PCS, the Adobe AIR installed sucessfully.
    Also, I as fyi, noticed that Adobe Air app did not show up in the Google play list on the 3g phones.
    I hope this info helps.

  • Our EnergyWatch app crashes on Android with AIR 3.8

    Please help!
    We have been running an Android app - EnergyWatch - (available on Google Play) for about one year now. Suddenly after customers having received the 3.8 AIR upgrade the app crashes during initialisation. We are using Secure Socket API for communication, and USB debugging tells me that the app seems to crash just before it receives the ON_CONNECT event.
    Everything still works fine on iOS (still runnning an older, embedded AIR runtime)
    Everything also works fine on Windows with AIR 3.8 installed.
    I've tried two different builds:
    Flash Prof. CS 5.5, with AIR 2.6 (same build environment as the current version on Google Play)
    Flash Prof. CS 6, with AIR 3.4.
    Exactly the same behaviour on both builds.
    I really don't know what to do.
    1. Are there any changes made to the Secure Socket API, especially on Android?
    2. Could we recommend our users to downgrade the AIR runtime? If possible, where can we find the previous runtime version?
    Tomas Öquist
    Perific Technologies AB, Stockholm, Sweden

    HI, Tomas
         may i give you an advise?
       If you really want your app run stable . PLZ  package with "captive runtime" .
      In my experience.  Adobe guys  will change API Behavior ,change  API ,change everything random  except themself .   Do you remember the  ShareObject behavior changed  at  AIR3.5.
      since  they cann't be trusted , you should always embeded AIR runtime . for your users, for  yourself ,especially  for adobe .
      For all of AS3 developer ,God ,please bless us.

    Hub deployment(Frontend server) can support these customers.

    + who have ERP with old NetWeaver version. It can not be upgraded to 7.31 or 7.40 immediately
    + who want to keep minimum changes in ERP. Most of customer say this because ERP is productive and stable and want to keep it minimum changes.

  • What is the method for folder-browsing and selecting a non media file type in Android? [Air+AS3]

    Dear Gurus,
    Being a newbie, I have been searching hi & low for the method to browse and select non-media related file type in android.
    Besides the following these which I have reference from the AS3 Documentation (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/as3/dev/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d118666ade46-7fe4.html#WS5b3cc c516d4fbf351e63e3d118676a4c56-7ff0)
    var fileToOpen = File.documentsDirectory.resolvePath("");
                                  selectFile(fileToOpen);
                                  function selectFile(root:File):void
                                                 //var txtFilter:FileFilter = new FileFilter ("3D Model File", "*.obj; *.3ds;*.awd");
                                                 root.browseForOpen("Open",null);
                                                 root.addEventListener(Event.SELECT, selectedFile);
                                  function selectedFile(e:Event):void
                                                 trace(fileToOpen.nativePath + " file selected");
    I have went through the following threads yet find no clear workable solution to it.  The closest reference is written in Flex MXML, and I have no luck for converting it to AS3 as there are several properties which I can't get it right.
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/943887 | http://forums.adobe.com/message/4107990#4107990 | http://forums.adobe.com/message/4548154
    Someone did mention some possible solutions through ANE but it is just too far beyond.  Even, the closest on-the-shelf solution of ANE by http://myappsnippet.com/file-browser-air-extension/ only work best to an extent and not truely "native" as the UI is not default from Android.  It has workable I/O but poor usability; you can't skin it.
    Is there any other workaround solution to this general I/O question?  I would love to hear from everyone here.

    The short answer to my knowledge is there is nothing you can invoke from AIR to open an OS-level dialog to browse/select a file. All implementations typically are people writing their own browser. They crawl the folders/files recursively and write their own display for the files. You can see a few on SO:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12255418/as3-air-browse-for-file-on-sd-card
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/12257626/as3-get-zip-file-on-phone-from-app-file-path-t hen-unzip
    It's not to terribly hard to code something like this (especially with that starter code). Otherwise, like you found, an on-the-shelf ANE is the only way I believe you can invoke the Android Intent for a file dialog. At that point skinning won't really be terribly easy given the nature of Android users who are completely allowed to customize their UI top to bottom.
    The safest bet is just let that posted code recurse and find the files you tell it to while displaying the list to the user. You can use some pre-written GPU-level lists that you can skin yourself using FeathersUI:
    http://www.feathersui.com (uses Starling)
    Or you can use one of the Flash Pro List components which will be quite a bit slower being they're not GPU optimized like some Flex Spark components.

  • Ip is for frontend or backend?

    Is ip is for frontend,backend or both?

    The following tools are available for modeling planning scenarios:
    ●     To create the data basis, use the Data Warehousing Workbench.
    ●     To model all planning-specific metadata objects, use the Planning Modeler. The planning modeler is a Web-based application that is installed on the J2EE Engine.
    ●     To define an input-ready query to enter plan data manually, use the BEx Query Designer.
    ●     To configure Web templates, use the BEx Web Application Designer; to configure Excel applications, use the BEx Analyzer.
    You use the Data Warehousing Workbench and the various Business Explorer tools to analyze, plan and enter data.

  • Native push notifications for Android in AIR 3.6?

    Hi there,
    I'm glad we finally got the support for native iOS push notifications with AIR 3.4, however Android support is still missing.
    Is there any chance we'll get this feature with 3.6? I really don't want to use the various native extensions that are available as none of them do work properly and are fully customizable.
    Cheers!

    Seems as if no one is interested in push notifications any more.
    Also, the feature list for 3.6 doesn't include notifications, so it's is at least half a year from now till we'll see this from Adobe, if it's ever gonna happen...

  • Softkeyboard bug with rendmode GPU in Android with AIR 4.0

    Hi,
    Since AIR 4.0 beta, I have a problem with my app in GPU mode: when I invoke the SoftKeyboard, and despite the fact the keyboard doesn't overlap my textfield, the screen is panning anyway. When I close the keyboard, the display doesn't refresh itself (however when I tap some screen areas, the screen begins to reveal the tapped portion).
    In AIR 3.9, it works fine. In CPU mode, whatever the AIR version I use, it works fine too.
    I tried to set <softKeyboardBehavior>none</softKeyboardBehavior> (because I don't want any panning, like it was the case in AIR 3.8), but no effect.
    This bug occurs all the time on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 under Android 4.0.1.
    Is there a workaround for this, please?
    Thank you!
    Frédéric

    Hello,
    Could you please open a new bug report on this over at bugbase.adobe.com? Please include sample code to help us reproduce the problem. Once the bug has been added would you mind posting back with the URL so that others affected can add their votes and comments? Also, please let us know if you are able to reproduce it on some other devices.

  • Android Analytics & AIR

    Hi,
    I have both an Apple iPad and Android app. How can I see the break down in 'Analytics'?
    Is Adobe working on an Android player that comes with the Adobe Air install as part of the package? At the moment it's confusing users, as it doesn't always prompt the user to install AIR.
    Thanks

    For some reason uptill now, there has been no solutions to this.
    If you have found any solution please let me know.
    I have tried making an native extension, but the campaign parameters is sent to the intent that launches the android activity.
    Not too sure if we will be able to gain access to the same activity and parse the campaign parameters out of the intent.
