Animation SWF Problem

I can't get a SWF file to play in preview or publish mode - yet it will play in edit mode.  Is there something wrong with the SWF file?

Hi pedro-perla,
I saw the attached video where there is a visible difference between the Edit area and after published content. I suggest you to try the same in a new project and if you are still facing the issue then I doubt there could be some issue in the animation which you have created. Also please note that captivate works with AS3 animations. and if the animation which you are using is of an earlier version then it may behave erratically.
In case this is not addressing your concerns, please share the animations which you are using so that we can investigate the same from our end.
Thanks,
Subhransu

  • Animation swf in captivate : how to control it?

    Hello
    I have 3 objects in my scene :
    An Animation swf, with Visible option not actived
    A Hide button, with Visible option not actived
    A Open button, visible
    When I click the Open button, I want the animation swf and the hide button to become visible.
    I’v got two problems :
    On the Open button, I assign advanced actions :
             - Show Animation swf
             - Show StopButton
         When I just put the first action (show swf), I’ve got no problem.
         When I add the second action, only the Stop button appears. I don't understand why the second action "destroy" the first.
    When I click on the button for the first time, the swf appears, and begin to play. Then I close it on clicking the stop button. When I want to play again the animation, it begins from where it stopped the first time. I’d like it to begin from the begining each time.
    I hope my english is not too bad.
    Thanks

    About my first problem :
    The first time I click the open Button, only the Hide button appears. Then I click this hide button, to hide the hide button (the hide button hide the swf and itself).
    Then I click again to the open buton, and this time, the swf and the hide button appear.

    thanks in advance

    so can i do like this then to go to frame 3 in my loaded swf?
    MovieClip(ldr.content).gotoAndStop(3); ?

    no.
    if, in your loaded swf, you have a function f1() on the loaded swf's main timeline and you load that swf using a loader (say ldr), use:
    MovieClip(ldr.content).f1();   // to call f1() in the loaded swf

  • Applying different URL's to animated SWF Document

    Hi there
    Can someone please help, i am working in Illustrator to create animated SWF files.  These need to contain a URL.  I have read the forums and found out how to do this for a flat non animated SWF file and this works, howerver when exporting Ai layers to SWF it doesnt work.
    Ideally i want to apply different URL's for each frame of the animation...but will settle for just having a single URL at the moment!!!
    Am i able to do this in Illustrator or do i need a different package?
    Thanks
    Simon.

    Forget it. It doesn't fit in thze "slice" model of AI and PS. What you want requires and event-centric approach and that can be done in Flash Catalyst, Fireworks and InDesign - that is, the soon to be released CS5 versions. A public Beta of Flash Catalyst is still avialable on Adobe Labs, so give it a spin. Otherwise use Flash or do your multi-link banner/ graphic "the proper way" by using JavaScript with jQuery and focusing on doing this all within native HTML/ CSS.

  • AS2 swf problem under AS3 swf (probably Tweener problem)

    Hello. I have this problem for a days and it hasn't been soluted yet although I put it on couple of forums. I have 3 files: test.fla, file_as2, file_as3.
    The test.fla file is a typical Loader, which loads external swf files and shows them on the screen. After any key is pressed, the swf is deleted from the screen and loaded again.
    The file_as2 and file_as3 are the AS2 and AS3 compiled having a simple square animation (6 squares fading in from alpha 0 one by one) animated by caurina Tweener. If the file_as3 is compilated and loaded externally there is no problem (six sqares are fading in, after pressing any key the vanish and appear (loaded) again and again...). But if the swf as2 file is loaded, it shows the squares only once and after pressing any key and loading it again, it doesn't shows it at all.
    I guess it's Tweener problem, because when i trace it in AS2 file (onUpdate) it traces only at the beginning.
    How it's possible, that AS3 somehow stops all Tweeners in 2nd time loaded AS2 file?? How to fix it?? Sorry for my english, i left a link for these 3 files to find solution. Try it (test.swf) and then change path inside fla to load AS2 file... Thanks for any ideas.
    Link to download: http://www.filolozka.pl/zip/file.ZIP

    Instead of reusing the same Loader, try loading the AS2 movie multiple times using different Loader instances. Instead of using event listeners like normal, this should be easy to do because you can addChild each Loader instance, and when it is loaded it will automatically play. If you are able to load the AS2 movie multiple times at once and have it work for you, then the problem must be in the way that you removing the old movie, and reusing code to load the movie again.

  • Imported swf problem (CP4)

    Hi there,
    I imported a swf file containing an embedded FLV, and put it in the third slide of the project. When I publish/preview, the swf starts playing immediately – I hear the sound and when by the time I go to the third slide the movie is somewhere in the middle.
    Also, the movie runs slowly even though it has the same frame rate as the project, and slows down and even jams the entire project. (The swf size is 4.47 MB. Is it too heavy?)
    Can someone help me figure out these two problems? I have another swf (simple animation, no sounds) and this one works just fine.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Manoj,
    Indeed, looks like it was the _root issue. However, the "fix" widget didn't solve the problem. I already put a "fix" widget in another slide - perhaps you can't use it twice in the same project?
    Anyway, I changed the programming to avoid using _root, and now it works just fine. Thanks!

  • Loading External SWF - Problem

    Hi,
    Using MovieClipLoader I want to load external SWFs - and it
    is working fine
    if external swf doesn't have anything outside it's stage,
    otherwise it shows
    everything - that's the problem.
    For example, external swf's stage dimensions are 100x150, but
    it has some
    timeline animation (some objects scrolling through the stage,
    some bouncing
    text animation that sometimes goes off-stage, etc..).
    So when I load this external movie (banner.swf), I can see
    all these objects
    that were bouncing outside this 100x150 area (the stage of
    banner). Even
    more - the size of loaded movie is larger than 100x150px
    (because of these
    off-stage objects that are now visible). This way I'm getting
    positioning
    problems, too.
    var mcl:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
    mcl.loadClip("banner.swf", holder);
    mcl.addListener(listener);
    holder._x = Stage.width/2 - holder._width/2;
    holder._y = Stage.height/2 - holder._height/2;
    Thanks in advance,
    B.

    Hi kglad,
    Does doing that takes only into account width and height of the stage, or also considers off stage items (as in the initial question)?
    I am also looking at this issue and we can't have all the content providers modify their pre-existing flash applications to be displayed in the appropiate scale. We are looking to any of the following:
    find a way to get adobe air/flash to not consider the off stage elements on the width/height we set to the movie.
    find a way to get the stage size from the external movie and use that to auto calculate the resize needed.
    any other alternative that allows to have the same end result, which is loading up the external content at the size we specify and displaying well. We can actually hide content outside the stage, but we still need to know the appropiate scale / size to apply to the movie so what's visible matches the are where we want to show the content.

  • Load Swf problem

    Hi all..
    i have a problem i´ve been try to load a swf file into another.. and i do can do it... but when i do so... the dimensions of the loaded file doesn´t crop on what they should be... i mean:
    Movie A load Movie B
    in Movie B i have an animation where an object came from one side to another, but all this is not on the dimensions of my fla, but when i load it into the other shows that content outside of the flash properties dimensions and i want to crop the dimensions of the loaded file ...
    this is the code to load this file:
    function startLoad2()
        var mLoader:Loader = new Loader();
        var mRequest:URLRequest = new URLRequest('cards_promo.swf');
        mLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onCompleteHandler2);
        mLoader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, onProgressHandler2);
        mLoader.load(mRequest);
    function onCompleteHandler2(loadEvent:Event)
            loadEvent.currentTarget.content.x = 355;
            loadEvent.currentTarget.content.y = 215;
            //loadEvent.currentTarget.content.width = 223;
            //loadEvent.currentTarget.content.height = 33;
            addChild(loadEvent.currentTarget.content);
    function onProgressHandler2(mProgress:ProgressEvent)
        var percent:Number = mProgress.bytesLoaded/mProgress.bytesTotal;
        loaded_text02.text = percent + ' %';
        if (percent > 95)
            removeChild(loaded_text02);
        trace(percent);
    startLoad2();
    here is the page with the problem
    http://www.sotoautopartes.com/
    the problem is in the banner and the visa and master card animation, this animation should be croped to the gray box with the red stroke
    i do hope that someone can help me to solve this problem
    or give me other alternative. to solve this small problem...
    well thanks a lot
    Regards
    Cesar

    Hi,
    I've try it... but like i have another dinamic movie, when i apply the mask to the top frame where is loaded... the other movie doen't is not showed cuz is not in the mask area, and when i make the mask area biger the result is the same. the "animation" is in all the banner and i dont want that result.

  • Large swf problem

    My problem is this:
    I am making a series of language lessons in flash for my
    school to use. Because the lessons contain sound (recorded
    explanations etc) and some animation, the resulting swf file is
    quite big- about 15mb. So when a class of 30 all access the file on
    the internet at the same time it takes ages to load. It does need
    to be on the net because I want to make it available to other
    schools. I suppose I could chop it up, but I don't have the
    knowledge to make them play in a sequence.
    Can anyone suggest a solution? I'd be very grateful and I'll
    send you the finished result if you're interested in learning
    Spanish.
    Martin.

    If you want the video to compress more so you can reduce the
    file with havig good quality send it to me. Or you can compress by
    flash 8 video encoder plugin.Better way is if the video file is
    long make it brake this will solve your problem.

  • Moving Animated SWF wallpaper to Phone

    I'm a student at Quinnipiac University and I am trying to get
    an animated wallpaper to work on my Verizon LG VX8300. I am able to
    get the file into the appropriate directory (I believe) but the
    phone does not add the swf file to the menu to allow it to be
    chosen as a wallpaper.
    When I pulled the existing 4 flash animated wallpapers that
    came preinstalled on the phone and decompiled the actionscript I
    found this within FSCommand2.
    FSCommand2('GetVars', 'flashNVData', 'setting', 'menuType',
    I browsed through the help section on Flash but couldn't find
    any definition for 'flashNVData' and what it does. I figured that
    if I had that same line of code in my wallpaper that it might help
    it be recognized on the phone but that wasn't the case. I almost
    feel like it has to be installed.
    After going through more documentation I begin to wonder if
    even just a simple flash lite wallpaper needs to be published for
    BREW...but it doesn't make sense to me since the files I pulled off
    of the phone were *.swf
    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    I have same problem .6233 problem with swf theme.show white screen.
    can anyone help us?

  • Keynote 3: Transparent Animated GIF Problems

    I've been trying to get an animated GIF with a transparent background to run in Keynote, but it's giving some disastrous results.
    I produce the animation by rendering the frames as PNG (with alpha channel) in MegaPOV 1.2.1. Then I use the convert utility from ImageMagick 6.2.9 to make them into an animated GIF.
    When I drop the animated GIF into Keynote 3.0.2, the first frame shows fine (with transparency and all). But when I animate it, the background goes red (the main color in this particular movie) and some trace of the previous frames stays. It seems like:
    1. Rather than displaying the GIF frame-by-frame, each frame is getting layered onto the previous frames.
    2. Keynote doesn't like the alpha channel for some reason.
    Problem 1 is also present if I open the GIF in Preview (is that supposed to be the correct behavior of an animated GIF?). Problem 2 seems to be Keynote-specific.
    Any suggestions for a work-around on this? The animated GIFs work fine if rendered without the alpha channel, but it'd look so much better with transparency!
    iMac 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    MegaPOV doesn't have a GIF output option. The choices are PNG, Targa, PPM, and hdr (not familiar with that last one). I don't know if PPM even has alpha-capability.
    So in some way, I have to convert PNG to GIF. The tools I have to do this are ImageMagick and Gimp. I tried them both, then viewed the results using several programs. Results are tabulated below -- (1) means that problem 1 from above was apparent (ie, parts of the previous frames were visible under the current frame); (2) means that problem 2 was visible (ie, the transparent parts took on some background color).
    If I didn't know how to change the default white background in the program, I couldn't tell whether problem (2) occurred, since the movie made with Gimp had a white background in Keynote.
    Using ImageMagick 6.2.9 to convert PNG->GIF and animate GIF:
    * viewing with Safari 2.0.4 : (1), can't tell for (2)
    * viewing with Preview 3.0.9 : (1), can't tell for (2)
    * viewing with Firefox 2.0.0.3 : (1)
    * viewing with Keynote 3.0.2 : (1), (2) -- alpha goes red
    Using Gimp 2.2.11 to convert PNG->GIF and animate GIF:
    * viewing with Safari : (1), can't tell for (2)
    * viewing with Preview : (1), can't tell for (2)
    * viewing with Firefox : (1)
    * viewing with Keynote : (1), (2) -- alpha goes white
    I only converted the first few frames using Gimp, since I was doing it by hand.
    All of this makes me wonder whether I'm dreaming the impossible, since problem (1) is universally present. It also makes me pretty sure that problem (2) is Keynote-specific.
    If there are any other tools that will convert/animate GIFs on a modern Mac, I'd love to hear about them. My UNIX-y tools seem to be failing me here. The Mac tools I remember from "back in the day" -- GIFBuilder and GIFConverter -- seem to have been abandoned around the beginning of Mac OS X. GIFBuilder won't even load my files, and GIFConverter still lacks alpha support in PNG.

  • Animated Gif Problem

    Greetings
    I would appreciate some help.
    I am new at creating animated gif's, and am experiencing a
    problem with them when I try to view them in a browser.
    I am working in Fireworks 2004, the following is what I do.
    Create first frame.
    Insert simple arrow.
    Create second frame
    Insert simple arrow with diffrent color
    Third frame same but diffrent image.
    Set the Optimize Panel to Animated Gif, transparency set to
    No tranparency.
    Click on File, Export.
    Type the name of the file in File Name box.
    Select "Frames to Files" option for Save as type option.
    In my folder where I saved the files there are now three gif
    files.
    When I open the file into the following browsers IE 7, 6.0 or
    Firefox it remains as a static image in the browser with no
    animation, the same is for viewing it in Window Explorer Preview
    Pane.
    In Fireworks however the animation plays perfectly.
    I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me what I
    am doing wrong or why they created animated gifs are not playing in
    the browser.
    Regards
    Dave

    Instead of Frames to files on export, select Images only.
    that should do it -

  • Animated GIF problem saving for web in CS6

    I made an animated gif in CS6 and trying to save it for the web. The duration of the animation is pretty long, about 44 seconds. After 17 seconds the animation stops while the saving was completed. How can I solve this problem? The file is too large to attach (725 x 225 px) unfortunately.
    Please give me some advice;-)

    Yopu probably exceed the GIF specs and generate too many frames.
    How many frames are possible?

  • Animated GIF problems

    I've recently implemented an extension of IconView to animate gifs correctly in editor panes. I am just haveing two problems with it that I can't figure out.
    Firstly, when an animated gif is added it animates fine. The next time the same gif is added, it doesn't animate, just shows the last image of the animation. I assume that something is trying to be clever by caching the image somewhere, is there any way around this?
    Secondly some of the gifs do not animate very well. I believe that they may be using transparency to leave the contents of previous frames behind, but I guess that java does not support this. Any thoughts on how I could solve this?
    Here is the simple code for my view:
    class AnimatedIconView extends IconView implements ImageObserver
         private Container container = null;
         private Rectangle bounds = null;
         public AnimatedIconView(Element e)
              super(e);
              Icon icon = StyleConstants.getIcon(getAttributes());
              if (icon instanceof ImageIcon)
                   ((ImageIcon)icon).setImageObserver(this);
         public void setParent(View parent)
              super.setParent(parent);
              container=getContainer();
         public void paint(Graphics g, Shape s)
              super.paint(g,s);
              bounds=s.getBounds();
         public boolean imageUpdate(Image img,int infoflags,int x,int y,int width,int height)
              if (((infoflags & ImageObserver.FRAMEBITS)>0)&&(container!=null)&&(bounds!=null))
                   container.repaint((int)bounds.getX(),(int)bounds.getY(),(int)bounds.getWidth(),(int)bounds.getHeight());
              return true;
    }Dave
