Animation works in preview, and breaks once inserted into a page as .oam

I built a simple animation that allows a user to step forward and backward through the timeline. I was able to leverage code from the Edge blog, so I'm pretty sure it's solid. The animation even previews well, but when I publish to .oam and reference the file from a different directory, the animation suddenly breaks. I really don't know what to do.
I've tried creating a blank page in the same directory as the .oam file, and it is still breaking.
When I say it breaks, what is happening is it appears a specific point in the timeline where an element should fade out, but it doesn't. Instead it remains as the other elements continue to work properly.
Any ideas how to test this problem?
Here is the code for my "back" button:
var current = sym.getVariable("current");
   if (current != "start") {
      sym.getSymbol("the_wheel").playReverse();
   else {
      sym.getSymbol("the_wheel").playReverse("end");
sym.setVariable("current", "the_wheel");

Hi Sarah,
I uploaded fresh files. Sorry, I have so many versions right now, it's hard to keep things straight.
http://dezylum.com/wheel/wheel.html
I'm testing on Mac and PC:
Mac: Safari and Chrome (both up to date)
PC: Firefox, Chrome and IE (all up to date)
Note: the files TEST from Edge just fine. It's only when I publish to the .oam file, insert the link into my page and test it that way that the animation breaks.
When navigating forward or backward through the animation, the color bars that are in between the light blue circle and the darker arrows should fully fade in to a light color and fully fade out to white as the next light bar fades in. When you navigate backward and reach the dark blue arrow, and click back again to reach the yellow-orange arrow, the light blue bar gets stuck when fading to the yellow-orange bar. Here is a screen grab.
The light blue bar should fade completely to white, but does not until you navigate back and reach the dark orange arrow. I hope that makes sense .
Thanks for your help and attention!

  • SWF won't play onced inserted into html page, though plays in absolute paths

I have embedded a SWF in my index page. The background image saved in the FLA shows up, but none of the remaining content. If I put in the URL to the actual SWF and HTML files, however, everything works fine.

This to me sounds like an issue with the ActionScript.  Have you tried posting in the Flash forum?

  • Is there a script (or plugin) that will take a photo and break it up into parts?

Is there a script or plug-in out there that will take a picture and break it up into various parts (squares for example.)  The idea would be that you could automate and rapidly create a photo collage of a single image.  (See examples of what I mean in attached pics.)
    Thanks!

    You get the idea.

OK, I'm going to edit this post now that I'm at a computer with an actual step by step.
Create a new comp the size of you our final delivered project.
Add a photo to the timeline
Note the size of the photo and the scale to position the photo at it's final resting place
Calculate twice the height and width of the photo and create a new solid that is this size
Place the solid above the photo
Create a mask in the solid at the exact center that is the size shape you want for your photo frame
Either invert the mask or set the mask property to Subtract to reveal a small portion of the photo
Set the solid as a alpha inverted track matte for the photo (you should now see only a portion of the photo
Add a rectangular shape layer with only a stroke to act as the photo frame over the mask. You may have to use two shapes or create a mask on a shape if you want to simulate polaroids
Make the shape layer the parent of the solid you are using as a track matte so the matte will stay lined up with the frame
Here comes the fun, select all layers and duplicate them using Ctrl/Cmnd + D
Immediately hold down Shift + Ctrl/Cmnd + } to move all duplicates to the top
Select the top shape layer and move the shape layer frame into a new position
    Pre-compose the top 3 layers
Press the y key to select the Pan Benind or Anchor Point tool and move the pre-comp's anchor point to the center of the top frame
Repeat step 11 through 15 until you have arranged your montage (it might be a good idea to have a template set up as a guide layer so you know where to put the frames
Select all pre-comps and press Alt/Option + P to set a position keyframe for each pre-comp
With all of the keyframe selected move them down the timeline about 3 seconds
Now, with the CTI at the first frame drag each pre-comp into a starting position for that frame
Preview and adjust the timing, then turn on motion blur
Your images will now assemble themselves into the final montage.
There is no script that I know of that will do all of this automatically, but it would not be too hard to write a script that would do the pre-composing if you have a ton of these to do. I'm guessing that with a little practice you could have a new picture frame created and moved into position in less than a minute. It takes me about 30 seconds. That means a 20 frame sequence should take you about a half hour. It might not be worth writing a script unless you have a ton of these to do. Select the bottom three layers and duplicate (Ctrl/Cmnt + D), group them at the top (Shift + Ctrl/Cmnd + } ), move the top frame layer into position, then Shift + Ctrl/Cmnd + C to pre-compose, then move the anchor point of the pre-comp, then do it again.... When you're done set a few keyframes.
As I said, you could write a script, but you'd need a different script to move each frame into position and the script would only work for one layout. If you made a template to put on the bottom so you knew where do place the frames and which order you wanted them you could do this by hand very quickly. The sample project that I'm including which was just quickly thrown together took me less than 10 minutes. Replace my photo with one of yours and you'll get the idea.

I purchased the Logitech F310 game controller for my 2011 MacBook Pro. How do I get the driver installed for it. The Disk that came with the controller is a mini disk and will not insert into my laptop.

May not make a difference anyway. The Logitech support site does not show drivers for Mac OS for the F310:
    http://www.logitech.com/en-us/support/gamepad-f310?crid=411
I'd contact their support to find out if there is a Mac driver available, and if they can either give you a web link to get it, e-mail you the software, or snail-mail you a standard-size disk with the drivers.

  • Works in preview and IE but not Firefox

    Hi All,
I have a 6 page prototype in Fw with each page containing mutliple types of behaviors (rollovers, swaps, nav bar).  They all work great in "preview and IE".  However, in Firefox I have 3 out of 4 rollovers on the same page that do not work.  I have tried both rollover and image swap.  All the other slice/behaviors on all the other pages work in "preview, IE and Firefox"?
    Thanks,
    Randy

    Hi Linda,
When I exported the project all of the pages worked correctly.  I was able to show the prototype with everything working.  I later rebuilt the page from scratch and everything worked in preview mode as well as once exported.
    Thanks for the response!

  • Selection breaks after inserting into dataProvider

I have been battling this issue for a couple of days now. I
have a HorizontalList that is using an itemRenderer component that
I created. When I insert an item into the dataProvider using
    addItemAt....
    1) the item is inserted
    2) i see the item rendered correctly in the HorizontalList
However, the selection breaks. What I mean by this is the
newly added items does NOT highlight when I roll over it and if I
click on it, it does not select. This only happens for the newly
added item, all the others that were already in the list work fine
    (highlight and can be selected).
I've tried calling validateNow() on the HorizontalList after
inserting into the dataprovider but it doesn't help at all.
    Please help.

I can't believe this, but after 2 days of trying to figure
this out I figured it out just moments after posting to the forum!
Here is what fixed it and I am not sure exactly why. At this
    point I don't care...
The dataProvider I was using contained a list of custom
objects. I had a property on the class called uid. When I commented
out this property, everything worked. I don't know what made me
think to try this. I guess my uid property on the class was
conflicting with the uid property on the itemRenderer component or
    something.
    Finally.

  • Diffrence between backend insert and front end insert into a table.

I am developing a conversion program for tax exemption. For this program only ZX_EXEMPTIONS table is used to populate the data and we got confirmation from Oracle also regarding this. For inserting the data into this table we are taking the max of tax_exemption_id which is pk for this table and adding one to it and inserting into the table. But problem here is after inserting from back end we are not able to insert from front end.
It seems backend data is holding the tax_exemption_id which is suppose to reserve by front end data. Please explain the different behavior of populating of tax_exemption_id from front end and back end.

    Hi,
i think the problem is that you are using max-value + 1 for tax_exemption_id. But as ZX_EXEMPTIONS is using sequence ZX_EXEMPTIONS_S
for primary key generation, you encounter situation that you are increasing PK Id for this table without increasing sequence value.
When trying to insert rows from front end - which probably uses sequence value - it tries to use a sequence value already used by your backend
process (which generated it by Maxvalue + 1) and would then encounter a primary key violation.
I think you should use sequence mentioned above to generate your PK Ids in backend process as well. And before doing so, check current value
of ZX_EXEMPTIONS_S, as you might need to rebuild the sequence in order to select nextval sucessfully for both frontend and backend.

  • Help w/ Flash Object inserted into DW page

    Hi,
    I'm using DW MX2004 on a Pwrbk G4. I created a Flash object
(a page-flipping gallery) in Flash, and while it previews fine in
Flash MX'04 (size of the .swf in pixels, I WANT it to be 1050 W
& 713 H so the page is big enough to view well on a browser and
the pages can flip correctly), once the object is inserted into DW,
it isn't showing up as the same size. The default size in DW is 550
x 440 I think, and when I try to change the dimensions--even to the
exact size it was in Flash--the images once previewed are always
distorted or the preview shows only part of the image and the pages
aren't flipping (this, I believe b'cos the entire .swf movie isn't
displayed so the corners can be dragged/clicked). I know I'm doing
something wrong or missing some step, can someone help?
    Thanks

I am not sure what exactly you are experiencing but it sound
like something somewhat similar to what I recently went through. I
tried to embed a swf in my HTML page using DW and there was a
border that would appear that was not there in FLash. I eventually
found a setting in Flash Publish settings that said " no border "
...this was under the "HTML" settings in the Publish settings
dialog box. I published my html page and then cut most of the code
from that page and manually embed it in my Dw html page. Kind of
    pain but it worked.
Try publishing the HTML page from flash and then viewing that
page in DW and see if your swf is the right size. It may be that
you can't use DW to Embed your SWF.

  • Break photo gallery into separate pages

I have so many pictures in my iphoto library that I'd like to share on gallery. However; I find that as I upload more and more picture, the gallery takes too longer to load. I am wondering if it is possible that I can break the gallery into smaller segments and put them on separate pages? If so, how ?

    shakur:
As users we can control how many photos we put in a single gallery but not creating "pages" of galleries. You could create an iWeb page with the galleries on the page like this. But once you bring up any gallery by clicking on it, if you go to the main gallery you're in the same situation waiting for all the items to load.
But the first visit to the web page would not be dependent on loading the galleries.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Blogs - inserting into web page

    Hi All
would some onoe beable to direct me to the best place on where to start??
I am new to blogging, I have downloaded and install wordPress for a blog but I would like to incorporate the blog into an existing web page, say the index.html.
or create something like this http://www.vetonet.dk/and-were-back-in-the-studio/
where the blog appears to be sat within the page??
can anyone help/direct me how to create a blog within a html webpage
    any help would be great!!
    cheers

You won't be able to do thin in an HTML page, you'll need to move to a dynamic language such as PHP or ColdFusion. Also, with WorPress you won't be able to "insert it into your page" -  WordPress is a full blogging or even a CMS application... It is your site that you have to customize it to look the way you want.  Do a Google search and see if you can find a lightweight blogging app that does what you want, but in most cases the blog wants to be the site and not just added to it.

  • Weblinks work within preview but not once exported to swf

As the title states really. I've set up button with weblinks and they work fine fromt he preview page, bt once exported to swf they no longer work. Is there a limit to how long they can be? Do I need something like tinyurl?

Phew! I was just about to chuck the computer through the window.
Thanks for taking time to answer.

  • BOLD not working in preview and final product...

I saw a similar topic but their solution did not work. When I have BOLD text in the Body Pages it appears as BOLD. When I print from this it comes out BOLD. When I look at the PDF Preview or save the file, the BOLD goes away.
A prior thread said to remove the BOLD and then BOLD it again. That did not work.
I just purchased and installed 7.0 (yesterday). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I can take a look at the form if you want. Email to [email protected]

  • Setting up new book with single pages but facing preview and breaking up pages at print time

I have a new book to design.  Last time on a similar project (with 100 pages) I had a massive cry at print time as the printer wanted single pages with bleeds. I had set up the book with facing pages.  When I unchecked to non facing pages I lost all my formatting and margins...   I spent hours fixing this up.... I do need to show double spreads to the client as we go along and I do want to work in a mode that shows both left and right next to each other (ie in a book format).  What do you suggest? I have been looking at setting up as single pages side by side and then at print time I think I can move all my right hand pages over with the break up page function and then fix up all my bleeds manually.? thanks in advance

    lisalip schrieb:
no my printer needs 5mm bleed all around for the books I am doing and wants single pages with crops and bleeds
I will check the link and hope ok
I do prefer to design with facing pages but as I said it was a nightmare for me last time when setting for print
You confuse single pages with non facing document.
Every page has to be its own page. When your document has facing pages you have to set up a document with facing pages. There is no way around. Otherwise you will have problems with the left and the right page number and a lot of other issues.
If the printer needs single pages you have to export your document as PDF with single pages. That means deactivate the spread option in the PDF export dialog.
    Here I have an example:
    Situation:
In the 2 spreads on the top you don't have a problem when you export to a single page PDF. The bleed is taking material from the opposite page. It is ok and not disturbing.
But the bottom spread is different. Here you see a design break. It would be disturbing, if you take material from the opposite page. In many cases you would not realize it, but there are several situation where it might be a problem like glue or o-wire bindings where the bleed might become visible.
So you have to go to the page panel.
You have to select the spread first, then you go to the fly-out menu and select don't "allow selected spread to shuffle" pages. The numbers of the spread will appear in rectangle brackets.
Now you can drag the right (or left) page away from their counterpart on the spread. First you have to deselect any pages from that spread, so you can click on any thumbnail of any other page of any other spread. Then click on the right page of that spread. Only this pages has to be selected.
You see the icon of your curser changes as it is in the image above. Drag it as far as you see a thick vertical line. Then release sthe curser.
As result you have now seperate pages. You need only to extend the image, here on page 6. I have taken an image which is large enough, so I need only to move the image frame edge to the bleed.
When I export a single page PDF, as your printer wants I don't get problematic bleed from the opposite page.
You can download this example as IDML file. https://www.dropbox.com/s/qnotrl1ihe7umh7/SinglePages-Spread%20Ordner.zip

  • I'm working in Preview and I'm not able to add my signature to a PDF. Moreover, the "Manage Signature" is always asking for a new signature.

When I follow the directions in help for adding a signature. Preview asks that I provide a signature then click the location it should appear.
Obviously I'm doing something wrong because the signature does not appear on the line I click.

    Yes.
I was reading other posts on similar problems and I'm going to try to remove my preview preference files from the preference folder.
