Anomaly Guard Module Configuration

I have an 1Gbps AGM and I am configuring Anomaly Guard Module. For testing purpose, I am trying to bypass/route the traffic through AGM, but I could not. The configuration is as mentioned below. I have captured the traffic using packet-dump and I could understand that traffic is forwarded to AGM, but not leaving AGM.
Can you please advice, what is missing in this configuration to enable all traffic to pass through AGM.

The Guard module can operate at two different bandwidth performance levels: 1 Gigabit per second (Gbps) or 3 Gbps. The software image that you load on the Guard module determines the operating bandwidth by controlling the three physical interfaces between the module and the supervisor engine.

  • Has anybody experience with "Cisco Anomaly Guard Module"

    Hello,
    had anybody experience with "Cisco Anomaly Guard Module" WS-SVC-AGM-1-K9 for Catalyst 6500?
    We're looking for some IDS/IPS prevention system which could take 2-3 Gbits of traffic. From the documentation it looks not bad, and we can get them as used parts (6500 + Sup720 + AGM +ADM) quite cheap. The second solution is Arbor with cisco12000 as boader router (10Gbit uplink) is much more expencevie.
    Arbor tries of cause sell us their solution as "Cisco Anomaly Guard Module" is ot of sale and doesn't have any new features, but from the Data sheets Cisco AGM is eactly what we need.
    Or may be is there another solution which could be comparable to those two?
    Thank you.

    Hello padatta,
    AGM/ADM are IDS/IPS systems, one can of couse discuss about the terms, but it won't be productive :).
    IDSM2 has not enough performance and it should sit inline, ADM/AGM can change he next hop for the diverted traffic and be out of traffic path during the normal operation.

  • Anomaly Guard Module

    Im trying to understand the relationship between the detector and guard modules. Can the guard operate without the detector?

    The Guard module is a denial-of-service (DDoS) mitigation product that receives traffic diverted from attacked targets, cleans this traffic, and forwards the cleaned traffic to its original path.
    The Detector module is a denial-of-service (DDoS) detection product that receives a copy of the traffic on the switch, analyzes that traffic, and sends out an alert when it detects a DDoS attack. The Detector module can also activate a configured Guard module to mitigate these attacks.

    hellow, everyone.
    i'm yunchouljung in korea
    i have a question about ADM module power down issue.
    i had upgraded AGM Module successfully in version 6.1.2 to 6.1.6
    but failed ADM Module upgrade in version 6.1.2 to 6.1.6
    i uploaded a AP images in MP status and enterd "hw-module module 12 reset cf:4" command.
    (i waited a message "you can now reset the module....")
    after a reset process, ADM module disabled by SCP dnld Failure.
    so, i enabled a power on ADM Module but result is same.
    my upgrade process is below.

  • Anomaly Guard & Anomaly Detector image upgradation

    Dear all,
    Is there any way to upgrade image for Anomaly Guard & Detector as I have tried the way mentioned in the documentation but its not working b/c new-version option in the command is not visible.
    I have tried using following way but its not working...
    admin@AD-2#copy ftp login-banner 172.16.250.10 /c6svc-adm1G-k9.6-1-5.
    bin cisco cisco123
    FTP in progress...
    Error: Cannot import non-text banner file
    admin@AD-2#
    As per the documentation we need to use the following command but that is not available with any user
    copy ftp new-version server full-file-name [login [password]]
    Regards,
    Akhtar

    Akhtar, Is this an Anomaly Guard/Detector Appliance or an Anomaly Guard/Detector Module?
    Based upon the image you are trying to use I would guess the module. Unfortunately the modules do not follow the same upgrade documentation as the appliance.
    To upgrade the module devices you must use the Maintenance Partition. See documentation here:

  • File Adapter-Module configuration

    Hi All,
    I have the following requiremnt.
    "Duplicate files should not process"
    Following are the File Access Parameters.
    Source Directory: ABC (ex: contains aa1,aa2,aa3,aa4 files)
    Filename: *
    File name mask: aa*
    My doubt is if they place aa1 file again in ftp , i should not process.
    For this I'm thinking to write module configuration.
    Can any one suggests , whether this is the correct approach? If it is could u explain how to write this module and where to write this module and how to import in xI, do i need to pass any parameter name in module configuration.
    Regards,
    venu.

    Hi Venu,
    You can go with Module in the Sender File Adapter.
    First you need to check the file name and you need to store this file name in the Database.( you can use Java Database).
    If there is an entry in the database for that file, then reject the whole file as per the business requirement. So that you can avoid , overhead of Mapping. Because if there is an error set the flag in the message and check this flag in your Receiver Determination, if it is an error send into error directory.
    Another way is outside the XI, i.e using shell scripts.
    Regards,
    Moorthy

  • Error: ORA-16532: Data Guard broker configuration does not exist

    Hi there folks. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
    Anyways, we have a 10.2.0.4 rac primary and a 10.2.0.4 standby physical standby. We recently did a switchover and the dgbroker files automatically got created in the Oracle_home/dbs location of the primary. Now need to move these files to the common ASM DG. For this, I followd the steps from this doc:
    How To Move Dataguard Broker Configuration File On ASM Filesystem (Doc ID 839794.1)
    The only exception to this case is that I have to do this on a Primary and not a standby so I am disabling and enabling the Primary(and not standby as mentioned in below steps)
    To rename the broker configuration files in STANDBY to FRA/MYSTD/broker1.dat and FRA/MYSTD/broker2.dat, Follow the below steps
    1. Disable the standby database from within the broker configuration
    DGMGRL> disable database MYSTD;
    2. Stop the broker on the standby
    SQL> alter system set dg_broker_start = FALSE;
    3. Set the dg_broker_config_file1 & 2 parameters on the standby to the appropriate location required.
    SQL> alter system set dg_broker_config_file1 = '+FRA/MYSTD/broker1.dat';
    SQL> alter system set dg_broker_config_file2 = '+FRA/MYSTD/broker2.dat'
    4. Restart the broker on the standby
    SQL> alter system set dg_broker_start = TRUE
    5. From the primary, enable the standby
    DGMGRL> enable database MYSTD;
    6. Broker configuration files will be created in the new ASM location.
    I did so but when I try to enable the Primary back I get this:
    Error: ORA-16532: Data Guard broker configuration does not exist
    Configuration details cannot be determined by DGMGRL
    Form this link,(Errors setting up DataGuard Broker it would seem that I would need to recreate the configuration....Is that correct ? If yes then how come Metalink is missing this info of recreating the configuration... OR is it that that scenario wouldnt be applicable in my case ?
    Thanks for your help.

    Yes I can confirm from the gv$spparameter view that the changes are effective for all 3 instances. From the alert log the alter system didnt throw u pany errros. I didnt restart the instances though since I dont have the approvals yet. But I dont think thats required.

This error message was not showing up in runtime workbench. However, when i looked at the default trace, there were few more errors. After fixing the XSL, I am able to received the email

  • PI SFTP RECEIVER ADAPTER MODULE CONFIGURATION

    Hi,
    I am new in SFTP adapter. I want to transfer file from proxy to SFTP. I want to output file is in csv format. But now it is in  xml format.
    Please help me!!!
    My module configuration is in attachment..

    Hi
    I have got the problem. You have to modify your target structure in the below format
    <row>
    <column-name1>ABC</column-name1>
    <column-name2>12345</column-name2>
    <column-name3>Text1</column-name3>
    </row>
    Create any parent node and inside that create the sub-eliment STATUS and USERID
    something like
    MT_Succefactor
       <record>
       <STATUS>
       <USERID>
        </record
    Then you will get the desired output. Use the below content conversion paramters

    The message that reaches the file receiver channel is

                  structure 2
    </EK1NA1M>
                 So i wanna write a module configuration which will rename the first tag as <ek1na1m>. Plz help

    Hi Sumaya,
    you are creating the adapter module using the document i told or not...
    if you are using that document, then see in the process method you will write all your code......you will take the message as a string........then you can manipulate your string as you want - means you can rename your node..........then you can set this string as your XMLpayload.....

  • Debugging JMS adapter with Module Configuration

    Hi.
    I have a problem debugging my JMS adapter with module configuration.
    All I get from the Message Monitor is a status "System Error", and no error category or error message.
    I know there's an error in my Module configuration design, since it works fine without.
    My configuration looks like this:
    PROCESSING SEQUENCE:
    1     localejbs/AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean     Local Enterprise Bean     XML2Plain
    2     localejbs/SAP XI JMS Adapter/ConvertMessageToBinary     Local Enterprise Bean     convert_XI2Bin
    3     localejbs/SAP XI JMS Adapter/SendBinarytoXIJMSService     Local Enterprise Bean     exit
    MODULE CONFIGURATION:
    XML2Plain     Transform.Class     com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.Conversion
    XML2Plain     Transform.ContentType     text/plain;charset=utf-8
    XML2Plain     xml.conversionType     StructXML2Plain
    XML2Plain     xml.addHeaderLine     0
    XML2Plain     xml.recordsetStructure     STARTRECORD,DATARECORD,SERVICEYDELSERRECORD,SLUTRECORD
    XML2Plain     xml.STARTRECORD.fieldFixedLengths     2,8,6,7,10,7,3,3
    XML2Plain     xml.DATARECORD.fieldFixedLengths     2,8,6,4,35,17,7,7,7,5,5,5,18,18,18,18,18,18,18,18,18,9
    XML2Plain     xml.SERVICEYDELSERRECORD.fieldFixedLengths     2,8,6,4,3,20,18,18,18
    XML2Plain     xml.SLUTRECORD.fieldFixedLengths     2,8,6,7,10,7
    XML2Plain     xml.STARTRECORD.fixedLengthTooShortHandling     Cut
    XML2Plain     xml.DATARECORD.fixedLengthTooShortHandling     Cut
    XML2Plain     xml.SERVICEYDELSERRECORD.fixedLengthTooShortHandling     Cut
    XML2Plain     xml.SLUTRECORD.fixedLengthTooShortHandling     Cut
    The structure of the message looks like this:
    <STARTRECORD> (occurence = 1)
    <DATARECORD> (occurence = 1..unbounded)
    --- <SERVICEYDELSERRECORD> (occurence = 0..unbounded)
    <SLUTRECORD> (occurence = 1)
    I've crosschecked every field, and it length and all looks like it should!
    The worst part is the one not getting the reason why it fails. Any way I can get this information?
    I've tried to look in the Adapter Framework log, but I have no clue where to look for anything usefull.
    Help
    Regards Peter

    Hello,
    Below is the module configuration in my JMS sender channel:
    Check Message          Local Enterprise Bean          key
    ConvertJMSMessageToBinary      Local Enterprise Bean      convert_JMS2Bin
    ConvertBinaryToXMBMessage     Local Enterprise Bean      convert_Bin2XI
    CallSapAdapter                Local Enterprise Bean          call_AF_MS
    CheckMessage is a custom module which does some check on the incoming message.
    Now what I want to know is at which position should I include the DynamicConfiguration Bean? Should it be included at position 1 or at position 2 or someother position?
    ~Thanks.

  • Remove Data Guard Broker configuration file

    Hi,
    We have a data guard configuration running on Oracle 10g RAC (2 nodes) ASM. After failover, we rebuild the old primary as physical standby. But every time when enable the data guard broker, it created problems. So the best solution for us seems to completely remove the data guard broker configuration and recreate them. Here are our steps
    On both primary and standby
    1) alter system set DG_BROKER_START=FALSE
    2) shutdown database
    3) use asmcmd command to remove the broker directory under +DATA/dbname/DG_BROKER
    4) start the database
    5) alter system set DG_BROKER_START=TRUE
    6) go through the many steps to recreate data guard broker configuration
    I am just curious whether this is the right way and whether there is any simple way?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi, I saw same issue when doing switchover testing in my lab environment.prerequisite is primary role and standby role switched and og can be applied without data guard broker.
    Here is the step I resolved the issue
    1)on both primary and standby database
    SQL> alter system set dg_borker_start=false;
    on primary DB:
    SQL>alter system set dg_broker_config_file1='?/dbs/dr1afterswichoverpry.dat';
    SQL>alter system set dg_broker_config_file1='?/dbs/dr2afterswichoverpry.dat';
    on standby DB:
    SQL>alter system set dg_broker_config_file1='?/dbs/dr1afterswichoverstby.dat';
    SQL>alter system set dg_broker_config_file1='?/dbs/dr2afterswichoverstby.dat';
    2) enable dg_borker_start on both primay and sandbby db
    SQL> alter system set dg_borker_start=true;
    3)on primary database to create configuration
    Hope this can help you!
