Another BW question about filter in the query definition

Hi ,
I have another question about filter in the query definition.
<u>Question:</u>
Which of the following objects can be filtered in the query definition?
A. characteristic
B. Key figure
C. Structure
D. Units
E. Hierarchy
My answer is A,B,D,E.
The answer in the book is A,B,D
Can anybody tell me which one is wrong?

1.The answer could be A,B,D.you can not apply filters on hierarchies
2.Whenever there is a change in Attribute data(like Location,Num etc...)that has to be reflected in all aggregates of the cube.Thsi can be done by running "ATTRIBUTE CHANGE RUN".

    i'm facing the following problem and need your help.
    when i hide 1ROWCOUNT in the query definition the records which do not have values desapeare from the query when i excute the query.
    any advise to solve this.

    Hi,
    Calculate KF consists of Basic, restrict and other calculated kFs stored in Metadata repository.
    Calculate KF is a replicate of Formula and acts as Global.
    Calculate KF acts as Global--you can use Globally.
    Formula as Local--you can use as local to Query.
    you can create the Calculate KF as follow:
    Goto Query Designer>Open/Create Query>Select Key Figures Mode on left side of Query>Select that KF node> right click Select Calculate Keyfigure.
    then one popup window dispays, so you make the calculations based on Basic KF, Restirct Kf and Formule. then save it.

  • A question about some of the features

    I have Vista so therefore am unable to use the trial version of photoshop elements. Before I go ahead and purchase the software, I had a few questions about its features.
    I'll mainly be using photoshop to create digital scrapbooks. I know that photoshop comes equipped with themes and images, but I would like to know if I can use my own backgrounds and images. If I am able to use my own backgrounds, can they tile?
    Another thing I would like to know is if I can create my own projects with custom dimensions.
    Lastly, I'll be using photoshop to sprite. Is elements well suited for spriting? More specifically, does it have a color selection/replacement tool?

    I use PSE for digital scrapbooking. Instead of using the "built in"
    creations and albums, just create your own PSD files with layers of
    whatever images/embellishments/background papers you want. You can
    specify whatever size of creation you want when you create your PSD file
    (you only have the choice of certain sizes when you use the built in
    stuff).
    Not sure about what you mean about making your backgrounds tile, but I
    think it is possible. You can take a "background" paper, do a selection,
    and then define a pattern and fill it. Or, if you mean layer your
    background papers - yes you can do that too. (Here is my online

    You can select by color (using the magic wand tool) and you can replace
    color, but it may not work exactly as you expect. (I also don't know
    what spriting is.) But, many people just use a hue/saturation adjustment
    layer to change colors.

  • Question about SUM in SQL query

    I have a SQL ststement which is listed below along with it's output.
    For the NUM_REQ column, I am expecting to get the number 832 because the pm_requirements_table contains 16 records and they all have a frequency of WEEKLY.
    16 * 52 = 832. The query returns 12480 which I can see that it is multiplying the 832 by 15 which is the number of entries in the lpm table 16 * 52 * 15 = 12480.
    I need the lpm table in there for other reasons, so my question is how can I get it to return 832 and still have the lpm table as part of the query.

  • Question about De-Factoring a query

    Good afternoon,
    I have the following query that produces the results I want (it does a DENSE_RANK):
    with agelist as
       select age
         from student
        group by age

            select count(*)

           )                                as rankedage
      from agelist
    order by rankedage
    ;As an exercise (I'm learning SQL), I wanted to write the equivalent query without using the WITH clause (and without using DENSE_RANK either - in other words, keeping it plain vanilla SQL). Everything I've tried either gives wrong results or a syntax error <chuckle>.
    the question is: What does the working query ;) look like without the WITH (effectively defactoring the "agelist" query ?

    Sorry, but I'm not quite sure what you're trying to do.
    Your WITH clause returns a distinct list of ages. So any ranking can only be a dense_rank since you'll never have a tie. The rownum solution posted by Clearance will accomplish the same thing.
    The whole point of RANK vs DENSE_RANK is how to number the results in the event of equal numbers in the list. Using a distinct or group by kind of defeats the purpose.
    If you comment out the GROUP BY in WITH clause, you get this:

  • Question about filter VI in LabVIEW.

    I am using LabVIEW 7.  I am trying to reduce the noise in a voltage signal that I am sending to LabVIEW.  When I use the filter VI (Functions> Signal Analysis> Filter), the output signal looks like the frequency response of the filter.  I need to simply get the filtered signal in the time domain.  How can I get this? 
    Are there other ways to reduce the noise of a signal in LabVIEW?

    There are a couple things that stick out in my mind. First if you are using the the Express Filter VI, you need to make sure that you know at about what frequency the signal you are acquiring is at. That way you can appropriately set up the filter to get rid of any components you don't want. Since you are wanting to do a time domain, a straight DC voltage won't show any results. Most noise on acquired signals is 60Hz noise, so I would suggest using the appropriate filter to get rid of that noise. If this doesn't help get rid of the noise, it might be an issue with how you are acquiring your signal. In that case you need to let us know how you are acquiring the signal, what hardware your using, and the specs of the acquistion. That way we can come up with some suggestions on what we could do from the hardware end.
    There are also some generic filter VIs located in All Functions>>Analyze>>Signal Processing>>Filters that you could try using to see if you have any success. Let us know how it goes.

  • Another MySQL question about averages. Remove outliers.

    I have a number of observations that I can get from a MySQL database.
    Let's assume the values I have are, ordered ascending:
    3, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 8, 9, 15.
    Just calculating the AVG results in 63/9 = 7.00
    If I want to repeat that but leave out both the minimum and the maximum values, in this case both the 3 and the 15, giving the following list:
    5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 8, 9
    then the average is only 45/7 =  6.43 to gain more statistical accuracy, how do I need to modify my query?
    Currently the query is like this:
    $query_Recordset1 = 'SELECT COUNT(Graphics_card) AS Obs, Graphics_card, AVG(MPE_Off/MPE_On) AS Gain , AVG(MPE_On) AS Speed FROM `Personal_data` WHERE MPE_On >0 GROUP BY Graphics_card HAVING COUNT(Graphics_card) > 4 ORDER BY Speed ASC, Obs DESC, Gain DESC LIMIT 0, 20' ;
    In this query the minimum number of observations is 5 for each distinct 'Graphics_card'. In the future I may change that to another figure and that is easy, just change the bold 4 to another figure but then, I may want to recalculate the adjusted average by leaving out the two bottom observations and the two top observations, so the range in the calculation would look like this:
    5, 6, 6, 6, 8
    and then the adjusted average is only 31/5 = 6.20
    How do I need to adjust my query to achieve that?
    Or, to put it another way, how can I first exclude the top X and bottom X observations from the query and only then calculate the AVG?

    I solved it for the first part like this:

    This effectively removes the most significant outlier (MAX for Speed and MIN for Gain) and calculates the average based on the number of observations minus 1 for each category. In the same way I could remove the outlier at the other side of the spectrum, MIN for Speed and MAX for Gain, but then reduce the number of observations by 2 instead of 1.
    SELECT COUNT(Graphics_card) AS Obs, Graphics_card, (SUM(MPE_On) - MAX(MPE_On) - MIN(MPE_On))/(COUNT(Graphics_card)-2) AS Speed, (SUM(MPE_Off/MPE_On) - MIN(MPE_Off/MPE_On) - MAX(MPE_Off/MPE_On))/(COUNT(Graphics_card)-2) AS Gain FROM `Personal_data` WHERE MPE_On >0 GROUP BY Graphics_card HAVING COUNT(Graphics_card) > 5 ORDER BY Speed ASC LIMIT 0, 20
    I struggled with the Group function to use the suggestions in the link you gave me and of course the different functionality between MySQL and Oracle SQL.
    I look forward to having a MEDIAN function in MySQL.

    i write tool for downloading applet on card. I use apdu trace from NXP eclipse plugin as source of information and i read also about cap-file format in Java Card Virtual Machine specification. And i have questions about data transferred by LOAD command.
    As example - from apdu trace i see that transferred data are "C4820E33 DATA1 DATA2". Full length of transferred data is 0x2EE2.
    C4 - OK, this is "Load File Data Block" tag as specified in Global Platform
    820E33 - OK, this length of tag, =0x0E33
    DATA1 - sequence of cap-file components: Header.cap, Directory.cap, Import.cap, Applet.cap, Class.cap, Method.cap, StaticField.cap, ConstantPool.cap, RefLocation.cap. Length of DATA1 is 0x0E33, i.e. DATA1 = 'C4'-tag value.
    DATA2 - sequence of two cap-file components: Descriptor.cap and Debug.cap. These components are out of 'C4'-tag.
    the questions mentioned above... here they are:
    1. Global Platform does not define any data in LOAD command except 'E2' and 'C4' tag. Why DATA2 is transferred out of any tags?
    2. Whether the sequence of cap-file components is important? i.e. Can i load Header.cap, Directory.cap etc. in other order than i see in DATA1 field from apdu-trace?
    3. Debug.cap seems to be optional component. And what about Descriptor.cap component? Need i load it on card?

I assume you ran the project in JCOP Tools in debug mode against the simulator? If you did this against a real card it would fail as it does not have an instrumented JCRE capable of debugging code. You could try running the project as opposed to debugging to see the difference.

    I'll ask people I know on the Apache team. I know they code review everything, but it seems to me if they're going to use nonstandard notation they should comment so people know what it means. I don't see any possible way this could be referring to xml, since there is no beginFill method on XML, and hacking the XML object on that scale through prototype would be highly destructive to the codebase.
    Note that just because source is being picked up and shown as the source code doesn't 100% mean that this code was what the swc is compiled from.

    This date is relevant for the time dependant master data if you are using it in your query.

    You can use a variable in the key date and then the master data suuplied to the query (like nav attr) will be as per the date you have specified.

  • Question about filter-mappings in the web.xml

    I'm a bit new this so apologies if this is a stupid question but want to write a filter mapping that captures /image/<identifier here> and /image/<identifier here>/size/<size here>
    I would have assumed <url-pattern>/image/*</url-pattern> would do this but it doesn't. When I try a URL with /size/ in it, I get a File not found error.
    So I tried adding a second mapping that uses <url-pattern>/image/*/size/*</url-pattern> and that doesn't work either.
    What would be the best way to write a filter mapping that captures both /image/<identifier here> and /image/<identifier here>/size/<size here> ?

    I did end up doing something like that in the end. I think I just couldn't get my mind into gear as usual on Monday.
    What's happening is taking a nice neat human readable URL and converting it to the horrible URL used by the system. The reason it's a filter is because someone had written a tiny filter would might only execute 20 lines of code and I think someone felt it was easier to just lump about 240 more lines to execute on each request, which, even if it isn't a huge strain on the system it's nasty and most of the code is unnecessary the vast majority of the time. I'm splitting it up the whole lot based on the various tasks.
    This particular functionality could be a servlet. I probably would have done it that if given the task from scratch but I think sometimes I put too much faith in the fact those with more experience should know better. I think I'll try it as a servlet and if someone has concerns about it then I'll ask them to explain to me why it can't be one.

  • Yet another pointless question about the practically non-existent iMac G5 Apple Hardware Test (AHT) disk.

    I have a 17" iMac G5 (iSight model) also known as model A1144, PowerMac12,1 or MA063LL/A.
    Where do I download the Apple Hardware Test (AHT) disk for this machine? Apparently nowhere. However, it would really help me on my quest if I knew what I was looking for.
    Does anyone know what AHT version is compatable with my machine? 2.2.1? 2.3.1?
    How about the part number on the disk? I have some Intel disks that say 2Z691-5734-A that (obviously) won't work.
    Is the AHT on Disk 1 or Disk 2? I'm starting to think there never was an AHT for this model.
    Where do I get those ASD disks the so called "geniuses" have?

    If a Filter is mapped to a servlet, the request from browser will be processed by Filter first. My questions are:
    1) Can we set Filter to JSP or other static components?
    2) If the request is forward from another web component, will the request be processed by Filter? or Filter just works for request from browser?
