Answers: Export to Excel: Charts being pushed off screen...

Hi all, first time posting, been searching on this for hours and I just can't find anything...
I have an Oracle Answers report that has a header, 2 basic charts side by side, and a data table underneath (awful pictorial #1 in bold). The entire width of the report is consistent.
The problem I am having is that when I export the report to Excel, the second chart gets pushed off screen (awful pictorial #2). It seems like there is some sort of cell merge thing going on. Is there anyway to get Excel to display the charts side by side the same width as the data table as intended?
Thanks.
Example #1
________Header_________
__Chart1__  |   __Chart2___
______Data_Table________
column1 column2 etc...
row1
row2
etc...
Example #2
________Header_________
__Chart1__  | >>>>>>>>>>> ___Chart2____
______Data_Table________
column1 column2 etc...
row1
row2
etc...

Hi,
I hope it's bug..just make SR with My Oracle Support team get confermation, i have also faced this kind of some format,cell merging issue.
Thanks

  • Window resized to show only title bar and pushed off screen viewing area

    Anyone else experiencing this strange phenomenon?
    I open some PDF documents, then leave the computer for a few hours.  When I come back, they have all been resized to only show the title bar AND they have been pushed off the bottom left corner of my screen, so that only a tiny portion of the title bar can be seen. I then drag them all back up into view, and resize them so I can read them again.  Give it another couple hours of not being actively used, and they disappear back down to the corner.
    Very strange Abobe... what's happening?

    Some details would help: operating system, Reader version, a screenshot perhaps: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1070933

  • When I go to "Share" and export the file is being cut off

    I am working on a slideshow when I go to Share the choose Personal Computer, mpeg (wide format), and then when the file is saved it continues to cut off my slideshow. The slideshow is only about 3 minutes long and continues to cut off about :30 seconds, the file size is also small. The photos were converted to RGB and 100dpi.
    Any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. I have completely recreated the file, reduced the size, and nothing has worked.

    The most common cause of material on the Timeline being truncated is the WAB (Work Area Bar) being set to less than the full Duration, and then Export Work Area being checked (radio button) in the Export/Share settings dialog. This will happen if one has been using the WAB to limit the area that is Rendered, or similar. This shows the WAB in an adjusted state:
    If you have used the WAB, the easiest ways to reset it, or not use it, is to hit the \ [Backslash] key to zoom out to the full Timeline, and then find the little block in the middle of the WAB. Dbl-click on it to expand it completely. Or, in the Export/Share dialog, just click on the Full Project radio button.
    Now, another reason for truncation can be limited HDD space. The full Project cannot be Exported/Shared. How much free space do you have on your destination HDD?
    Last, you give the dpi of the images, which means nothing in video, but what are the pixel x pixel dimensions of the still images in the SlideShow? That can be very important.
    Good luck, and please let us know if anything there helps,

  • ALV List export to Excel when program is run in background

    Hello,
    I am running into an issue with a custom ALV report which contains an export to Excel option on the input screen. However, when I attempt to run the report in background due to high volume of records/expected performance constraints, the job fails to produce a spool when the "export to Excel" option is selected. When I deselect that option, the background job successfully generates a spool, which I can then export to Excel (albeit the formatting will not look the same).
    Is the above an accurate statement or does anyone know of a way where either;
    1) The background job can create and store the Excel output into a cached directory?
    2) The spool generated, when exported to Excel, can match the format of the foreground Excel output?
    Thanks in advancce.

  • Screen content has suddenly gotten enlarged and off screen. Solution??

    Everything the bar on the top, and the dock have been pushed off screen. Everything is larger. It's an easy solution, what is it please? Thank you.

    Or, Zoom (not mouse zoom) may have been activated. To check for that, go to System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing and ,ake sure Zoom is turned off.
    Note that there is a keyboard shortcut to enable and disable that Zoom. To prevent it from being accidentally activated, you can go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts, select Universal Access in the left pane, then uncheck the applicable items in the right pane.

  • Poor chart quality when exported to Excel

    Hi,
    Whenever we export a chart to excel, the quality of the chart becomes very poor (blurred image and font).
    The images look crisp when viewing from report manager and the designer.
    Has anyone encountered and solved the same problem?
    Thanks

    As an update, I made a comparison exporting to excel from the following 3rd party add-ins: Dundas and ChartFx but the charts came out much worse quality-wise when exported to Excel.
    Is this a Reporting Service limitation or is there any setting that needs to be set?
    Thanks

  • Limit report from being exported to excel

    We have a report that we do not want to be able to be exported to excel. Is there a way, just on one report to limit the types it is exported toDBA

    Hi DBAMT,
    As Pete mentioned, by default, we can only disable Excel Render Extension for the server.
    However, a possible workaround to disable Excel Render Extension for a simply report is using JavaScript to remove the Excel option from the export formats list.
    Please follow these steps to do so:
    1.       Go to the physical folder of the Report Manager.
    By default, the folder is:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.3\Reporting Services\ReportManager
    2.       Please open the folder “Pages”
    3.       Open the file “Report.aspx” with notepad.
    4.       Embed the following JavaScript at the end of the file.
    <script language = "Javascript">
    //javascript: get parameter from URL
    function getParameter(paraStr, url)
    var result = "";
    //get all parameters from the URL
    var str = "&" + url.split("?")[1];
    var paraName = paraStr + "=";
    //check if the required parameter exist
    if(str.indexOf("&"+paraName)!=-1)
    //if "&" is at the end of the required parameter
    if(str.substring(str.indexOf(paraName),str.length).indexOf("&")!=-1)
    //get the end string
    var TmpStr=str.substring(str.indexOf(paraName),str.length);
    //get the value.
    result=unescape(TmpStr.substr(TmpStr.indexOf(paraName) + paraName.length,TmpStr.indexOf("&")-TmpStr.indexOf(paraName) -
    paraName.length));
    else
    result=unescape(str.substring(str.indexOf(paraName) + paraName.length,str.length));
    else
    result="Null";
    return (result.replace("&",""));
    var timer2;
    var dueTime2=0
    function RemoveCTLExportFormats(format)
    dueTime2 += 50;
    if(dueTime2 > 30000)
    clearTimeout(timer2);
    return;
    var obj=document.getElementsByTagName("Select");
    for(var i=0;i<obj.length;i++)
    if (obj[i].title == "Export Formats")
    var k = -1;
    for(var j = 0; j < obj[i].length; j ++)
    if(obj[i].options[j].value.toLowerCase() == format.toLowerCase())
    k = j;
    obj[i].options.remove(k);
    clearTimeout(timer2);
    return;
    timer2=setTimeout("RemoveCTLExportFormats('" + format + "')",50);
    function RemoveOption(report, format)
    if(getParameter("ItemPath", location.href).toLowerCase() == report.toLowerCase())
    timer2=setTimeout("RemoveCTLExportFormats('" + format + "')",50);
    else
    return;
    RemoveOption("/ReportSamples/10000rows", "Excel");
    </script>
    To enable the function, please pass in the “report path”, and the format in the method RemoveOption.
    Sample: RemoveOption("/ReportSamples/report1", "Excel");
    Please feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

  • Right side of placed images being cut off when exported to PDF

    Hi all,
    I'm a beginner still trying to wrap my mind around InDesign and all its features, and have encountered a problem with exporting to PDF. The right-most 1-4 pixels are cut off! I think my problem may be related to what was discussed in this thread:
    Indesign, Image problem with PDF export... right side cut-off...
    But my issue has nothing to do with Visio. I'm simply placing PNG and JPG files that have already been created and are stored locally on my computer. I found that the only way to solve this is to add a few pixel columns of white/empty space to my images so the right side frame line in the images (created by Adobe Illustrator) appear.
    Having to alter my images first before placing them in InDesign is obviously not the best or the correct solution.
    Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this problem and how to correct it? Maybe there's a setting somewhere for image frames that needs to be adjusted?

    Hello again Willi,
    1. I'm using CS6 Version 8.0
    2. Umm... well, I'm VERY embarrassed to say Windows XP (my company is purchasing a new computer for me - I'm using what they have on hand at the moment...).
    3. The graphics are coming from Adobe Illustrator installed on a separate Windows 7 computer. I have a graphic designer colleague who creates images for the installation manuals I put together.
    4. Actually just this morning yet another colleague pointed out that PDF was the better format to use. Yet again I'm VERY embarrassed to say that I used to use Microsoft PowerPoint to create these manuals, and PowerPoint can't import PDF images. I'm trying hard to work with more professional software! That's why my colleague sent me PNG images.
    5. Here's a screenshot below. Remember I'm the guy who asked you that user manuals question in the other thread.
    To explain: the first step's image is in PDF format. The image's border appears fine. The second step's image is in PNG format, and yes, not only does the quality appear to be poorer, but even worse is the fact that the right side border is cut off. This is the same for the same image in JPG format. The other steps don't have images - they're just empty image frames with strokes specified in InDesign.
    Sure, we can use PDFs from now on, but still, the fact that other formats have this issue is bothersome. In Microsoft PowerPoint this wasn't an issue. Any idea?

  • Formatting lost when exported to excel

    When I export a worksheet results to excel the formatting is being lost like in my worksheet I wanted a line and space for every grouped item which is lost in excel sheet. Is there a way get around for this ?
    Thanks

    Not exactly sure what formatting you're having a problem with, but I'll list some of the points I can think of, of exporting to Excel and will hopefully cover it. I believe you may be referring to point 1 below, but just in case ...
    1. If you have group sort on for a column or more, then when exported to Excel, you won't have those 'blank' values for the column(s) that's grouped. That's why when you know someone will be exporting to Excel, it's a pain as all group sorts are usually taken back off (which can screw up exactly what you're trying to point out in the workbook).
    2. If you have a page -> item (ie: lots of values you pull down like a LOV), then I believe, that you won't get an Excel worksheet for each value in the LOV but only for the one currently displayed when you performed the File -> Export.
    3. When you export to Excel, you only get actual values, no functions of how it was calculated (ie: it'll be static, not dynamic).
    4. You can export to Excel using Plus and might not get the formatting characteristics you want in Excel. I've seen users specifically bring up Viewer just to get the formatting characteristics (colors, fonts, etc.) when they export from that Disco version.
    5. Sometimes when you export from Disco to Excel, that actual value that gets posted in Excel is different. I know ... it sounds wierd, but it's a fact. The problem is NOT Disco, but is a problem with Windows and a setting has to be altered (although I'd have to hunt what that setting is now though). However, I've only seen this happen a few times, so definitely not the norm.

  • Formatting an Export to Excel

    Can anyone tell me how to force a column being exported to Excel to be interpreted by Excel as a text field? The column contains only digits, but has values such as '0000' where all four zeroes are to be considered significant.

    Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately, enclosing values in quotes won't work. To give you a simple example, imagine the source for an interactive report is:
    select '0180' account_code, 145.23 amount from dual;
    When the user views the interactive report, they should see 0180 for the account code and 145.23 for the amount...and they do. So far so good.
    Now, they click the tool widget and select to download the report to Excel. Here's where the wheels come off. I need the account code to be interpreted by Excel as text and amount to be interpreted as numeric. Anything I apply at the download-level, like enclosing the columns with single quotes will apply to both account_code and amount. I need a granular way to specify formatting on a field-by-field basis, only to be used when downloading the data.

  • Excel chart - create second axis

    I've created a script which makes an Excel object, takes some data, generates a chart and then exports the chart as a JPG. The thing is it's a CPU report with one series for Mhz and one for % - and using only one axis results in it ending in the thousands
    and not being able to see the second series. Do you know how to specify a second axis on the right-hand side (left for Mhz right for %) which would only go up to 100? I don't even know how to do it in Excel, never mind PowerShell.
    Thanks in advance. Oh yeah, here's my code:
    # Generate graph
    $xRow = 1
    $yRow = $rows
    $objRange=$Worksheet.range("a${xRow}:c${yRow}")
    $colCharts=$excel.Charts
    $objChart=$colCharts.Add()
    $objChart.ChartType=4
    $objChart.Axes(0).CategoryType=2
    $objChart.Axes(0).TickLabelSpacing=7
    $objChart.HasTitle = $true
    $objChart.ChartTitle.text = "CPU Report"
    $a=$objChart.Activate
    $savepath = "C:\"
    $a=$objChart.export($savepath + "cpu.jpg","JPG")

    Hi Bobbinspenguin,
    If you want to add a second series in Excel chart with powershell, please refer to this article:
    Tutorial: PowerShell and Microsoft Chart Controls (or How To Spice Up Your Reports)
    I hope this helps.

  • Exporting to Excel from Aria People Search

    Is it possible to export to Excel from Aria People Search.

    Hi,
    If you are using 10g, then OLE2 is supported. However, it will be executed in the App Server Machine.
    If you want to do the operation in the Client machine (as how it was done in the Client / Server), you need to use Client_OLE (Which is part of WebUtil).
    Look at
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/htdocs/webutil/webutil.htm
    for more details on WebUtil.

  • Export to excel and others inactive in ALV GRID

    Hi,
    I am creating a report using the 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' FM and the export to excel fucntionality is inactive. There is no spreadsheet push button on the application toolbar and the List->Export sub menu items 'Word processing' 'spreadsheet' and 'local file ' are all inactive. I have tried to run the code on a different system and the export to excel functionality works there. I am considering creating a new GUI staus using the standard status contained in the function group of 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY' but will like to know if this issues can be remedied e.g is it probably a basis issue or a configuration issue e.t.c.
    Thanks
    Andy.

    Hi Max,
    Checked the PF_STATUS_SET routine and there was code that deactivated  all gui download function codes of the standard gui status if an authorisation check failed ( auth obj. S_GUI) but the function code for excel export is &XXL not &VEXCEL.
    Thanks for the prompt reply max, much appreciated
    regards
    Andy.

  • Export to excel with javascript/vbscript or with plsql(html table)

    i have searched for a way to export data from OracleXe to excel without losing formatting .
    So far i have found 2 possible relatively easy ways that i am still researching
    (i do not include the ask tom sylk format way of exporting )
    1 to export the query to a html table, while using stylesheets for formatting
    (using microsoft specific styles)
    2. use of javascript/vbscript to fill an array and write this array to excel with use
    of visual basic for applications in excel.This also provides charting capabilities.
    I am still researching this two ways, and have
    encountered a few obstacles (help would be appreciated)
    1 the first way:
    a. create a button " export to excel"
    b. create the following pl/sql procedure:
    owa_util.mime_header('application/vnd.ms-excel');
    owa_util.http_header_close;
      HTP.PRINT('<html>');
      HTP.PRINT('<head>');
      HTP.PRINT('<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html">');
      HTP.PRINT('<title>Title of the HTML File</title>');
      HTP.PRINT('</head>');
      HTP.PRINT('<body TEXT="#000000" BGCOLOR="#FFFFFF">');
      HTP.PRINT('<h1>Heading in the HTML File</h1>');
      HTP.PRINT('<p>Some text in the HTML file.');
      HTP.PRINT('</body>');
      HTP.PRINT('</html>');
    htmldb_application.g_page_text_generated := true;
    htmldb_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true;
    c: run the procedure conditionally based on the button  "export to excel"
    the problem with this way is that using htmldb_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true; is not the ideal way, because it
    stops further processing, but if i leave it out, the export doesn't happen.
    To export to excel while retaining data formatting  you have to use microsoft excel
    specific styles(Seedocumentation on the microsoft site)
    2.The second way:
    a create a pl/sql procedure or sql query.
    b use this query to fill a vbscript/javascript array with values
    c write these values to excel with use of vba in excel :
    the obstacle i encountered here was that i dont know how to export the result of a
    query to a visual basic script or javascript array.

    Using approach 1) works fine for me.
    the problem with this way is that using htmldb_application.g_unrecoverable_error := true;
    is not the ideal way, because it
    stops further processing, but if i leave it out, the export doesn't happen. Why is this a problem?
    I created the button to export the excel file on page 1 and created your pl/sql procedure on page 2 using an onload process.
    Works fine.
    Other approaches for exporting to excel are:
