Ant 1.4.1, ejbjar problem.

Hi there,
I am trying to use <ejbjar> task to create ejb jar files using WL 6.1
sp2.
My task is:
<ejbjar flatdestdir="true" naming="descriptor"
descriptordir="${ejb_stage}/META-INF" srcdir="${ejb_stage}"
destdir="${app_stage}">
<classpath>
<path refid="clpath"/>
<path>
<pathelement location="${support_jar}"/>
</path>
<path>
<pathelement location="${ejb_stage}"/>
</path>
</classpath>
<weblogic destdir="${app_stage}"/>
</ejbjar>
I have a task that compiles the EJB classes into ${ejb_stage}. When I
run ant -v, I get that it finds all the classes, but when it builds
the jar is excluding the LocalHome interface from the JAR (don't know
why). Now, it builds the jar file for the first EJB, but in the
second one, it says:
[ejbjar] Unrecognized publicId -//BEA Systems, Inc.//DTD WebLogic
6.0.0 EJB//
EN - using EJB 1.1 compiler
But the descriptor of this EJB has exactly the same DOCTYPE element as
the one it just built. Now, if I just change the date on the
descriptor file of that component, it seems to work; but still the
LocalHome interface is not in the jar file... I am not sure if the
LocalHome interface is really required to be there; it should
definetively be in the client side, anyway any help will be greately
appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Hi Juan,
It's possible to eliminate this problem and even to speed up build
process by adding these lines to <ejbjar> ANT task:
<dtd publicId="-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 2.0//EN" location="${external.dtd.dir}/ejb-jar_2_0.dtd"/>
<dtd publicId="-//BEA Systems, Inc.//DTD WebLogic 6.0.0 EJB//EN" location="${external.dtd.dir}/weblogic-ejb-jar-600.dtd"/>
<dtd publicId="-//BEA Systems, Inc.//DTD WebLogic 6.0.0 EJB RDBMS Persistence//EN" location="${external.dtd.dir}/weblogic-rdbms20-persistence-600.dtd"/>
Put dtds to external.dtd.dir.

    The following Ant snippet is the way I've defined my wscompile task. I'm creating a web application and it looks like yours might be an EJB endpoint, but you can adjust where necessary:
    <taskdef name="wscompile" classname="com.sun.xml.rpc.tools.ant.Wscompile">
         <classpath refid="compile.classpath" />
    </taskdef>
    <target name="init">

    </target>
    <!-- This target compiles the server components using an existing WSDL as the driving document.
           The configuration file must use the <wsdl> element giving the location (local file system
           or URL) of the WSDL document.
           Note: the fork argument is needed to over come a bug when using the mapping argument. See
           http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=592994&tstart=0
      -->
         <target name="generate-server-from-WSDL" depends="init">

  • Problem with Exported ant build script(WLS 8.1SP4) working with IBMJDK1.4.2

    Hi,
    I am trying to use the exported ant script from wls workshop for building the process application.But i am using IBM JDK 1.4.2 in AIX 5.2 box.
    IBM has disintegrated the rt.jar by SUN into a number of other jar files.When i run the ant script, i have a problem like,
    <b>classpath error:unable to find required rt.jar</b>
    error and the build fails with
    <b>noClassDefFoundError:org.apache/crimson/tree/XmlDocument</b>
    I tried adding <b>rt.jar</b> into the classpath forcibly but it did not work out.
    The ear file is built and packaged but the build fails.+
    Do we have a fix for this either by bea or IBM?
    Thanks,
    Vijay

    Hi
    This is a known issue addressed by CR205204
    As you said, IBM actually does not have rt.jar in its JDK - they have moved contents of rt.jar into various jars.
    IBM is not using org/apache/crimson/tree/ in their JDK at all.So the error shows up in the end of build even if it succeeds
    You may need to add crimson.jar to wlwBuild classpath, since it is not part of IBMs JDK.
    Note: the build will work even w/o crimson.jar giving a non build related IDE exception in the very end.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    This process will allow you to make a Vista Repair Disc. This is not an installation disc but will allow you to use the Vista Recovery Console that is available on retail versions of Vista.
    Download the file on the link below.
    Vista 64 bit
    This is a zipped file.  If you don't have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip which can be used to open this file.  Simply right click the zipped file, select 7-Zip, select Extract Files and then click Ok.  You should now see another folder containing the ISO file.
    You will need software to burn the ISO to a CD.  If you don't have this type on software installed, download and install ImgBurn and use this to burn the ISO to a CD.
    Once you have created the Vista Repair Disc, follow the guide on the link below to see if this will repair your installation.  If the initial startup repair doesn't work, try running windows System Restore from the Advanced Options as this may correct the registry corruption.

  • FlexPMD not working in Ant 1.7

    When attempting to run FlexPMD in Ant 1.7.0, we receive this error message:
    Couldn't find that class Can't find resource com/adobe/ac/pmd/rulesets/architecture.xml. Make sure the resource is a valid file or URL or is on the CLASSPATH
    However, switching to Ant 1.8 resolves the problem completely.
    Does FlexPMD support Ant 1.7.0?
    Anybody know why we might be getting this message?
    Thanks

    We resolved the issue.
    It seems the Ant 1.7 supplied to us contained an old pmd-4.1.jar in the lib directory.   Removing that jar solves the problem.

  • Invalid initial heap size Problem with sdk1.4.2_03

    Hi,
    ich habe a troubling error with the java version 1.4.2_03.
    I use an Ant Task to start a Weblogic Server (J2EE Server). For this, I use the following Ant code :
    -----ANT CODE------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    <java classname="weblogic.Server" fork="true" failonerror="true" dir="${weblogic.domain.dir}">
    <sysproperty key="bea.home" value="${bea.home.dir}"/>
    <sysproperty key="weblogic.Name" value="${weblogic.admin.server.name}"/>
    <sysproperty key="weblogic.management.username" value="${weblogic.user.name}"/>
    <sysproperty key="weblogic.management.password" value="${weblogic.user.password}"/>
    <sysproperty key="weblogic.ProductionModeEnabled" value="false"/>
    <sysproperty key="java.security.policy" value="${weblogic.home.dir}\server\lib\weblogic.policy"/>
    <sysproperty key="weblogic.security.SSL.trustedCAKeyStore" value="${weblogic.home.dir}\server\lib\cacerts"/>
         <jvmarg value="-Xms32m -Xmx200m"/>
    <classpath>
    <pathelement path="${windows.classpath.wls}"/>
    </classpath>
    </java>
    -----/ANT CODE------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    This Task perfectly works with the sdk java version 1.4.1_05, but I have the following message with the sdk java version 1.4.2_03 :
    -----ERROR MESSAGE---------------------------------------------------
    Invalid initial heap size: -Xms32m -Xmx200m
    Could not create the Java virtual machine.
    -----/ERROR MESSAGE---------------------------------------------------
    The following parameter is anymore correct : <jvmarg value="-Xms32m -Xmx200m"/>
    I have tried with a lot of possibilty, 64-200, 128-200, 128-128, 256-256, 512-512, nothing works.
    I have tried without this parameter, this works fine.
    I have tried with the weblogic server without the Ant Task, and this works fine too.
    I think this is a bug in the JVM 1.4.2_03.
    What do you think about this problem ??? Do you have some solution ???
    I have also tried with another version of ant, I have the same problem. This works with JVM 1.4.1_05 and not with JVM 1.4.2_03.
    If you have an idea, please, help.
    Thanks

    If you can start a 1.4.2 JVM with all these parameters independently (i.e. not from Ant) and it works, but from Ant it doesn't work, it's more likely that the problem is somehow related to interaction between Ant and the JVM, rather than the JVM itself. So I would suggest trying some Ant forum first - I think it would also work faster than if you try to submit this bug to Sun.

  • Create-tables problem

    hi,
    i've re-posted this into a new post.
    i'm following the java ee tutorial at sun.com and i'm having a problem with the bokstore1 example.
    i've set the password file correctly and when i go to the bookstore1 dir and type 'ant' everything seems ok.
    the problem i'm having is once i've started the server and DB server and then type ' ant create-tables' the build fails and i get this output-
    "Starting database it the background. log redirected to c:\SunAppserver\......\....\...db.log
    comand start-database failed
    delete-tables:
    BUILD FAILED
    C:\javaeetutorial5\bp-project\database-ant.xml:48: c:\sun\appserver\javadb\lib not found"
    can anyone help?
    thanks in advance
    mat

    Based on the info. provided, seems to me the value for 'javaee.home' in build.properties may not be correct. Make sure that the property javaee.home in build .properties pints to valid installtion of application server, for ex. if you do 'dir' or 'ls' you should see javadb directory at this location.
    Also check if you have a build.properties file under windows user directory (in addition to bp-project under tutorial) and if it points to a different application server installation.

  • About Ant

    I know, this is not the right forum to talk about Ant. But they don't have an own one.
    My first impression of Ant is: good idea, but no good design.
    Ant's XML files effectively imitate an own programming syntax. Thats not what XML is suited for. I think no future programming language or script language will ever use XML as their main source files like Ant does. Nor will any other Library or Framework do that.
    Being an Ant beginner, I have to learn to to program Ant scripts with XML. I cannot "reuse" my Java knowledge for that purpose. All the very basic things I must learn again when learning Ant: like calling a "method", passing "parameters", controlling program flow and so on. They are expressed different in XML syntax than in Java syntax.
    So what is the alternative? The alternative would if the Ant creator would not have used XML as Ant's source files but Java source files instead. This would have resulted in a Library or a Framework.
    Imagine all the Java Libraries and Java Frameworks being designed like Ant. How many different XML syntaxes would we have to learn!
    I think its sad that Ant used the XML files. It wold be okay to use them as property files, but not as the main source files.
    I could say more against the Ant design, but this is the main design blunder in my eyes.
    What do you think?

    I know, this is not the right forum to talk about Ant. But they don't have an own one.There is an Ant mailing list. Perhaps you should send this to the list and see what kind of response you get.
    My first impression of Ant is: good idea, but no good design.It's an excellent design, IMO. You couldn't be more wrong.
    Ant's XML files effectively imitate an own programming syntax. Thats not what XML is suited for. I think no
    future programming language or script language will ever use XML as their main source files like Ant does. Nor will any other Library or Framework do that.Ant does not pretend to be a programming language. There aren't constructs for looping, and the conditional logic is quite limited. I've even read in the docs (can't recall where right now) that it's not intended to be a full-fledged scripting language.
    Being an Ant beginner, I have to learn to to program Ant scripts with XML. I cannot "reuse" my Java
    knowledge for that purpose. All the very basic things I must learn again when learning Ant: like calling a
    "method", passing "parameters", controlling program flow and so on. They are expressed different in XML syntax than in Java syntax."Being an Ant beginner" - there's the problem. Shallow knowledge.
    They didn't intend for you to reuse your Java knowledge. Ant isn't a replacement for Java. It's a replacement for make. It is a framework that happens to use Java classes to implement common tasks, passing parameters to those tasks via XML.
    Actually, I think it's a very nice framework that makes it possible for people to add tasks as they discover them, because they can define the task class and the XML to drive it in such a way that they're orthogonal to all other tasks. Today one programmer can add WebLogic EJB tasks, tomorrow it's another sending in JBoss EJB tasks for inclusion. It's a flexible, elegant design IMO.
    So what is the alternative? The alternative would if the Ant creator would not have used XML as Ant's
    source files but Java source files instead. This would have resulted in a Library or a Framework.What do you think is doing the work behind the scenes in that ant.jar? Java classes! XML happens to be a convenient, well-understood syntax for providing input values to drive those tasks and glue them together.
    Imagine all the Java Libraries and Java Frameworks
    being designed like Ant. How many different XML
    syntaxes would we have to learn!This comment tells me that you don't understand libraries, frameworks, or Ant.
    I think its sad that Ant used the XML files. It wold be okay to use them as property files, but not as the
    main source files.You'd rather have property files than XML? You're a minority of one there. XML is routinely used to supply properties to Web apps, EJB descriptors, B2B apps, etc. What do you have against the use of XML? It's quite common, and a natural choice.
    I could say more against the Ant design, but this is the main design blunder in my eyes.Please do pass this note to the Ant mailing list. I'm sure the designers are waiting to hear from you.
    What do you think?I think this is one of the most ignorant posts I've seen in a while. - MOD

  • How to deploy EJB by Ant?

    Hi All,
    I am working with the Ant build script for EJB, which deloy on Weblogic6.0. But I don't get any result from my Ant script which used ejbjar. So I wonder who can help me with ejbjar task of Ant.

    You can execute any commandline action using ant. Here is a deployment target.
    <target name="deploy" depends="ear" description="TBD: Deploy the Enterprise application EAR and generates ${client.app.ejb.jar}">
    <apply executable="${j2ee_home}/bin/${appserver.deploytool}">
    <arg value="-deploy" />
    <srcfile />
    <arg value="${appserver.hostname}" />
    <arg value="${dist}/${client.app.ejb.jar}" />
    <fileset dir="${dist}" includes="${container.ear}" />
    </apply>

  • Vision M problem persisting....I have tried EVERY solution

    Hi there,
    I know there are a million and one other threads about people having trouble with their Zen Vision M's and connection issues, but after having read them all and gone through every possible solution to the problem I could find my problem still persists.
    The problem is this: I've had it since Christmas and everything has been fine, I ran the battery dead recently and tried to plug it in to charge from USB like normal......nothing, would not charge. So I bought a mains adapter and have charged it up to full but still I plug the zen vision M in and I get a popup about new hardware, 'zen vision m found', 'MPT device found' then the windows hardware installer pops up, trying to install any drivers....doesn't work.
    I've gone through uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, checking my USB registry permissions, uninstalling it from device manager and rebooting with the device still connected, all the fixes on the blog site, I have up-to-date SP2, I've tried all my USB ports, and still no joy.
    If there are any other suggestions PLEASE let me know because I'm completely out of options.
    Thanks.
    Ant.

    I have solved the problem.
    It seems that although I had Windows media player installed, some of it's key services with regards portable devices had been removed or stopped. I just reinstalled WMP and the player was detected by windows immediately.
    Strange that the player should rely solely on a program's service that is not created by (and therefore not able to be fixed by) the manufacturer of the device itself.
    But there you have it, that's one more solution to add to the growing list of 'reasons why the Zen isn't recognised'.

  • Headphone output not working on Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro

    I've installed the (only available) beta driver for Vista under Vista RTM, but can't get the headphone output to work at all...
    Sound keeps playing through the line out, but no matter what i do i can't get it routed through the headphone output. Is it a known issue or is there a solution?
    (Oh, and for all the forum nazis - i DID try searching for a solution before posting and haven't found a single shred of useful information)
    Regards and thanks in advance,
    Ante Vukorepa

    I can understand your problem cause i have the same one, and its very annoying.....

    Sound system are Cambridge Soundworks with Sub 5..
    Im trying my TECHNIKA TA-05 headphones i brought from tesco's rofl, and when i plug them into my jack BOOM, no sound, unplug and tada sound.
    If anyone has a solution that would be great!!!.
    Cheers! and have a good valentines.

  • Target to execute multiple junit tests from jar file

    I have written a custom selenium framework using JUnit and Selenium, problem I am having right now is our team wants to run the tests inside HP Quality Center (I have no idea or any experience with Quality Center) but if I provide a jar file the them they can execute it inside the Quality Center (Reason to run it in Quality Center is for reporting purpose).
    Problem is that I have created my framework in away that You can create multiple JUnit base test files for different tests also keep in mind that these classes dont need main method (This is where the problem when it comes to jaring up ). I have introduced following ant target to run all the test cases.
         <target name="test.selenium" depends="jar" description="target to execute all the selenium tests.">
              <junit printsummary="yes">
                   <classpath>
                        <path refid="classpath"/>
                        <path refid="application"/>
                   </classpath>
                   <batchtest fork="yes">
                        <fileset dir="${src.dir}" includes="**/Test*Selenium.java"/>
                   </batchtest>
              </junit>
         </target>above ant target runs without any problem, but when you jar it up you need a manifest and main class, is there away I cant introduce some attribute that can execute all my tests without adding main method to each of them.
    Here is my ant target for jar
         <target name="jar" depends="compile"
                   description="Generates final jar">
              <copy todir="${build.jar}">
                   <fileset dir="lib" excludes="**/*.java"/>
              </copy>
              <jar jarfile="${build.jar}/yukonSelenium.jar"
                        basedir="${build.classes}">
                   <manifest>
                        <attribute name="Main-Class" value="com.somepackage.selenium.test.TestAuthenticationSelenium"/>
                        <attribute name="Class-Path"
                             value=". /c:/build/jar/log4j-1.2.15.jar /c:/build/jar/junit-4.6.jar /c:/build/jar/selenium-java-client-driver.jar /c:/build/jar/dom4j-1.6.1.jar"/>
                   </manifest>
              </jar>
         </target>And this is how the Test Class looks like, I have added main method in this but once i do this after jaring java -jar myJarfile.jar will only execute just the class i have main method init.
    public class TestAuthenticationSelenium extends SomePrivateFrameWorkClass {
         private void init() {
              start();
         @Test
         public void testProductNav() {
                //somecode
         @Test
         public void multipleLogin() throws FileNotFoundException, InterruptedException {
                             //Some Code
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              org.junit.runner.JUnitCore.main("com.somepackage.selenium.test.TestAuthenticationSelenium");
    }Please let me know if i should put the entire ant build file.
    Thanks for any help.

    What i mean is if i have 3 class files in my jar file, and each one of those classes has a main method, how will i be able to execute a class of my choice from that jar file. In manifest files, you specify the main class, but how would i specify multiple classes with main methods, or achieve my objective here.
