Ant bug (generate buildfile) in EA 10.1.3.0.3?
When I try to create a new Ant buildfile from project for my JSF project using EA (10.1.3.0.3), I receive the following error:<br>

Yes, this is a bug in the Early Access release. This can happen, for example, if there is a library in your project whose name contains a character such as a colon, single quote, slash, backslash, parenthesis, question mark, etc. In that case changing the library name should work around the issue.

ECLIPSE, ANT and generating WAR files...
I'm trying to configure my Eclipse Ant Builder, so that I can have the WAR of my web-app generated in a single task.
The "build.xml" that Eclipse generates as a result of the "Export" task does good (obviously!), but I'd like to add a "generate-war" task, which (depending on the "build" task) should also create the WAR, adding all the needed resources into it.
The problem I'm facing is about the external libraries that I want to be included in the "WEB-INF/lib" directory of the WAR.
Infact, I'd like them to be "loaded" directly from the classpath, that is directly from the "path" element created by eclipse during the Export task.
So, in "build.xml" I have:
<path id="MyWebApp.classpath">
<path refid="Database.userclasspath"/>
<path refid="JavaHelp.userclasspath"/>
</path>where, for example:
<path id="Database.userclasspath">
<pathelement location="path-to-jar"/>
<pathelement location="path-to-another-jar"/>
</path>And in "build-user.xml" I want to make a target capable of copying all the jars referenced by "MyWebApp.classpath", discovering them automatically.
The problem is that the "copy" tasks need a fileset or a dir, whereas what I have is a path reference...
Has anyone been involved in the same?
Thanks in advance for your help!!I don't know what you mean by "reproducing what eclipse does". Eclipse will use the projects java build path, and you can add the jars from your WEB-INF/lib directory to this path.
If you really don't want to put the jars in WEB-INF/lib then:
<property environment="env"/>
<property name="xxx.jar" location="${env.CATALINA_HOME}/common/lib/xxx.jar"/> // for example
<path id="webapp.base.classpath">
<pathelement location="${xxx.jar}"/> // refer to the property not the file directly
</path>
// etc ... -

BUG:generate accessors not doing anything on abstract class
I can't get a source file (abstract class) to generate accessors. I am using 10.1.3.0.0 production release. Concrete classes generate accessors fine.
Here is how to reproduce the problem:
Create an interface MyInterface with getMyThing() and setMyThing(String thing)
Create an abstract class that implements MyInterface
add a property and select generate accessor either from the source or from the menu "source"
nothing happens
remove the abstract keyword and the interface implementation -- generate accessors work fine

Sorry for the reply delay. I didn't get a notification of reply on the post.
I am still able to get the error message dialog, along with the failure for the generation to terminate. (reproduced today 4/22/06 and others seem to be seeing it as well).
I can't identify anything specific in the steps.
Basically...
created a new application with ejb, adf, toplink
choose new project
choose toplink generate java objects
choose an existing validated database connection
select objects (all 4 tables in my little schema)
click through (...next...next...) to finish
locks up and dialog appears
I made a video of the steps, including verifying the database connection. If you want to see it, I'll email it to you.
here it is today (I've applied all updates available up to today):

CS4 selection marquee marching ants - bug
In Photoshop CS4 tryout in Mac OS X 10.5.5: Selection marquee is incorrectly drawn one pixel to the left of the actual selection. Simply create a new document, like 800 x 600 pixels, then select all (Command+A). The "marching ants" selection marquee is shifted one pixel to the left of where it should be. Can anyone confirm?
I'm unsure how to report this to Adobe. They don't make it very easy.
-aWell, since it appears as if a pixel is being split by a marquee selection, and since by definition a pixel
cannot
be divided, then it's a display anomaly.
What you'll have to figure out is what region the marquee actually defines when you see what appears to be a line of marching ants running through the center of a pixel. Does the "partial" pixel end up inside or outside of the selection?
Then again, depending on the type of work being done, it may not really matter much, from a visual standpoint. -
Bug Generated in NT 4.0 sp 5
I recently installed Oracle Forms 6i and Reports 6i. Now though not all the time when I am logging off my workstation (standalone not on a network)the system crashes to the dreaded blue screen to preform a physical dump and the sys locks up causing me to have to hit the computers reset button. When I look at the Event Viewer in Administrative Tools is see the following entry for this event: Event Viewer - System Log on \\NTWKS 6/5/00
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000000a (0x05010055, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x80129df7). Microsoft Windows NT [v15.1381]. A full dump was not saved.
Has anyone else discovered this problem after installing Oracle Forms 6i and Reports 6i.

How to use the build file generated by Jdev to automate bpel deployment
Hi everyone I am trying to deploy bpel jar files and human task ear files using ant. When i use the ant which is generated by Jdev I am gettinng an error

Ant could not find the task or a class this task relies upon.
This is common and has a number of causes; the usual
solutions are to read the manual pages then download and
install needed JAR files, or fix the build file:
- You have misspelt 'deployTaskForm'.
Fix: check your spelling.
- The task needs an external JAR file to execute
and this is not found at the right place in the classpath.
Fix: check the documentation for dependencies.
Fix: declare the task.
- The task is an Ant optional task and the JAR file and/or libraries
implementing the functionality were not found at the time you
yourself built your installation of Ant from the Ant sources.
Fix: Look in the ANT_HOME/lib for the 'ant-' JAR corresponding to the
task and make sure it contains more than merely a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF.
If all it contains is the manifest, then rebuild Ant with the needed
libraries present in ${ant.home}/lib/optional/ , or alternatively,
download a pre-built release version from apache.org
- The build file was written for a later version of Ant
Fix: upgrade to at least the latest release version of Ant
- The task is not an Ant core or optional task
and needs to be declared using <taskdef>.
- You are attempting to use a task defined using
<presetdef> or <macrodef> but have spelt wrong or not
defined it at the point of use
Remember that for JAR files to be visible to Ant tasks implemented
in ANT_HOME/lib, the files must be in the same directory or on the
classpath

Ant mailing lists, until all of these causes have been explored,

AddDataSourceConnectionPool not working with ant on upgrade to 10.1.3.4

I believe the admin_client.jar has got updated after the upgrade ... do I have to do anything else after the patch upgrade? ...
Thanks,

addManagedDataSource == createManagedDataSource
addNativeDataSource == createNativeDataSource

How to compile a class from a Servlet using ant!!!
Hi I have the following problem:
I have a Servlet that must compile a java class.
Here is the code that i use to compile:

String[] arg = { "-buildfile", buildFile.toString(), "compile" };

ClassLoader loader = ClassLoader.getSystemClassLoader();
Main.start(arg, userProps, loader);
The build.xml file was written correctly, infact if i lunch the command ant by dos it is correctly done.

thanks in advance,
GeorgeThanks jfbriere!
It's a - little bit - more complicated than that to
write conditional steps in "pure" ANT. The following
is an example that works:
<project default="Trivial_2">
<target name="Trivial">
<echo>Target trivial is running.</echo>
<property name="foo" value="true" />
<condition property="fooistrue">
<istrue value="${foo}" />
</condition>
</target>
<target name="Trivial_2" depends="Trivial"
ial" if="fooistrue">
<echo> Foo is true. </echo>
</target>
</project>Of course, if you want a real <if> task (with <then>
and <else>) you'll have to install [url
http://ant-contrib.sourceforge.net/tasks/tasks/index.h
tml]AntContrib which is a third party library.Regards
I have tried your method and it works cool!

Ant autotype does not seem to recognize xsd:include
Hi
I am currently using WebLogic 7.0. I was trying to use ant autotype to generate
java classes based on a schema. I ran into a problem that the autotype does not
seem to include the other schema files listed with xsd:include. I could only get
around the problem by literally copy and paste the complex types definition into
the calling schema file. Below are the two schemas that illustrate the problem.
x.xsd includes y.xsd but however the EmployeeBean listed in y.xsd results in a
unresolve type with autotype. Problem only goes away if EmployeeBean definition
is listed in x.xsd.
Any help is much appreciated.
