Ant build & deploy script with CEP

Hi,
I want to create a build & deploy script with ant for our application that runs on CEP. I succeeded on creating one that is working well. I had one problem, which is that I now assume that the server is up when the script is running. I wanted to add a target to the script that will start the server if it's not running. The problem is that startwlevs script start the server and remain open. This effectivily pause the build script indefinitely. Does anyone have any idea how to overcome this?
Thanks

Just fork the execution of the script. Alternatively call java directly (that's all the script does) and fork that.

  • How to use single ant build to package with and without native extensions

    Hi,
    I am using iOS native extensions for Adobe air. For this I am listing the extensionid in the application descriptor file. Since the package with native extensions are meant to run only on device, I want my build script to work without native extensions too to be able to run on simulator. Is this manadatory that I need two separate application descriptors/basically two build scripts to compile and package them? Please suggest and let me know if more explanation is needed.
    Thanks,
    Swathi.

    why are you wanting to use single frames?
    They allow having the initial frame address stay in the
    address bar, and not
    show the linked page's address. The problems they cause
    usually override any
    value.
    Or- if we aren't using the same words the same way, please
    give an example
    site of what you want to do.

  • Add a start trigger to ant WebAS deploy script

    Regarding the Thread "How to generate SAP_MANIFEST.MF using Ant" I developed my    solution to deploy an ear via Ant to the SAP WebAS.
    Everything works fine but one thing I want to add is that the ear is automatically started  after the deploy job. Now I have to start it by the Visual Administrator.
    Is there a way to trigger the startup of the ear in the deploy-manager-config.xml?

    Martin,
    If you are using DeployManager API to deploy your application, then you can use
    DeployManager.startApplication(vendorName + "/" + appName);
    to start your app once its deployed.
    Hope that helps,
    Regards,

  • "Same Database" references and post-deploy scripts

    Say that I have two database projects - project A and project B.  Project A references project B as a same database reference.
    When deploying project A (with Include Composite Objects enabled), all of project B's objects are included, as expected.  However, project B's post-deployment script is not run.
    Is this by design, or a bug?

    Hi Jamie,
    In our scenario, we are using post-deployment scripts with MERGE statements as a way to manage population of initial data in certain tables.  For example, if you imagine a fictitious Gender table:
    CREATE TABLE Gender (
    Id INT IDENTITY PRIMARY KEY NOT NULL,
    Code VARCHAR(2) NOT NULL,
    Description NVARCHAR(16) NOT NULL,
    CONSTRAINT [UK_Gender_Code] UNIQUE (Code)
    we would have a corresponding entry in the post-deployment script such as:
    MERGE INTO Gender AS Target
    USING (VALUES
    ('M', 'Male'),
    ('F', 'Female')
    ) AS Source (Code, Description)
    ON Target.Code = Source.Code
    WHEN MATCHED THEN
    UPDATE SET
    Target.Description = Source.Description
    WHEN NOT MATCHED BY TARGET THEN
    INSERT (Code, Description)
    VALUES (Code, Description)
    WHEN NOT MATCHED BY SOURCE THEN
    DELETE;
    For tables that (for better or for worse) are expected to always contain certain values, this works very well to ensure that those tables are populated with the correct entries both when databases are initially deployed and when they are updated, and also
    works well to handle updating this data for new or modified entries.
    But, for same-database references, the post-deploy script never runs, and you end up with empty tables.  It's possible to work around this (deploy database B to target, then deploy database A, excluding composite objects), but it doesn't really fit
    nicely into the press-F5-to-deploy that SSDT's Visual Studio experience has.

  • Problems deploying ear file created with ant build script

    Hi All,
    I'm using Jdeveloper 11G and Weblogic 10.3. When I build my application and run it within Jdeveloper, it works fine. However, we have a requirement to run ANT build script and create a deployable .ear file that can be manually deployed to any Weblogic Server.
    I created my ant build script and it compiles/builds fine - the .ear file looks good. However, when I attempt to deploy it, it fails with
    javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet for servlet Faces Servlet could not be loaded because the requested class was not found in the classpath .

    I am not sure how to tell weblogic where to find the classes needed. I have a pretty huge classpath used when compiling - should I be putting the classpath in the manifest (?) - I don't think I should need to include the .jar files manually in the .ear file - since all the libraries should already be available in weblogic - or is that a misconception?
    Please help!!

    I answered my own question -
    I had to manually add the following to the WEB-INF/lib to get the error to go away:
    ${ORACLE_HOME}/modules/javax.jsf_1.1.0.0_1-2.jar and
    ${ORACLE_HOME}/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jsf_1.2.9/glassfish.jsf_1.0.0.0_1-2-15.jar and
    ${ORACLE_HOME}/oracle_common/modules/oracle.jsf_1.2.9/glassfish.jstl_1.2.0.1.jar
    that solved my problem. However, I think it'd be great if I could somehow just specify (in the weblogic-application.xml maybe?) that my application is using the above modules without having to copy the jar files into my WEB-INF/lib - any suggestions?
    Thanks

    I am using commons-lang 2.4.jar file due to this it generated above error.
    I reverted it back to earlier version now its working with apache ant 1.7.0

  • Building & deploying ColdFusion apps via Ant

    I'm trying to create a Ant build script for building and
    deploying ColdFusion applications as a WAR. I am able to compile
    the ColdFusion code, and creating the WAR itself is pretty simple,
    but there's two steps I'm not familiar with:
    a) How do you generate the applications' web.xml, config.xml,
    neo-debug.xml, neo-query.xml, license.properties, etc files that
    are needed in the WAR?
    b) Is it possible to use Ant to do deploy time configuraton
    of the ColdFusion app? For example, setting the database that will
    be used.
    I have looked at the build.xml that is generated by
    ColdFusion MX7's administration tool, but this only does the
    compile step and the WAR creation step. The doesn't seem to be any
    documented Ant task for the other things I asked about above.
    If anyone has done this, I would very much appreciate it if
    you could point me in the right direction. Sample ant build files
    would be especially appreciated, but even just a clue as to where
    to look for the info I need would be very helpful.

    I've also been looking into this and it appears you can only pre-load apps onto the iPhone that you have made, ie ones you have access to the original .ipa file.
    If anyone knows of a way to configure a large deployment of iPhones with a standard app base, Skype, WiFi finder, Units across 20+ iPhones please post it here.
    If anyone can save me from downloading each app 60 times it'll be much appreciated.

  • Help with Flex Ant build.xml error

    So I've started on a new project and I'm new to Flex. A lot of learning curve here. Anyway, I'm trying to deploy a project that uses flex and is built with Ant. We've moving up from a version of Flex 2 to Flex 3. The build file works fine in the Flex 2 app but for some reason does not seem to be working with Flex 3. I'm hoping someone can give me some insight on what might be wrong or where to start.
    The error is Command not found: compc
    The part of the build file it has a problem with is:
    <compc include-classes="${classes}"
         ouput="${flex.dist.dir}/${flex.app.name}.swc"
         keep-generated-actionscript="false"
         headless-server="${headless.server}"
         incremental="true">
    <load_config filename="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks/flex-config.xml" />
    <source-path path-element="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks" />
    <source-path path-element="${flex.app.root}" />
    <compiler.library-path dir="${FLEX_HOME}/frameworks" append="true">
         <include name="libs" />
         <include name="../bundles/{local}" />
    </compiler.library-path>
    <compiler.library-path dir="${flex.app.root}" appent="true">
         <include name="libs" />
    </compiler.library-path>
    </compc>
    Any help at all would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Sorry, I meant to address that. Yes, since we've moved up to the Flex 3 sdk, we are pointing at a new directory. The old directory was flex_sdk and the new directory is flex_sdk_340.
    FLEX_HOME is being set in the build.properties file for local building and then overidden in the build.xml file with this code:
    <target name="build">
         <available property="FLEX_HOME" value="/apps/flex_sdk_340" file="/apps/flex_sdk_340" />
         <echo>FLEX_HOME = ${FLEX_HOME}</echo>
         <antcall target="compile" />
    </target>
    I did notice a warning about not using the available property, so I removed it and just changed what FLEX_HOME was set to in the build.properties file to the server directory. Would mess up local building but regardless it didn't matter because it had no effect on the error being generated. I alos looked a little into the file property of the available tag trying to figure out if that was somehow an issue but I wasn't able to come to any conclusion.
    Before the program errors out, it does displayt he echo statement and the value of FLEX_HOME appears to be correct in that it does show /apps/flex_sdk_340.
    Thank you so much for your continued help. This is truly frustrating because nothing but a directory name has really changed and yet it stopped working. I can't find any information anywhere on what could be wrong and this is really my last resort.

  • ANT build produces not working package with 3.5 AIR SDK

    I used AIR SDK 3.1 and have ANT script to compile and package iPad(AdHoc for testing) application. I tried to switch to 3.5 SDK today but when I install *.ipa and launch on iPad it hangs at the spalsh screen.
    I tried to make release build using Flash Builder UI and it worked. So the question is has anything changed in terms of packaging/compilation options?
    Just in case attached my current ANT script:
    <target name="Compilation" depends="Initialization">
         <mxmlc file="${main_class}" output="${swf_file}" locale="${LOCALE}"  static-rsls="false" accessible="false" configname="airmobile"

              <arg value="${release_path}"/>
              <arg value="Default-Portrait.png"/>
         </java>
    </target>
    Thanks

    You may want to try using the settings used by Flash Builder to package the application, more details of which can be found at:http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/compilation-results-flex-builder-flex.html
    Update your ANT script with these, and try again.
    Please get back and tell if it resolved the issue and what change you had to made in your ANT script.

    Hi,
    Have you find a solution for this problem?
    I have exactly the same one. I must build my web-services with some dependence compiled on java 1.6 so I need to use the APT task with a java 1.6 but the problem "Apt task requires Java 1.5+" appear.
    Thanks in advance for your answer.

  • Running ant build scripts from cmd fails on Windows Server

    Hi all!
    I'm trying to build and package ME on a Windows Server calling the ant build script targets from cmd. This works fine on a Windows XP machine. On a Windows Server machine however the ant internal calls to nwcetool.bat are failing because -files are not found in DEPLOYARCHIVES. And these files are really not there although they should have been created by nwcetool.
    Does anyone have a clue why calling ant build script in cmd on a Windows XP machine will work but fails on Window Server?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Building weblogic ejbs with ant...

    Hi, it may be not the proper place, but I haven't found a better one...
    Here comes my question:
    I have an ant build.xml file where I have the following tasks defined:
    <property name="ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb/deployment/xml/ejb-jar.dtd"/>
        <condition property="ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb20/dd/xml/ejb11-jar.dtd">
          <equals arg1="${weblogic.major.version}" arg2="6"/>
        </condition>
        <property name="weblogic.ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb/deployment/xml/weblogic-ejb-jar.dtd"/>
        <condition property="ejb.dtd.location" value="weblogic/ejb20/dd/xml/weblogic510-ejb-jar.dtd">
          <equals arg1="${weblogic.major.version}" arg2="6"/>
        </condition>
    <!-- compiles EJBs -->
      <target name="compile.ejb" depends="init">
        <javac srcdir="${srcDir.ejb}"
              destdir="${srcDir.ejb}"
                debug="${npm.debug}">
          <classpath id="ejb.cpath">
             <pathelement path="${weblogic.sp.path}"/>
             <pathelement path="${weblogic.core.path}"/>
             <pathelement location="${outDir.core}${file.separator}npm.jar"/>
             <pathelement location="${srcDir.ejb}"/>
           </classpath>
        </javac>
      </target>
      <!-- delivers EJBs -->
      <target name="make.ejb" depends="prepare, compile.ejb">
        <!-- ejbc 'n jar 'em -->
        <ejbjar srcdir="${srcDir.ejb}">
           <weblogic destdir="${outDir.ejb}"
                     compiler="${compiler.ejb}"

                     oldCMP="false">

           </weblogic>
           <include name="**/*-ejb-jar.xml"/>
           <exclude name="**/*-weblogic-ejb-jar.xml"/>
           <!-- WLS v5 DTDs!!! -->
           <dtd publicId="-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD Enterprise JavaBeans 1.1//EN"
                location="${ejb.dtd.location}"/>
           <dtd publicId="-//BEA Systems, Inc.//DTD WebLogic 5.1.0 EJB//EN"
                location="${weblogic.ejb.dtd.location}"/>
        </ejbjar>
      </target>This should build my ejbs with either the wls61 ejbc or the wls51 one. Anyway ant seems to have problems finding the local dtds in the classpath, although this is specified in the documentation. When I set both location attributes to point to files it works perfect. The problem is that these are in weblogic.jar for the wls61 release. This has two solutions, but either are bad in my opinion:
    1. extract the needed dtds to a temp dir with a jar task and then delete em...
    2. put the proper wls.jar in the classpath so ejbc could automatically resolve the dtds
    Can anyone help or may be send his ant build file, where a <dtd> nested element is used for <ejbjar> for wls61?
    Thank you in advance
    Anton

    Anton,
    Your second solution is the correct one. If you look at dtd element description under ejbjar task in the Ant manual, you'll see that vendors jars are required in Ant's classpath in order for ejbjar task to resolve DTD dependencies, in which case you don't need to specify dtd elements. I don't particularly like it either. If you find a better way to solve this problem, let me know.

  • Building & deploying cubes in OWB (can we do these by using XML scripts)

    Hi Guys,
    Building & deploying cubes in OWB (can we do these by using XML scripts).
    Is it possible in OWB?
    Please help me ASAP..

    Hi, i managed to work out a solution with my web host.
    The problem was that they are using Apache to process all incoming http requests then only forwarding specific requests to tomcat.
    So by entering the port number after the domain ie www.mydomain.com:8080/ the http request went directly to tomcat and was processed correctly.
    Furthermore my web host configured apache so all requests go straight to tomcat so now the port number isn't even required and all is well with the world again!
    except... navigating to different pages in my site does not update the url correctly.
    For example the site loads index.jsp when entering www.mydomain.com/ but when navigating to another page (i.e. photo.jsp) the photo.jsp page loads ok but the url is updated to www.mydomain.com/faces/index.jsp which is not correct. When refreshing the photo.jsp page it reloads the index.jsp page because of the incorrect url.
    any ideas...

  • Deploying BPEL with Ant Problems

    Hi, I am trying to automate BPEL deployment using HP Deployment Manager, and need to learn how to use Ant to deploy our BPEL processes. I have setup a SOA Suite installation to play around with Ant, but I can't seem to get Ant to work from command line. I am able to deploy a sample process using JDev both by the Deploy option or with the Ant option, but I get errors when using command line.
    I navigated to the location of build.xml in a DOS prompt, ran ant, and get the following error:
    C:\JDeveloper\jdev\mywork\BPEL\HelloWorld\build.xml:27: Cannot find ${oracle.home}/integration/bpel/utilities/ant-orabpel.xml imported from C:\JDeveloper\jdev\mywork\BPEL\HelloWorld\build.xml
    I'm assuming this is because JDeveloper sets up it's own environment variables for running Ant within the IDE - what do I need to do to have it run in command line mode? The deployments will ultimately be run on RHEL4 - but for testing on windows do I need to set these to look like %ORACLE_HOME%, etc in build.xml?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

    Update: Problem solved by setting ORACLE_HOME and BPEL_HOME
