Any example of FOR UPDATE iterator interface?

Hi,
did play somebody with iterator with ForUpdate interface? I really appreciate any example of that. I am sorry, I did not find anything in documentation, just definition of interface in reference.

Oracle SQLJ currently does not support the ForUpdate functionality - that's why you did not see any further mention in the documentation.
Though you can define iterators that implement the ForUpdate interface and write UPDATE/DELETE statements (UPDATE ... WHERE CURRENT OF :forUpdateIterator), you will receive an error during the profile customization that positioned updates are not supported.
In Oracle the workaround is to also select out a ROWID column in queries for update and then use WHERE rowid = :(iter.rowid()) instead of WHERE CURRENT OF :iter.
(One of these days, when SQLJ supports WHERE CURRENT OF, this would actually be what we'd do in an implementation of this feature.)

I have used XpathApi class to get the XML node matching my xpath that does not deal with namespaces and it works for me. However, it does not seem to work well when I construct the xpath with namespaces (probably I may be doing something wrong example: //ns:node1/@ns:attr1).
Can anyone give pointers or some example snippet or some links to handle Xpath with namespaces.
Also if there is any better approach (Classes or framework) for handing XPath with namespaces then please let me know.

Is there any setting for update statement related to implicit commit because Update statement in my code behaves differently in different systems.

It isn't an alternative way: u can only explicit the COMMIT just as I said before:
Update DBTAB set COL.
COMMIT WORK.
Anyway just I said before the debugger can execute a COMMIT, from SAP help:
The New Debugger can run in exclusive and non-exclusive mode. Exclusive mode means that the application that is being analyzed exclusively occupies a work process of the application server during debugging. In non-exclusive mode, the Debugger functions are limited. In non-exclusive mode, after each Debugger interaction, the system requests a roll-out in the application. Therefore, an implicit database commit must be executed. This has the following consequences:
u25CF      Debugging is not possible between the statements SELECTand ENDSELECTbecause the database cursor needs to be closed when using an implicit database COMMIT statement.
In this case, program execution is terminated.
·        Debugging is not possible for conversion or field exits.
·        Due to the implicit database commit, inconsistent datasets can occur in the database.
For this reason, non-exclusive mode is not possible in productive systems.

Skype 7.10 application no longer able to log in any user, check for updates, or change online status

Hello Community,
Thanks in advance for looking into my problem report.
First off, I'm running Skype version 7.10 (777) for Mac, on my MacBook Pro Retina running Yosemite 10.10.4. I've been using Skype on this setup flawlessly for months. Recently, after adding some more credit in advance of making an international call (which worked fine), I ran into a weird problem. I can't be more specific about the initial problem, as I kind of dismissed it at the time, but it was some kind of error window from Skype regarding my attempt to add credit (which did work, btw - I see the updated balance and my bank account was debited as intended).
Now however, I cannot use the Skype application in any way. When I attempt to sign in - whether on my account (with the right password or a bogus password), or on another valid account, the application just displays the spinning balls graphic for several minutes and then reverts to the sign in screen. After rebooting my Mac, I was able to use Skype again, but now it's back to this behavior after I quit Skype. I've got a lot of work-in-progress right now and don't want to keep rebooting to try to get past this.
Note that my account/credentials is clearly not the issue; I can use Skype from my iPhone 5S no problem, and from Skype web on the same Mac. But the application itself on my Mac is DOA, whether using my account or another person's. Even the Check for Updates just stalls forever.
I have already downloaded the Skype app again and paved over the old one, and that makes no difference.
I also trashed my Library/Application Support/Skype, and restored a copy from backup prior to this problem, but it made no difference.
I've verified that my Mac firewall is not the issue - I've tried it with the firewall on and off without affect.
If anyone has a clever idea - or knows how I can get some kind of diagnostic log about what the app is doing when it's trying to contact the mother ship - please let me know!

Any example code for WVD spectrogram in labview ?

I heve been trying to implement the WVD spectrogram in my vi with no luck. Can't find any examples on how to do it.

Look at the Functions palette >> Analyze >> Signal Processing >> Frequency Domain >> WVD Spectrogram.vi.
This is in LV 7.1.1 Full.
The WVD uses a different kernel than the Fourier transform and works well with rapidly changing signals. The major disadvantage is the large amount of spurious signal that appears in the spectrogram.

Is there any better way for updating table other than this?

Hi all, I need to update a row in the table that require me to search for it first (the table will have more than hundred thousands of row). Now, I am using a LOV that will return the primary key of the row and put that primary key to DEFAULT_WHERE property in the block and execute query command to fetch the row that need updating. This works fine except that it require 2-query-trip per update (the lov and the execute_query). Is there any better way to doing this? This update is the main objective for my application and I need to use the most effective way to do it since we need to update many records per hour.

Thanks Rama, I will try your method. Others, how to query row instead of primary key? I thought that querying primary key is faster due to the index?
BTW, what people do if you need to update a table using Form? I have been using the LOV then execute query since I first developing form. But I am building a bigger database recently that I start worrying about multiple query trip to dbms.
FYI my table will have up to million rows on it. Each row will be very active (updated) within 1-2 weeks after it creation. After that it will exist for records purposes only (select only). The active rows are probably less than 1% of all the rows.

See Note 301077 - User exits for the interface to accounting. I think that EXIT_SAPLV60B_001 is the right option.

Any JPA features for updating table metadata without loosing existing data?

Hi there,
I'm having a database with live data in it.
Now i have to change some tables (add columns, etc.). How can i do this without using drop-create-schema mechanics?
Do i really have to change my entity classes first, change schema creation to just create-schema so that only new tables are created automatically and finally have to put all the "alter table" stuff manually?
Is there any better solution?

The table schema change will not affect your entities.

Are there any example VIs for TCP communications with winsock using LabVIEW 7.0?

I would like to join the request - I would like to know how to use WinSock from within LabVIEW to use a modem to dial a number and connect to another PC with a modem. An extra complicaiton is the fact that I need to be able to vary the number (to access numerous data acquisition stations).

It is simple, here is some sample code. You must use getbykey to get the document. Then once you got it you can make whatever changes you need. Then update it. where i have oOrder.Update() you can have oOrder.cancel

Make a seperate approval procedure for the GRPO. then he(End User) can add GRPO. but the manager can reject are approve the docuemtns like wise you can restrict the user.
it means it is draft mode this will not create the journal entry. once the document gets approve then it will create teh journal and inventory gets updated.

after some searching I've discovered that once I'm creating next line for accounting document it is not working properly.
When I debug the BAPI in SE37 after inserting new line it is asking for GL account input, however if I run it using VBA and delete the account from the code, the return message is not giving me any error that GL account is missing.
I appreciate any ideas.

Is there any examples of using ENQUEUE_ARRAY with messages that are compatible with JMS? either a VARRAY or NESTED TABLE of JMS content?
I have an after insert trigger that propagates to JMS and in the for each row loop I'd much rather enqueue as a batch than for each individual message.
It's hard enough getting JMS compatible content working where you are enqueuing just a single message but just what's involved to get this working with batches of JMS compatible messages?

Thanks for the response. I already looked at the link and a few other links in this forum that are related to array inserts/updates. However, I could not find answers to my specific questions. I am specifically concerned with the setup of parameters to the API calls (OCIBindByName and OCIBindArrayOfStruct) that fully reflects the two-dimensional nature of the array of structs that I am trying to insert.
Moreover, I need to set the data type of the columns to be inserted as SQLT_STR. I think this data type requires the programmer to supply the length of the null terminated C strings as well. If we are inserting just one column, we can provide the length of each of the strings to be inserted into a VARCHAR2 column as part of a OCIBind call, for each of those columns.
Since in an array insert, we are supplying multiple rows at the same time, how do we supply the lengths of strings to be inserted ? Should it be some form of two-dimensional array ?
I could not get clear answers to these questions from either the Oracle documentation or the links on this forum. May be the answers are there and I am just missing them ?
