Any hope for music folders on the ipod Touch?

Hi All
It is getting VERY difficult to manage my music on my 32 Gb iPod Touch. I have hundreds of playlists (for example one playlist for every version of a classical piece; on playlist for a pop album, etc. etc.)
Is there any hope for music folders as in iTunes on the Touch?
ed

Why do you have a playlist for every album? If your tracks are tagged properly, you can just use the album menu on the Touch.
As for when/if there will be folders on the Touch, the only people who know are probably working under non-disclosure agreements. Who knows what will change when version 2.0 of the software comes out next month.
Best of luck.

  • Why no support for Smart Folders on the iPod Touch?

I've been told that any folders you create in iTunes show up fine on the iPhone, iPod Nano and Classic. But they DO not show up on the iPod Touch. Can someone help me understand why this is the case?
    Thanks!

because apple have not made the feature available (only they know why)

  • How do I remove "web clips" links to web pages from my Home screen? Holding until jiggle does not produce "X" for deletion contrary to the ipod touch manual

How do I remove "web clips" links to web pages from my Home screen? Holding until jiggle does not produce "X" for deletion contrary to the ipod touch manual

Figured oout that I had restricted deletions of programs.
Settings->General->Restrictions-> (enter your passcode), Turn Deleting Apps ON
Afterward holding an icon until it jiggles will produce the X delete button.
You might want to turn Delete apps OFF after cleaning up.

  • What do I do when my iPod touch wants me to plug into iTunes and asks for a password on the iPod touch and can't do it?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • My iPod touch has no sound when I play music or use the iPod touch at all.  Yes, the volume in the "sounds" is all the way up.  It has not been dropped or gotten wet.  I turned it off and on.  now what?

My ipod touch (4th generation) has no sound.  I have turned it off and on.....I have the volume up in the "sounds" area.  When I push the side volume button, there is no image that appears in the screen that shows that I am either raising or lowering the volume.  Do I need to just rest the ipod touch as a new device? Or is there someting else I can try?

And, now when I do press the side volume buttons, the image appears but with the words' "sound effects."  what does that mean?

  • My ipad wants me to restore it. Is there any hope for me getting back the data before this happened?

So I went to turn on the ipad2, and there is an icon telling me to connect it with my MacBook to restore it. It worked fine the night before. Anyway, is there any way to get back what was on it. I am mostlry concerned with photographs. I am ashamed to say that I did not back it up as often as I should have.

I have not had any experience in getting any devices repaired so I'm not sure which store to resort to. An official Apple store should more than likely get you what you need, but I'm guessing it's probably more expensive. (if any cost for your situation)
I hope you get your problem resolved.

  • Any hope for music integration?

I was just wondering if there was a chance for a future firmware update to intergrate the SD memory and onboard memory of songs. Also for the songs to play by album order and not alphabet order, and for there to be a more than 2000 song limit. I have a clip zip and I love it, and I would want to buy a clip sport/jam if these features were added.

If it really has to be the Sport (which I appreciate for its sound quality) and you can renounce database involvement, there's the Sport's folder mode allowing access to all songs without a file-number limitation. If you like shuffle play, there's no other «clean» solution than putting your whole collection in a playlist, preferrably with all songs on the card, as a directory mix doesn't seem to work reliably (it does with one of my cards, but not with the other...). There may be a song limitation somewhere above 5000, though. In one of my two Sports I have a 64 GB card with all (>6000) songs straight in the «Music» folder to enable shuffle play through folder mode. This solution does work, but makes the player slow. Thanks, but that would mean taking out all my music from their album folders. I probably have over 100 albums. That's too much work. I'm just going to stick with my Clip Zip and Sansa Fuze, which both work great and have music integration and hold all my music. If I get another player, it might be a Sansa Clip+ from ebay or something since they're discontinued nowMiikerman wrote:
Saying it again: make life easy and get a Clip+ or Clip Zip . . .Ha! Right. I think the Clip+, Clip Zip and Sansa Fuze were the best players Sandisk made. It's too bad they didn't improve on them with the Sport and Jam.

  • Are there any parental controls with regard to the iPod Touch?

I'm a bit concerned about my young teenager being able to access the internet via the built in Wi-Fi, download chat apps and possibly inappropriate movies and/or games. Is there anyway to set controls like you would on your home computer? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Get the manual here and read page 95.

  • What the iPod touch really needs.

So I may have missed a thread on this... But does it not seem logical that what the the iPod touch really needs bluetooth. I could care less about using bluetooth for audio, synking or anything else but 1 thing...
Given that the iPhone is locked into AT&T wouldn't a bluetooth enabled pone allow you to use bluetooth's networking abilities to share you cell phones data plan? Granted some wireless providers (cough*verizon*cough) cripple there phones and disable this feature. but it would be at least an option to some people.

The ipod touch does not support bluetooth nor does it have bluetooth built into the device. THere are bluetooth adapters that you might use for like headphones but nothing like data transfer and what you mention. If this is a feature you would like on a future ipod then leave your feedback at the link below.

THese forums are for technical questions regarding the ipod touch and not for speculation or rumors. You should go elsewhere for such a thing. If your interested in how bluetooth works on the iphone then it is best to post your question about that product in the right forum linked below.

  • Is there any hope for a Nano 6th gen that went through the washing machine?

Is there any hope for a Nano 6th Gen that went through the washing machine?  All of the devices contents are showing up in iTunes when connected but the device itself is not working.

    Hello kpratta,
There is some hope. I have heard of someone putting the ipod in a bag of dry rice and putting the bag in a dark place for a 4-5 days. After that they used this:
    www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
This has the best chance. The rice absorbs any liquid in the ipod.
    Hope this helps.

  • I accidentally washed my iPod nano. Is there any hope for it?

I stuck my iPod nano in my pocket, and yes, forgot to take it out before my sister washed our clothes. Right after it got washed, I plugged it in to my computer, and it did turn on, just with a little distortion on the screen. It has been about a month now though, and the iPod won't turn on at all, even when it is plugged in. But iTunes recongizes that the iPod is plugged in.
Is there any hope for my iPod, or would it be better just to save for a new one?

I think that when you turned it on after it was washed, that was the end. If it's been a month and won't turn on, I would assume it probably won't ever. Start saving your money. Apple has refurbished models that carry the same warranty as new units and they are $50 less. Check these out:
