Any particular risks when archiving SIC tables ?

Hi,
I'm about to launch archiving sessions for SIC tables : S001, S003, S006 ans S033. These tables are growing fast indeed in our system and nobody in my company uses SIC transactions.
Is there a risk to archive these tables, eg. if I archive them after just one month of residence ?
Could the SD SAP BI extractors be impacted ?

Hi Serge,
... as Sales orders are created in a legacy system and then copied to SAP using IDOCs in order to be invoiced and then posted into accounting (FI)
Yeah, that's quite usual for the first step of a SAP implementation from a legacy system.
Furthermore, we have implemented SAP BI to have some reporting on invoice documents (specific needs not covered by ECC6).
Nice (and rich) solution!
Maybe it is the reason why people don not need to use SIS transactions.
Very good reason indeed.
We have planned to change our system in 2 ou 3 years and SAP will become the source of Sales Orders. Maybe users will want to use S001, S003... and other tables at this time.
Or maybe not, in the same way that Billing Document info is now replicated to SAP BI, then it would make sense to also replicate Sales Document and Deliveries to SAP BI in the future.
In general, my Consulting customers do not use the standard infostructures because they do not meet their needs.
New infostructures are created during or after project implementation.
Of course SAP BI is a much better solution, but sometimes small is beautiful
That's why I was wondering if archiving would be a cautious compromise for these tables : if we do have needs to access to the data later, we will be able to view them by SARI.
Not sure if that will be helpful, but will not hurt anyway. If something goes wrong, you would still be able to reconstruct the data in the SIS table anyway.
Concerning SAP BI extractors, my colleagues told me they were using 2LIS_13_VDITM datasource and my question was about an hypothetic link between the SIS tables and this datasource.
My understanding is that this datasource takes data directly from the billing item (VBRP), so it does not care about the information available in the SIS tables.

My external HD of 1TB is not being recognized by the iMac and when after a long waiting period it does, the whole computer becomes extremely slow. Do I need any particular add-on to make it workable?
Before I updated to OS X Mavericks I was using another external disk that was getting disconnected ocasionally so I bought a new ADATA HD710 portable 1TB Drive and moved the files to it. This new drive which is supposed to be OS X Mavericks compatible takes minutes to show the files especially when opening second and third level folders which has made mu iMac unusable
    What should I do?

Your Mac should be able to recognize many different types of drives (including Windows-formatted drives) immediately for Reading, provided they are in good working condition and not damaged. There should be no need to transfer to a different type of drive.
If there is no recognition of this drive, see if it can be seen in Disk Utility.
If your aim is to transfer the data on it DO NOT use ERASE or PARTITION as these will completely erase all the information on the Drive.
If the drive is present while the Mac sleeps, it is likely to drop out and not be seen any longer, especially if it is a USB-powered drive.

    Hi Amit,
The table vision CRMV_LINKPARTNER will retrieve the information you're looking for (just enter the service ticket GUID as input).
If you take a look how this vision is elaborated, you'll check how you can associate the table CRMD_ORDERADM_H to table CRMD_PARTNER.

You can use the utldtree.sql in the rdbms\admin folder to do that. See my reply in this thread
Re: Finding out all procedures , functions in a tree like structure in sequence
The comments in the script (and in the thread) show how to use it. The script creates a table, a view and a procedure.
Then you just use it like the comments describe. Here is the result for my SCOTT.EMP table. You can see I have a lot of packages and functions and things that depend on that table.

  • Are there any risks when using useMessageListener="true" for JMS Adapter?

As far as I heard there are some risks when using
    useMessageListener="true"
(instead of "false"). Is this true?
Or does the Partnerlink to JMS adapter became unstable?
When exactly is it recommended to use "true" instead of "false"?
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
What version are you using : 10.1.2 or 10.1.3 ? By default in 10.1.3 the JMS wizard sets the useMessageListener to False . I would recommned to keep it to this value unless there is a strong reason to change otherwise.

    Hi,
I can store employee picture successfully in R3 (T-Code: OAOH). I can
see it there too by Extract->Dispaly all facsimiles in PA30 for that

But I can't see the picture from ESS ,only a frame is coming. The URL
of the picture is <R3 hostname>:8000. But the ITS service i.e content

comming. I can't store any picture from ESS ..."System error when

I can delete the picture in TOAHR table from the ESS by removing the

    Hi,
Thanks for ur reply. But I have already gone through the steps. I can see the picture from R3 and store it there. But the problem is in ESS (portal). I can't store it from ESS as the address it going to store is <R3 hostname>:8000/fp/bc/contentserver........The actual should be <R3 hostname>:8001/fp/bc/contentserver........
Plz suggest me where from it take the value 8001 in portal for employee pic. For all other T-iview  working fine. Telnet to 8000 is not possible, but 8001 is ok.

  • Root cause of "SQL error in the database when accessing a table. "

    Dear experts,
I meet this dump "SQL error in the database when accessing a table" when executing a sql.
    Sql:

               possolution_id sessbundle_id sessdbid sessinstno pos~crm_ordered_prod

    Hi Jovito,
    This is info from ST22
    Short text
SQL error in the database when accessing a table.
    What can you do?
Note which actions and input led to the error.
For further help in handling the problem, contact your SAP administrator
You can use the ABAP dump analysis transaction ST22 to view and manage
termination messages, in particular for long term reference.
    How to correct the error
Database error text........: "SQL0101N The statement is too long or too
         complex. SQLSTATE=54001"    Internal call code.........: "[RSQL/OPEN/DSVASSESSADMIN ]"
Please check the entries in the system log (Transaction SM21).
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
        keywords:
        "DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR" "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB"
        "CL_AGS_SERVICE_SERV===========CP" or "CL_AGS_SERVICE_SERV===========CM018"
        "GET_OVS_SESSION_LIST"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
        1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
        (Unconverted)".
        2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
        (Unconverted)".
        3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
           In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
        Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
        4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.
The exception must either be prevented, caught within proedure
"GET_OVS_SESSION_LIST" "(METHOD)", or its possible occurrence must be declared
         in the
        RAISING clause of the procedure.
To prevent the exception, note the following:
It seems that after translation the native sql is too long. But I think this can be solved.

  • Archive pdf (table) (converted from spool to pdf(table))

    Hi friends
    I've used CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF to convert a spool-request to pdf.
That pdf (table) I now want to archive.
Normally I use FM archivobject_create_synchron when archiving OTF-images from a specific path.
But now I do not have a path to the file - instead I have a pdf (table) that I want to archive...
Do you have any suggestions how to handle this?
    br

you need to use the following fms
    - ARCHIVE_NEW_OBJECT
    - ARCHIVE_PUT_TABLE
    - ARCHIVE_SAVE_OBJECT
    - ARCHIVE_WRITE_STATISTICS
    - ARCHIVE_CLOSE_FILE
    and also check SBOOK* programs

    Hi
Try to see what all tables are accessed by data source. and see if there is any lock on that..
If some other job is accessing that table - then there might be lock on that which is causing failure..
    1) Try looking at ST22 dump also..
    2) Try to do RSA3 in R/3 and if see if its is fetching any records or not..

  • Error ODS activation - sql error when accessing a table.

    Hi,
sometimes occurs an error by activation ODS. I have proces chain and when is loaded second packet an error occurs. In monitor>>
-RSMPC 128, datapacket 3 is wrong, with status number 9
    -RSMPC 131
-RSDRO 108 - communcation error (sql error when accessing a table)
    In sm21>
-sql error when accessing a table
-The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was
either                                                      caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure <b>"UPDATE_ATAB"</b>   "(FORM)"
Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception
to occur, the running program was terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
The database system recognized that your last operation on the database
would have led to a deadlock.
Therefore, your transaction was rolled back
      to avoid this.
ORACLE always terminates any transaction that would result in deadlock.
The other transactions involved in this potential deadlock
are not affected by the termination.
    I have BW 3.5.
    Thank You very much.

There are a few different scenarios that I can think of where this might come up that all involve what might resulting in parallel (concurrent)processes:
Loading packets in parallel - that is there are X number of processes loading packets concurrently. This could be set in your IMG settings system wide or in the InfoPackage for just this datasource.   You seem to indicate that you don't have this.
Database parallel processing - RSAMDIN - ORA_PARALLEL_DEGREE ( there was a different RSADMIN parm for older versions - forget what SP the change came with).
You have multiple InfoPackages for the datasource, each loading what should be a different range of data, and they run atthe same time.
You could be loading from two different datasources to the ODS at the same time.
If any of these are true, I would look at bumping the INITRANS setting up.  Your DBA will probably need to do this for table and its indices.  There is a Note - 831234 that allows you to create a parameter in RSADMIN that will specify a INITRANS value (e.g. 20) rather than using the default. The ODS would need to be activated to pick this new setting up for the table to be altered.
You could also look at the Processing settings for the InfoPackage and change to PSA first, then target to see if that helps.
Or if you are loading from two different datasources at the same time, you might adjust your schedule so that doesn't happen.

  • ORA-00054 error when loading Oracle table using Data Services

    Hello,
we are facing ORA-00054 error when loading Oracle table using BO Data services
    (Oracle 10g database, BODS Xi 3.2 SP3)
    Test Job performs
    1- truncate table
2- load table (tested in standard and bulk load modes)
    Scenario when issue happens is:
    1- Run loading Job
2- Job end in error for any Oracle data base error
3- When re-running the same Job, Job fails with following error
ORA-00054: resource busy and acquire with NOWAIT specified
It seems after first failure, Oracle session for loading the table stays active and locks the table.
To be able to rerun the Job, we are forced need to kill Oracle session manually to be able to run the Job again.
Expected behaviour would be : on error rollback modifications made on table and BODS stops Oracle session in a clean way.
Can somebody tell me / or point me to any BODS best practice about Oracle error handling to prevent such case?
    Thanks in advance
    Paul-Marie

the ora-0054 can occure depending how the job failed before. If this occures you will need the DBA to release the lock on the table in question
    Or
AL_Engine.exe on The server it creates the Lock. Need to Kill Them. Or stop it..
This Problem Occurs when we select The Bulkloading Option in orclae  We also faced the same issue,Our admin has Killed the session. Then everything alright.
