Any possibility of getting records have been updated by another user

is there any possibility of getting the error
--records have been updated by another user.please requery to see the changes.
i am getting this error when no other user connected to same data base and only one session is opened.
i am getting this error under below case.
there are 3 fields in a multiple record block.
field 1 will have the total amount.in field 2 i user can enter the percentage.and field 3 will be populated
as field 1 * field 2 /100. if user changes field 3 it back update the field 2 as field3 * 100/field 1.
there is a POST in when-new-record-instance.
the above error comes when i navigate to second record
and try to come bk and change the values in 1st record.
if any one faced this problem or have any idea of it
please let me know.

the round option solved my problem. But still i am not clear with why it is giving when i am in the same session. Is there any link where i can get more info. on this perticular issue.steve i am not fully convinced with what u have said. can u give more details on this.

I am hoping that somebody can help me with this problem that is occurring only when I try an update a record in forms.
I have a block based on a join-view, I can insert no problems, but I can only update certain records within the block. If I come across a second record that is similar to the first except for primary key and a couple of other values and try and update that record forms gives me the following message FRM-40654: Record has been updated by another user. Re-query to see change.
The first record I have no problems in updating and I have followed a number of suggestions to get this to work, like setting the key-mode of the block to updateable/non-updateable and setting the primary key to 'yes' for some of the database items. I have also created procedures within the database that are called by triggers on-insert, on-update etc.
If anybody has any ideas how I can solve this I would be happy to hear your suggestions.

1) In the block properties change the Key Mode property of the block to be Non-Updatable Primary Key
2) Mark one or more columns as Primary Key in the item Property Palette - in this instance you would set the property for Empno.
Enforce Primary Key = no
Key Mode = Unique
Update Changed Columns Only = Yes
I found a bug entry that is supposed to be fixed in Patch 9 of Forms 6i (assuming you are running 6i). So if you could try with a more recent Patch set (e.g. 14) then probably the problem will go away.

Hi,
I'm using Forms version 6.0.8.26.0
In one of the forms, its data block is based on a view.
In POST-QUERY trigger, I try to change the value for a database item. This operation results in following error:
"FRM-40654: Record has been updated by another user. Re-query to see change."
After this message the value of the item is automatically being set back to what was queried from the DB.
I tried setting the DML Returning Value to 'Yes'. It doesn't help :(
Any suggestions please?

This message have several different causes. One cause is what wilfred indicated.
But I've seen this message appear if there's something wrong with a primary key, and I've seen it occur when doing a post command using a master-detail block. In the latter case, you need to requiry the other tables in your form.
In your case since you are using only one block, I'd look for a problem with your primary key.

Error in Multi Record Form. Record has been updated by another User?

I ma developing Form with 3 blocks (Control Block, Database Block, Button Block). In the Button Block i am updating one Row by calling Program Units as shown below
Select Print Id into Flag From <Table Name> Where <Conditions> For Update of <Column Name>. after calling this , i created another Program Unit as
Update <Table Name>

I assume that the table in your update statement is the same table as the one you based your block on.
You are manually updating the table, and Forms see this as an update "by another user" (even though it's you). To see the changes you made in your update statement, you have to re-query.
So, don't update yourself, let Forms do it. If you base a block on a table, everything is done for you by Forms.

Check which data records have been updated or created by the business rule.

Yes each aplication has 3 fact tables:
FACTWB:Real time storage, when you send data it is stored here and this is linked to the FACTWB partition in OLAP which is a ROLAP partition to enable real time updates of the data.
FAC2: Short term storage. If too many records are in the FACTWB the aplication becomes slow because these records need to be queried by the OLAP engine everytime new records are send to the database. To clean up te real time storage you can do a lite optimize, which will move the FACTWB records to the FAC2 partition. this lite optimize can be done even when users are in the system.
FACT: this is the long term storage. When your reporting is finished you can run a full optimize to clean up both FACTWB and FAC2 tables and store it in the FACT table. This contains all your historical records.
Evertime you run a reort, SAP BPC is looking at all 3 partitions and combines the data of the 3 partitions to present the correct value in your report. Remember that BPC is posting differences in the WB and not the final values. So if you have for example a record with 10 in the FAC2 partition and you send 12 to the database for that intersection, BPC will post only 2. When running a report it combines the 10 and the 2 which makes 12.
Hope this makes it more clear.

When a certain user saves a file in Excel 2010, she gets a message: "The file <name of file> may have been changed by another user since you last saved it." She can choose to save as another file or overwrite with her changes.
This just started happening a week or so ago. She was concerned that someone else was accessing her files, but we did several tests that opened, made a change and saved in a matter of seconds, and she still gets the message. It happens on
most files, but not all – both network and local.
We already tried the QFE_Saskatchewan registry fix. I also checked the file server for Services for Macintosh.

You may be confused by the error in Excel saying “another user”. Actually Excel cannot tell who (the real human) is editing the file. Based on my research the No.1 possibility of the error is KB2626998.

For Excel 2010, follow these steps:
a. Click Start , click Run , type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK .
b. Locate and then select the following registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\Options
c. On the Edit menu, point to New , and then click Dword Value .
d. Type NetworkAvailableTimeInSeconds , and then press Enter.
e. Right-click NetworkAvailableTimeInSeconds , and then click Modify .
f. In the Value data box, click Decimal , type a number value, and then click OK .
Note This registry subkey sets the time, in seconds, that Excel waits for the network to resume. For example, if you type 15 for the number value, Excel waits 15 seconds for the network to resume. You might have to do some tests in your own environment to
determine an appropriate value. You may have to try multiple numbers.
g. Locate and then select the following registry subkey.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\office\14.0\common\Internet
h. Repeat step 2C through step 2F again. Reuse the same value that you used previously.
i. Exit Registry Editor.

There are dozens of entries regarding "

contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user" and none of them are really SP 2013 so i thought I would create this entry.
I am getting the error above after creating a simple list with 4 columns. the list is created during a new site definition activation but when I click on my list, I get the error above. the list works if I deactivate the feature and re-activate
it. but has the error whenever the new site definition is created.
Has anybody encountered this issue on SP 2013?

Hi,
I am getting a strange issue with the error "Item does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user " with the below code which was under "RunWithElevatedPrivileges" in a application page.
public void test(int requestId)
SPList list= web.Lists["test"];
SPListItem lstItem = list.GetItemById(Convert.ToInt32(requestId)); //Error
But when I test the above code in a console application, it is working fine & I am sure the id exist in the list.
Can any one help me on this issue!

Go to the sharepoint list and check the item with id is exist or not?
Retrieve the data using another column instead of id column.
Just for testing.
Check the below way also

Hi everybody!
I have a sharepoint 2013 farm with 5 sever. I upgraded a site from sharepoint
2007 to sharepoint 2013. I had some problems to install and configure workflow manager and register it. but by now I found problems and I can create a workflow and run it successfully. My big problem is when I try to get a lookup field in my flow. the
flow suspended and I got the following error:
“List does not exist . The page you selected contains a list that does not exists. It may have been deleted by another user.”
Any solution???

Please make sure the source list of the lookup column and the list which consumes the content from the lookup column exists on the site collection.
In addition, to correct this problem the following steps should be applied:
Delete the affected Workflow association
Go to "Central Administration" - "Application Management"
Select the affected web application and choose "General Settings" - "Resource Throttling"
Increase the value configured as "List View Lookup Threshold"
Perform an iisreset to ensure that all in memory instances of the web application settings are gone
Add the Workflow association back to the list

This is problem show when User new item in List . User open new item page about 3 pages and User save each one page when page save complete , User will save another page.
