Any way to get the mail app to get updated message counts for other folders

I've been wondering if there's a way to get the mail app to not only check if new mail exists in my main "inbox", but also all of the folders on my imap server? I can individually visit each folder I'm interested in and while it works, I have to guess what folders might have mail in them.. It would be great to have the phone check all folders (or perhaps a list of subscribed folders) for new mail on a regular basis.. Any ideas?

Yes....
On the new computer, launch iTunes. From the menu bar click click Store / Authorize This Computer.
Then re download your iTunes purchases.

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard (command-C). Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Getting different message count for some mail boxes in a particular account

I am using java mail api in my project.
I am using two methods
Case 1 :
folder.getMessageCount()
case 2:
getMessageCount(String folderName){
int iCount = 0;
Folder objFolder = store.getDefaultFolder();
if (folderName != null && folderName.equalsIgnoreCase("") == false) {
objFolder = objFolder.getFolder(folderName);
iCount = objFolder.getMessageCount();
return iCount;
I am getting different output from both the above cases.
I have tested both cases on many accounts and they give me same message count. but for one gmail account only they give me different message count for two folders, Inbox as well as Gmail/All.
Can anyone tell me the reason for this difference.

Place archive_reports.sms in %systemroot%\ccm\inventory\temp\ for both 64-bit and 32-bit computers.
There are two situations where you can use this depending on the type of client:
1. To keep inventory reports on a client (that is not an MP), create the following file:
%systemroot%\ccm\inventory\temp\archive_reports.sms
2. To keep inventory reports on a MP (that is also a client), create the following file:
<x>:\sms_ccm\inventory\temp\archive_reports.sms
The XML file will be saved in the inventory\temp folder.

I finally did track down a number, it took some transferring but I managed to get in touch with someone who was able to recover my account number and let me pay the full bill. Any way to clear the Mail Queue Completely?

So it seems my SMTP service was hacked over the weekend, with someone deciding to use my server to send a whole lot of mail. I've shut down the service and locked down the security hole, but now I have a lot of mail sitting in the queue and it is taking hours to clear it all out by using the Maintenance tab. Is there a quicker, easier way to clear the queue?

Rather than using Server Admin it's generally agree to use the command line instead.
sudo mailq
This command flushes the mail queue
sudo postfix flush
To re-queue the mail queue
sudo postsuper -r ALL
Command to see what's in the mail queue
sudo postqueue -p
Command to delete everything in the mail queue
sudo postsuper -d ALL
If you've got lots in there it will take some time. You might benefit by stopping the mail service first:
sudo serveradmin stop mail
Use this command to restart the service afterwards:
sudo serveradmin start mail
If you've got a lot of mail in there it will take the time it takes. You will need some patience. This link discusses how you can secure your mail server:

Some friendly advice. Secure your server further by placing it behind a firewall. Only open ports required by the Mail Service. If you have to open ssh secure it by using ssh-keygens and disable sshd passwords. Beef up all your passwords.

How can I stop the mail app from downloading old messages and marking them as new.... repetedly

I have just bought myself my first ever mac, and i've been having a little trouble with the mail function that comes with it. The first time i connected my mail app to my hotmail adress, all my old mails started coming in and they were all marked as unread. i had like 7000 og them, so it took a while for them all to load. after this i marked them all as read, and it was fine for a couple of days.
I am not sure what makes all my e-mails load as "new" again and again, but it happens every so often. This is very annoying because i get a little notification at the top of my screen for every "new" e-mail.
In the beginning i didn't think that much of it, but now it is really starting to annoy me, bacause it has happened so many times, so my question is:
Have any of you experienced this? And how did you fix it?
And i am running the OS X version 10.8.2, if that is relevant

Is it an IMAP or POP account?
For POP accounts, you can select remove from server under the advanced tab of the account.

This is an easy one. In your code before you do the .execute put in the following line: String tempString = tableRowSet.getCommand(). Set a break point on the line after. Start the program in debug mode. When the program hits the break point look at the value of tempString. check your sql statment.
