Anyone else waiting for a Macbook replacement battery?

My battery packed up on the 6th August and I rang Apple Care on the 7th August. They said that they would send out a new battery. After waiting a week I rang them again and the person I spoke to couldn't understand why it hadn't been shipped to me as it was in stock. He said that he would re-submit the replacement battery order for me. A week latter it still hadn't arrived so I rang again and this time I was told that it was out of stock and wouldn't get supplies until latter this week (24th or 25th of August). However, I just looked in the online Apple store and it says that it they available for 24 hour shipping. Is anyone else waiting for a replacement battery in the UK?
iMac G4 15" flat screen : MacBook 1.83 (Tiger)   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

It took me about 2-3 weeks for a replacement to be available from the apple reseller. from where i am the apple distributor is from singapore and apparently there have been a lot of warranty exchanges. initially they said 1 week but it eventually got mine in about 21/2 weeks. well i just got it lets see if it works and lasts!

  • Anyone else waiting on iPad 2?

  • IMac or wait for new MacBook Pro 2013 or 2014?

I have a mid 2007 iMac model, and my PC laptop recently died- I am debating right now as to whether I should buy the iMac 2013 since it was recently updated or just wait for the MacBook Pro update said to be released sometime this month. I'm in need of a new computer for sure and can last for a bit on my iMac (it's staring to get really slow). I personally would want a MacBook Pro so I could bring it to school/classes but also going to partition it play some PC Games (they're not that graphic hungry, just TERA, MMO's).
I was considering to get the 2013 iMac now and wait until next year for the rumored Sharp IGZO MacBook Pro coming out early 2014 sometime during the summer before next school semester starts. That being said, I don't want to risk the 2014 pro not releasing until AFTER the school semester.
My second option (the safer route) is to wait for the new 2013 MacBook Pro to release this month (hopefully) and that would be the end of it.
I just want to get the most out of my money as well as the reassurance that it would be energy efficient, durable to last for the rest of my college years. Thanks!

So how long is your college course?
The latest MacBook Pros have just been released. No need to wait any longer!

  • Anyone else waiting on a replacement Power Supply & Logic Board from Apple?

On Dec. 26, I took my iMac G5 to my local service provider to resolve some power issues under the Repair Extension Program. They ordered the part (new power supply and logic board) from Apple that very day, yet I'm still stuck here waiting 16 days later.
Anyone else out there waiting for this part to arrive? How long should it take? Can I call Apple directly in order to get a better estimate?
    Thanks!
    1.8 GHz iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

All right, so here's the latest plot changes in the ongoing saga of my iMac G5...
I spoke with two very kind and helpful women at Apple this afternoon. Both agreed that this sort of behavior from my AASP was certainly unacceptable. I was able to lodge a formal complaint against my AASP, as well.
My particular part order was given some sort of high priority status by Apple. I was asked to call back on Friday to receive an update on the order's status.
I was also asked to send a letter to Apple's Corporate Customer Care division explaining my situation in full. I'll try to send out this letter within the next few days.
So that's where we stand right now. No computer yet, but at least SOME progress is being made.

  • My battery will not charge unless it is turned off. has anyone else had this problem?, my battery will not charge unless it is turned off. has anyone else had this problem?

my battery on my iphone 4 will not charge unless the phone is turned off. Has anyone else had this problem?

Is this observed as the iPhone is plugged into a Computer or into an AC outlet; or both?  In any case you should try a Reset of the iPhone by depressing the Sleep button and the Home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears then wait for the Reset to bring your iPhone back to the Lock-Screen.

  • Anyone else scheduled for 9/28?

I made a point to order my phone early and I have a 9/28 delivery date...that is all fine and good, but I am leaving on vacation on the 26th and won't be home to receive my phone. I called to see if I could have it delivered to another location but they couldn't even do that as my order sits and waits for processing. I now realize (too late) that I probably had a better chance in going to my local store (45 min away) and getting it quicker.
Just wondering if anyone else received any updates on when we will really receive our phones. The CSR told me that I MAY get it earlier...still no movement though.

I have had no movement on my order since the 14th. I checked earlier and my CC has not been charged. I have a feeling they are waiting for a major shipment and as soon as they get them is when we will start seeing our orders processed. I am just bummed as I knew I was going away and I pre-ordered so that I could get my phone before I left - that didn't do me much good.
Oh well, I guess we sit and wait...
Someone posted a phone number that I called and they were very nice, although they couldn't help me at all. Here it is again if you wanted to try to call:

  • Black or White MacBook replacement battery

IMac G5 Purchased November 2004   Mac OS X (10.3.4)   Now a MacBook too
I need a replacement battery for my 13 inch MacBook. It appears there are none available in the world in white. Is a black one the same they seem available. I could care alout the color.
    Thanks, Steve

    Mike,
Good point it will kill Apple to see us Zebra's. I just am so glad you answered me. I was not going to order a black one with the warning at the Apple Store. "The black battery is not compatable with a white MacBook". I am so happy to be able to have a spare battery when I am in Afghanistan next month.I will only use it for a short period of time but, it would be a disaster if it ran out of power. I will not plug my MacBook in their maybe 170 to 240 volt maybe 50 hertz power. I tried a made for their power electric razor( Do not use the Water near your face). The razor went on hifire and melted down. I can imagine what that power could do to my MacBook.Thank you so much for your help.

  • Anyone still waiting for xgrade? Or: I still haven't received my discs....

    Hi all,
I ordered my XGrade discs on 2/7, and they were shipped on 2/29. I am in Los Angeles. I still haven't received them, and I am getting a little antsy.
THe email describes media mail as '3-7 days' (I am beyond that now) and I don't think it can be tracked....
Is anyone else still waiting for their crossgrade discs to arrive, with a similar ship date as mine ?
    Thanks!
    dan

Media mail IS totally dependent on the originating post office. Some have managers/supervisors who say: If it comes in today, it goes out today. Others could give a rat's behind, and they let it pile up in a big hamper. When it gets too heavy to deal with, they load it on a truck to go to a sorting station.
don't get me started on the postal service. If junk mailers had to pay full freight on all the cr@p they send, OUR rates would still be about 14 cents for first class.
When did we all stop being citizens and start being consumers? We are subsidizing the junk mailers. My favorite revenge is taking one mailers stuff and putting it in another's prepaid envelope and sending it. If we all did that, maybe SOMEONE would wake up to the whole stupidity of junk mail.
    OK-- off soapbox now.

  • For starting macbook without battery, is there any option in OS??

    Hi
Unfortunately i m not able to start my macbook without battery.
My question is that is there any option in operating system which i suppose to on for this or it doesn't required any OS interaction!!??
    Regards

Your MacBook will reduce the processor speed while it is operated with the battery out of it. See Mac Support article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2332 and http://www.gearlog.com/2008/11/applenotebooks_take_hugeperf.php

  • Source for High Quality Replacement Battery

Looking for a high quality high capacity replacement battery for my 30GB iPod Photo. Looking for a good price, but constant voltage is more important. They're pretty cheap on Ebay, but I am leery of quality.

With no responses, I found one for less than $10.00 shipped on Ebay from a PowerSeller with outstanding feedback. It has Japanese manufactured cells, has 1300mAh capacity, overcharge/overheat/short circuit protection, is CE and ISO approved, and includes the tools I need. I like the specs, but I realize I'm taking a $10.00 gamble.

  • Is it worth Waiting for New MacBook Pro 2012..

I just got a new Macbook Pro , is it worth waiting till next 2012 when the new one comes out ?
Any idea what the new would look like in terms for configuration and design..

    Thanks Shootist007,
I can customise my phone, tablet and mediaplayer as I like (thanks to the guys from XDA), it syncs and streams between my tablet and media player. I can integrate and transfer files, messages, contacts, etc between my phone, wifi media player and tablet without being stuck to an itunes interface.  No funny apple conversion/compression tools required for viewing files across platforms, etc. It comes with most programs i use by default, hence no need to get much special or full version apps from the google market place.  Dont get me wroing, Im not shooting down Apple, I just look forward to the day, they offer such functionality by default.
I dont mind not having usb 3, so thats ok, quite like thunderbolt.  Its the retina display, and HD type that Im more concerned about.  And rumours of them doing away with a dvd drive, I still wud like to have one, even in this day and age of wireless/cloud everything.  Im sure by June, I would defintely have enought saved away for a 15"/17" model.
Yip, my iTunes library is a mess, only because I started it all wrong, having music folders all over the place, hence I need my own laptop to consolidate and start a fresh itunes library on a fresh laptop.  Also since its a work laptop, I often have to delete stuff for space reasons.
Yes, as an IT Auditor I understand the concept of buying tech today, and by tommorrow its old :-)
Thanks for the feedback, I do appreciate it very much, and Im really keen to make the crossover to Apple (as 90% of my friends all have Apple macs or macbooks), then hopefiully I will crossover to the iphone, tablet, etc.

  • Waiting for my MacBook Pro

    I ordered a 17" MBP on March 10th.
It is still in transit. Started out in China,
but now I checked FedEx website. It says,
"Shipment Exception ...NARITA-SHI JP Delay beyond our control"
    Anyone know what this means?
It's supposed to arrive March 25, but I don't know anymore.
I paid for two day shipping.
And another thing: why in the world are Macs built in China?
I thought they came from Cupertino,CA.

So a plane crashing, catching on fire, people dying is called "Delay beyond our control" ?????
Well, on the subject - I originally ordered a stock 17" on march 5th. I woke up on March 10th and decided I wanted the Ant-Glare screen, a 2.93ghz processor upgrade, and the 7200rpm drive - so I canceled my order and re-placed the order March 10th at 5am. It arrived yesterday. ( interesting that we have the same order date ). Wonder how many hundreds of laptops are "delayed beyond control" - I would imagine they ship them by the pallet load.
