Anyone ever use 'Rember' to track down Bad RAM?

I'm using Tiger 10.4.11
I just tried the Free-Ware program called Rember;

Rather than go through the hassle of using the Apple Restore Disc and Rebooting and all that Jazz, thought I'd try it. I'm not sure it actually does the job? I realize trying to find Bad Ram, requires the work of Shelock Holmes, but does anyone know of a software program that can do it?
The Rember Scan Test Failed twice, but I doubt I actually have Bad RAM. I have no symptoms. Although at the time, I thought I did. The culprit was a bad Video Card. Everything runs smooth now.

I also downloaded the Free Ware program called Temperature Monitor. It sensed a rating of 50C (fluctuating), for the Memory Controller Heatsink. I didn't quite understand that. But the Memory Controller Heat Sink had the highest temperature.
Any ideas?

You get an error, but dismiss and don't believe it.
You don't want to bother running AHT (which does have its use).
Rember isn't as good as Memtest.
Memtest you can run to test 200MB chunks for 4-8 cycles and run in as many windows as needed to test all the RAM except the core OS.
Memtest can also be run in single user mode to test slightly more (smaller kernel footprint).

Hi! I bought a skin and the screen armor for my iPod from DecalGirl. The screen armor has no scratches so far so I don't know if it's doing it's job or not but I MUST say that IT IS NOT CLEAR. There are various tiny bubbles that I can't out and once you take it off you have to put in a new one, they're not reusable AT ALL in my experience. It looks speckled and it's not clear like it should be so I don't recommend the screen armor from Decalgirl but the skins are okay. I bought an invisibile shield but don't plan on using it after finding out that I had to use soapy water to apply it, and plus it apparently leaves a sticky residue behind. I hope this helps! I may end up using the invisible shield but only after I get over the fact that there's water involved. xD

You may only want an Australia Host but I like

Has anyone ever used web start in large scale ?

have you ever used some web start application in large scale ?
i.e., have you distributed some real application with web-start?
I�m doing such experience here and I�m a bit afraid about several problems in the final user machine - such as java version, browser incompatibility and mainly with the ugly WebStart cache problems.

can you give a bit more detail on what exactly you're afraid of? is this a www application? internal business app? etc.
for example you can force your java version in java web-start,etc...

It does all seem a bit shady, but what the hell, it's only £2.50 a month! What can I lose?
I'm gonna try it and then report back. Payment is via PayPal anyway, so even if they are dodgy it's okay and secure.
The only reason I was worrying was because they offer SO much just for £2.50 a month. Seems to good to be true...but if it is true, then that's great!!

Anyone ever use a Canon XH A1 with FCP 5.1.4? I cannot capture at present.

I tried to start a new project with different setting for SD, and all the settings I originally had for my HD project changed, now I cannot capture anymore. It took me a while to configure all the settings for HD with the 2:3:3:3 pulldown, but now I'm just plain confused. Anyone know a solution?

I shot in HD in the 24F mode on a Canon XH A1. I've been capturing fine, but now the camera is not recognized ever since I created a new project with different settings.I created those project settings thinking they would only apply to that project (an SD one), and now I cannot figure out the steps to get back to where I was. This is what I wrote down to for my "In System Settings" that worked:
Video Quality: Dynamic
Frame Rate: Full
Pulldown Pattern: 2:3:3:2
Frame Offset: 4
Record (Full Quality).
Easy Setup - HDV-1080i60
Then I set my compressor for HDV 1080p24.
Now this simply doesn't work and I cannot capture.
Is there a way to revert back to my old settings before I created a different project?
Very confused why I cannot recognize my camera.

Has anyone ever used their iPad to remotely connect to a iMac and use programs like Photoshop on their iPad?

I had an iMac at home, but I've recently taken on some freelance work and they would like me to come into the office every now and then. I don't want to purchase a laptop and I know you can remotely connect to your desktop with an iPad, but I need to know if anyone has ever done that and successfully used programs like Photoshop on their iPad. Is there lag time when trying to use the software? Or is it just not possible and I should consider getting a laptop again?

iPads are not exact laptop replacements. If you need to be using Photoshop, then buy a normal laptop computer.
Using a remote access app on an IPad or any tablet conputer to remote access your computer to operate will be quite a lot slower and clumsier than just having a laptop with a normal OS and Photoshop application installed.

Anyone ever use the ExtendAir Omni?

I am trying to get more range out of my old 802.11g AirPort base station (the white kind that looks like a flying saucer). It does have an external antenna port and am wondering if that could make a difference. This seems to be the only kind out there:

Radeon X1900 Users, Anyone ever used this?

After problems with the X1900, HD 3870 and the 8800GT I am finally back to the x1900 and was looking around online for some way to cool it down. I am currently using a program called Smcfancontrol 2 to cool down my box which seems like its doing a great job.

You have an ATI Radeon X1900 XT graphics card on board ?
If so it needs a deep cleaning routine !
Open case and look to the back of the card , you will see a recess about 10mm deep below the plastic top cover and the printed circuit board. At the back of this recess are a row of copper coloured fins/heat sinks.
If what you actually see is something resembling a grey fur blanket thats a build up of dust !
Temporarily remove the graphics card and carefully remove this clogging matter regularly !
THIS CARDS WORKS WELL Provided its clean (Frequency may very depending where you keep your tower !
I have 1 MacPro in TV Room and has to remain on the carpet -This needs cleaning every month, while another machine (Server) is in home office off floor and NO carpet yet is ON ALL the time and needed cleaning just once in six months!)
It is my experience putting a bigger fan on these cards just exasperates the problem> ***** MORE DUST INTO THIS RECESS MORE QUICKLY !
Its this recess thats the cards design weakness AND its ATIs fault!

Anyone ever use Iphone headset on a Macbook?

My mother & I got a Macbook at the exact same time, and she's having a few issues with hers, one of them being that she made the mistake of assuming her Iphone earbuds were compatible with her Macbook, and plugged them in to listen. Now (even without the speakers in) she has NO sound on her Macbook at ALL. This worries me, because until she said that, I would've assumed you could use your Iphone earbuds on your laptop with no problems. She took it to a one-to-one class, and they said they'd have to call a tech in to look at it, and that they wouldn't think there would be a problem with compatibility. Has anyone else had this problem?

If you have a laptop with no sound, check your output jack on the side. Is there a red light on inside? If so, the analog/digital switch is stuck and the laptop won’t have any sound. Take a wood toothpick and insert it gently in the output sound jack and press gently downwards until the red light (LED) is off. You should have sound again. If you can’t get the light to go out, you will have to have it serviced. Contact Apple.

Anyone ever use Slick vol.10?

I just purchased volume 10 for the sole reason of multi-cam editing. Installation was successful and I was able to synch sources. I was able to go into the Configure area and set when I want the yellow video to play, the red video, the blue one etc.
My problem is, I don't know how to get this edit information BACK into iMovie. When I hit the play button (back in iMovie) it just plays the original video clip, not the one with the camera changes. The only option I see within Slick is "Configure", which takes me to 4 button choices: Synch Sources, Clear All, Cancel, and OK. The solution is probably really simple but I've not been able to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I am not hearing any audio within the multicam editor.
The sign language sample of Slick 4 (as opposed to Slick Ten) doesn't help much in this respect. And I don't personally use any Slick special effects but I have in the past. They do make good products generally.
Too bad they don't yet have a tutorial for Slick Ten. I'd suggest calling /staying in touch with them on this.

I wonder if they have a discussion group / user forum for additional support from actual users? (If not then maybe they can construct a site as they also work on a Slick Ten tutorial/s).
I did notice that the sample they used of a sign language translator isn't the best since it doesn't have any audio associated with it. But on the other hand they do show an audio button below on the the preview window. Seems contradictory.... doesn't it?
This is certainly one question I'd ask directly from their support site / above link.

Clinton. I just bought and tried this on a recommendation a few days ago. It seem's simple enough to use. You simply wipe it on, let it cure, then buff off your screen with the included micro-fiber cloth. I can tell there is something there but I can't say 100% that it is actually providing "additional" protection. It does not change the appearance of the screen or add any "tackiness" to the screen. The screen looks as good with it on, as with it off. Exactly what I want as I do not want to use a screen cover on my iPhone 5 and iPad. I figure for the $19.95 I paid at CompUSA, it can't hurt. And there is enough to treat multiple devices more than once.
