Anyone ever written a script (Groovy?) to do a Coherence cluster rolling restart?

I read the instructions for doing a Coherence cluster rolling restart. This seems like something that would be straightforward to do in a script, perhaps Groovy. It would have to poll the "StatusHA" attribute on the mbean, but that seems reasonable. This seems so obvious that I'd be surprised if someone hasn't written, and perhaps published, a script to do this. Is anyone aware of anything like this?

I wouldn't recommend using a modified version of the provided gar_common.py. As you can see in the source comments, garRedeploy() is meant to receive a Weblogic cluster, not a Coherence cluster. I've tried the modified version which receives a Coherence cluster, and I've ended up with extra deployments in servers outside the Coherence cluster, specifically the Admin Server.
If your Coherence cluster contains several Weblogic clusters, just call garRedeploy() for each Weblogic cluster.

Has anyone ever written a Data Translator Extension?

Hi,
I'm reading the Adobe document on how to write Dreamweaver Extensions. I was wondering if any of you guru's out there have ever written a data translator extension? If so, then explain why you chose to do so. How common is it to create this type of extension? Do you really need to translate (and lock) conditional JavaScript statements and / or PHP code? What are the implications if you choose not to write a data translator extenstion? It seems to me that this may be optional.

I can verify that there is no existing way create a "prioritized lock" in TestStand without implementing a custom solution. Though I haven't seen this kind of lock implemented in the past, I think that your method sounds like a good way of implementing this behavior.
This definitely sounds like a useful feature, so I will submit a product suggestion to our R&D department. Hopefully we will see this option in a future version of TestStand!

Anyone ever written a proxy server?

Hi all
So in the last week I've been writing a proxy server, and I've got it basically working now. The main problem I have at this time is with maining open connections. Just to tell everyone what they already know, normally, an http connection is transactional: You open the connection, the server responds, then you close the connection. With the proxy server however, the connection often remains open.
The question I have is how do I get my proxy server to communicate the fact that the transaction is over without closing the socket? What I see in my browser is a whole lot of "downloading data from x.y.com..." after it's finished downloading. Can anyone advise?

I wrote this proxy as a means of getting logs with timestamps
with access to nothing more fancy than Java.
Not for HTTP originally but a web browser turned out to be a useful test tool.

(3rd party app was not logging timestamps for both incoming and outgoing events - even if it was I would not trust it).

Most folks use an OPC Server, such as Lookout Protocol Drivers (sold under package "IA OPC Servers") to communicate with devices using the Modbus protocol from LabVIEW. The KnowledgeBase below describes this method in detail.

As for direct Modbus protocol VIs for LabVIEW - I have never personally used them, but I have seen many Developer Exchange posts in the past where folks have used and recommended them. Simply search this developer exchange for "modbus AND labview" and numberous discussion threads on this topic will be returned.

Sony DCR-TRV350 - Anyone EVER get this camera to be recognized in FCP?

Theere is the question - has anyone EVER gotten this camera to be recognized by any FCP product.
I have a ton of old HI8 tapes and I really want to import them directly.

Your step-by-step said to turn on camera first, which I did.
FCP will not start with the camera on - in fact, the rainbow circle was spinning and I was even interupted while typing this post - the computer stopped responding to my typing and all I had was a moveable spinning rainbow.
Get this... I turn off the camera and Whalla!
FCP loads up and I have access to my system again.
NOTE: FCP went through all the "loading" and...
SECOND PART -
okay that was weird - I closed FCP, turned on camera and tried again... this time FCP loaded right up.
I followed your steps...
Closed the canvas, timeline, and preview
APPLE-8
set to "non-controlable device"
pressed play - no video in window
bottom of window reads "no communication"
NOTE: I have confirmed that the link between camera and computer is good
I must admit, I am skeptical that we can get this to work, but I am also allowing myself to get a little excited that you may be able to help?

Quit iTunes, restart your computer, restart your iPad and try again. If it doesn't work with a restart of the iPad, try a reset of the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Has anyone ever had a problem with their screen going all "choppy" for lack of a better word. It happens when I go from one window to the next and they sort of mesh together.

In addition to doing this today my mouse went all crazy and it was like I had no control over it. Once I restarted my computer it was fine. I took it into the genius bar a few weeks ago, but they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I'm getting tired of people who supposedly know what

Thanks for the suggestion... but I think my first question would be why these parameters would need re-setting? This is a new machine... It has never been shut down hard. It is used at most 10 hours per week... mostly using Office 2004 for MAC. I need to figure this out as I will soon need it as a Cs2/CS3 - Aperture workhorse.
I too agree that it is best not to use a sledge when a scalpel is needed... but as a novice to the MAC world I may have been misled by Apple support. I seems to have fixed the symptoms ( some) but appears NOT to have addressed the cause... which is what I am after.

We just launched a vaccation tracking app with a coldfusion
front end and an access 97 backend (dont ask). The app was tested
for over a month and passed all tests. However we never tested for
volume, or amount of users hitting the app. On the backend, we have
an access table linked to a text file. Again, this tested out
perfectly over the past month. This morning after release to the
entire company of about 2,000 people, users began reporting this
error:
The text file specification 'EmployeeList Link
Specification6' does not exist. You cannot import, export, or link
using the specification.
Some users logged in to the app successfully and some
recieved this error. For those that recieved the error, we had them
back out and re-login and then the app worked just fine.

The right way would be to use a "real" database server.
But you can test if db-caching can improve the issue.
With each <cfquery> you can set a cachedwithin
parameter. Using that should allow you to query the Access db once,
and then have CF keep the query results in memory (for the DB as
well as the text-file).
You could query the complete database with no filtering this
way, and then filter the data using QueryofQuery to output only
records for specific users/groups/regions.
You also need to make sure the settings in CF admin are
configured right for this.
The more often the database content is updated, the slower
this solution will get though.

ps. for the cachedwithin parameter in the query set a
timeframe of forever, so the recordset never gets updated, and then
actually execute a new query to update the recordset at the end of
your "save a vacation" or "updated a vacation" functions. This way
the app would only read the db when a real change to the records
occurred.
But like I said with 2000 users, even that may not be enough
to get the app performing.

Running an IMac Intel Core 2 Duo 2.33 GHz, Microsoft Entourage 2004 for Mac v 11.3.6.
Opened Entourage and selected some of the tons of spam > hit Delete and there you have it! Wasn't really sure how to answer this one! It was like a Bill Gates trick question for Mac users. I had to have someone else come in the office to make sure I wasn't having a stroke or something.
I did eventually select the highlighted button after a coin flip, but to no avail. Nothing happened. Selected the other button then thinking that MUST be the right answer! Nothing...
Finally, an end task was the right answer. Seems to have gone away for now, but Entourage still crashes quite often. Rebuilt email, repaired permissions, etc. Nothing appears to be wrong, but clearly something was amiss.
Any ideas?

-In the vast majority of cases (think 99.9%) there is a bug in the C/C++ code that does JNI. As usual a pointer is the problem.

Has anyone ever emulated Mac OS X and used Logic on their x86 Microsoft Windows systems? I was thinking about doing this to use some synths and stuff with some Windows designed software. I'm not sure if it is possible to use both operating systems at the same time with VMWare Workstation operating system emulator. Help me out guys. Has anyone ever done it? Can it be done?

Anyone ever deal with "@import" in css?

I have been given the task of recreating a series of web pages; using a product page which originates from Japan. I was able to secure the *.css codes from the source but no matter what I do I cannot get the elements on MY page to render the same as the original page.
I did notice one thing that confounds me. Within the "library" of .css attachments there is one called "import.css" which contains no css code as I understand it but a series of "sub" css names: (the top phrases; inside the /*.......*/ were translated from Japanese...the @phrases were as received)

I put no FB files in there unless they were hold overs from the original Japanese page and I didn't notice them.
What I did Nancy was to discard the "import.css" and link what was in there directly, then upload the page and the peripheral css files to the server. I did notice that when the "base.css" is removed the page shifts a bit so I'm thinking that MAY have something to do with it; probably not. Even though I have been translating all the Japanese into English in the hopes of finding a clue I can't get it out of my head that perhaps Japanese code and English code may not mix but code is code, right? At any rate thanks for checking in on me. Always happy to hear from you.
