Anyone had refund problems?

Anyone else had a problem with getting refunds? I had 2 defect jetpacks and returned them but got charged. They traced them...they have one and the other one has been repaired and sent to another customer.....but still it is charged to my account saying I didn't return it....2 weeks now I have been fighting over this and can't get it removed........awesome job verizon....oh don't forget the rudeness on the phone

If you paid by credit card you simply call the card company and dispute the charges. They will reverse the charges pending their investigation.
If you paid by bank debit card you call your bank fill out a form and the bank will give your money back pending their investigation.
If you paid via cash or check, you have no recourse but to wait for Verizon to either send you your money, or credit your account. the companies like to hold onto your funds as long as they can.
Never do arbitration under any circumstances. I recommend after a reasonable time to go to your local city court or town court and file a small claims case against Verizon wireless. There is a fee for the court filing $5-$20 but you can add that into your case, as well as reasonable charges for lost wages to go to court, transportation cost etc. read the manual from the court pay the fee and you will get Verizons attention.
But give the other methods a chance first. Good Luck

Has anyone had a problem with MacAce?   I normally pay them £8.39 per month for iWeb hosting - but last week my bank account got dented by £8.39 (twice) and then a further £58.80 from nowhere- that's over £65 in unauthorised debits from my bank account.   No explanation - nothing.
I sent them 2 E-mails - and no response.   I phoned them - and got through to a voice machine ... and still no response.

HT5654 after update to the latest version on my ipad, it no longer connects to the internet nor can i send emails. when plugged in to sync with itunes, it remains 'stuck' at syncing step 2 of 7 backing up. has anyone had similar problems? any solutions

I had this problem. I held down the power switch to power down completely. Takes a few seconds. Then use the power switch to turn on. Might take a couple goes.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When you try to copy data to the external drive, what happens? If you don't see any error, the external drive is formatted in NTFS, and OS X can't write in it.
To be able to write on this external drive, you have to use an app like Paragon NTFS. Another solution would be to format the external drive in FAT32 or exFAT with Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html Make sure you copied all the files of the external disk to the internal disk before doing it

When I try download new os 5.1.0 on my iPhone 4 I get this error message "stopped (err = -3259)" after it has downloaded. Has anyone had this problem and if so what is the fix.

When I try to download iPhone OS 5.1.0 on my PC I get this message "stopped (err = -3259)"and says it timed out at the server after the entire download. I have tried 3 times, it takes about 8 min. to download the 790.7 MB file. Has anyone had this problem and what is the fix?

Hi Guys
Updated my 2 imacs to Maverick yesterday. Schoolboy error on my part not checking if there were problems with any programmes before I did.
Quark is now a nightmare with no short term answer on the way. As a Quark user for over 20 years this is just another reason to hold your hands up and say OK Indesign you win I will have to learn how to use you and Quark will be a distant memory.
I am told there will probably be no solution to getting quak 9 running on Maverick and that you will need to update to 10 in about 2-3 weeks to get back to normal. Having spent a few bob on 2 versions of 9.5 only in Feb this year i didn't really want to upgrade yet.
So its cough up to carry on using Quark or learn Indesign.
I have lost faith in Quark as they are quick to send me e-mails asking me to upgrade to this and that version, why didn't they send one out saying do not upgrade to Maverick. Perhaps they know there loyal follwing will uograde to 10 and will generate a nice little bonus before Xmas.
Lots to do today and will now take 10 times longer to do it. Is this 2013 or 1974!!!!!

Error: Couldn't unmount disk -- when trying to verify/repair external hard drives. Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

I have a number of hard drives that my Mac Book Pro no longer 'recognises' at least for very long. When I turn them on the deskstop icon shows up but then shortly afterwards I get a message saying that it has been unplugged incorrectly. I haven't unplugged it any of them. When I try to run very/repair disk before they disappear I get the error in the subject line above. Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you rectify it?

The drive is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced, or you have some other hardware fault.
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
Keeping your confidential data secure during hardware repair
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

Has anyone had a problem installing PSE Elements 8.

I have installed PSE Elements 8 from a new boxed CD onto a new Dell running Windows 7 Professional (64 Bit).
PSE has loaded without any warnings and I get to the welcome screen OK. Organiser works fine but if I try and start Edit it just circles around back to the Edit prompt. I have tried getting in via Fix in Organiser which then advises Loading Elements workspace but then drops me back to menu.
I have tried all the Tech Note suggestions but after hours of trying am still no further forward.
I even downloaded and installed the trial version but I this performs in the same way.
All suggestions welcome. Thanks

The only other suggestion is try re-setting the Editor preferences as this often fixes conflicts. You will also be able to check that this part of the application installed correctly.
Hold down the windows key to the left of Alt and press the letter E to launch Explorer
In the left side pane click on Computer
In the right pane double click on Program Files, then double click Adobe, then double click Photoshop Elements 8.0
Use the right hand scroll bar to move down the list of files and locate Photoshop Elements Editor With one hand holding down all three keys CtrlShiftAlt right click on the Editor file in the list and select open.
You should see a pop up box with the words Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
Click on Yes
Close down Elements and re-open it in the normal way.
Please let us know if that works.

Also when printing an e-mail the bottom of the page where it lists your email name is cut off. Please help!!

Has anyone had a problem with the letters actually disappearing from the keybord, like being gradually rubbed out? My macbook air had this problem one year after purchase. They fixed it for free. Now, a year later, I have the same prob. Apple doesnt want to know.

Is the check something like a payroll check where its digitally printed and all in text?, or is it a handwritten check?
from my experience handwritten checks rarely work, myself and friends have always recieved an error stating the picture was to blurry no matter how many times we took a picture. From what i have read with others who have issues with depositing handwritten checks, some checks are deemed to blurry based on the handwriting, therefore the app wont accept the check, while other handwritten check will be accepted just fine, i hope this resolves your issue's and concerns

You are probably correct. I tried all different variations to test it. As long as I quit each document separately, i.e., red dot it, I seem to bring up only one document after that whether I click on the document itself or open it within pages. The same is true with numbers.
Two more questions:
1) can you turn off the "resume" feature? If so, how? I could not find a way to do it.
2) why the "save a version" feature in pages? What happened to the old "save" and "save as" features?
Thanks so much, you saved me a lot of frustration but I am still going to install MS Office for Mac.
