Anyone have GetClientInfo working to get web client IP address?

My middle tier is 9iAS 1.0.2.2.2 on SOLARIS 8 SPARC, client tier is MSIE 6/Windows PC using JInitiator 1.3.1.9. I believe my 9iAS configuration is working fine; the GetClientIno.jar.sig gets downloaded to my JAR cache. But the sample form getclientinfo.fmb hangs as soon as the Applet window opens. No error messages anywhere. Anyone having it working on a similar platform configuration?

Hi Peter,
Thanks for your very useful advice .... We have eventually got some progress on this front. The problem was (I think?) down to Oracle JInitialtor not being able to handle JAR files coming down to the Client with multiple certificates (as detailed in Oracle's Jar Signing document) .... i.e. getClientinfo was being signed with my newly created certificate whilst f90all.jar had the oracle default certificate(?)...
As for the work-around options ... I went for the option of uppacking the f90all.jar, then deleting the META-INF directory and then repackaging the jar and then getting it signed using the jarsigner tool (all on the Application Server ... NOT the Client)
Before this I created a keystore using the keystore tool... I'm kinda new to this Java stuff... but I agree that this has been a very painful experience (and the pain is still ongoing 'cos we have some oddities in the
way the Java Bean seems to be working....)
I also agree that I think that this could be better doucmented by Oracle .... although Thanks to Duncan for spoting/and enlightening us that it was indeed an JAR signing related problem and explaining why certain functionality still works with Java Beans despit them being not properly signed....
Any ideas when Oracle plan to ship a version of forms/JInitiator capable of handling multiple certificates?
Cheers,
Bharat
P.S. One to watch .... you only need to unpack/pack/sign the f90all.jar NOT the f90all_jinit.jar which is a specially compressed JAR file .... If you upack/pack/sign this then things WILL NOT work!! ... As I found out through bitter experience again! ... It is documented in the JAR signing document ... right at the back in the Common Questions section .... maybe better having a little note in the part that tells you about the need to unpack/pack/sign associated JAR files like f90all.jar?
P.P.S
On page 13 on the JAR signing manual the command reads
c:\jdk131\bin\jar -cf f90all_resign.jar *.*
I think this only works on NT whereas on UNIX it should be
c:\jdk131\bin\jar -cf f90all_resign.jar .
(DON'T forget the '.' it is important)

    You don't need iDVD unless you are going to make DVDs. If you are just trying to share files, iDVD won't help you at all.
    What you want to do is in iMovie, choose File/Share/File, and export that way. It creates an .mp4 file that should be readable on Macs or Windows.
    You could also File/Share/YouTube if you don't mind posting them to YouTube, because of course YouTube videos are watchable by any Mac or Windows computer made in the last 10 years.

    Its not telling you to update your iPad, its telling you you need to download a recent version itunes on your computer.

  • SCOM 2012 SNMP Trap - Does anyone have it working?

    I am wondering if anyone out there has had any luck with getting SNMP Traps to be captured by SCOM 2012?  Probes work fine.
    We have been unable to get SCOM 2012 to receive a SNMP Trap from network devices.  We currently have a case open with Microsoft, but they dont have any answers as of yet.
    Here are the cliff notes version of what we have done so far.
    Discovery - OK
    The nodes discover without issue.  I made sure they were set to SNMP only.  I did this to verify we were talking SNMP and not just ICMP.
    Open Ports/Firewall Issues
    No firewalls are in place on the SCOM server and none exist between devices we are trying to get traps from.  Using a port tool, I can see that UDP 162 is listening as expected and its the System Center Management Host Process that is running the
    process.  We have tried having SNMP installed, but disabled, installed and running, and uninstalled.  Currently we have the SNMP service installed and running.  The SNMP Trap Service is NOT installed.
    Data Validation
    Using Wireshark running on the SCOM box I have been able to validate the OIDs we are searching for are hitting the SCOM server.  I installed an SNMP Trap generator and Receiver on my local machine as well as Jalasoft SNMP Simulator.  I was able
    to discover my local machine as a network device and if I send a TRAP from the TRAP generator on my local machine to the receiver on my local machine I can validate the data is coming through ok.
    What has been done on SCOM side
    The simplest place to look for data is with an Event Collection Rule and then an Event View Monitor.  We have set up an Event Based Monitor to search for an OID that I know to be accurate and then I set up an Event monitor to look for
    anything hitting that Collection Rule.  The Event monitor showed nothing so we changed the EVent Monitor to look for anything that hit Node which should show any SNMP traps that have hit from network devices.  No results.
    We tried to run WFAnalyzer from the 2007R2 Authoring Console, but it wont run against 2012 and from what I have found the 2012 edition doesnt exist anywhere yet.
    So has anyone succesfully received a SNMP TRAP into SCOM 2012?

  • Epson 2200 on MacBook Pro - Anyone have that working?

    I'd like to run an Epson r2200 printer (I know it's old) with a MacBook Pro. Epson says the driver does not support Intel-based Macs, and they have no plans to update the driver. I've tried the GIMP driver, and it does not work. Does anyone have one working with an MBP (or any other Intel-based machine), and if so, how did you do it?
    MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    What is an R2200? I'm familiar with the Stylus Photo 2200. The 2200 has intel drivers on the epson site:

  • How can I get the client IP address correctly?

    Hi,
    I am having a problem with getting the client ip address correctly using jsp. I am currently using the method request.getRemoteAddr() (JSP)to get the remote client IP. This method works fine with intranet addresses.
    However, when I am using a dial-up connection through a ISP (internet service provider), it could not detect the actual IP that is assigned to my client PC, but instead got another IP address.
    Could anyone advise me on that? And could anyone advise me on how to obtain the correct client ip address correctly using any of the java technologies?
    Thanks,
    Damien

    >
    I don't believe so. You can't establish aconnection
    over the internet using a private IP. As far as I
    know most, if not all routers, block them so itwon't
    even move over the backbone.Well with port-mapping it is definately possible to
    allow an external ip to "connect" to an internal ip, i
    have done this very thing myself...Not the same.
    You are addressing the external server with a public IP address. That is then translated into the internal connection.
    That is not the same as using a private IP on the internet.
    As I said, the backbone will not let a private IP through.
    >
    >
    Yes, but my point is that at any given time, in the
    world, many boxes might have one address. Even ifit
    is a private IP is it still that IP for aparticular
    box. So if you use java to get its IP that is theIP
    that it gets. And that IP is useless for anything
    unless that IP is meaningful for the othercomputer.
    But all ips must be unique in a designated "internet"
    be it an "intranet" or whatever, there cannot be a
    situation where two identical ips in the same
    "internet", such that an ip that is achieved from a
    page-hit is valid and meangingful in order to send the
    data it is requesting back to it, or find out more
    about that computer, or log and report it if it is
    doing something illegal; i don't think its that
    meangingless is it?Yes it is. You can't use an IP to uniquely identify a box, and that is the sole criteria, when there might be two boxes with the same IP.
    When you use java on a client box to get the IP of the box, it doesn't necessarily return an IP that it meaningful to the anyone outside the lan on which the box lives.
    Because of this internet systems must do one of the following:
    -Do not use the IP as an identifier.
    -Require that the client has a public IP. This is often static. At least some security systems use this to validate users.

  • Get the client IP address

    Hello everybody, I'm a student new with java, I'm developing a little server application - running standalone, and I'm trying to get the client Ip address, have a look on my code snippet:
    InetAddress fromcli;
    while(true){
    welcomeSKT.accept()
    fromcli = welcomeSKT.getInetAddress();
    System.out.println("The client Ip Address is: " + fromcli.getHostAddress() + '\n');
    The sysout println returns the 0.0.0.0 that is the server address, mapped to more than one interface eg:(loopback and eth0) - But if with the getInetAddress() method I get the server address where is the difference with the getLocalHost()? - By the way, anyone has a suggestion to print out the client remote address.
    Thank you in advance....

    Oh, sorry of course welcomeSKT is a ServerSocket, actually the snippet that I put is a part of the code, here below I put the complete program, in order to clarify my question, however I would like to know if it's possible to understand from the server side the client IP address, and if yes how...
    Thank you in advance...
    * THIS simple TCP server receives some numbers in input by the client and give back the sum - actually the exceptions are managed in a uncomplete way....but this is my first java program...be patient with me...

  • Property default value in presentation doesn't work in vSphere Web Client.

    Hi,
    Some of my default values don't work in the vSphere Web client.
    Here is an example :
    The user need to choose a date, this input parametter is called "FormDateRealisation".
    In the next step, I have a user interraction with external input called "AppDateRealisation", that is an attribute. In the presentation, this parameter as a Default value property set to "#FormDateRealisation".
    It work perfectly in the Java client, but when I try the workflow in vSphere web client, the default value doesn't not work.
    Does anyone have an idea how to solve this ? I already found a solution to bypass this bug (Creating a script to transfert the input to the attribute)... But I would like to use the default value.

    Hi,
    I opened a ticket, they didn,t found the solution. But we found those logs:
    Execution of action com.DemandeServeur/EspaceDisqueMultiple10 returned a javacsript 'undefined' value. Perhaps a return statement is missing in this action ? Will be converted to null.
    Here is my code of "EspaceDisqueMultiple10":

    Input: InGBHD (number)
    if (InGBHD%10 != 0)
      return "L'espace disque doit être un multiple de 10";

    i lost all my contacts upon upgrading to ios7. Does anyone know how I can get them back. my phone was not backed up beforehand.

    You can solve this problem by this method.
    You may need a third party easy iPhone recovery tool to recover your contacts.
    http://easy-iphone-recovery.blogspot.com/iphone-recovery-resource.html
    This tool can help you to recover the lost contacts directly from your iPhone. Please have a try.
    If it works, try to pay for it to get the full recovery feature.

  • HT2052 Does anyone have a solution to getting my iPod touch 1st generation to show up in iTunes without having to pay a big service fee for tech support?

    I have an iPod touch 1st generation.  Up until the last update it was recognized in iTunes and now it will not come up in iTunes at all.  Don't feel like I should have to pay $100 every times iTunes updates and there is a problem with it recognizing my iPod.  Anyone have any suggestions?  I have uninstalled iTunes half a dozen times and done everything they recommended including replacing my USB cable, nothing works.

    It is an iTunes problem
    See
    iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    - I would start with
    Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
    Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
    However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Featurs appin the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
    - New cable and different USB port
    - Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

  • RocketRaid 3520 - anyone have it working?

    Hi - I have a late 2005 PMG5 running os x server 10.5.8
    Put a Highpoint RocketRaid 3520 in it, all ethernet ports stop working (to clarify, they say "cable disconnected" even with an cable plugged into them). Card works OK otherwise (not without some fiddling, but that's another story...).
    Pull the card back out, ethernet works again. Uninstall the drivers but leave the card in, same problem - seems to be a hardware conflict.
    Read in the change log for the driver file - "RR3520 has problem with G5 enternet [sic]" - kick myself, although this does not seem to be mentioned ANYWHERE else online...
    The question is - does anyone have this config working? They advertise this card as working with the G5.
    thanx for any input.

    Got mine to work in couple of minutes using:

    and to install mcrypt:

    Does anyone have recent (2013) experience of getting a macbook air hinge repaired FOC ?

    I just tried to get my original MBA hinge repaired, but the Genius guy in Amsterdam said they stopped the replacement 1 1/2 years ago :-(
    Would have been appreciated if Apple could update the original note to indicate the extended warranty on the hinge is no longer in effect.

  • Does anyone have bluetooth working? [solved]

    I can't believe this. For months I can't even use a bluetooth mouse!
    Once working fine, then there appeared to be a bluez issue, so I got the latest release 4.40
    got my /var/lib/bluetooth/MAC/trusts file and finally had my mouse back until...
    after a few minutes it lost the connection and refuses to reconnect.
    Now kbluetooth won't start, that is, it doesn't appear and says it's already running!
    I've tried blueman but that wants to pair the mouse with a passkey.
    So if anyone has a working kbluetooth please post the configuration here.
    Many thanks!

    I had the same problem, my bluetooth mouse stop working when I upgraded to bluez 4.x
        $hidd --connect xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx --server
    is deprecated and documentation about bluez ActivateService is not working with bluez4.x:
        $dbus-send --system --print-reply --dest=org.bluez /org/bluez org.bluez.Manager.DefaultAdapter
        Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod: Method "DefaultAdapter" with signature "" on interface "org.bluez.Manager" doesn't exist
    Google suggest me to install d-feet and look into dbus to correct the python scripts and finally I got my bt mouse back again.
    bt_mouse_create.py:
        import dbus
        bus = dbus.SystemBus()
        manager = dbus.Interface(bus.get_object('org.bluez', '/'), 'org.bluez.Manager')
        adapterpath = manager.DefaultAdapter()
        adapter = dbus.Interface(bus.get_object('org.bluez', adapterpath), 'org.bluez.Adapter')
        devicepath = adapter.CreateDevice('xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx')
        print devicepath
    Replace xx with your mouse's mac
    Run once and take note about the output string.
    Replace it in the next script.
    bt_mouse_connect.py:
        import dbus
        bus = dbus.SystemBus()
        devicepath='/org/bluez/7077/hci0/dev_xx_xx_xx_xx_xx_xx'
        device = dbus.Interface(bus.get_object('org.bluez', devicepath), 'org.bluez.Input')
        device.Connect()
    I Hope it works for you too.

  • Anyone have a suggestion on getting Adobe products to print in Mountain Lion?

    My Epson printers will not print anything but an 8 X 10 in Mountain Lion.  The 4900 will not center the image but the 9600 will.  The computer is outputting a pdf to the printer driver.  Does anyone have any suggestions on this issue.  I have tried Adobe but their customer service is anything but helpful.  Epson Pro Imaging has been through everything with me and it seems to be in order.  I could print just fine until I purchased a new Mac Pro with Mountain Lion on it.

    Maybe try printing from Preview instead of adobe? Preview is usually very straightforward.
