Anyone heard from Frontier about taking over service on 7/1?

I'm in an area being taken over by Frontier on July 1 but have not heard anything from them regarding the change.  Have had email from Verizon reminding me that on July 1 they will no longer be my service provider.  Just wondering what to expect on Thursday.  Has anyone been contacted by Frontier?

Basically you will want to keep the above info handy, in case you have a billing or tech support question that you need immediate attention or answers for.  Other than that, it should be a transparent change for you, other than everything will be branded by frontier.   like your menu system will stop saying verizon and start saying frontier.       there are small changes that may or may not affect you, but you'd want to check on that forum to see what users are experiencing, or go to frontier's website and see if they have a similiar forum for fios frontier customers.

  • Trackpad jumpy. Not able to use MacBook.  Has anyone heard from Apple on this pervasive issue?

My late 2008 13" MacBook (Snow Leopard) has become so erratic that it is almost impossible to use.  (Using another MacBook now).
Hard to believe it is not an OS or update issue since it appears to be very pervasive.  Anyone heard from Apple??
Any fix other than 3-prong plugs and dusty corners?  (Wipe the trackpad many time and the apple power cord is already 3-prong).

Some users have reported issues with battery expansion causing problems with their trackpads. Try removing the battery and testing the MacBook while using just the power cord. If this works, replace the battery.
    Best of luck.

  • So, I know this has been asked before. But, has anyone heard from Apple?

So, I know this has been asked before, but I'm just looking to see if anyone had heard from Apple on this at all. The minimum volume on my iPod Classic 160gb is too high, and I can't lower it. (AKA when I kill the volume, I can still hear music).
I called them today, but the rep was pretty useless. He even dropped the "well, just press pause" line on me. Took him a while to understand that when I'm in bed or studying, etc. the minimum volume is too loud, and I wanted to be able to set it lower.
The best workaround I've found so far is to buy headphones with their own volume control, but I just can't help but feel that someone shouldn't have to by additonal gear after buying this thing on account of such a basic feature exclusion.
Anyways, thanks for any help !

    Wow, easy there company boy!
I've heard all of what you spit up before.  And for your point of "Well, in several cases, people have complained (here in these discussion pages), that they expect the volume to be zero when turned to minimum position" that kind of ties in to why Apple should fix this.
And yeah....it's pretty much a given that "you and I have different interpretations of what constitues too loud" This is where the option to adjust the minimum volume comes in to play.  (I relly feel bad for you. Honestly. Having to live everyday of your life this way must be just brutal)
The wording would be pretty simple too. " Be aware there are many instances of the minimum volume being too loud, so think twice before dropping a few hundred bucks on this"
And, you're right. It is horrible to 'whine' about being ripped off and asking if there is a possible fix for the issue. I really do apologize for that. I should just suck it up and not voice my opinion that this is not fair to consumers, and Apple shouldn't fix a known issue with a product.
I did reset & restore, I figured that was pretty much implied since I said I spoke to Support.
And I am not at all surprised that you would say "I - for one - am not surprised that Apple might say, "simply hit the pause button"."  Again, I don't want it on muteReading your post made my eye twitch at least three times.
This is exactly the reason I was resitant to post on a forum. But, I got a good laugh anyways. Thanks guy!

  • Why is one film from iTunes Store taking over two days to download?

    Hi,
I bought a film from iTunes store two days ago and it is still downloading, loading about 0.1 MB per ten minutes. iTunes is telling me that I have around 80-100 hours until the download is completed, which seems absolutely crazy for a film that is only two hours long. I'm beginning to lose patience and would like to know if anyone knows why it is taking so long for this film to download? And, is there a way to increase the download speed without downloading any untrustworthy files?
    Thank you,
    IsabellaAMG

  • Questions about taking over an existing account

    Hi,
I'm looking to take over an existing Verizon account with upgrade eligibility in August of 2012 and contract ending in December 2012. Here are my questions:
    1. If I change the voice or texting plan (from unlimited minutes down to 450 mins/month), does that affect the contract length, or will it still end in December?
    2. If I suspend the account until September, will the account still be eligible for an upgrade, or will I have to wait longer?
    3. I want to take over the account now (March), suspend it until September, and then re-activate it and get the new iPhone when it comes out. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Will that affect the upgrade eligibility date? I would like to get the iPhone 5 when it comes out in Sept/Oct.
And you said "up to 12 months"...what determines the exact extension time?
    Thanks

  • Anyone heard anything more about shipping?

I successfully ordered my phone last night. Now I'm wondering if anybody has gotten any more information about what the shipping date will be (beyond the fact that the shipping confirmation says 2/10).

When you switch to iTunes backups, the device will start to make any further backups to iTunes on your computer. It will only do this when it is connected to iTunes and a power source. (If it is set to sync/backup wirelessly, it will only do so when it is connected to a Wi-Fi network)
When you switch back to iCloud backups, it will basically resume where it left off and start to back up once again to iCloud. There is no moving of backup files between iTunes and the cloud when you switch between backup options.

  • Has anyone heard of "UTH Computers" scamming and taking over control of your computer?

Has anyone heard of "UTH Computers" scamming and calling you and then taking over your computer?
Sorry, I don't know where else to post this question…...

What damage do you think they did?
If you gave them your credit card number, call your bank and explain what happened.
Then have them issue a new credit card number and never give it out again.
Did you give them your login credentials?  If so, changed your password now!
Did some kind of software get installed on your Mac (not possible unless you authorized it)?

  • Why is installing 3 applications from a creative cloud packager taking over an hour?

    Dear Adobe community,
I am trying to install 3 Creative Cloud applications, (Illustrator, photoshop, and indesign) on a Windows 7 Hpz420 workstation from a USB hard drive and it is taking over an hour to complete.  i created a package of the 3 applications using the CC packager and move the package over to a USB drive.  Then I start the installer exe it runs and completes, but the installation takes over an hour and 1/2.  My installation of Creative Suite 5.5 from a similar USB hard drive was much quicker, about 1/2 hour.
I don't want to use a remote installer like AAMEE. Is there a different way to create a package that is more efficient? I also don't want to redown the applications everytime I need to install them on a machine and utilize my network bandwidth.
Is this normal ?  I have rebuilt the package with the same results and have installed CC on two different machines with the same results.  I did not see anything in the forums about the installation being so slow so I am concern that I have missed something or that my results are not normal.
    Your help is appreciated.
    Mike

My "Gaming" computer (Toshiba Qosmio X-70A, w/ 32GB RAM, i7 Intel processors @2.7 Ghz, w/ 250GB SSD, 750GB high-speed 7,200 RPM primary & 1TB SSD/HD hybrid drive) was purchase specifically, by me, to learn & use the Adobe "Cloud" Apps with.  This computer is a beast. <And - yet> it takes me days, literally <DAYs> to download all the apps I am using/studying.
I (last week) recently had my 1st "total meltdown" w/ Win 8.1-Pro (what a total P.O.S. "OS" this is!) & have faced the daunting task of re-installing ALL of the Adobe SW available over the "Creative Cloud". This will take days (w/ a direct DSL link to a Cat-6 cable; not on Wi-Fi) to "re-install" all the "Creative Cloud" software I was learning/working with. Insane. I have never seen anything like this!
So, "DLi" - I agree! Adobe's SW (& HW) Engineers don't give a stuff about your time nor mine.
The only things that are of importance to them are (#1 - "Keeping their jobs") ... metering out their "Creative Cloud" in a manner which allows them to investigate EVERY byte on your computer/server/device BEFORE allowing you to use it . . . (hmmm....I do wonder how many dollars per month that information is worth to the NSA / per seat)?) ... and making it "a nightmare" for the user.
    What an insult!
What an horrific slap in the face to each & every one of Adobe's "Creative Cloud" paying customers! (Uhhhm, that'd be you and that'd be me, too).

  • Has anyone heard anything about 2.0.1?

I've read some reports that the folks from BGR claim to have found Apache server logs making reference to 2.0.1 but not much else. Has anyone heard anything more definitive on the topic?

Likewise, no problems with 2.0. Yes, there are a lot of posts about problems. There are a lot of sick people in hospitals, also. That doesn't mean that the entire population is sick. If more than even a tiny percentage of the 6 million iPhone users had problems with their phones these boards would shut down from overload.
This is not to say there are no real problems, but that it is a small minority that has them. People with no problems don't go to message boards just to say "I have no problems".
I'm not saying the problems aren't real, but rather than wait for Apple to produce a 2.0.1 that might or might not fix the specific problem you are having try to do a little troubleshooting. Even it it's an Apple problem you can probably fix it yourself.

  • Anyone heard about Windows Embedded POSReady 7 Pro?

Has anyone heard about Windows Embedded POSReady 7 Pro? We manufacture ATMs and were forced to switch from Windows Embedded POSReady 7 to Windows 7 Professional FES last year due to changes in the additional terms (ATs) which stated that
POSReady 7 (without the "Pro"-suffix) must not be used with ATMs.
Since then we started implementing OA 2.1, for being able to activate our machines automatically and had to inform all our customers that we now have to buy more expensive licenses with reduced functionality (no BitLocker in Win7Prof, no Embedded Enabling
    Features, no LP support, etc.).
Last week I found a very interesting EULA on MyOEM.microsoft.com for the new OS-variant "Windows Embedded POSReady 7 Pro", which suddenly is allowed on ATMs explicitly:
    2. ADDITIONAL LICENSING REQUIREMENTS AND/OR USE RIGHTS
    a. Specific Use. You may use the software on a device with automated teller machine (“ATM”) as the primary functionality.
    See
    https://myoem.microsoft.com/oem/myoem/en/topics/Licensing/emblicres/Pages/DP-WinEmbPOSReady7ProEULA.aspx for details.
Our distributor supported us and already found the ATs for Windows Embedded POSReady 7 Pro, but was also surprised that Microsoft introduced this new variant.
Does anybody know more about it?
Where can we (indirect embedded OEM, who purchases through distribution) get such relevant information earlier? ( The only source of information I know is the MyOEM-portal) And why did Microsoft release the new variant now?
    Best regards, Roman Maier

I have never heard of a Pro version for POSReady 7. It is not listed in the life cycle:
    https://www.microsoft.com/windowsembedded/en-us/product-lifecycles.aspx
Nor is there a download for it:
    https://www.microsoft.com/windowsembedded/en-us/downloads.aspx
Sounds like someone is doing some funny business. The successor to POSReady 7 is Windows Embedded 8.x Industry, which comes in two flavors - Pro and Enterprise.

  • Prevent an add-on from taking over browsing toolbar

There is some extension of sorts that keeps taking over. It's called mp3tubetoolbar and every time I go to search a word in the toolbar it pops up using this engine. How to I change this to use bing for searching, and prevent it from changing it in the future?
I already went to my add-on's and it does not list the mp3tubetoolbar, so I have no idea how to rid of it? Please advise.

Click the Firefox button, go to Add-ons, Extensions and remove this:<br><br>
    * Jookz Toolbar.<br><br>
If it doesn't make any difference, do this<br><br>
    * In the location bar, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.<br><br>
    * In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''<br><br>
    * Double click it and remove whatever's in there and replace it with http://www.bing.com/search?q=<br>
The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
'''To reset your home page, do the following'''.<br><br>
    * Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.<br><br>
    * Click the orange Firefox button and go to '''Options '''| '''Options '''| '''General''' .<br><br>
    * Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.<br><br>
    * Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.<br>
N.B. to prevent the problem recurring, watch what you do when you install a 'free' program. Most of this junk comes bundled with other apps.
