Anyway of finding my iMac.

Hi, I'll  try and keep this short house got burgled last week, iMac was taken, but I still have the associated ipad and iPhone. Which now have find iphone so can see locations when logged in/last logged in. I didn't use this app on the iMac but it has icloud and messages photos on one device would automatically upload sync to the others, Is there any chance to find the iMac this way?

No, you would have to have set up iCloud and enabled Find My Mac on it in order to locate it.  If it was signed into your iCloud account you should change your iCloud password so the thief can't access and take over your iCloud account.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2617.

  • Logic Remote iPad app can not find my iMac.

I have tried every thing suggested on here to try and fix this but the Logic Remote iPad app can't find my iMac running Logic Pro X.
They are on the same Wi-Fi network, I've disabled the firewall, turned on file sharing, deleted and reconnected to my Wi-Fi on both my iMac and my iPad, removed all other CS's etc etc etc. Any thoughts about anything I may not have tried?
    Thanks!

I just installed Avast on my iMac. It did a full scan and found ( Win32:MalOb-C[Cryp] )
I deleted the 30 infections and 7 warnings. I hope this fixes the problem 4/30/13
Sorry, but that's Windows only malware, so unless you are having Windows issues, it's not going to solve your problem, whatever it is.
I got this from an email and I changed my email password, but it surfaced again
    before I did this scan.
Be careful how you deal with infected e-mails as you can easily corrupt the mailbox index and cause a few other issues, including leaving that e-mail on the server.  Always delete e-mails from within your e-mail client.

  • After updating iOS on my iPod touch 4th gen my Philips speaker dock DC290B/37 no longer charges the iPod.  It will play music but not charge, is there anyway to find out if Apple is working on an update/fix?

    Try:
    - Reset the dock
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
Otherwise you are out of luck. Apple is not making any more update for the 4G.
Also check with Phillips. Maybe they have an firmware update available

Maybe. What kind of other computer are you talking about? What operating system is it running? What kind of wireless router are you using?
Your best bet may be to just reset the router and set it up again.
Just so you know, WEP is a very old security system for wireless and is considered insecure. If you have it available, use WPA2.

  • Anyway to find out if/when cabinet will go fiber?

    Hi All,
It's been awhile now I moved into my new build development couple of years ago, all houses/flats are now fully occupied for the past year, so the business justification is there to upgrade the cabinet, is there anyway to find out when it will happen or whether if it will even happen?
    Thanks in advance.

If you use this checker it will tell what cabinet you are on and what services it can receive
    http://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/adslchecker.welcome
You can then email Openreach on [email protected] giving them your cabinet number, exchange, telephone number and address and they should be able to reply with the up to date information. They can take a coupe of weeks to reply.

These are user to user help forums.  To tell Apple you want more fonts for Thai, go here:

But I suspect this is likely one of those things for which you will always have to use a full computer rather than a iPad.

  • Hi, my ipad got stolen and i was wondering if there is anyway of finding out the serial number remotely from another apple device?

Hi, my ipad got stolen and i was wondering if there is anyway of finding out the serial number remotely from another apple device?

If it iwas registered to your account then you should be able to get it from your support profile : https://supportprofile.apple.com/
If not then do you have a backup of the iPad on your computer's iTunes ? If you do then in iTunes go into Edit > Preferences (iTunes > Preferences if using a Mac) and on the Devices tab on that hover your mouse pointer over the iPad's backup : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4061

  • I have recently found an iphone with a passcode and i need to know if there is anyway to find out who it belongs to, please help.

i have found this iphone 4 down the local pub and i have had it in my possession for almost a month now and none has come to claim it, is there anyway to find out who it belongs to or if i could find out stuff about them like maybe a home contact but i dont want to mess around bypassing the passcode incase it removes data, what can i do to find out who it belongs to ?

The only way for you to get past the passcode would be to restore the phone as a new device in iTunes, thus erasing all data on the phone. Unfortunately, this is the only way to get into the phone, but any owner info will be gone. However, you will be able to see the phone's IMEI number, & with that you can contact various carriers to see if the phone was reported lost or stolen. The carrier won't tell you who the owner is, but they will be able to contact the owner.

    Hi 02SilverSport,
Try using the power button to wake the iMac.
OS X Mavericks: Using the power button
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5869
If you are using a wireless keyboard or mouse, check out this article:
OS X Mavericks: Wake your computer with a wireless mouse or keyboard
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13997
And for more generic troubleshooting, try this one:
OS X: When your Mac doesn't sleep or wake
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5357
where there's a section for "Your computer cannot wake from sleep" and "Your computer is slow to wake from sleep".

  • Can't find my iMac with my iBook through networking

    Hello,
I'm trying to connect my iBook G4 to my iMac for file sharing. I've enable file-sharing in the Sharing preferences, plus I've enabled AppleTalk in the Network preferences. When I am on my iMac, I can find my iBook, no problem. But when I am on my iBook, I can't find my iMac listed in the Network folder. I can connect to my iMac manually, using Go -> Connect to Server..., but I would like it to show up automatically like it does the other way around. How can I get my iBook to connect to my iMac the same way as my iMac connects to my iBook?
    1.33 GHz PowerPC G4 and iMac7.1 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, both running Mac OS X 10.4.10
    Kenton

Might go to Finder>Preferences>Sidebar, toggle off the Show Network Icon, reboot, toggle back on.
Or, as a neat workaround, once mounted via Go -> Connect to Server
drag that Icon on the Desktop to the right side of the Dock between Applications & Trash.

  • HT4796 Pc cant find the Imac for tranfers.. any suggestions ??

Apple people .. please help me..

What is your problem? Be specific.
First off the PC doesn't Find the iMac. The iMac finds the PC.
Second you REALLY Do Not want to use Migration Assistant. Just copy over your personal files from the PC to the Mac. Do that either over your LAN or to an external drive formatted FAT32 or exFAT.
Migration assistant, If it Works, has unintended consequences.
There is nothing on any PC, other then personal data files (Images, Music and office files), that work on a Mac. No programs or settings will be carried over.

  • I was restoring my phone and i can't get the latest back up to show up is there anyway to find it? i have tried some things to no avail.

i was restoring my iphone i backed it up right before i did it and now it only shows a back up from months ago. is there anyway to find that back up i did right before i restored my phone?

iTunes prefs > Devices > backups are listed.  If you don't see it, it's not on your computer.
Are you sure you didn't enable backup to iCloud either on your phone or in iTunes?  The phone will backup to iCloud, and not your computer, even if connected to your computer.
Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > scroll to bottom and see last backup date/time
