AP in Flexconnect mode not registering automatically to WLC after Link Up
Hi,
I have 2702I series AP registered with 5508 HA WLC over WAN working in Flexconnect mode. All of a sudden the AP lost connectivity to WLC and is operational in Flexconnect mode now.
I am concerned whether it should rejoin again automatically ?(which didn't happen) or i need a reboot to get it joined again.
Also if it rejoins automatically does the wireless services go down ?
Any specific reasons to why it didn't register ? Have debugged capwap and saw error unable to resolve CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER. Not sure why its unable to resolve now as earlier it was registered this way only.

The FlexConnect access point should register back to the controller that was defined as the primary, secondary and or tertiary controller or one of the other controllers in the mobility group. I would make sure that the AP hasn't joined any other controller. If you are able to console into the access point, then you can really see what is happening. Seems like you were able to either console or ssh to that AP.
You still have other access points that have joined the controller? Is this the only access point that id in standalone mode at the momen? I would try to reboot it and see what happens, but its best to have console access.

I have already upgraded the Hub CAS server and they are fine
Exchange running on Windows 2008 R2 SP1
All are in VM-Ware ESXi 5.0
After I upgrade the mailbox server to SP2 the SA and IS service not starting automatic after reboot
If I run "net time /set" command and then restart ADtopology server, the IS and SA starts fine
But again after reboot they do not start
Also I get the below event in the app log when the IS & SA fails to start

If I check the Registry for time resource it is taking from the DC
I manually compared the time between DC and Exchange and it is fine
Since the Exchange mailbox is virtual, I checked the time sync on VM-Ware tools and it is "unchecked"
Checked for group policy and do not find any specific to time sync.
Confirmed that Windows Time service is running
Suspecting a Operating system issue, tried to upgrade the other DAG
Even that node is displaying the same symptom and Issues
Tried to install RU1 on both nodes and that too did not fix the issue.
Checked with VM-Ware engineer and he said that every thing from VM-Ware end is fine

Unable to initialize the Information Store service because the clocks on the client and server are skewed. This may be caused by a time change either in the client or the server, and may require a reboot of that computer. Verify that
your domain is properly configured and is currently online.
Solution:
Open a cmd prompt from the Exchange Server as administrator (right mouse click on the command prompt shortcut and select “Run as Administrator”)
Run this command
Net time \\ADServerName /Set
Restart the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology Service
*Important!! You have to restart the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology Service or this fix will not work.. I tried just starting the Information Store service after running the command it it still failed..
This worked for me and all is well on my exchange server.

How can I tell LR not to automatically import pictures after editing and saving?
Whenever I open a RAW file from LR into Photoshop and save it within Photoshop as a tiff or whatever, it gets automatically imported to the LR catalog. Is there a way to avoid this?

It does stack with the original on my computer. Opening the raw image in Photoshop as a smart object does allow you to go back to the raw file in Camera Raw. And it adjusts the raw file. But when you close Camera Raw you are back working on the image in Photoshop. All the work you do in Photoshop is saved in the TIF or PSD. If you then go back to Lightroom and delete that TIF or PSD file you have thrown away all the adjustments done in Photoshop. Of course the raw file will be impacted by the adjustments that you made in Camera Raw, and it affected the TIF or PSD. But you're still throwing away all the Photoshop work. -

Few have this problem. But there is no single sure solution for this.
Until a solution is found, manually connecting to wifi after sleep is the way.

My config is OSX 10.9.1 new macbook pro 13 retina (2014).
The wifi does not reconnect automatically when waking up from sleep mode since I have a Bluetooth apple magicmouse.
It was not the case before I bought the BT mouse.
Is this problem between Wifi and bluetooth coming from the OS?
Is there a fix already available or scheduled?

Activate Lost mode when device not registered?

I lost my beloved iPhone4 yesterday...& have since found out all about 'find my iPhone' & 'Lost mode'...thin is my 'device' was not registered to iCloud !!
so my question is....is there anyway possible of 'registering it' whilst I do not have it ? Or anyway it can be activated remotely into 'lost mode' without it being a registered device ?

Standby database not applying archivelogs, manually apply after registering

I have a small problem with physical standby db.
Standby db was created and it was working fine, was applying logs with no problem. One day I had to switch it to read only mode, it stayed in this mode for quiet a while. Then there was a problem with space for archive logs. I fixed this, copied missing logs, registered them and these were applied.
And then database stopped on the sequence which was automatically registered by primary database.
v$managed_standby:

As you can see there is WAIT_FOR_LOG sequence 19600 which should be applied, which is in the directory, to which oracle user has rights to read etc, etc.
Only way to force database to apply this log is to manually register it, but I have to add "or replace", because file is already registered.

Question is obvious - why logs are not applied automatically?
Why logs ARE applying manually but the DEST_ID is set to 0?
There was no major structure change in primary, besides - logs are applied after all. Bouncing the database doesn't give me any good, switching to readonly and back to recovery mode neither.
Please can you help? I can build this standby again but this is not a solution.
Any additional info on request.

APs in Flexconnect mode, initial AP group
We have deployed many Cisco site specific WLAN controllers worldwide.
We are now testing APs in Flexconnect mode at our branches with regional C8510 controllers running 7.6.110.0. One of the issues that we see is that if we deploy a new AP and get it associated with C8510 controller the AP automatically falls under Default AP group and transmits the first couple of SSIDs that are by default enabled in Default AP group. This is not good as we plan to have hundreds of SSIDs configured for many branches and we do not want a new AP to transmit any SSID until it is assigned to site specific AP and Flexconnect groups. We know the AP can be admin disabled ( or its Radios ) after the first initial procedure and then moved to the right groups but this is a manual process and we want to have something automated in our hands.
Does anyone know if we can get rid of this default behavior?

Thank you. It's not about SSIDs, we broadcast the same SSIDs, but is more about WLANs and their settings. We have our specific security and other internal rules, for example we cannot use the same PSK at all sites etc. Some of the WLANs are the same everywhere, but quite many not. That's why I need to differentiate and have many separate WLANs. It is my understanding C8510 is a top box so to be honest 512 WLAN limit quite surprised me. I want to use it up to its maximum before I need to buy another box.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

The installation and configuration of the EH&S Expert ist described in a general OSS note (refer below). In this OSS note it is shown how to do it (you need to configure Windows etc.).
In WWI Conncetion it is furtheremore important how you configure the RFC (Unicode transfer mode or not). With EH&S Expert I have no experience but the same issue applies in my opinion.

Hope someone can help with this! Since upgrading to Firefox 15.0.1 most, but not quite all, keystokes I enter do not register. I've checked that my keyboard is working and it's absolutely fine with any other applications, including Internet Explorer which I've had to resort to using in order to post this question, as I can't fill in the fields using Firefox.
A standard diagnostic to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings) is to try Firefox's Safe Mode.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode ([[Safe Mode]]) using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode."
If input boxes work correctly, this points to one of your extensions or custom settings as the problem.
Note that Safe Mode also disables hardware graphics acceleration. Before sorting through all your extensions, if you have noticed performance problems or display artifacts, try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox (in normal mode).
You usually need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

We have everything with BT including a new TV box with netflix etc, which is currently at the end of the 14 day cooling off period. If the following problem isn't resolved today I will be considering cancelling the TV contract and leaving BT all together.
Our phone was working ok on the 15/4/2015. I tried to dial a local number last night (16/4/2015) to hear 'you are not registered to use this service please contact your service provider'. I dialled again with the area code, same thing. Also with national and mobile calls. We can receive incoming calls. I rang the Indian call centre who said there is no problem with the line or the account (which is in credit) it must be the handset. I am waiting for them to ring me back but having searched the problem online I think this will be to no avail. I have read about prefixing phone numbers with 1280 and this has worked when trying to ring my own mobile, so it can't be a problem with the handset, can it?
I've seen it could be a problem with Indirect Access IDA being removed from my account (no idea how this might happen). I also know that there was a major outage last week (around 6/4/2015) in our area which led to the freeview HD channels not being available. I had to reset our router which cleared the problem but were Openreach in our area doing something to the exchange boxes etc?
I need this problem sorting out A.S.A.P. please.The fact that if you use 1280 it allows successful calls suggests your line is set as CPS , carrier pre select, if this has just happened it suggests a CPS provider has taken your 'line' for calls if not for line rental, but it's not properly set up otherwise calls would terminate it would just be billed by the mystery CPS provider
Have you had any approach by company's that sell this product ?, sometimes ISP's who's product includes calls can use CPS, if not, and you haven't been 'slammed' you need BT to set your line as non CPS , so BT handle your calls automatically without using 1280
This should be easy to get done, but the drones that answer the calls probably won't have a clue, hence the 'it must be your handset' nonsense they come up with, report the line faulty,don't accept an appointment, and insist they sent the problem to what was once called BT Operate, they look after the telephone exchange equipment and it's 'data', -
Hello, (Bit of a long one but please read)
We have 3 servers in same physical location and server OU etc that are exhibiting the exact same behaviors (we have server servers in this location that are not), as above theyt are all W2008 R2 SP1 and all built from the same standard
image we use on hundreds of other computers, they have also been in production for different amounts of time and we started to see this behavior at different times with them: (Its odd they are all in the same site where there are also several other servers
that are not effected, there must be a link ? )
These servers are all missing several patches when checking our internal tool that reports from IBM endpoint management that we use to deliver patches (they are not all missing the exact same patches some ore or less than other), although
SCCM (we used SCCM to deliver patches until around 6 months ago) and IBM EM are both running (some ptches hark back to the SCCM Delievry days) they are not patching and when attempting to patch manually by downloading the exact patch coresponding to the fixlet
ID and the KB , the stanbdalone installer starts and after some time you receive an error message “The update is not applicable to yoru computer”. Windows update returns error 80070006 for all of the servers.
it is worth noting that other applications and products also using the .MSU extension will insatll so it is not a problem with the installer service.
The above led me to think a corrupt patch may have stopped the sequence of patching so I then looked in “Programs and Features” => “Installed updates” and this is blank for all of them returening the message:
“NO UPDATES ARE INSTALLED ON THIS COMPUTER”. (this I believe is a part of the fundamental issues and resolving this may resolve the patching)
Another issue is that if you run “SFC /SCANNOW” It starts the scan and then returns: “Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation” (Also in safe mode and both from an elevated CMD and WMI is started as a service)
The all three are probably related so I think fixing the “SFC and NO UPDATES SHOWN” issues will resolve the first.
The things I have tried so far are:
Running : wmic qfe list full /format:htable > c:\updates.htm Should produce a list of updates but instead returns : No Instance(s) Available (this is not hopeful)
Fix: Ran the “SYSTEM UPDATE REDINESS TOOL” from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
Result : Update Ran successfully but NO CHANGE
Fix: Ran the automated and manual fix “RESET WINDOWS UPDATE COMPONENTS” here :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058/en then undated windows update agent.
Result : All ran successfully and NO CHANGE
Fix: Ran MBSA
Result : Runs successfully and then stays at “Done downloading security update information” (Log gives no obvious information)
Fix: Renamed the software distribution folder/restarted services (Various variations of this fix online, tried a few)
Result: Runs as described in article with new Software distribution folder being created,
NO CHANGE
Fix: Create/Correct the reg key for windows trusted installer located here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\Version (several articles relating to this and the above issues)
Result: the existing key was correct as should be from internal system information gathered , required in article.
Fix: Ran the “Windows update trouble-shooter”

Result: It detected and fixed error’s but still no change.
The WMI Repository checks out on them all for both of the methods I know to verify “Get-wmiobject –list |measure” and ensure count is over 900 and also “C:\>winmgmt /verifyrepository” and the repository came back as “WMI Repository is consistent”. I guess
this is not hard evidence the WMI is OK, but these are the only methods I know.
I have also tried removing the server from its OU , running a GP Update and then rebooting and testing but to no avail (Bit of a longshot but tried to link the distinction between the three servers and the OU GP is one of them)
I have tried a few other articles registering .Dll’s etc , but I did not take a note of links as I was at the start of this and didn’t expect it to go so long so please reply with anything you see not above im happy to try again.
I have thought about removing SP1 and reinstalling it but this will require a major downtime and only possible if the backup files of SP1 have not been removed.

Please try to rebuil the WMI repository.

If issue persists, due to sfc doesn't work, could you try to repair your system with the installation disk?
