[Apache] Problem with Mod_rewrite

Hi,
when I try to use mod_rewrite on my localhost, it won't run. Simple rules like ^index.html$ index.php [L] return me a 404-Error. I read somewhere in the forums about "AllowOverride" and set it to all, but i didn't improve anything. Does someone know how to fix that?
--- EDIT ---
Needed some RewriteBase

Just as reference for other people coming in this page. There is a solution setting correctly AllowOverride on the chosen directory in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
I found the solution in this thread:
http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=41606
Cheers
Also
Make sure you have the AllowOverride directive in in a directory container as follows:
<Directory /path/to/your/documentroot/>
...other stuff you might have in here ...
AllowOveride ALL
</Directory>
If the directive is not ALL then your .htaccess file may not be read: see:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.1/mod/co … owoverride
P.S do not change the "AllowOverride None" directive in <Directory /> section of httpd.conf
If you still have problems you may wish to check that the AccessFileName directive (if present) in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf reads:
AccessFileName .htaccess
see:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.1/mod/co … ssfilename
I learnt this the hard way. Hope this helps others.

  • Problem with mod_rewrite

    I have been trying to work on mod_rewrite for our site. I did get some VERY good help on the mod_rewrite forum but now I am hitting a wall trying to use the [P,L] condition on my Xserve. ( [L] alone works)
    Here is my issue from the other forum: http://forum.modrewrite.com/viewtopic.php?t=1554
    #In other words, my RewriteRule works as:
    RewriteRule ^/?$ http://YOUR-DOMAIN:8080/dspace/index.jsp [L]
    #but not as:
    RewriteRule ^/?$ http://YOUR-DOMAIN:8080/dspace/index.jsp [P,L]
    I think it has something to do with with the modules and I see libproxy.so but don't know what this does.
    I was directed on the mod_rewrite forum to use modproxyhttp.so but don't see a similar line to uncomment in my httpd.conf file.
    I am sure that I am missing something obvious but do not know what it is.
    Thanks for the help,
    Gene

    OK, checked and the proxy_module is turned on.
    I am not sure about checking the URL. I have only been able to connect as localhost (but never out and back in). I am at work now so I moved on to suggestion three.

  • Problems with mod_rewrite

    My scenario is:
    I would like to have this URL:
    http://myhostname:7778/pls/apex/f?......
    Accessible by typing this URL:
    http://myhostname/operations
    I've been successful at simplifying the URL by using Frames,
    But I was not able to eliminate the need to type in the Port Number.
    I think I need to use the MOD_REWRITE module.
    According to my httpd.conf file, the module is loaded: (See Below)
    # Loading mod_rewrite module here as it has to load before mod_oc4j
    LoadModule rewrite_module libexec/mod_rewrite.so
    The ReWrite rules and Conditions I am using are shown here:(See Below)
    <VirtualHost *:7890>
    ServerName MyHostname.bu.edu
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^.*operations$ [NC]
    RewriteRule ^/operations $ http://MyHostname:7778/pls/apex/f?p=113:701 [R]

    DocumentRoot "/oracle6/app/oracle/product/10.1.2as/Apache/Apache/htdocs/operations"
    ServerAlias MyHostname
    </VirtualHost>
    FYI.
    You can see that I've also considered ProxyPass, But I think I've decided that use of the MOD_REWRITE is what I actually want.
    Please feel free to comment on this decision.
    My questions are:
    1. Is my RewriteCOND written correctly
    2. is my RewriteRULE written correctly
    3. Is there anything else I'm forgetting to do.
    * Is there a way to insure that rewrite module is really loaded and configured correctly?
    Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks- Gary

  • Problem with WebLogic 10.3.3, Apache 2.2.3 and WebLogic Apache proxy plugin

    I have a problem with using Apache 2.2.3 as a WebLogic SSL proxy. I have Apache 2.2 running and successfully configured an SSL cert, config in ssl.conf is...
    <VirtualHost secure.daftdonkey.com>
    # Setup SSL for secure.daftdonkey.com
    ServerName secure.daftdonkey.com
    SSLEngine On
    SSLCertificateFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.crt
    SSLCertificateKeyFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.key
    SSLCertificateChainFile /oracle/secure/gd_bundle.crt
    </VirtualHost>
    This works fine
    Now I want Apache to proxy requests to my WebLogic Server and secure them over SSL as well
    e.g. a request to https://secure.daftdonkey.com/service goes to https://weblogic.internal.site/service
    I have downloaded and configured the weblogic module and tested it handling traffic for HTTP and that worked, then I switched the WebLogic module to use SSL.
    LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl.so
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    WebLogicHost weblogic.internal.site
    WebLogicPort 16101
    Debug ALL
    SecureProxy ON
    WLSSLWallet /oracle/secure/my-wallet
    WLLogFile /tmp/wl-proxy.log
    </IfModule>
    <Location /service>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    </Location>
    Starting Apache throws the error. I think this is my main problem, i've searched support.oracle.com and not found anything.
    [Mon Jun 07 23:00:48 2010] [crit] (20014)Internal error: WL SSL Init failed for server: (null) on 0
    but Apache starts... I get this error when I make a request to https://secure.daftdonkey.com/service

    I found the answer to this. The documentation is not clear enough, LD_LIBRARY_PATH MUST be set and MUST have a pointer to the directory where the SSL .so modules are. I wrote up a blog article explaining the configuration and detailed this issue.

  • Problem with Apache Plugin

              Hi,
              Hi I am getting some Errors when i am trying to Run the Apache Server. Actual Problem is
              I want to create an Cluster Environment using 2 weblogic Cluster. i read that documentation, using apache-weblogic plug-in, we can improve the cluster performence.
              I follow the Same rules and i install ed the Apache server and i copy the *.so file that required for apache(if i commented out the LoadModule weblogic_module libexec/mod_wl.so , serverrunning fine)
              But whenever i am trying to run apache Server with that
              Its given a error like
              "BUG IN DYNAMIC LINKER ld.so:dynamic-link.h:57: elf_get_dynamic_info: Assertion '! "bad dynamic tag" failed!
              ./apachectl start: httpd could not be started
              If u will give some help about this its most helpful for me.
              ThankQ

    Which version of Apache are you using? Are you on Solaris?
              Have you enabled the bootstap module mod_so for apache? Do httpd -l to ensure that.
              Did you use apxs to deploy mod_wl.so?
              Please go through the steps described in the docs again to see if you missed something.

  • Problem with Apache reverse proxy after applying SP13 NW

    Hello,
    we have a NW04 EP Portal and a Apache reverse proxy in the DMZ. After applying SP 13 for the portal we get the following error from the reverse proxy:
    Proxy Error
    The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
    The proxy server could not handle the request GET /irj/.
    Reason: Error reading from remote server
    Apache/2.0.52 (Win32) mod_ssl/2.0.52 OpenSSL/0.9.7e Server at servername.company.de Port 443
    Is is it possible, that there is a problem with sp13?

  • Apache/2.2.4 (Win32) + Weblogic 8.1 Problem with Module

    Hey together,
    i'm pretty new to this whole weblogic thing.
    I wanted to install the apache plugin for weblogic. I am using weblogic 8.1 and apache 2.2.4 on win xp sp2.
    I followed the instructions given in the tutorial at bea.com.
    When i try to test the conf-file via httpd.exe -t i get
    httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 116 of C:/Programme/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load C:
    /Programme/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/modules/mod_wl_20.so into server: Das angegebene Modul wurde nicht gefun
    den.
    But the mod_wl_20.so file is definitley in this directory as all the other modules.
    This is the important part of my httpd.conf:
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    <Location /weblogic>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    WebLogicHost localhost
    WebLogicPort 7101
    MatchExpression *
    </Location>
    </IfModule>
    I even downloaded the latest version of this plugin without sucess. It's all 32 bit, so there should be no problems with that.
    I read through several topics/threads dealing with same problems but without success.
    Could any1 help please?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    What do you have on line 116 ? I have it setup on Win2k and it works fine with the following statements. Only difference is that I have Apache 2.0.54 (not 2.2.x)
    LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl_20.so
    <Location /wlPortal >
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    WebLogicHost localhost
    WebLogicPort 7001
    </Location>
    Kevin.

  • Problem with SSL weblogic plug in and Apache

    We're using mod_wl_22.so with Apache, and after some problems with the mod failing on startup it is now working. We can access the weblogic SSL page fine directly on port 16101 with no warning, when we try via the proxy we get a failure of server Apache bride --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF. And in the wl_proxy.log there is a message that I think relates to the trustedcertfile in our http.conf file. We have a root certificate in pem format as the trustedcertfile.

    Thu Jan 27 21:52:16 2011 <258812961651354> request [irm_desktop] did NOT process successfully..................

    I see that it is six months ago that I first posted this. Nothing has changed. When I use affixa to create a message with an attachment from my gmail account in firefox, the message is created in drafts, but the gmail window is closed and I have to re-open it. Not critical, but annoying.
    Now there is a plug-in on the affixa site that is supposed to be designed for Firefox, and which affixa support claims should take care of this. And I've downloaded it twice. When you download it and open it, it says that it will be installed when Firefox restarts, and gives you a button to restart Firefox. But after you click that button and firefox disappears and re-appears, the affixa plug-in is NOT in the plugin list.
    Please, somebody, HELP.

  • Apache 2.2.3 recompilation problem with updated openssl

    I am trying to recompile an apache 2.2.3 with an updated openssl and stumble on httpd-2.2.3 make. I did compile this setup in the last year successfully, only difference is updated openssl.
    First, I installed openssl-0.9.6m from source. Test install:
    /usr/local/ssl/bin/openssl version
    OpenSSL 0.9.6m 17 Mar 2004
    Using following gcc version:
    gcc -v
    Reading specs from /usr/local/lib/gcc/sparc-sun-solaris2.10/3.4.6/specs

    I'm experiencing the same problem with the current DirecTV remote not being able to learn more than the first button prompted to enter (arrow-down). The error message "appletv has already learned this button" appears when attempting to enter the second button prompted (arrow-up). Furthermore, I have attempted configuration on two separate DirecTV HR21 remotes in both AV1 and AV2 modes.
    Come on Apple -- don't tease us! Testing wasn't done to make sure AppleTV can learn to respond to a current DirecTV remote? Yikes. I wonder what 3rd-party remotes were tested and confirmed to work.

  • Glibc-2.9.2-i686 breaks apache and causes problems with samba?

    I could not start the apache daemon.  The output from /usr/sbin/apachectl start is
    httpd: ../sysdeps/posix/getaddrinfo.c:1465: rfc3484_sort: Assertion `src->results[i].native == -1 || src->results[i].native == a2_native' failed.
    /usr/sbin/apachectl: line 78: 2933 Aborted $HTTPD -k $ARGV
    The getaddrinfo.c, I believe, is in the glibc package.
    Also, I get error logs in my /var/log/samba directory named like  "__ffff" followed by the IP address of a remote client.  In one of them it says that samba is dumping core and contains

    I downgraded glibc to 2.8-3 and I can now start apache.  No problems with samba yet either although I had to make pacman skip dependency checks because a number of packages depended on glibc >= 2.9.

    getaddrinfo.c - this is place where glibc 2.9 has a major change in IP resolving. see the bugreport we had and still have. search google and upstream (Fedora/RedHat) for reports.
    maybe a simple recompile of the affected packages can help. holding an outdated version is a bad solution. new packages compiled against the new version may use new functions and break with the old one.

  • Problem with Apache

    I have a problem with starting Apache process.
    There is a log:
    fopen: Invalid argument
    Processing config directory: c:/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_2/apache/modplsql/conf"
    Apache.exe: could not open config directory c:/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_2/apache/modplsql/conf"

    Kostya,
    Is that directory there (does it exist)? And is it readable by the Apache service user?

  • Problem with JMX Remote Port - JBoss & Apache on same machine

    Hi,
    I have a server which hosts Apache that uses mod_jk to pass requests to three Tomcat instances. Apache listens to port 80.
    I want to install a different application on the same machine that runs on JBoss. Foreseeing the problem with port numbers, I got a different IP address (Let's say IP2, and original IP for Apache is IP1) on the same machine to run JBoss application. I changed HTTP Connector configuration in server.xml to add "address=IP1:8080" for Tomcat, "address=IP2:8080" for JBoss. I also modified Apache Listen directive in httpd.conf from "Listen 80" to "Listen IP1:80".
    Now when I try to start JBoss server by running run.bat, I get below error.
    Can any one please suggest how can I resolve this port conflict? Is there even a way to resolve it? As JAVA_HOME can point to a single location and both JBoss & Apache use it?
    Thanks.

    What's running on JMX port without the Jboss running ?
    Seems that u have something it.
    Btw, try to discover how to bind JMX of portal to IP2, not to IP1 or to global Ip.

  • Problems with apache

    I downloaded XAMPP Moodle today to do some development and found that apache would not start. It complained that Web Sharing was already turned on in System Preferences and that I should turn it off. When I checked in System Preferences, all indications were that Web Sharing was not enabled. Furthermore, when I tried to turn it on from System Preferences, it would not do so. I opened up http://localhost and my own user account (i.e. localhost/~micah) functions properly and httpd shows up as three processes in Activity Monitor (one under root and two under _www).
    I am confident that I can kill it (using sudo), but I'm not confident that it will not come back in the same way when I restart. Also, how does System Preferences deterine whether or not httpd is running? Does it check the process list? Does it check the port? Is there a pid file? Why does it not show up properly in System Preferences?
    How do I properly fix this situation?

    Thanks for your response!
    Okay, done. Moved it from /Library/WebServer/Documents to /Sites/, stopped working. Now I suppose I have to look into the CGI?
    (apologies, haven't been near this project for a while).
    Okay, it now works!
    Following your hint about the CGI, I uncommented the line below. I don't why it was commented (or should be), but it now works. Had some other help stating it was indeed a problem with how to handel php.
    We're cool, now; thank you for your responses and help!

  • Problems with Apache and custom JSPs

    Hi
    We've made an application on top of IFS, using JWS in our test envirnment. Just before making some stress tests, I'd like to try it using Apache. We're currently having two problems:
    1) I switch to the apache configuration running ifsconfig and not selecting JWS. When I try to access the ifs using http://host/ifs/files, everything goes well except that the "logout" icon doesn't appear. I did a little research and found out that the link goes to /ifs/webui/images/logout.gif. This gives an error in mod_jserv.log, like this one:
    [07/06/2001 22:54:20:315] (ERROR) ajp12: Servlet Error: ClassNotFoundException: webui
    It seems it's trying to find a "webui" class, since in ifs.properties every url that begins with /ifs goes to jserv.
    I don't know if this is a know problem or what should I've check...
    2) This one is more important. We're using some custom JSPs, which we use to edit the properties of some types of documents. Basically, when the user clicks over a file one of our JSP appears. These JSPs call a bean to do some processing, passing the HttpRequest as a parameter. The problem is that when using JWS we get the "path" request variable like in path=/%3A29464
    However, when using Apache we get path=/ifs/files/%3A29464 ( and afterwards we get an exception because the ifsSession.getPublicObject method doesn't work).
    Any hints on this? One way could be to check if the path begins with /ifs/files, but that's not really nice.. and besides I could have the same problem in some other parts.
    It's kind of urgent....
    Thanks
    Ramiro

    Hi,
    The answer to your path problem is that you can make use of API to find out the current path so that it works both with Apache and with JWS. Follow the steps
    1. import the oracle.ifs.adk.http package in your custom jsps
    <%@ page import = "oracle.ifs.adk.http.*" %>
    2. Then within your jsp use the method
    getIfsPathFromJSPRedirect
    <%= oracle.ifs.adk.http.HttpUtils.getIfsPathFromJSPRedirect(request) %>
    This will give you the current path of the object on which you clicked on and which initiates the custom jsp.
    You can look at the CMS application which has made use of this API. URL is
    http://otn.oracle.com/sample_code/products/ifs/sample_code_index.htm
    Choose, sample applicatin -> Content Management system.
    Hope this helps
