ApDiv tag

Hi,
I have used an Apdiv Tag in a page. And in that one I place
an image.
To this image I've created a link. The problem is the color.
First the border around the image is visible, I don't want
it. It shouldn't be colored.
Second , the border get pink after you clicked on the image.
That worse.
Anyone how to solve this? Is there a setting I can use,
where?
Or should I use CSS? How should I write? I've tried with
a-link visited=#000000 but it doesn't helped.
I think I could works with specifying the link color in the
Apdive somewhere.
Plz help me.

To sort it for all images that you are using for links then
try this
rule in a linked stylesheet.....
a img {border:none;}

  • How do I position a apDiv tag?

    Hi there,
    I am having trouble trying to position my apDiv tag (apDiv1).
    How do i position it so that when the browser window is resized, it stays directly under the words "quick links"
    Please see my page https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4966582/intranet/index.html
    Also, does anyone know why two faint lines are appearing in the bottom half of the page?
    Thanks
    Nathan

    First, there's no reason at all for apdivs in your layout.  Do away with it altogether.
    The lines are appearing because your footer is one big image and it's not a repeating image and either it doesn't go to the edge or it doesn't match up with your.  Again this has to do with your layout.  There is really no reason to make everything into big images like you have.  Make a simple 450px high by 5px wide image and use it for your footer bg.  Set it to repeat-x.
    My suggestion would be to just start with a template or look to a framework like Bootstrap to help you out with the coding and look at making the site with CSS.

  • AP div tags/positioning within a box/can't do it/?

    *I've drawn a container box for my home page, into which I want to add an image, and then freely position my interactive/rollover buttons and/or images within the confines of that box.  I've got the background...and the box...but Dreamweaver will not let me draw an apdiv tag within the box.  I can draw outside the box, but get a circle with a slash when I try to draw within the box.
    I have a page online  www.bradmarsh.org.  I created it by just placing the image and then drawing the button boxes and placing them.  They are not placed relative to the confines of the box, so they move when I resize the browser.   Also..I might add...it's just a mockup.
    At this point, I still don't understand html, but I am starting to grasp it somewhat.  If I can solve this little issue, I can carry on with creating my own site.
    Help??
    Thank you

    I've drawn a container box for my home page,
    DW is not a graphics application with which you freely draw boxes on a workspace.  It's pro-level web authoring software that requires you to possess a working knowledge of  Web Design concepts, HTML and CSS code.
    Close DW.
    Spend some time learning CSS and XHTML first.

  • Convert Template to CSS

    I'm developing a website in DW and have found the whole
    template thing so buggy that I'm wondering if I could actually
    script the entire thing using css. The issue I have is that my site
    uses spry accordion widget placed over a apdiv tag/ In addition, I
    have a place for page info in an expandable box in an apdiv tag.
    Seems this should be easy, but i get hung up on figuring out
    to place the apdivs with in css.
    http://www.christywebbertemp.com/index.html
    is the link to the site.

    Script the entire thing using CSS? I can't imagine what you
    are thinking.
    Anyhow you have this CSS -
    topnav {
    position:absolute;
    width:420px;
    height:41px;
    z-index:3;
    left: 520px;
    top: 86px;
    font: bold normal 16px/normal Verdana, Arial, Helvetica,
    sans-serif;
    color: #CC0000;
    text-align: center;
    vertical-align: baseline;
    But that's not a proper selector. Then you have this -
    <p class="topnav"> </p>
    <p class="topnav"> </p>
    <div id="topnav">
    so I'm assuming you want that rule to hit this div. In that
    case the
    selector would have to be this -
    #topnav {
    Just so you'll know, I think it's terribly confusing to have
    both an ID
    selector and a class selector with the same name.

  • How Do I Put Pictures anywhere in fluid grid layout??

    Hi,
    I was wondering how you put pictures anywhere you want in fluid grid layout without having to use the fluid grid layout div tag. I find it easier to use the ap div and simply insert pictures and move them freely however when i do that they dont stay in the correct place and the other grids? Is there an easier way?

    Sorry but APDiv tags don't work in Fluid Grid layouts.  That's why Adobe removed them from CC.
    You must use the Fluid Grid divs in your layout to hold your text and images.
    <div class="gridContainer clearfix">
         <div class="div1">
              insert image here...
         </div>
         <div class="div2">
              insert image here...
         </div>
    </div>

  • Unwanted Behavior Result

    Thank you before hand for anybody nice enough to help me with
    this problem.
    I am having an issue with the Blind effect in Dreamweaver
    CS3.
    I have a rollover image that is part of my nav. bar, it is
    set up so on mouse roll over it blinds down a APDiv underneath it.
    On mouse out it blinds up the APDiv tag. The problem is that after
    it blinds up a 1px line remains and looks horrible. I figured out
    that the line is the same color as the border i'm using for the
    APdiv and that when i remove the border the line does NOT remain.
    However, the site does not look right without the APDiv's having
    borders.
    Please, if anybody knows how to fix this OR work around it
    please let me know.
    the site is located @ www.telmarkpkg.com, thanks.

  • Lost my  mxKollection3.css file

    Don't ask me how; I've no idea, but my mxKollection3.css file was over-written. It now contains some lonely little apDiv tags of my own creation. I have un-installed the extension and re-installed it but that didn't recreate the original file as I had hoped it might. Can someone please tell me how to get this file back?
    Thank you.

    Hi Brian
    P.S. can you remind me of my name?
    heck no, I can´t even recall my own name at times ! As I´m not completely sure about your name either, please select one of the following options:
    a) Brian Carbone
    b) Brian Barbone (the "lunga barba" version)
    c) Brian Nardone
    however, in case of doubt better ask your mom, she should know who you really are :-)

    Please help me out by providing a solution to this issue.

    You have bigger problems than you realize.   On this page - the one after the Splash intro page,
    http://www.transgenic-rabbit-models.com/Home.html
    As seen in Firefox with increased text.  See screenshot.
    Notice how your text boxes are colliding into other text boxes?  This happens when web designers paint themselves into a corner with a rigid layout.  Web pages must be flexible for all screen and text sizes.
    You are using APDivs as a primary layout method which is a bad choice.  And here is why.

  • Ap Div Tag Problem

    OK so this is my first wbesite in dreamweaver so and i ran into a problem....i made a AP div tag but i can get it where i want it.....my backrground is center in the website and i put my nav links in a AP div tag so i could then put them in a certain area where i wanted.(i think is the only way i know hjow to do this)  Well how can i get them centered left and right in the website but the top and bottom i want to place by hand???? they are where they need to be when i preview it in the browser but in the dreamweaver file they are down and to the right......i had to keep messing with it and previewin it until it showed up where i wanted it to in the browser. Im sure i have a setting worng either in my CSS or html.... Please help!

    First rule of web design is to stop thinking like a graphic or print designer.  Web pages need to be flexible to perform well on different devices, browsers, user settings, screen and text sizes.  And web designers have almost no control over these user-centric variables.
    The second rule of web design, you cannot precisely position text or other elements on top of big background image and expect it to stick.  It just doesn't work.
    http://alt-web.com/Backgrounds.shtml
    If your navigation bar requires a background, it should be separate from the page background. You'll need to use solid colors or create image slices for your nav bar in your graphics editor.
    Third rule, use default CSS positioning (which is no positioning at all).  Align objects with CSS margins, padding and floats.
    Basic CSS Layout.  (No APDivs used, no animals were harmed)

  • Div Tag

    Hello,
    What is the diffrence between Insert Div Tag, Insert Fluid Grid Layout Div Tag and Draw AP Div?
    How to use all these three?
    Where to use all these three?
    What will be the effect in the design with these three?

    Learn CSS positioning in 10 Steps
    http://www.barelyfitz.com/screencast/html-training/css/positioning/
    Default positioning (static or unspecified) is all you need for 98% of layouts.
    "Drawing boxes" in DW is not a good way to work either. DW is not a graphics editor like Photoshop.  It's a web authoring tool.
    When you draw & move APDivs on your workspace, you remove content from the normal document flow and position them relative to the top, left corner of browser window or the nearest relatively positioned parent container.
    When you preview the page in browsers, everything falls apart.  APDivs are not a good layout approach.  Here's more on why:

  • AP Div tag's absolute postioning not working

    I have been trying to figure this problem out for about 2 hours and I have nothing. Div tags 98-101 are positioned in the right place when I'm looking at my page in Dreamweaver. But when I preview the page, those 4 div tags are not where they're supposed to be (they're in the bottom right of the page, hundreds of pixels from where they're supposed to be). Any ideas?

    I thought I was reading it wrong, but you really do have 101 AP divs on the page. I don't have the time to go through your code, but using absolutely positioned divs as the sole basis for page layout is likely to lead to massive problems. AP divs (or layers, as they used to be called) were all the rage several years ago, because people wrongly thought they would make web pages work like desktop publishing. I used them, too, until I realized they caused massive problems.
    It won't solve your current problem, I'm afraid, but I recommend that you take a look at the following page, which describes some of the problems with AP div/layers: http://apptools.com/examples/pagelayout101.php.

  • How to center apDiv nested into another apDiv

    I used an apDiv to insert the background of a site and used
    another apDiv to insert the body copy. Before locking them down,
    the background was centered in the browser window but the copy was
    everywhere but in place. I found some code online to lock down both
    apDivs and worked out well but now the site appears on the upper
    left corner, and I need it centered in the browser. Here is the
    code. Need your help desperately.
    Thanks.

    You're in deep poop already. You would never want to put
    content into an
    A/P element.
    What is it you are trying to achieve? Your code below is
    horrible....

  • Help with placement of div tags

    Hello.  I am sorry to ask what probably is a dumb question, but I'm new, using Dreamweaver CS5, and I need some help.  I'm sure I'll be posting here a few times during this process of building a new site, but I'm hoping it can be a good way for me to learn.  I've watched a lot of tutorial videos, and so here I am.
    I have my site, but I'm having problems being able to place div tags.  I set it up with a wrapper div, a header div, a content div, footer div, etc.  But, inside those divs I want to have other div's where I can place things like a client login box, etc.  So, I tried and tried to place them after one div, or before one, but I just can't get them to work right.  I'm very proficient at Photoshop, but web work is fairly new.  I've done a few sites, but in Golive and just basic bringing them in from Photoshop.  Now I want to learn correctly, so I'm trying all of this.
    I found a way to make a box, using AP Div tag, and then move that where I want it, but, it doesn't work right for me then.  I don't want it fixed in the same spot absolutely, but rather I want it to move with the page.  I'm going to post a link to the site I'm working on, in case that helps.  But, if you look at the site so far, you can see for example I want the text box that says client login to move as you make the page wider or smaller.  It's fixed now.  But, it's the only possible way I know how to put the box and div tag where I want it.  When I just try to insert a div tag (not an AP div) it just goes underneath the div above it.
    What I'm asking is, how do I place div's within div's?  Or, can I use this AP div to put it where I want, and then change it to a regular div, and it stay in the right spot?  I just don't understand how exactly to place divs where I want them, unless I use the AP div box and move it around the screen.  Also, if I have a div box setup, is there a way to drag it somewhere else or reposition it somewhere else on the screen just by dragging?  It's all a bit hard for me to figure out at this point, but I appreciate any help you can give me.
    The AP Div I used is at the top that says client login.  That's the box/table/div tag I'm trying to set up correctly, so it moves with the other elements, like the logo, as you make the page wider or less wide.

    Thank you again.

    DW is not drag & drop friendly like graphics or word processing apps.
    APDivs are NOT for primary layouts.  They are for special situations and should be handled with care or you'll end up with a mess.  Here is why:

    The best advice I can offer is to familiarize yourself with HTML markup (content) and CSS (styles) before you even open Dreamweaver.   Without a working knowledge of code, you're not going to get good results.

  • Adding a slideshow using apDivs - Will not center / clashes with images.

    Hey guys,
    I'll be as quick and to the point as possible. I'm new to Dreamweaver and am having some problems in my attempts to create a simple portfolio website.
    I'm trying to add in a basic image slide-show while making use of apDivs. I've had a look online and found some fantastic JQuery slide-shows, and I ended up adapting this one for use on my website;
    http://www.queness.com/post/923/create-a-simple-infinite-carousel-with-jquery
    I have images as the base of my website and I wanted to add the slide-show on top of them (and the same goes for a couple of embeded YouTube videos too.) I added in an apDiv and placed the code for the slide-show inside it. This created a layer that goes on top of the image, and I am able to put the code for the slide-show inside it with no problems (providing the position of the apDiv is set to absolute.)
    #apDiv1 {
        position:absolute;
        top:419px;
        left:400px;
        width:555px;
        height:480px;
        z-index:1;
    The problem I'm having is aligning the cursed thing. Obviously, setting the apDiv's positioning to absolute is a bad idea, as while it looked fine in one resolution, it doesn't in another. I've tried changing the position of the apDiv to relative, and then adding in some changes to my code;
    #apDiv1 {
        position:relative;
        width:555px;
        height:480px;
        margin-left: auto;
         margin-right:auto;
        z-index:1;
    This centers my slideshow (which is wonderful), however it is no longer layered on-top of the image (since this seems to only work when the position is set to absolute.) Instead, the slideshow appears underneath the image rather than on top.
    Is there any possible way I can keep the apDiv (which contains the slide-show) centered whilst remaining on-top of the image? Like I say, it'll layer on top of it fine when set to absolute, but wont center. When set to relative, it'll center but not layer on top. It's one or the other and I'm pulling my hair out over it at the moment.
    If anyone can give any help at all, please please let me know. I've included a notepad document including the whole of my code for the page (including my goofy comments) at the address below if it helps in any way;
    http://www.box.net/shared/5nufqc78jbg0mfkb00n5

    Of course mate. Like I mentioned before, I still don't have any of my web-pages online (since I've been trying to get it all fixed and working first.) I'm hoping to host with 1-2-3 Reg, so I'm waiting for pay day before I buy a years worth from them.
    The folder at the link below though contains the HTML document for the page along with all its images and CSS scripts;
    http://www.box.net/shared/lgqltz3i90ya8k3nyui9
    Despite them being in the folder, if you'd rather, I'll paste the main bodies HTML code below (and also the accoumpanying CSS document. If there's any problems, please let me know. Thanks again!

    Have you seen these CSS tutorials - very simple and basic and should get you used to creating CSS divs:

    and this if you create your designs in Fireworks (or even PShop) and then build the site in Dreamweaver:

    Hope this helps  :-)
