Apex 3.1.2 application export

Hi
I have 3 environments, one with apex 3.0 and two with apex 3.1.2. All of them are on 11g DB.
When I export an application (about 35pages) from apex 3.0 I get file size approx 1,8MB, but when I export same application from 3.1.2 I am getting the file size about 200KB. I made a test and imported the application back into apex 3.1.2 with different application id and found out that i get only pages with page id from 0 to 10.
I do it like this:
Home>Application Builder>Application 103>Export / Import>Export
file format: DOS
owner override: (empty)
build status.. :run and build app.
debugging: yes
exp. supp.obj. : yes
exp. comments: yes
as of: (empty)
file character set: utf-8
What I and doing wrong or missing with exporting?

On closer look I noticed that most of the downloaded file was cut off for some reason. Any ideas where to look for cutter?
I managed to export the application with SQL Developer (app.exp>export DDL>save file)

Make sure the DAD characterset is AL32UTF8.

    I exported application in UNIX and also DOS format
    Destination APEX

    User of application which loged in to import the application = UTACADMIN

    Please guide me how can i successfully migrate my application from my source APEX to this new APEX

  • How do you export an Apex Workspace along with applications?

    Hi All,
    I just wanted to get clarification here.
    I have an Apex Workspace with 10 applications and I wanted to move these to a separate server/database....So...what are the steps?
    1). Do I need to run Data pump on source and target database to import the tables , etc?? and also run the DDL commands on the utilities?
    2). Or do I just need to run the ApexExport utility to export Workspace and applications?
    please any consideration is appreciated
    thanks

    I'd say that depends on what you actually want to transfer.
    For transferring the Workspace and the Application Definitions it is sufficient to export those (using either the application builder or the ApexExport) and import on the other system.
    If you also want to transfer data you might want to look into Datapump.

  • Import file  export  instead of  application export

    Hi All
    please help
    i exported my application, now i wanted to do an import to the file
    i did import ------->
    import file : i choose the application export file
    file type : i choose instead of application,page or component export i choose by accidently :*file export*
    did NEXT -> it wrote : Successfully Imported File
    then it wrote If you wish to to Install now, click Next >.
    i did NEXt : it wrote to me in the header :Install Static Files
    logget in as : my user
    install file workspace : name of the workspace
    but i did not push the button of install static files. then i saw that this is not what i won't to do . my quetsion is did i do any harm?
    is the statis files (which i don't really know waht it is ) are sitting on the server , or in the application ? please tell me, is there anything that i need to cancel? i saw in the export ripository that it shown as static files export.
    note : as a person who develope on this application , i've never, use an import of static files.
    inspite of all this, i started to do an import for my application which the suitable file file type , and i stopped in the middle.
    i'll be grateful for a quick response!

    Hello Arie !
    thanks for quick response.
    i've choose onw of the two application which i currently have on my workspace and did what you've wrote with the share componennts -> static files , it right to me no static files. i did the same with my other application , and i got the same message, maybe i'm getting this message because i did not do the install operation ? . however share components are related to the application that i've choose and not to all the apex, right ?
    the thing that i don't get is if i get:no static files found,so why in the Export Repository i'm getting about one application export file:static file export?
    can i delete it from there ?

  • Reinstall apex without loosing the applications that you created

    Is there a way to reinstall apex without loosing the applications that I created?
    I have some apex packages that cannot be compiled
    Jules

    Jules,
    As the site administrator, export the workspaces to files. Then login to each workspace as an admin and export each of the applications to files. (You should already have these backups anyway). If you have static files, images, css, user interface defaults, or themes that you've uploaded into any workspace you'll need to export those as well.
    After you re-install, reverse the process, starting with installing the workspaces, then install the applications and other components into each worskspace.
    But why do you have to do this? What won't compile?

    How export to csv work in safari browser?
    In my application export to csv open like a raw data in new tab.
    But other browsers working great!.
    Need to open in a csv file or save it as a csv file.
    Please suggest me. Thank you in advance!.

    Hi Adrian,
    Why don't you try any another software for opening CSV files then Notepad ? According to my experience, you can use these softwares to open an CSV files and they are:-
    Microsoft Excel
    Open Office Calc
    Google Docs
    Also there is an additional tool available known as CSV viewer. You may try this, download it from here http://www.csvviewer.com/
    I've never used Notepad for opening CSV files, because sometimes it contains some symbols which are not not at all compatibile with Notepad.

  • Adobe Flash Builder availability, usability and application export for students?

    Hello!
    I'm a student from Estonia and i'm making my final paper for my graduation.
    What chances or possibilities do i have, if i want to acquire Flash Builder, make an application, export it and use it for my final paper (code tutorials in Estonian language) for free?

    Well, Adobe did have a program that gave free Flash Builder to students & teachers, but apparently it has been discontinued - sorry!
    The 30-day trial versions of Flash Builder and all other CS6 and Creative Cloud tools are still available though, if that helps.
    Adobe is also currently offering free copies of Edge Animate 1.0 for everyone (permanent versions for creating interactive & animated web content), which could serve as a nice replacement.

  • Can APEX Fit for Big Application ?

    Myself working in software development organization.
    From last one month I am working on Oracle Application Express.
    One of Our Banking Clients wants a Core Banking Solution. We have decided
    to develop an application in Oracle as backend and for web development
    (Front End) we are thinking about APEX.
    Our banking client has 10 branches located remotely.
    Each branch having 50000 customers and there is approx 1000 transaction
    daily.
    Concurrent 10 users are working.
    For core banking Solution the customer
    database size will be 50000 * 10 = 5 00 000
    Total daily transaction 1000 * 10 = 10 000
    Concurrent user 10 * 10 = 100
    Can we use APEX as a web development tool? Please specify any organization
    have developed software in Apex with such type of database.

  • Htmldb application export to ApEx

    Hi
    We are going to upgrade our htmldb 1.6 to Application Express 3.0. Since apex will be running in a new machine we have to import htmldb export file to our new apex environment. The question is, can it be done?
    Best wishes
    Kristin

    Hi Kristin,
    Yes sure...no problem at all.
    Your APEX administrator can export the workspaces (if it's important for you to maintain the same workspace information, such as cookie users etc), also you can use the APEX interface to export your individual applications, or if you have a lot of applications you can use the APEXExport command to automate the task for you.
    You can use the usual DB tools to export your schema and data, such as exp/imp, or my personal favorite datapump (if you've never used datapump, it rocks for migrating data between servers).
    I wrote a blog post about APEXExport a while ago, which you might find useful -

    Hope this helps,

  • Apex Application Export

    hi,
    Could any one let me know if we could take the complete export of the apex applications present in our workbench instead one by one. can the admin do.
    for example we have 100 apex applications in our workbench and we need to take the compete export so that we could import into a different instance. for that to work we would also be exporting our schema so that once we import the applications we can start working as we were doing earlier.
    we can export one by one which would take lot of time, So please can any one let me know if there is an option to export the complete applications in one short.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Application export issue

    Hi,
    I have exported my application from one server to my new apex installation on another server.
    Export works fine but i don't have any more my pics downloaded in images in shared components.
    Can someone tell how can i get them?
    Thx in advance.
    Celio

    dear celio,
    hope you are aware of storing images using getlob syntax which use to identify through record id. Once again I reiterate it is possible through installation script. Only problem for me is " i am browsing and replying in different location and my real apex work at home." Hence I am unable to suggest the step by step method. One other way on the invitation of oracle apex developer competition 2009 recently held, you would have noticed the procedures to export on supporting objects. you can go through that also.
    yours

  • Differences between application export files

    Hello
    Background: I want to check if an application in DEV environment is exactly the same as the one in TEST environment. Both envs have Apex version 3.0.0.00.20, on Oracle EE 10g. To do this, I exported the application from both environments and I am doing a DIFF between the export files.
    Problem: The DIFF tool is finding lots of differences like the one below:
    '   "PR_QUOTES"."HDU_NIGHT_CHARGE" "HDU_NIGHT_CHA';
    s:=s||'RGE", '||chr(10)||
    '   "PR_QUOTES"."INPATIENT_NIGHTS_ADJ" "INPATIENT_NIGHTS_ADJ", '||chr(10)||
    '   "PR_QUOTES"."HDU_NIGHT_CHARGE" "HDU_NI';
    s:=s||'GHT_CHARGE", '||chr(10)||
    '   "PR_QUOTES"."INPATIENT_NIGHTS_ADJ" "INPATIENT_NIGHTS_ADJ", '||chr(10)||As you can see, the only difference is at which point the SELECT statement was broken in the attribution statement.
    This makes the DIFF tool a bit pointless. Why does this happen? Any way to fix it?
    Thanks,
    Luis

    Hi Paul
    I am well, hope you too!
    Thanks for the reply; that comparison report works well when both applications are in the same workspace, which is not my case.
    Of course, I could import one of the applications in the other workspace and compare them there. I will do it as the last resort, but I am still curious about why the difference between the exports! :-)
    Cheers,
    Luis

  • Bug in Application Export? Globalization messages with foreign characters

    I've encountered a problem with Shared Components, Text Messages. I input some strings using Norwegian characters (øæå).
    When I export the application, the characters come out with the wrong encoding in the SQL script (and the messages display wrong when the application is imported and run).
    Here's an example:
    prompt ......Message test_nor_chars
    declare
    h varchar2(32767) := null;
    begin
    h:=h||'Test av æøå ÆØÅ hei hei';
    wwv_flow_api.create_message (
    p_id=>1700323001958037277 + wwv_flow_api.g_id_offset,
    p_flow_id=>wwv_flow.g_flow_id,
    p_name=>'TEST.NOR.CHARS',
    p_message_language=>'no',
    p_message_text=>h);
    null;
    end;
    The string
    'Test av æøå ÆØÅ hei hei'
    should be (was entered as, and displays in the Apex builder as)
    'Test av æøå ÆØÅ hei hei'
    I thought this was a problem with my local database, but I was able to reproduce this on apex.oracle.com as well.
    Is this a bug, or just me doing something wrong?
    - M

    >
    Why is this? I really have no idea. I've seen a lot of globalization issues, but this one just seems like an underlying database bug, and certain manipulation of an in-memory CLOB. I'll take a look at it further, but hopefully this workaround (by specifying a dummy application attribute with Norwegian characters) can at least get you going.Hi Joel,
    thanks for looking into this. I did as you suggested and put some Norwegian characters into the Application Comments section. I then exported the application and the characters did not get corrupted in the export file.
    However, when I import the application from the file (using SQL Developer's "Import Application..." menu item) into another database, the strings end up with corrupted characters in the database. This happens both for the Application Comment (which I can see in flows_030100.wwv_flow_banner) and the messages (flows_030100.wwv_flow_message$) which have Norwegian characters. This is strange, as it looks OK in the export script, but ends up wrong in the database when the script is run...
    I tried the same at apex.oracle.com (exported app id = 52885 and imported it as app id = 63067), and it seems to be okay there. There is an option when you import an application through the web interface to select character set (which defaults to UTF-8, I used this). This choice is not available when importing through SQL Developer. Could this be relevant?
    (The reason I use SQL Developer to import the app is because the server has a runtime-only installation of Apex.)
    Would appreciate if you could look further into this. Thanks,
    - Morten

  • Apex :run and build application

    HI ,
    While exporting apex application from test to prod i gave build status override as run and build application instead of run application only.and then i imported
    i this case according to my knowledge user can run as well as can make changes ....
    is it possible to revert it to run only ....
    if yes how ...
    thanks in advance....

    Yes, from the main screen after logging into workspace, look for "*Manage Services*" link. Under Manage Services, find Manage Application Build Status. There, you can convert application between Run and Build Application to Run Application only and vice versa.
