Apex4 bug: 'URL Target' textarea of button definition

Hi,
at Page Definition page when listing button definitions using prev/next buttons and sticking with 'Condition' section view only, 'URL Target' textarea ( 'Action When Button Clicked' section ) doesn't preserve its size.
Thanks

Tom -
I assume this is the prior post you where talking about : https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2401714
However, this doesn't cover my problem. I have tried all the follow, and they all break export / import and copy functionality due to mismatched quotes:
collapse_all($v(P2130_TREE_ID));
collapse_all($v('P2130_TREE_ID'));
collapse_all($v("P2130_TREE_ID"));
collapse_all('&P2130_TREE_ID.');
collapse_all("&P2130_TREE_ID.");
These all allow the collapse button to work.
NOW, if I change my ID tag to be something like 'P_SCOTT_TREE' then everything works just fine (import/export/copy). It's having a number in the tag that is cause the problems because the export is casting it to_char and somehow throwing in an extra quote.
Thanks,
Scott

• URL target on a button. What is the syntax??

I can't for the life of me fine any references to the syntax for the URL target attribute of a button. What is it?
I need to execute a javascript function prior to leaving the page via a button. Do I place its call in the URL target? I actually want to redirect to a page in the current application but there is no place to create 'additional link attributes' like in a column link.
any help appreciated.
regards
Paul P

Paul,
I may have a work around for you. Here are the steps I took to call a function and then branch to another page.

Create a 'Display as Text' item, do not enter a label value and select 'No Label' for the template option.

In the Pre Element Text area insert an opening anchor tag with the following text href="javascript:function()" replace 'function' with the actual name of the function you would like to call and enter any parameters.

In post element text close your anchor tag.

NOTE for steps 2 and 3 you can also inclue an img tag to make the display item appear to be a button. Otherwise you can enter any text in the default value and that is your link.

In the very last line of your function add the folowing text: doSubmit('NewPage');

Create a page branch and set the page attribute to the desired page. ex. 160

Set its condition to"Request = Expression 1"and enter the text "NewPage" for Expression 1

This will call your function and then the submit at the end of the function will trigger the branch to a new page.
Let me know if it helps or if you could find a better way.

• URL Target to https internal site?

Hi,
I have a button with a URL Target to an internal php server. I want to call this server using https. This is the only way the server people will allow. I have done this using http before. But with the url https, I can't get the page. We use version 3.1.1.00.09
I'm not a dba so any suggestion on what needs to be changed would be greatly appreciated.

• How to set target to Play button on begining DVD

Man you dont use this program for a few months and you gotta take a course on it all over again.
Ive completely forgotten how to set the PLAY button to activate at the beginning of the DVD. As in I was burning several DVDs and I tested them on my computer, and they worked fine. But the whole time I was using my mouse to navigate (I only put in one button "PLAY"). When at one point I happened to use the DVD navigator I realized I hadnt set it for a stand alone. So while if you watched it on a computer and were using your mouse you could hit the play button. But on a stand alone you cant get to it with a remote.
I remember it being a simply thing, but for the life of me I cant figure it out. HELP!

So are you talking about moving between the buttons on a menu screen (i.e. navigation in the menu) or are you saying you can't get the button to activate any video? Or both?
The first issue is sorted out with the 'Settings' drop down box and choosing 'assign buttons now' or 'auto assign buttons' (but this slows down the menu creation and gets really frustrating at times). You should then be able to get to the menu (which will have the first button highlighted and ready by default) and then use the handset to move from button to button.
The second bit is setting the target for the button - where it goes to once you select and activate it. Open up your menu in DVDSP and click on the buttons in turn. Look in the property inspector for the 'target' and make sure that each button is going where you intend.
Alternatively, use the connections tab - this is far faster, IMO, but is slightly more abstract in concept...
If you have done these things and you still cannot get to the button using the remote control then there is something else wrong - it could be that you simply forgot to create a button but have the text there ready... without the button rectangle being drawn out over the text (or next to it) there will be no button and no way to activate anything.

• URL mapping config for Experience Definition rule

Hello,
I have a question regarding the configuration of url mappings for experience definitions. Here is our scenario:
We have 2 experience definitions that allow us to localize the guest user experience when a user hits the portal for the first time. We need to setup 2 rules that are based on url so that if a user comes from one url they get the English definition and the other url gives the French definition.
This portal will be access by outside users and we cannot have two different domain or sub-domain names in order to differentiate the 2 urls. We’ve been told that it is possible to setup a system so that 2 different context url can resolve to the actual portal url so that the portal sees the different url values and serves up the proper experience def.
So basically I am asking for a somewhat detailed explanation of how to configure it so we have one of the following 2 setups (whichever one is possible):
English url = http://www.domain.ca/portal/en/server.pt
French url = http://www.domain.ca/portal/fr/server.pt
OR
English url = http://www.domain.ca/portal/en.pt
French url = http://www.domain.ca/portal/fr.pt
And both of these urls would map to the same portal at http://www.domain.ca/portal/server.pt (not directly accessible from outside)
We have the portal deployed via Websphere 6.1 on AIX and using IBM HTTP server.
Any help regarding how to configure app server, web server, portal would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Richard

• Cisco 69xx missed calls as service URL at a feature button

Hi,
can anybody help me to use "Missed Calls" as a service URL (Standard IP phone service) at a Cisco 6941 at a feature button?
Referring to this thread (https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/1003641) it should work at a Cisco 69xx phone.
I just copied the phone service "Missed Calls" and changed "directory" to "Standard-IP-phoneservice".
The service URL I don`t changed and it`s still "Application:Cisco/MissedCalls".
When I try to use this copied phone service at a Cisco 6941 as a URL at a feature button next to the line-button I always get back a XML-error.
Is the service URL "Application:Cisco/MissedCalls" still correct when I try to use Missed calls as a Standard IP phoneservice?
The load at the Cisco 6941 is SIP 9.3.3.2.
I also tried SCCP instead of SIP but it`s still not working.
BR
Michael

I think I found something. I tried it on CIPC - SCCP, nothing was displayed on the Phone when the button was pressed. Testing with other phone models now.
Here are the instructions if someone else is also intrested:
Adding an IP Phone Service to a Phone Button If you want to do so, you can assign the service to a phone button (a speed dial button) that is configured as a service URL. By default, the IP phone service can display under the Directory, Message, or Services button/options on the phone, depending on your configuration in the IP Phone Services Configuration window, so you only need to add an IP phone service to a phone button if you want the service to display as a speed dial. You can only perform this procedure for IP phone services that are not marked as enterprise subscriptions. Perform the following steps to add a service to a service URL button. Procedure
Add the service to Cisco Unified Communications Manager (see IP Phone Service Configuration Settings).
Customize a phone button template by configuring a Service URL button (see the "Phone Button Template Configuration Settings" section on page 73-1).
Add the customized phone button template to the phone (see the "Configuring Cisco Unified IP Phones" section on page 67-30).
Subscribe the service to the phone (see the "Configuring IP Phone Services" section on page 67-35).
Add the service URL to a phone button (see the "Configuring Service URL Buttons" section on page 67-38).

• Copy button definition

hi all.
here's a question for you.
imagine i have a world map in indesign, all countries are single objects/ploylines.
now, i would like to convert these into interactive buttons, add the same rollover, down and up status to all objects (i.e. same colors), for further export into pdf. is there any way to do this automatically, to copy past the button definition from one to others? or do i have to do this for each object (== country)?
regards from tokyo.

What version of ID?
IIRC, this was broken in CS3.

• TARGET="_blank" in button URL?

I have a printing servlet I want to call from a button. This works fine, but I need the link to open in new browser window, where the pdf can be shown. I have tried this for button URL:
http://wmsi001494/rapportServlet/rapport?skemaId=&P71_SKEMA_ID. TARGET="_blank"
But this does not work. Does anybody know how to get it working?
Regards Pete

I tried popupURL, popUp2, and window.open javascripts to open a window using a button. They work fine with HTML pages but fail when I try to open a PDF file.
The URL I'm using to open the PDF references a function I created following the HOW TOs (e.g. download_my_file?p_file=#ID#). The only alteration I made to the HOW TO download function was to open the file instead of downloading (Content-Disposition: inline instead of attachment).
Has anyone else had this problem or found a way to open a PDF file that is stored in the database into a new window using a button instead of a link? I should also mention that if I use a link (e.g. href="...download_my_file?p=file#ID#') it works, it just doesn't work if I have to use Javascript to open the file in a window.
I really need to use a button instead of a link, but can't figure out how to make it work!
Forgot to mention, the error message reads:
"There was an error opening this document. This file cannot be found." It's an Adobe Acrobat error, but it opens fine when opened with a standard link.
Thanks,
~Dan

• How can I open a URL from a Custom Button in a second help window?

I have a custom button, which currently opens a URL in a web
browser, using a redirect page. How can I change this so that it
opens in a second help window instead? If I understand some of the
posts I've read, it is possible by linking the button to a related
topics function but I've no idea how this is done.
As usual, your help is most appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Hi, ecoulyn,
You need to make a topic file like the one below the target
of the Jump button.
The onLoad function on the Body start-tag causes the Related
Topics command to fire when the topic file is loaded in the topic
pane. When specifying the file name of the topic to display in the
secondary window, you must always prepend it with the name of your
.chm file, followed by "::/". Otherwise, an error message appears
when the Jump button is clicked.

• URL/ BSP application in button

Hi,
I am doing BSPs, the requirement is that if I press a button, I should get a new BSP application in a new window.
Does any one know how to do it!
Regards,
Bharat

Hi,
First of all you define a javascript that's called when clicking on the button:
function openapp()
LOV = open("empty.htm","apppopup","location=0,scrollbars=yes,toolbar=no, dependent=yes, screenX=50,left=50,screenY=50,top=50,height=450,resizable=no,width=450,status=no,menubar=0");
document.popupform.submit();
add a form like this

The inputprocessing looks like
CASE event_id.
WHEN 'newapp'.
CONCATENATE '/sap/bc/bsp/sap/someapp?paramx=' variablex ' INTO go_page.
navigation->goto_page( go_page ).
ENDCASE.
Alternatively, you can pass the URL in the javascript open statement directly.

• URL Target - conditions on javascript:confirmDelete()

Is it possible to change the text of the confirmDelete() dialog that pops up when the user clicks 'Submit' button?
Before submitting the form the user will either click BUTTON A and continue completing the fom in one way, OR
click BUTTON B and complete the form differently.
Both buttons rely on their own requests to do what they need to do
BUTTON A = :REQUEST = 'SUBMIT'
BUTTON B = :REQUEST = 'DISPLAY'
When the user hits 'Submit' at the end, I want the message to do one of the following:
javascript:confirmDelete('You're updating with BUTTON A', 'REQUEST');OR
javascript:confirmDelete('You're updating with BUTTON B', 'REQUEST');Is somethign like this possible? As always, TIA.

Okay, so I'm not sure what my arguments should be. Here's what I've got:
Buttons
(copied from page definition)
5 Revision Redirect to page 51 - Button Request = 'SUBMIT'
10 Version Redirect to page 51 Button Request = 'DISPLAY'
Items
:P51_REVISION
:P51_VERSION
1. User clicks REVISION and :P51_REVISION item is incremented (i.e., F-100 to F-100A) OR User clicks VERSION and :P51_VERSION item is incremented (i.e., F-100A to F-100Av1)
2. :P51_VERSION remains null OR :P51_REVISION remains null
3. User completes updates to rest of form
4. User hits SUBMIT button
5. confirmDelete message pops up
_1. Based on the above, I'm not understanding what my arguments (someValue, someValue2) should be_
function determineButton(somevalue1,somevalue2)
if ($v(somevalue)==$v(somevalue2)) //or whatever your condition needs to be
javascript:confirmDelete("You're updating with BUTTON A", 'BUTTON_A');
else
javascript:confirmDelete("You're updating with BUTTON B", 'BUTTON_B');
}_2. Do :P1_SOMEITEM and :P1_SOMEOTHERITEM correspond to :P51_REVISION and :P51_VERSION?_
In your URL that executes:
javascript:determineButton("P1_SOMEITEM","P1_SOMEOTHERITEM");

• (BUG with) - Targeted Adjustment Tool

The Targeted Adjustment tool will stop functioning after I use the magnifier.
When I attempt to use the tool, it only functions as a magnify glass.
When I quit Lightroom and relaunch it, it restores the Targeted Adjustment tool back to a functioning state.
One thing that may be triggering the bug is that I often use the photoshop keyboard commands for magnify +/- out of my 15 year habit with that tool, and it works in Lightroom too, but is this causing the Targeted Adjustment tool to suffer?

I think I also see this now (and a work-around).
I did the following:
1. Open Lightroom and go to Develop.
2. Select the Target Adjustment Tool (like tone curve).
3. Press (and hold) Spacebar, while holding that down, press (and hold) command
4. Click to zoom in.
5. Release the spacebar, then release the command. The cursor still shows a hand with the move-around and zoom functionality. Clicking the Target Adjustment circle in the Tone Curve box does not restore adjustment functionality.
Workaround:
6. Now press (and release) Spacebar. The target adjustment works now.
It appears that Lightroom does not recognize any spacebar commands while the command key is being held down. I can't enter zoom mode by holding command and then holding spacebar, and I can't exit zoom mode by releasing spacebar while command is down. In this case, it seems that pressing and releasing spacebar afterwards (when command is not down) sends the "spacebar-up" command and Lightroom gets out of the zoom mode.
Note that I can't get this to happen with any other ordering of presses/releases.
Does this help? I agree that this definitely is a bug. Now that we've narrowed it down, how do we forward this on to Adobe? Is someone reading this that can forward this on?

• BUG: URL /apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server error

Hi all,
I have a page with 3 regions:
- pl/sql(javascript, html)
- chart
- html(form)
Everything works fine until I add a html table to my pl/sql region.
When I do this I can't create any records anymore(html form).
When I press the create button on the html form it results in:
The requested URL /apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server.
When I delete the html table on my pl/sql region, the create button works fine.
It seems like somekind of bug, is there a way to get around this.
Thanx,
Pim

Hi,
When I add (in the pl/sql region with htp.p procedure)the code below:

Adres

Land

The create button on the third(html_form) will result in the error.
I did some more tests, it's the button in the above table which causes the error. When I delete the button all is OK. It seems that the dynamic html button has somekind of conflict with the form(html region) button. When I replace the table with a form it makes no difference.
The reason why I'm doing this, is that I need button on the page which doesn't do a 'dosubmit' (page reload). In a standard htmldb button there's always a 'dosumbit' present. I posted another thread, which confirmed this.
Thanx,
Pim

• URL Target from logo

I have a logo set up in the application definition but I'm struggling to see how you control the target URL for it. I want it simply to point to the application home page (f?p=&APP_ID.:1) and some of the packaged apps that I've downloaded from the Oracle website do just this. However, on my app hovering over the logo just gives the URL of the page and session the app is currently on. I must be missing something v obvious ...
Thanks
Simon

Hi,
You could do something like:
<a href="f?p=&APP_ID.:1:&SESSION.">
<img src="#OWNER#.DISPLAY_IMAGE?inID=1" height="50" width="50" />
</a>This is what I have done here: [http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=267:79]
The image source for this example is from a custom table and display via a custom procedure - just replace this with your own source.
