How to set target to Play button on begining DVD

Man you dont use this program for a few months and you gotta take a course on it all over again.
Ive completely forgotten how to set the PLAY button to activate at the beginning of the DVD. As in I was burning several DVDs and I tested them on my computer, and they worked fine. But the whole time I was using my mouse to navigate (I only put in one button "PLAY"). When at one point I happened to use the DVD navigator I realized I hadnt set it for a stand alone. So while if you watched it on a computer and were using your mouse you could hit the play button. But on a stand alone you cant get to it with a remote.
I remember it being a simply thing, but for the life of me I cant figure it out. HELP!

So are you talking about moving between the buttons on a menu screen (i.e. navigation in the menu) or are you saying you can't get the button to activate any video? Or both?
The first issue is sorted out with the 'Settings' drop down box and choosing 'assign buttons now' or 'auto assign buttons' (but this slows down the menu creation and gets really frustrating at times). You should then be able to get to the menu (which will have the first button highlighted and ready by default) and then use the handset to move from button to button.
The second bit is setting the target for the button - where it goes to once you select and activate it. Open up your menu in DVDSP and click on the buttons in turn. Look in the property inspector for the 'target' and make sure that each button is going where you intend.
Alternatively, use the connections tab - this is far faster, IMO, but is slightly more abstract in concept...
If you have done these things and you still cannot get to the button using the remote control then there is something else wrong - it could be that you simply forgot to create a button but have the text there ready... without the button rectangle being drawn out over the text (or next to it) there will be no button and no way to activate anything.

  • How to set Shortcut keys for button in Apex

    Hi
    Could anyone help me on how to set shortcut keys for buttons in Apex.
    I need to use say ALT + S to submit the page.
    The following thread pertaining to HTML DB refered to use ACCESS key. but that couldnt work in my case.
    Re: operation of the app. with the keyboard
    Any pointers on achieving this would be helpful.
    Thanks
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay,
    I’m afraid you must do it using javascript key listener. You can’t use action() on template based buttons because they are actually not HTML buttons but images with hyperlink.
    Key listener checks which key has been pressed down and invoke some JS function. For example, write this code in page header:
    <script>
    document.onkeydown=keyCheck;
    function keyCheck(e){
         var KeyId = (window.event) ? event.keyCode : e.keyCode;
         switch(KeyId){
              case 113:
                   doSubmit('SAVE');
                   break;
              case 118:
                   alert('Hello');
                   break;
    </script>
    This script will submit page with request 'SAVE' if you press F2 or will show alert message if you press F7. Modify it to your issue.

  • How do I stop audio play button in embedded plugins from starting without being clicked?

    I am trying to used embedded audio plugins in my podcasts which are posted weekly. But when I add a new plugin each week it starts playing as soon as one clicks on the site. I can have six programs playing at once. How do I set the parameters so that one must first click on the play button for them to start playing?

    That's bad. Really bad. And I can understand how you might get complaints about that.
    For HTML5, the way you insert audio is this way:
    <audio autoplay="autoplay" controls="controls">
       <source src="podcast.ogg" />
       <source src="podcast.mp3" />
    </audio>
    You also have to make sure that your .htaccess file does know about ogg files and I assume you have done that.
    In the case of my example above, take out the autoplay="autoplay" that will cause the audio to not play when you load the web page.
    Now, you didn't say if you're using Flash or some older means of putting your podcasts on your website, so I've just given you the HTML5 information, which is what I am currently using for audio on the web.

  • How to set ID to a button inside a ToggleButtonBar?

    There's a ToggleButtonBar element, populated from a ViewStack. I need to set IDs to individual buttons (this is needed for QA automation).
    How do I do this?

    Hi Ridcully,
    Why do you require to set button ids for the ToggleButtonBar...?
    If at all you want to get a reference to any button within the ToggleButtonBar you can get by using the getChildAt() method and you an perform the opertaions on it.
    Say if your ToggleButtonBar id="selector" then you can get a reference to any button by using below kine of code...
    var btn:Button = selector.getChildAt(index) as Button;
    Check out the below example...In which I am getting a reference to the button clicked in ToggleButtonBar.
    You can also see in the below example the name of button clicked coming in an Alert.
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <mx:Application
    xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml">

    private function clickHandler(event:ItemClickEvent):void {myTA.text=
    "Selected button index: " + String(event.index) +
    "\n" + "Selected button label: " + event.label;
    var btn:Button = selector.getChildAt(event.index) as Button;Alert.show(selector.name);

    Can't seem to find out how to do this: I've imported a Flash

    Brilliant, works like a charm. Thanks very much, Nickels55!
    Is there a way I can add something like your
    "vidcontrol._visible=
    false;" to the "Mojaveexternalall.swf" skin as well? Right
    now if I
    click on the big arrow, everything works fine, but if I click
    on the
    Mojaveexternalall's small Play arrow instead, that new button
    layer
    doesn't disappear.

  • How do I get my "play" button to work on my bluetooth keyboard?

    I am using a Mid 2010 21.5" iMac running Mountain Lion. I recently had my HDD replaced by Apple because of the recent 1TB Segate Drive recall and now I cannot use my pause/play, skip, and back buttons on my apple wireless keyboard. I can use them as function keys but nothing else. I can change the brightness and change the sound using the keyboard but I cannot skip or pause a song or video or anything like that except for using a mouse and clicking on the next button or using my iPhone as a remote which only goes so far. I have tried using multiple programs, iTune, DVD Player, VLC Player and all are not able to be controlled by the keyboard and yes I made sure this programs were on top. This also holds true for expose. I am sure this simply has to be a simple setting somewhere but I am not sure where it would be. The only like setting that I saw was looking for was changing it so I need to use the function button every time I want to use a function like the sound or expose. I tried with this both on and off but can't get it to recognize the play functions. I have updated my bluetooth keyboard firmware but no luck. I have also changed the batteries twice to verify this was not the issue.

  • How do I create a play button for movie clip using AS3

    Hello.
    Bit new to this and have been searching the adobe forums and google. I am trying to create a button that will play an imported MovieClip.
    I have a movie clip that I've imported into it's own layer (Layer1) Frame 1.  I've given the MovieClip an instance name of foundationMovie.
    I've created a button and have that on its own layer(Layer2) above layer1, it is also in Frame 1.
    I've added a
    stop (); action to layer2
    The video is not set to autoplay.
    I want the video to start playing when the viewer clicks the button.  I know I've got to put some kind of event listener using AS3 in my timeline somewhere.
    I've found some code and I've been trying to work with it.  I'm sure I've mutilated it beyond usability but this is what I've got.
    stop ();
    player.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,play);
    function play(event:MouseEvent)
    gotoAndPlay("foundationMovie");
    If someone could point me the right direction or help me with my code I would really appreciate it.  Thanks.

    First, you need to clear up what you are working with... a movieclip and a video are usually entirely different things.
    Next, your code may get you started on your way with some changes.   You shouldn't use "play" as a function name due to there already being a play() method/function in Flash.
    If the movieclip is a movieclip and has an instance name of "foundationMovie", and your button has an instance name of "player" then the following adjusted code would normally work...
    stop ();
    player.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,playMovie);
    function playMovie(event:MouseEvent)
         foundationMovie.play();

    Hi Murali,
    It seems that the problem is with your browser where you are running your page. Check that the Arabic font is installed on your web browser and your system.

    I did, andd while that did help to center the image on the page, now all my measurements are coming out about 4 times too small.  I'm also worried that changing the resolution might cause the image to lose some data due to resizing.
    What exactly does changing the resolution do?  Why does this center things?  How can I calculate points so that they exactly touch the edge of the document?

  • How do I assign the play button on my remote control

    I made a simple menu with two buttons and it activates the buttons when I select using arrows and push enter, but not when I push play. I would like to be able to start the movie by pushing play as well. Thank you to anyone who can help me!
    Juli Kang

    Open up your menu and then select the menu.
    Then go to the advanced tab and see what buttons you can enable or disable for the remote. Look under "playback control", "stream selection", "menu call", and "button".
    If you have everything enabled, and it doesnt work, then it is just your player.
    I am pretty sure it just depends on the player you have.
    If hitting play doesnt start the track, then you are just barred i guess with that player. Try another player to see if it works.
    Read the manual as well to see what it says.
