API configuration folder/file

Hi there!
When we develop an API client, how does he know that he has to read the server properties from the xlConfig.xml within the config folder?
Is it specified somewhere or is defined by default...
I wanted to provide different building environments from the same client...
thanks in advance!

Hi Johnny,
when you run the API as per:
Note 457649.1 Getting started with OIM API's using Eclipse
you specify the property -DXL.HomeDir. The xlConfig.xml is taken relative to this value.
That is XL.HomeDir/config/xlConfig.xml
So, you will need to change that property when you run the API.

  • Resource file in configuration folder

Hi, I've run into a slight problem with Dreamweaver the other day. I was moving the icon and it accidentally was dropped into the trash.
I took the icon out and have it in the Dock again, but I can't get the icon back into the Creative Suite folders for some reason.
Now everytime I try to load Dreamweaver--from the Dock or the icon that I have on the Desktop it gives me the same error.
"Could not locate the Resources file in the Configuration folder.
This file is required to run Dreamweaver. Please reinstall the application."
And now I'm puzzled and lost as to what to do to get Dreamweaver up and running again.
    I'm running CS5 and on a Mac. 10.6.8 version.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Never mind. I was plying around with it again and figured it out. I had to move the actual file from the desktop into the application folders via finder. And now it works perfectly.

Do you receive this error message during the install process?  I would recommend reviewing your installation log files.  You can locate steps on how to accomplish this at Troubleshoot installation with install logs | CS3, CS4 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-installation-install-logs-cs3.html.

  • Need Help! "Could not locate the resource file in the Configuration folder."

I had just purchased and installed Adobe Crerative Design Suite last night. Every program works except Dreamweaver, which gives me the error message:"Could not locate the resource file in the Configuration folder. This File is required to run Dreamweaver. Please reinstall the application". I am suspicious because the was a previous version of Dreamweaver on the computer before this installation, but I unistalled it. I do not understand why I get this message. Is there a file somewhere that is missing or at faut. How can I remedy this? Thanks
    ~Todd

    Nadia,
    Your posted resources worked for me. Thank you! After many attempts (to include Adobe's overseas call canter) to resolve the same installation and run errors, I used your suggested steps and I finally have a clean and running install. I did have to take a few extra steps;
First I downloaded both Cleaning  scripts. For CS4 & CS3.
Next I downloaded Windows installer/cleaner. I have Windows Vista Home Premium and that is a required installed program to run Adobe's cleaning script.
Once I was sure I had all the programs/scripts I needed (per your instructions and the instructions found on the Cleaning scripts site) I disconnected my computer from the Internet.
Then I disabled all running programs especially all Anti-virus and firewall programs and any others that have calls of any kind: i.e. Boinc (Seti), Skype, email programs (Windows Live Mail), etc.
Next I uninstalled all CS4 products and even though I was told that Macromedia Studio MX 2004 can stay installed (read that on one site and the overseas Tech also reinforced that information) I uninstalled MX 2004.
I then rebooted and installed the Windows installer/cleaner program and ran the Adobe CS4 cleaner script twice.
After another reboot I installed Dreamweaver CS4 first, rebooted (can't reboot enough with Windows!) and, yes you guessed it, rebooted.
I then attempted to open Dreamweaver CS4 and for the first time it ran without the error!
I then installed Adobe Ps CS4 and rebooted and that work for the first time as well.
I can't say for sure if Macromedia Studio MX 2004 caused the install errors on the Adobe products but without it and ALL that uninstalling and rebooting and running cleaning scripts and installing and rebooting, Adobe finally felt my computer was clean enough to call it home and work.
Thank you again for your information and I suggest if anyone else finds their way here that they follow your instructions to the letter. Takes a long time but a proper and clean install will be the result.

  • "Could not locate the Resources file in the Configuration folder"

While opening DW cs5 on my iMac OS X 10.7.5 a window came up that says:  "Could not locate the Resources file in the Configuration folder. This file is required to run Dreamweaver. Please reinstall the application."
After downloading and reinstalling Adobe Creative Suite CS5 yesterday per the instruction of Adobe tech support, the application still had the same message when I attempt to open it.  Not sure where else to turn.  Please advise.  Thanks

  • Css file  in dreamweaver configuration folder?

while working with a dreamweaver page im getting messages asking me if I want to save a css file located in my dreamweaver configuration folder.
this is somewhat disconcerting as I have never saved anything to that folder.
Is this issue a problem and if so what can I do to resolve it?
    Thank you.

I think you can safely ignore this message.  I'm not sure why you are getting it, but it refers to a temporary file, perhaps created when you did a browser preview.

  • Locating the CD Configuration Folder

I recently upgraded and moved my iTunes and music folder into a new remote hard drive to save myself the worry should my laptop ever be stolen.
However, during the process I apparently copied the file folders incorrectly and "iTunes cannot locate the CD Configuration folder, so you cannot import or burn CDs and DVDs. This folder must be in the same directory as iTunes."
I have found and put the Config folder into the same directory as iTunes with no result.
I have also attempted to repair iTunes in my remote drive by downloading a new version (though this goes straight to my laptop's c: drive.
    Any suggestions?

  • Configuring Help Files

    Hi everyone,
I would like to modify some of the help files that come out-of-the-box with Identity Manager.
The help files are contained within idm.jar. Is it best practice to go
into these files and change them directly? Or is there an alternative
way to do this? I believe you may be able to place them into
IDMDirectory/WEB-INF/classes directory and manipulate them from there - however, despite the changes made here being displayed on the screen, an exception is shown on stdout stating no help file is available for this page.
    Has anyone done this before?

I tried to do this as you suggested, configuring a file and then placing it in the doc folder within the idm directory. I also tried placing the whole com directory but this didn't work.
Have you tried this previously? Any other suggestions?

Could any one help in solving this issue.
    Regards,
    Sravanthi

    Hi Chiluveru Sravanthi
According to the documentation, there is a difference between the path syntax for the repository manager and the network path. Did you pay attention to this difference when doing your configurations?
    Network paths (Network Path)
Specifies the path to the Windows remote server.
The path consists of the IP address of the Windows remote server, and a path specification.
    For example,
    192.168.0.1share
Alternatively, you can enter the UNC name and path of the server, for example,
    servershare.
SAP recommends that you specify the IP address, since you can then check the availability of the server more easily, using the ping command.
Note: It is not sufficient to enter the server name alone. Specifications in the form of c$ cannot be resolved either.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/63/7f283ac3d7c54b94964931fa1b4ed9/frameset.htm
File System Repository Manager (Root Directory)
This denotes the path to the root directory in the file system to which the repository manager is assigned.
If you want to integrate documents from a Windows system, this can be a drive letter (followed by a colon) or directory path on the local server or a remote server share (for example, //myserver/myshare/somedir).
If you are running your portal on UNIX and want to access the file system on another UNIX host, you must mount the required directory on the portal server.
Example path when using a UNIX system:
    /usr/company/share
The repository manager is responsible for the specified directory and all its subdirectories.
Note that multiple repository manager configurations are not allowed to have the same subpath in their Localroot parameter.

  • Cannot locate cd configuration folder???????

when i open i tunes i get a message saying 'itunes cannot locate cd configuration folder, it should be in the same directory as itunes. you will not be able to import or burn cds and dvds'. I have no idea what this folder is and i dont know how it could have moved.
Can anyone help fix this please?????

"iTunes cannot locate CD Configuration folder, so you cannot import or burn CDs and DVDs. This folder must be in the same directory as iTunes."
    experimental advice coming up.
that folder should be in the C:\Program Files\iTunes\ folder. can you see it in there?
if so, while itunes is closed, try dragging that folder to the desktop. reboot the PC and do a repair install of itunes. go into your Add/Remove, select iTunes, click "Change" and click "Repair".
does a new CD Configuration folder get generated? if so, does iTunes launch without the error message?

  • Spry_menubar.js missing from the DW CS4 Configuration folder

Dreamweaver CS4 reports that spry_menubar.js missing from the DW CS4 Configuration folder (specifically, missing from the Inspectors sub-folder).
Can someone please point to a link wherefrom this can be downloaded, and so replaced?
    Thanks in advance, Dan

Thanks so much for the answer.
It appears that SpryMenuBar.js may be different from the missing Configuration file, spry_menubar.js.  I am hopeful that we can resolve this and, if different, learn where to download the correct .js file.
(Another configuration file was recently missing.  A search brought up an Adobe download.  So far, no such link has become available for this missing file, hence this query to the Forum.)
    Again thanks, Dan

just doublechecking something here. are you saying you cut and pasted all the itunes program files from one drive to another? (the ones that normally live in C:\Program files\iTunes\?)
