Application error while generating PDF form

Hello there,
I am getting the message "Application error while generating PDF form" and when you hover it has additional information Message Class HREIC_APPL - Message number 258.
I get this upon doing the following steps:
1. Enter SAP R3, enter HREIC on the transaction code input.
2. Enter EIC, Activity Search. Searched for an Activity, selected it and click the "PRINT" button.
3. After clicking the PRINT button, I get the error message "Application error while generating PDF form".
Installed this on development box, did the same configuration in test system, but still I get this error. ADS Configuration is working fine and configured fine.
Is there anything else that is needed to be checked? like Ports, Firewalls, etc?

Be sure that the RFC name is "ADS" and not anything else.

Best web browser for submitting PDF forms

Is there a preferred web browser for submitting PDF forms, or can recipients submit the form via any of the common browers like Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.?

I don't know that is a huge number of alternatives for Fractal plugins. You'll no doubt come across links for Fractalius and Genuine Fractals, but the first produces interesting strand like effects (after a very long wait) and the second is an image resize plugine which now belongs to On One, and is sold as Perfect Resize. And even that has been made irrelevant by the Preserve Details upres option in CC.
You are alos wize to be careful. Previous trusable sites like cnet on softonic are a nightmare nowdays, and too many of the free apps you find on them come loaded with malware. Some of it _serious_ malware DAMHIKIJKOK
But have a look at Fractal Explorer. I don't have experience with it, but it comes with the Pixel Bender name behind it, which is like a badge of excellence.

Does Adobe provide a free API for creating PDF files

Does Adobe provide a free API (for Windows) for creating PDF files?   We are currently using
a basic, internally developed API for creating PDF files, but would like some additional
capabilities ... in particular the ability to add a watermark that appears when printing
but not when viewing PDF files on-line.
If this is not the right forum for this question, please let me know what forum would be
appropriate.

OK, with a little bit of searching on Adobe's web site, I found the answer to my question.   Yes, Adobe does offer
an API for creating/manipulating/reading PDF files: it's called the Adobe PDF Library SDK and it has to be
licensed. Version 9 is the latest.   The cost is decided on a case-by-case basis.    Here is the link:

Hi,
We believe instead of using IMPORT_COUNTREQUEST API you can use a Dataload script to key in data in Physical Inventory form.
Basically you need to populate 4 fields in this form, i.e Physical Inventory, Date, Description & Snapshot Complete (checkbox).
Go ahead and write a Dataload script for the same.

Using FOP for generating PDF report

Hi,
I followed the otn article for generating pdf files uing FOP.
But I was unable to do so. When I debugged it I found that when the javascript tries to get the XMLFO output from htmldb it gets a blank xml output. I tried to use the exact same url the java script uses ( I got the url by using alerts in java script) I got back an empty xml file.
I am using htmldb 2.0 on 9.2.0.5.
Can any one point me to the right direction

Hi,
I am using iAS 1.0.2.2.2 (Jserv) it is an Oracle Applications Environment.
I finished the whole note.
1. Downloaded the FOP jar files.
2. Unzipped the jar files in the JAVA_TOP of the Applications environment
3. JAVA_TOP is already in the class path of the jserv
4. Added the jsp file to the correct directory
5. Created the htmdb application with the java script
6. I put some debugging alerts in the java script
Now when I click on the pdf link I don't get any output. Because of the debugging statement in the java script I was able to figure out that the java script is not getting any output when it calls back the htmldb for the XML FOP outout.
I finally tried the URL which the java script uses directly. It came back with an empty xml file.

Latvian Language support for generated PDF's with FPDF module for PHP

Hello !
I have a problem with Adobe Reader for Android. I am working with online PDF creation with PHP module named FPDF.
With FPDF module for PHP you can create PDF's online.
The problem is that - when generated PDF appears on phone it doesn't show Latvian language ( cp1257 or ISO-8859-13 for example ). For example - "ŗķļņž" and "ŖĶĻŅŽ" is shown with other symbols.
However opening the same file with standart app "Polaris Office" - the text is show as it used to be, without problem.
Strange bug, that i can't fix from PHP ( Tried a lot of decodes and encodes ). Also i have saved PHP file with different encodings - nothing helped.

You might ask about this in the regular forum. There are several form experts there that may be able to help you.

Generate PDF FORM with editable fields

Hi,
my requirement is to create a document wich has a number of fields which users can fill in. By default, these fields need to be filled in with the data from the database, but editable by the user, the rest of the document has to be non-editable. I'm looking to PDF Forms for this, but am open to other suggestions. I can't get the output to show such fields. Is it even possible?

Generate PDF form

Hi all,
I'm using the code below to generate a pdf form ('ZPDF_TEST_FORM').
When the function in FM_NAME is called, it returns with SY-SUBRC eq 2 and this error message:
Adobe document services error: SOAP Runtime
Exception: CSoapExceptionFault : SOAP (100102)

This should be due to a user authorization error.

Java Library for dynamic PDF form creation similar to LiveCycle Designer

I have a requirement as below :
Requirement : I need to create a dynamic PDF form with a barcode of type PDF417. Where a user can fill the form offline and after click on some button it will save the form offline and generate a barcode in the same PDF. Later on usaer can take a printout or send the saved pdf as it is.
Currently I am able to create such pdf from using LiveCycle Designer. But I need to create it manually using designer and then need to apply Reader Extension on it using livecycle server.
I want to do this programatically. I would like to create a similar form using some Java Library.
Is it possible to create it dynamicaly(using programs)? how ?
Does any one know how to acheive this ?
Can anyone help me please ?

Product for Generating Dynamic Forms

Hi,
Adobe has a myriad of products. Which product is suitable to create dynamic PDF forms, downloadable to client (not necessary to integrate with browser). The "dynamicity" of the forms are dependent on questions answered by the user - which in all likelihood would be better asked "outside" the Adobe form. In other words, generate a PDF Form for entry using Adobe technology in conjunction with a web technology like ASP, Java or other?

You can achieve all this by just using SSIS which is tailored exactly to doing that.

                                   The issues i'm facing are:
When it is reading a row from MS-Excel it is writing to the .pdf file from last cell to first cell.( 2 cell in 1 place, 1 cell in 2 place like if the row has two cells with data as : Name of the Intern: Kesavulu Reddy then it is writing to the .pdf file as Kesavulu Reddy Name of Intern)
and the second issue is:
It is not recognizing the date format..it is recognizing the date in first row only......
Plz Tell me wht is the solution for this...

Adobe Reader 11.0.09 - some certificates no longer accepted for signing PDF forms

After installation of the patch 11.0.09 of Adobe Reader some certificates are no longer accepted for signing (not enlisted in list of certificates) when clicking the sign fields of PDF forms. The forms were created using LiveCycle Designer.
Is it by design or is it a bug? If it is by design, what is the change, which caused this behavior? We are facing the problem, when our users are no more able to sign the request forms using their client certificates.
