API to create a new user from custom code

Hi, do we have an API to create a new AquaLogic portal user, which I can call from my custom Java code? I want to make user creation process dynamic.
Edited by technical_stuffs at 05/01/2007 2:20 PM

yes, I gone through the code and it seems like I need to have some modification over there because it is taking some parameters that I dont have control on or I create those objects as what portals' create user process is doing and pass it down to that method and rest would be fine.

    I ran across the same error today. Since it's been over a month, I assume you've fixed it already or decided you didn't need it at all? What was your fix?
    For me, I noted that in the sample directory, a similar "createView" call (in End User Anonymous Enrollment) also includes this argument:
    <Argument name='viewId' value='User'/>
    When I added that to my createView call, the "Missing view id" error went away, and the user are gets created.
    I'm not entirely comfortable with the value specified, though; seems like view IDs should be more unique. I would have thought it should have been something like this instead:
    <Argument name='viewId' value='User:$(accountId)'/>

  • Create a new File from java code

    Hi,
    I'd like to create a new File on IFS, using Java code. Moreover, this file will be an image file, and I'd like to store meta data with this file... and then execute a search on this meta data.
    I know it must not be very difficult to do, but I can't find any code sample.
    Does anyone could give me some usefull link or advice ?
    thanks in advance,
    Roger.

    First of all, you need to create your custom class. You can do it using iFS Manager, extending the class DOCUMENT. Let's call this class IMAGE with the attributes "length", "width", "colorDepth". Take a look at the code that creates one instance:
    You need one instance of LibrarySession (that appears in the code named "ifsSession").
    You need also the InputStream of the image you want to store (that appears in the code named "contentStream").
    // Setting the attributes
    DocumentDefinition def = new DocumentDefinition(ifsSession);
    def.setClassname("IMAGE");
    def.setAttribute("NAME", AttributeValue.newAttributeValue("nameOfTheImage"));
    def.setAttribute("LENGTH", AttributeValue.newAttributeValue(100));
    def.setAttribute("WIDTH", AttributeValue.newAttributeValue(230));
    def.setAttribute("COLORDEPTH", AttributeValue.newAttributeValue(1024));
    def.setContentStream(contentStream);
    // Creation
    Document doc = (Document) ifsSession.createPublicObject(def);
    I hope this helps,

  • Problem when trying  to create a new user

    Hi experts!!
    I am working on EP 7.0  ABAP & JAVA stack, so the UME datasource is the R3_DATASOURCE.
    When i try to create to create a new user from the portal i get the following message:
    Current user has user creation permissions in the UME, but cannot create users in the back-end system (data source). The original and possibly untranslated message was: "No active writeable datasource found for user creation, check your Persistence Configuration.".
    But i am actually able to create users to the ABAP client.
    Any ideas???
    Please help!!
    Thank you in advance!!!

    Hi,
    Have a look at this link...
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/45/af3ac012d32e78e10000000a155369/frameset.htm
    Below is the part of text I got from same link.....
    The file dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml enables you to create users only in the ABAP system. Once the UME is configured to use the AS ABAP as a data source, you cannot create users in the database of the AS Java; though you can still delete and edit existing users. ABAP roles determine your write access to the ABAP user management. If you have read-only access, you cannot create any users. The UME does not default to creating users in the local database of the AS Java. Nor can you edit or delete users in the AS ABAP without read-write access.

    Srinivas.

  • How to create a new user without any sample objects from any other user?

    Question as the title.
    I had the example dababase installed when I installed the Oracle database.
    Every time, when I create a new user, there will be some example objects coming
    with the new user.
    How can I remove these objects from the new user?
    Or, how can I create a new user without the example objects?
    Thanks in advance.

    I think the easiest way for you would be to use OEM.
    Just locate each object that you want to remove and right click->remove. Don't bother doing this for any indexes as these will be removed when you drop the corresponding tables.
    If you want to try command line through sqlplus then identify the objects you want to remove by selecting from the user_objects view while logged in as this user. This will give you the name and type of object. Then issue the relevant drop command.
    It's probably worth making sure you have a valid backup first, just in case things go wrong!

  • How to create a new User / Contact using APIs

    I am not able to figure out how to create a new User / Contact in WLPS using APIs
    . Is there a factory class ?
    Thanks,
    AJ

    Hi Bala,
    Try using these function modules
    SUSR_BAPI_USER_CREATE
    BAPI_USER_CREATE
    BAPI_USER_CREATE1
    BAPI_USER_INTERNET_CREATE ( This internally calls BAPI_USER_CREATE1)
    Please read the FM documentation for more information.

  • Creating a new user account and transferring files from old account

    I am now having more problems than I can handle with my Leopard installation...problems such as applications that refuse quit no matter what ~ even after attempting force quit them and/or attempting to "sudo kill -9 PID", and now that I am having problems with Adobe Lightroom not even being able to remain open on my user account for more than 10 seconds max before it crashes without provocation (yet runs fine on a troubleshooting account I created on the same machine), I would now like to create a new user account on my MacPro Leopard 10.5.6 and transfer my files from the previous (problematic) user account, but I've never done so in the past...
    Can someone give me a basic rundown of how to go about doing this as a means of troubleshooting my current sickly user account (and if you could also please let me know which files I should avoid restoring to the newly created user account so that I don't screw that one up as well, I would appreciate it)
    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

    While logged into the troubleshooting account (assuming that it's an admin account—if not create a new one and log into it), backup the bad account's folder, delete the bad account, selecting the save data option (which is stored in /Users/Deleted Users/ as a disk image), recreate the bad account using the same username/password combo, log out and back into the recreated original account. If the problem's solved, open the saved data dmg file in /Users/Deleted Users/, open the /Library/Preferences/ folder from the saved data, open the current /Users/restored account/Library/Preferences/ folder, and slowly copy plist files from the saved data folder to the current one that don't exist in it. Log out and back in to ensure there's no conflict and things still work correctly. Resolving conflicts or identifying corrupt plist files is a laborious process. Good luck.
    See http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4703015 for more details on this process.

  • I have recently transferred data from my old PC to my new Mac Book Pro (Mavericks OS). Each transfer creates a new User account (titled 'Owner', 'Owner 1', etc).  I want to merge the files from these transfers into my main user account.  Help?

    I have recently transferred data from my old PC to my new Mac Book Pro (Mavericks OS). Each transfer creates a new User account (titled 'Owner', 'Owner 1', etc).  I want to merge / consolidate the files from these newly created User accounts into my main user account.  Is there a tutorial for this process, or any tips?  Anyone?

    Four transfers.  After the initial attempt with Migration Assistant failed (after hours and hours of wifi transfer) I did "mini-transfers" of more manageable, smaller bits of files -- my music in one, photos in another, etc.  Since posting my question in this forum, i contacted Apple support, chatted with Angela, and she suggested getting an ethernet-USB adapter for my mac, connecting my external drive with ethernet and transferring files manually -- that is, NOT using the Migration Assistant at all.  She sent me this link to help:  Switch Basics: Migrate your Windows files to your Mac.  I appreciate your response, tho', Csound1!

  • Transfer files from PC without creating a new user

    Is it possible to use the Migration Assistant to transfer files (documents and photos) from a PC to my new MacBook WITHOUT creating a new user? And why the frick does the Setup Assistant not warn you on initial startup that if you do not transfer files then - you can only do it by creating a seperate user. This should be simple. Transfer files. sounds easy.

    It is user friendly - that's why it asks you to migrate all of your info in the very beginning during the setup of your new Mac.
    Migration Assistant creates a new user after it does its job. There's no way around that.
    You can either manually move the files over from your PC into the Mac or you can use MA, let it create a new user and then share those files between the new user and your current user. When you're done you can then delete the newly (and now empty) migrated user. You cannot migrate files from another computer and have them placed into your current user.

              Now the weird thing is this. He got this error, and the user WAS STILL added to our user lists. This doesn't happen all the time, as in the logs he created a user minutes before this one and he did not receive any errors.
              This is just something that we do not want to have happen. Does anyone have any idea of what may have caused this and what I can do to prevent this from happening again.
              I cannot find any info on this BEA-423137 error anywhere on the site and I was wondering if someone would be able to help me out.
              Thanks,
              Garret

    Nevermind everyone. I figured out that I can do a manual change and just add the user to one of the groups and everything should be ok. Something happened silently within the system that caused it.

  • Creating a new User in BO 4.1

    Hello everyone,
    When I am creating a new user and check the security I find that Administrator group is automatically inherited.
    Where is it inheriting the admin group from.  I cannot remove it since it is inherited.
    Any idea where it is coming from and why?
    Thanks
    Abdul

    Hello Abdul,
    Javahar is right. Default configuration works this way only.
    Still if you want to confirm, please create one test user and login to BI Launchpad and see if you can do admin related tasks.
    If YES...then you need to create few Custom Access Levels as per requirement and break the inheritance while mapping them with the users, so it will not inherit anything from its Parent/Top-Level.

  • How do i create a new user in visual basic

    hello all!
    I'm customizing TS Operator Interface and I'm trying to add a new user with VB code.
    is anyone has any idea how to do this?
    Advanced thanks,Avi.

    Hello Avi,
    Looks like the TSengine doesn't handle the save and update operations when invoking 'NewUser' method, so you have to handle these by your own. The following code (which is the menu callback for creating a new user in an Operator interface) might give you an answer for your question:
    Private Sub NewUser_Click()
    Dim objNewUser As User
    Dim tmpUser As User
    Dim users As PropertyObject
    Dim OkCancel As Boolean
    Dim loginName As String
    Dim usersFilePath As String
    Const USERS_FILE_NAME As String = "\users.ini"
    Const USER_LISTS As String = "UserLists.Users" 'section of file containing user lists
    'Check if the current user has 'EditUsers' privileges
    If Data.TestEngine.CurrentUserHasPrivilege(Priv_EditUsers) Then
    OkCancel = Data.TestEngine.DisplayNewUserDialog("New User", True, objNewUser)
    If OkCancel Then
    'Get user login name
    loginName = objNewUser.loginName
    'Get users file path
    usersFilePath = Data.TestEngine.ConfigDirectory
    usersFilePath = usersFilePath + USERS_FILE_NAME
    'Create new object for all users
    Set users = Data.TestEngine.NewPropertyObject(PropValType_Container, False, "", 0)
    'Read all users from users.ini
    Call users.Read(usersFilePath, USER_LISTS, 0)
    'Check if user name already exist
    If Not Data.TestEngine.UserNameExists(loginName) Then
    'Insert new user into user object
    Call users.SetPropertyObject(loginName, PropOption_InsertIfMissing, objNewUser)
    'Write user object back to users.ini
    Call users.Write(usersFilePath, USER_LISTS, 0)
    End If
    End If
    End If
    End Sub
    After executing the code above you'll have to restart the operator interface in order to see the newly created user in the 'TSEngine.DisplayLoginDialog' (seems to be a bug here).
    Hope this solved your problem and
    feel free for further questions

    Hi Jason
    There is a typo in the documentation, the name of the procedure is:
    executeNativeUpdateQuery
    By the way, you can get the full procedure list by entering the following query in the administrator
    SELECT * FROM leselect.system.procedures
    Hope this helps,
    Fred

    This problem wil happen only if you've created a user with an empty group id, and this issue is fixed for FCS .
    You have two workarounds to use adminGUI for managing users:
    1. Use CLI, and create a group id to this user, then you can use adminGUI.
    2. Other option is remove the empty group id user from domain.xml, and then you can come back to adminGUI to create the user with some group id. I prefer the 1st option.
