    Hi Experts,
could you explaine me what is the diffternce between APO VMI  Vs  R/3 VMI ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
VMI is Vendor managed Inventory. APO can plan for VMI scenario. In a situation, when the stock level at the end customer is known to APO , then APO can plan the requirements at the customer level.
The aim of vendor-managed inventory (VMI) is to integrate key customers in supply chain planning. The customer regularly sends stock and sales data to the vendor, and based on that information, the vendor determines replenishment requirements for the customer
VMI as a concept must be same in APO and R/3. But, such planning is possible in APO. I am not sure whether it can be done in R/3 system.

  • VMI: reduce Stock in transit - what is the correct method?

    Hi Gurus,
We are using APO/SCM  system to implement VMI functionality to replenish stock at customer location.  We need to build stock in transit at customer location after PGI happens in ECC.
Now, stock in transit is show up in 'Stock in transit' key figure, but the question is how to reduce stock in transit once it is received at customer location.
SAP recommends following four methods to reduce:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm2007/helpdata/en/f1/f69a3dcbcfac53e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    1.  Goods receipt information is not sent from the customer to the vendor
    2. The open purchase order quantity is sent from the customer to the vendor
    3. A proof of delivery is sent from the customer
    4.  The stock in transit quantity is sent from the customer to the vendor
Out of these 1 and 2 methods are feasible in our scenario.
Please share your experience if you have used any of these methods, I want to hear from someone who implemented any of these methods before deciding on a method.
    Thanks in advance,
    Niranjan

After research and testing  I found second method  looks good to me. I tested in our test system, this works pretty much they way it is described in the help (link in above message) .  The issue is resolved.

    G'day Team,
Client is using SCM7.0 and utilises the VMI solution for Customer colab planning.
Have set -up in ECC "Assign Sales Area and Order Type to Ordering Party/Plant" and all other master data corect at location & product master.
The VMI: Sales order is sucecssfully transferred from APO to ECC and the new ECC Salesorder Number range is trnasferred back to APO.
The Original TLB: VMI sales order (as generated via TLB: Source / Target locs) is still visibale.
there is an active integration model (IM) for Sales orders and the Publication is set for the Source Location; Sales orders to ECC.
Wierdly the applicatiion logs is showing "Grey" app log both on the ECC utbound log & APO inbound log.. has anyone experienced.  Expect missing masterdata, unless spro config ,issed.

  • VMI Sales Order CIF to APO

    Dear All;
We are creating a VMI Order in APO which is CIF'ed to R/3 and a corresponding Sales Order is created with "Z" order type which has been configured.
But this order is not CIF'ed back to APO. The integration model is active with the material and plant.
Could you please shed some on light on any missing config here ?
    Thanks
    Vathsan

    Hi Vathsan,
    1) Check is there any struck queues
    2) Check the publication settings under distribution
definition are maintained in APO customisation
    3) Run /sapapo/ccr for sales order and check the
    error noticed

  • APO VMI Consignment- functional  questions

    Hi Gurus,
Has anyone implemented APO VMI with Consignment Option. I am wondering if any one of you out there with proper experience can answer the following questions.
    1. We have our own disctribution centers where we maintain consignment stock for customers. How do you grab the consigment stock issue quantity information for KE order into APO VMI planning book?
    2. We have 'make to order' scenario, how do we grab the sales order stock information into APO VMI planning book?
For the above questions, are there any configuration settings that can be used without involving custom development?
    Thanks,
    Srini

XML will be needed over external link, which means you would need to create a link in SAP where this XML data could be posted. XML is a web standard and can be posted over internet. So linkage is not a problem, however security of data being posted , or allowing external data could be an issue.
EDI subsystem allows you to map the data conviniently and securely however its not a web standard and also you would be dependent on EDI subsystem for interpretation and mapping of data.
    Hope this information helps.

  • Implementing APO/VMI

Can anyone provide insight regarding implementation of APO and VMI for large customers, e.g., ease of implementation, time to implement, challenges in implementing VMI, things to watch out for during implementation and execution?

    Hello,
Let me give you some insight on VMI.
    - Please examine this SAP Library link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm2007/helpdata/en/f1/f69a3dcbcfac53e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    - In case of VMI Scenario, you are supposed to use APO specific VMI Purchase order number. SPRO   > Advanced Planning Optimization   > Supply Chain Planning   > Supply Network Planning   > Vendor Managed Inventory   > Maintain Purchase Order Number Assignment in SAP APO. ( please also go through IMG Help against this node )
    Hope this helps you.
    Best regards,

  • Cook book / Solution Map for doing "VMI with APO" ?

    Hello experts,
we are planning to implement VMI and want to use our SCM50. I'm looking for a little "cook book" or even an SAP solution map which sort of guides through the required settings in APO (and R3). Main focus is to plan replenishment to a customer location from our DC using SNP heuristic and run Deployment / TLB to create the replenishment customer orders in R3. The stock at customer side is non-consigned - so no consignment involved.
One specific question is how would you create the location products for SNP at customer location side since such cannot be CIFed etc. Manually is no option in case of roughly 3000 products at 4 Customer locations.
    Regards
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
In general, the ERP master data objects plant, customer, vendor, shipping point, etc. are
transferred as locations.  They differ from each other through their respective location types.
In SAP R/3 Customizing you assign a node type to the plant, for example, a plant or
distribution center. To do this, choose Production > Distribution Resource Planning (DRP) >
Basic Settings > Maintain assignment of node type u2013 plant. By doing this you define the
location type in SAP APO to which the plant defined in SAP R/3 corresponds.
If you want to transfer a large number of customers, you create transportation zones in
which you group multiple customers. The transportation zone is mapped as a location in
SAP APO with the location type 1005 (transportation zone). You assign the customers
to the transportation zone using a hierarchy.
In CFM1, once your selection criteria are entered and upon execution, check whether
the customer location is getting picked up.
    Regards
    R. Senthil Mareeswaran.

  • Processing Customer Master in MDM into SAP

    Hi,
I have a requirement where I am processing DEBMAS (Customer Master) in MDM and posting in to SAP. Can somebody give me a detailed Step-By-Step procedure to go about Posting this Inbound DEBMAS Idoc to SAP from MDM?
    Thanks,
    Venkat.

    Hi,
Generally we CIF Customers from ECC to APO , this way all of the information is passed to APO.
and maintain this customer in ECC View V_CIFVMISD.
If it is a VMI customer then you need to put some additional info like VMI customer number on VMI tab and need to extend material to customer location.
If you are creating manually customer in APO then make sure it is assigned to model 000.
    Thanks,

  • TLB Issue

    HI Experts,
In our planning, sales orders will create in APO after I run TLB, that is fine.
If I create sales order in ECC and I transfter it to APO the same is visible in planning book fine but the same sales order is not visible in my TLB view, even though sales order is confirmed and delivery is not created.
    Thanks
    Kishore

    Hi Kishore,
Little Confusion here when you say order category BF ( which is purc. order) and you say users are creating sales order which should come to APO as BM.
So I assume you are saying Pur. from customer point of view.
Since you have not mentioned whether it is VMI or Non VMI situation I will explain both.
    1. VMI Situation (where you consider customer part of your supply chain)
Supply situation - your plant to Customer - In this situation you have TLane created from your location to customer location os APO considers this as VMI. So when you have demand on customer and run thru SNP process, you will Purc. Req at every stage and when you do TLB, APO creates sales order (EK - VMI SO) for that customer. At this point you will still see BF (Pur. O) at customer location.
In this situation you should see sales orders (EK-VMI SO) in your TLB screen no matter whether it has been created by TLB or created by user directly in R/3 and in interactive as TLB confirmed.
    2. Non VMI Scenation (from your plant to DC)
In this situation TLB creates STO at source location and PO at destination location and you should see BF at destination location.
When users craetes SO for customer it will not be visible in TLB screen but when they create STO, it should be visible in TLB screen and in interactive as TLB confirmed orders.
    Hope this clears some cloud.
    Regard,
    Harshil Desai

  • Need Assistance to write a procedure for the below requirements!!!

    Hi Forum,
Could some body give me a hand in writing an oracle procedure to pull the results as per the below requirement
A JOBNUM is transfered from the first JSP page to second JSP page and based on that JOBNUM I have to write a procedure to populate the second page
I need to pull these feilds from the respective tables
QM_JOB_NUM, QM_JOB_STATUS from QMI which matches the value of the JOBNUM from the first JSPpage
    QN_JOB_GPH_FILE, QN_COMMENTS from QNI where QM_JOB_NUM = QN_JOB_NUM
    VM_NAME concertnate with VM_SURNAME from VMI where QM_PROFILE = VM_PROFILE
QF_NARRATIVE_1,QF_NARRATIVE_2,QF_NARRATIVE_3( if these feilds has any values in DB then only pull them, if not dont pull them.so, we need to put a IF condition) where QF_JOB_NUM = QM_JOb_NUM
    JI_DESC from JII where QM_USER_STATUS = JII_STATUS _CODE
    RR_NAME from RRI where QM_REP = RR_REP
    and
a case condition to match the QM_JOB_STATUS to the string value ( LIVE, PENDING , CLOSED ) as the QM_JOB_STATUS stores in the database as the numerical values 1,2,3 and while displaying on to the web page I need to match to the correspond string value and display it
    if ( QM_JOB_STATUS ) = 1 then print to the webform LIVE
    if ( QM_JOB_STATUS ) = 2 then print to the webform PENDING
    if ( QM_JOB_STATUS ) = 3 then print to the webform CLOSED
    Thanks for your assistance.
    Cheers,
    Krishna.

First off, you need to turn the requirement into a sql statement. If I followed things correctly, that would be something like:
    SELECT qmi.qm_job_num,
           DECODE(qmi.qm_job_status, 1, 'LIVE',
                                     2, 'PENDING',
                                     3, 'CLOSED') qm_job_status,
           qni.qn_job_gph_file,
           qni.qn_comments, vmi.vm_name||' '||vmi.vm_surname name,
           qfi.qf_narrative_1, qfi.qf_narrative_2, qfi.qf_narrative_3,
           jii.ji_desc, rri.rr_name
    FROM qmi
       JOIN qni ON qmi.qm_job_num = qni.qn_job_num
       JOIN vmi ON qmi.qm_profile = vmi.vm_profile
       LEFT JOIN qfi ON qmi.qm_job_num = qfi.qf_job_num
       JOIN jii ON qmi.qm_user_status = jii.jii_status_code
       JOIN rri ON qmi.qm_rep = rri.rr_rep
WHERE  qmi.qm_job_num = p_jobnumP_jobnum in the query is the parameter you will pass to your stored proc.
Next, you need to decide how many rows will be returned for a particular job number. If there will be more than one row, then you will probably need to return a ref cursor. If there will be only one row, then you could return either a set of variables, one for each column in the resultset, or a record type with a field for each column.
If you are returning a ref cursor or a record type, then you probably want to build the stored proc as a function, if you are returning multiple variables, then you will need to build it as a procedure.
So, to return a ref cursor, the signature of the function would look something like:
    CREATE FUNCTION get_page2 (p_jobnum IN qmi.qm_job_num%TYPE)
RETURN sys_refcursor ASReturning a record type would be similar except that you would RETURN the record type you defined in the database.
To return several variables in a procedure, the signature would look something like:
    CREATE PROCEDURE get_page2 (p_jobnum     IN  qmi.qm_job_num%TYPE,
                                p_status     OUT VARCHAR2,
                                p_gph_file   OUT VARCHAR2,
                                p_comment    OUT VARCHAR2,
                                p_name       OUT VARCHAR2,
                                p_narrative1 OUT VARCHAR2,
                                p_narrative2 OUT VARCHAR2,
                                p_narrative3 OUT VARCHAR2,
                                p_desc       OUT VARCHAR2,
                                p_rrname     OUT VARCHAR2) ASHTH
