App error 200 reset??? help me

Hi,
Can anyone help?
I was doing a update but then accidently unppluged the phone so my blackberry torch started to reboot, it took a while then white screen App error 200 reset shows up i push it and then it trys to reboot again but same app error 200 reset over and over again. how can this be fixed?

Try the method above, which circumvents Desktop Manager.  If that doesn't work, post back and we'll try some other things.  In fact, go ahead and download an app to your PC called BBSAK, which you get here: www.bbsak.org
Once the app is installed, connect your device to the PC, then launch BBSAK.  You'll be asked for a password.  If you don't have a password set for your device, just click OK.
Your device should hopefully be recognized by BBSAK, in which case, choose the Wipe Device option.  This will wipe the OS from your device, allowing you to do a fresh install using the instructions above.

    Hello,
While I was downloading the new BB software via BB desktop manager, my laptop suddenly closed. After that, when I re-opened my mobile, after reloading, the screen went blank with an "App Error 200 - Reset" in the middle of the screen. I tried pressing the reset button, but it repeats the same system again! How can I solve this problem?! Pleasee Help

Just enter an incorrect one 10 times and the phone will reset itself back to factory settings without a password and then you are good to go. (P.S: note that the device wont lock out it will start fresh as a new device). Have you made a back-up of your BB at any given point in time?
If so, then you can just load the backup through the Desktop Manager.

  • APP Error 200 Reset

This morning, I woke up to the above mentioned error message on my Flip phone.  I've only had the phone since Jan 31, and am wondering if anyone knows if this is something that happens a lot with the phone?  I have the phone set to turn itself off at 1 am and then back on at 5 am, and last night was the first time it actually worked to set itself off.  I have some appointments coming up where I'm going to need a reliable device to wake me earlier than usual.  My phone seemed to have reset itself after I'd removed the battery for a second time - the first time I got the error message, and the second time it turned itself on without the error message.  I then followed instructions on this website to redownload my settings from the Desktop Manager.
Any feedback/advice will be welcomed.  Thanking you in advance ...

    Go to Solution.

Okay.  I let the phone turn itself off at 1am this morning.  At 5am (I was still awake and watching) ... it turned itself back on, but the error message was on the screen when I opened the flip.  I took out the battery for a few seconds, and then put the battery in.  When the phone came back on again, it was fine.  So, I manually turned off the phone to wait and see what would happen when my 8am alarm went off.  The phone turned itself on at 8am without any problems.  I'm not going to reload the applications again, as me thinks there might be a problem with the turn the phone on/off application that needs a bug or two asked to leave.  Can't get new downloads because there are none!  So, until I get word that there new updates to the turn the phone on/off application, I'll be doing the turning on/off manually.
I'm going to catch a few winks now ... hope this may help anyone looking for some answers.

  • BB Bold 9900 APP ERROR 200.....HELP!!!

I have a BB Bold 9900 and has the white screen with App Error 200 Reset screen, I have tried taking the battery out and plugging it into computer to reset it but comes up with the update screen and then says repair and then says No BB device updates available...what do I do now as just have an exspensive brick????? thanks

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Here is a KB that discusses that error:
KB30100 "JVM 200" appears on the BlackBerry smartphone
Hopefully it contains something useful! There also are multiple existing threads on this site that discuss that exact error...your review of those might prove useful, and a search of this site, using the error message, error code, or symptom, should reveal all applicable existing threads to you.
You also might want to do an OS reload. The simplest way is to, on a PC (you cannot do this on MAC):
    1) Make sure you have a current and complete backup of your BB...you can find complete instructions via the link in my auto-sig below.
    2) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    3) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html
    4) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
It is sorted first by carrier -- so if all you want are the OS levels your carrier supports, your search will be quick. However, some carriers are much slower than others to release updates. To truly seek out the most up-to-date OS package for your BB, you must dig through and find all carriers that support your specific model BB, and then compare the OS levels that they support.
    5) Delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
6a) For changing your installed BB OS level (upgrade or downgrade), you can launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC.
6b) Or, for reloading your currently installed BB OS level as well as for changing it, bypass the Desktop Software and use LOADER.EXE directly, by proceeding to step 2 in this process:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC.
If, during the processes of 6a or 6b, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try the "Bare Bones OS Reload Procedure" to attempt to narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.

My Blackberry desktop application does not even recognise up my phone once it is plugged in again.

  • Cannot connect to PC. App Error 200 keeps coming up.

I have a BlackBerry Curve 9380. While charging the battery an update came up on the PC to download. Since downloading the update, I cannot turn the phone on or navigate. The Blackberry name comes up and the line scrolls across the bottom then a white screen with App Error 200 (Reset) shows on the screen. When I reset, it goes through the same things and then stays on. I took it to a Bell store and they could not correct this problem and suggested I try you. I have tried reloading the desktop software, and taking the battery out and the problem still exists. Any help you could provide would be much appreciated.

Hi! Ok, i am totally lost!  My blackberry pearl 8100 stoped living as of this morning at 8 a.m.  I has a white screen with the same message as yours did, "app error 523 reset"  No matter how many times i hit reset, it doesnt RESET!  I have been off work since 6 and online looking for solutions.  I read what the guy told you about yours, but i dont think i understand.  I purchased my bb from someone, and i dont have anything on my desktop manager as some websites say.  I do have the usb that came with the phone.  Please help me if you can.  I cannot afford another cell at this moment and i really like the one i have now.  I have also tried the holding down the alt cap del button; NOTHING.  I JUST WANT MY PHONE BACK.  PLEASE!  SOS!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
(FYI - we had this split off of a closed thread so that it could receive proper attention...)
First, you need to take the red out of your posts...please.
Second, you need to do the following:
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything. If you have never installed the Desktop Software to your PC, then skip steps 1 and 2.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
OK...next, follow this KB (including the other links within the KB) for recovery from the 523 error:
KB11816 Error "523 app.error.Reset" appears on the BlackBerry smartphone
Good luck and let us know!

  • App Error 200???? Desktop Manager not connecting to Device??

I am officially out of ideas for what to do with my phone!!
I changed my pay as you go tariff yesterday and in order to reset the phone to get my internet settings I switched off the handset and turned it on again.
When I turned it back on it started to load as normal then came up with  "App Error 200" message. I have done a hard reset and even after taking out the sim and battery it still wont work.
I know I can change things on my Desktop Manager, but that now wont recognise the phone is connected. I have gone to the 'Options' button (top right hand corner) and applyed the USB connection but is still wont work!!
Can anyone help as I am totally lost and have lost all patients!!!!
    Thanks

If that still doesn't work you will need to do the following:

    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_to_do_next_if_Jl_Cmder_will_not_connect_and_wipe
Then reload the OS from the thread below:
    http://www.blackberryforums.com/general-8900-series-discussion-javelin/227412-os-8900-v5-0-0-1168-5-...
You can use the OS in the download link in the thread above or you can download from your own carrier (doesn't matter where it comes from) but be sure and use the instructions in the above thread to install it.

  • App Error 523 Reset

Will somebody please help with my BB Pearl 8110 by walking me through
the complete resolution to this problem?
It all began by turning itself on and off, on and off.
I checked for updates an began the update process to v 5?
Unfortunately it must've turned itself on and off, on and off causing
    App Error 523 Reset.
I followed other advice like hard and soft reboots? and my BB began
Blinking 4 times then once repeatedly.
So after going through, what I thought were the correct steps to recover
    I've once again returned to
    App Error 523 Reset.
At this point all I want is my BlackBerry back. Forget any personal items
I once had. I'll start all over again.
Thanks a bunch for any help and if it helps I will surely post so.
    Scott

    Hello!
We are so sorry that you are having so many difficulties. While many experience the same (a search here will reveal that fact), there are also many who have very positive experiences with their BB. Not every device is suitable for everyone -- which IMHO is why there are so many choices.
FYI -- these forums are a user-to-user support channel, not a user-to-RIM conduit. As such, it is unfortunate that we all missed your post and did not provide any useful responses to you...but, we are volunteers and not paid RIM support folks...sometime we just miss things. But a perusal through these forums will I think show your experience to be abnormal (as far as helpfulness in these forums is concerned). But, yes, I am biased...I volunteer a lot of time here when I can.
For the benefit of others who search and find this thread, here is the relevant KB for resolving the 523 error:

  • App Error 200

After installing an uodate to PocketGrapes Digital Wine Diary last night I was prompted for a Restart which I accepted. The Restart gets no further than the white line across the bottom of the Blackberry screen which hangs for about 5 minutes and then shows App Error 200. If I accept Reset the process is repeated. If I remove the battery and then replace it the same thing happens.
I have tried to Restart in Safe mode but this does not work.
I have tried to Reload the OS from Blackberry Desktop Software but when I connect my phone, the phone restarts and I get the Error message: "Cannot communicate with the connected device" because it is rebooting. The only way I can stop it from rebooting is by taking the battery out but if I then try and connect my phone I get the same error message bacause the software thinks the battery is flat.
    Any advice would be welcome.

  • App Error 603 Reset

Everything I have read posted re: this error is useless to me I have a Boostmobile BB Curve 9310 and haven't added any apps for awhile and all of a sudden the phone rebooted and instead of going to the home screen it went to a white screen with the error message " App Error 603"Reset, the only option you have is to reset and it just does the exact same thing.  the posts as well as Blackberry's tech info on this state this is caused by a Java driven app that has created the problem and that the phone needs to have the OS reinstalled, sounds good but this error on my phone bars the usb cable from seeing the phone as it normally would, so since you can't see the phone you can't modidy, or delete anything much less re-install the OS, there is another post that suggests the use of the BBSAK program to reload the OS, same problem the program doesn't see the phone so NO CIGAR. Why is it that RIM doesn't have its techs working on this issue ??? Obviously its not an isolated problem.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I do not see that you have yet tried these tricks:
KB10144 How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader
KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state
    http://crackberry.com/blackberry-101-lecture-12-how-reload-operating-system-nuked-blackberry
You might also need to, instead of the web update site, install the Desktop Software and your BB OS package to your PC:
    1) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
    2) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
    http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/?lid=us:bboftwareesktopSoftware&lpos=us:bboftware
    3) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    4) If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Now try the various tricks listed above and see if you can get your OS reloaded to your BB.
If things remain problematic, you may also want to try this procedure to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:
Good luck and let us know!
