App.execMenuItem("SaveAs") don't work in docready event

Hi all, I create a dynamic PDF using LiveCycle Designer ES 8.1.1 The client uploaded the document to it server and the users download the document via a website. I added the "app.execMenuItem("SaveAs")" command to the docReady event, the user must save the document before he/she complete it. The save as popup work 100% fine if the docuemt is opened in Adobe reader or Prof. but when the document is opened in a browser the popup don't appear. any suggestions? Regards, Chris

Could you please confirm the browser being used here.
Make sure the plugin used here is from Adobe Acrobat/Reader : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-built-pdf-viewer-and-use-another-viewer

Exactly, if you save from the standard menu options (File > SaveAs) gives exactly the same error.
After giving the error, if I try to save again it saves correctly!
Step by step, the process:
1. Download the PDF of a web application.
2. IE download process question if: Open? or Save? document.
3. Choose Open.
4. In Reader (or Acrobat) 9 go to File> SaveAs -> and click on "save" produces the error.
What does the message: "There was a problem reading this document (105)."?
Why occurs only with version 9 of Acrobat or Reader?

Certainly it is very hard to work with this Adobe technology... not control what happens within Acrobat / Reader and errors arise "unexplained" or seemingly meaningless.

Programmatically using the app.execMenuItem "SaveAs" and "Close"

I am using Acrobat XI pro licensed...
I created a custom action with one step (Execute Javascript), after all the code runs I added a SaveAs and a Close. It prompts me to save the document, which I do successfully, but directly after I save it, it pops up and tells me that the action is not complete and asks if I want to exit the action. See below....
1) Code as it is in the script (last 5 lines of it)

I think you need to stop trying to close the file. The action has not finished, and taking away the controlling document is likely to lead to bad things.

Is it on mute? There is a switch on the side which may be mute or rotation lock. If it locks the rotation, double tap the home button and swipe your finger to the right. You should see volume, brightness, etc... On the far left is a button to mute or lock rotation. Make sure it is not on. If you still can't hear anything, go to settings> general> sounds> ringer and alerts and slide the dot to the right.

In the meantime, you can try this. This how I would procede no matter the app. You can also delete the app, and try to install it again. Also check the reviews for the app in the app store.
Try this:
Make sure IOS is updated to latest version

Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings (or for network connection issues 'reset network settings').
(no media or data will be deleted from the device, this will only take a minute).

I can't update my apps - now they don't work at all

I don't really use apps on my blackberry but there are two that I use everyday, these are twitter and whatsapp . I don't know if they need updating but they have just stopped working all together, this has happened before but updating them seems to fix it. Now I can't get on to the app world to do this because is says that it needs wifi but I don't have this. Is there any way that I can get onto the app world just using the mobile Internet because this seems like such a silly idea for the people that don't have wifi!

At Options > Device > Application Management, what version of AppWorld do you have installed?
You can delete it there.

CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN / SAVE don't work?

Hello,
I want to change the priority of a CRM order(e.g. Object-id: 9999000241 , Header-GUID: F3330F14B8A20A43BEEDDD3B6791395F). According to some threads here, I used three FMs: CRM_ORDER_MAINTAIN, CRM_ORDER_SAVE and CRM_ORDER_INITIALIZE. I pasted the codes below. After running the report I got the result as follows, which is exactly what I expected:

Some apps and music don't work together....

So I have this issue with some apps not working with music because the music is stopped due to a in game video etc...... and you are unable to resume the music unless you exit the app....... I believe apple should fix this bug and let it work like the itouch where if you double tap home it opens the mini ipod control...... should let you get to that control even when music is paused......

The iPhone includes the same function - double clicking the Home button with the following options:
Home
Phone Favorites
iPod
There is also an iPod Controls on/off selection.
When on - when playing music, show iPod controls instead.

This may be an issue for you, but this depends on the app. If an app includes sound, you can't use the app and play music at the same time.

IPhone 3GS apps don't work after 4.3 upgrade

Some apps like mail, safari, app store, ipod don't work after upgrading to iOS 4.3. itues is up to date and have never had issues before. tried to downgrade to 4.2 but was unable to. Help!

I have the same issue, half the apps no longer work, just stays in 'updating' mode. I've tried uninstalling some but now the app store is freezing. THe ones I am able to reinstall give me error message saying I'm not logging in correctly (I am). I want to adjust the page layout for Adobe Reader. Best possible method I have come across is to use the app.execMenuItem command. The only question is what is the name of the command to use? example save is app.execMenuItem("Save");
Anyone have any ideas or another way of performing the same task?

I have the same problem but in reverse. I clicked on don't allow in FaceBook when I was asked to allow it to access my photos and videos. I have been into the privacy settings as suggested by FaceBook and there is no link.

I would like to add buttons in a pdf and add action to the buttons to activate, read, stop of Read out loud options.
To acheive this, I have created different buttons and trying to add
Button 1: Actions > Run a Javascript > app.execMenuItem("ADBE:ReadOutLoudOnOff");
Button 2: Actions > Run a Javascript > app.execMenuItem("ADBE:ReadAloudStart");
Button 3: Actions > Run a Javascript > app.execMenuItem("ADBE:ReadAloudToEndf");
Button 4: Actions > Run a Javascript > app.execMenuItem("ADBE:ReadAloudPauseResume");
Button 5: Actions > Run a Javascript > app.execMenuItem("ADBE:ReadAloudStop");
These javascripts are working fine in Javascript Debugger window but they are not working when adding this as Actions > Run a Javascript in buttons. I am not sure why?

Google apps like Gmail and most other apps don't work while using wi-fi connection

Will Blackberry apps ever be developed to be configurable to use a wi-fi connection? I would assume there is great demand for such. There are very few places I go that do not have wi-fi and I have been able to save a tremendous amount of money by going without a data plan. I got an unlocked BB Curve 8900 ( at full price) and then bought T-Mobile's prepaid 1000 minutes.
I'm using traditional Internet addresses (like Gmail) that usually have a mobile rendering for email and information. I am always seeing other apps that would be convenient to have; though they seldom work properly. They always open Browser instead of Hotspot Browser, the one you must use to go to the Internet via the same kind of access that laptops and notebooks use.
If I let the phone go where it wants; I usually end up downloading and installing an app; which then won't work. To get what works, I Go To a specific Internet address like I would using the address bar in a full browser running on a computer.
Does anyone know how to configure these apps to use Hotspot Browser?I figured out how to get my Curve to default to Hotspot Browser; so it opens first when I click the "globe" icon in the BB menu; but this hasn't worked from various apps I've tried (Facebook, Google Maps, Google Talk, etc.).
Perhaps if I download a different browser? Like Bolt or Opera?
Also, I think I should be able to use Google Voice with my Curve; but I haven't been able to figure it out yet.
I don't have the use of the GPS capability - I'm thinking that is not possible - am I correct? The same with SMS?
Can anyone advise me about what others have been able to do and how?

You don't say which BB you have or which carrier you use or your geographical location.
What you are asking for is full BB functionality without paying for it. I can't see RIM doing that somehow. They rely on carriers distributing the product so would be shooting themselves in the foot.
I've no doubt you feel pretty good having saved "a tremendous amout of money" but I suspect it costs you to do so. Browsing by Wi-Fi doesnt eat into data allowance meaning you have the full data allowance available when you are out and about. Oh, and you can use Hotspots.
The BB service means you don't log-in to email accounts. Emails are pushed on to the BB and for up to 10 different email accounts.You can read 10 emails in the time it takes your browser just to load the log-in page.
You can also download apps that work and many of them are free.
You can download and use whatever browser you want, it still won't get you round the problem. No BB data plan means seriously limited functionality.
Voice dialling and GPS may not be supported by your device. SMS will be.
In terms of money, my friend was paying £20 payg to O2 on an ordinary mobile. We located a violet 8520 on Orange UK with 500mb data allowance for £9.85 per month. So who's saving money?

IPod Touch: apps (facebook, twitter, facetime) don't work properly with my wireless internet having worked perfectly before. Help needed!

I got my iPod Touch 4g for Christmas 2011 and for the first 2 weeks everything worked fine - I could download apps; use apps to their full potential; use FaceTime; use everything.
But after the two weeks, the iPod decided to no longer work as well as it had promised. First of all, it would take more than 2 hours to download a single app from the app store and then, straight after that, I couldn't connect to FaceTime (it had worked perfectly before). Then, finally, to top it all off - Facebook and Twitter stopped working on occasions. For example, I couldn't post/send messages or photos on Twitter and at the majority of the time, the News Feeds wouldn't load.
Sometimes everything works but most of the time it doesn't. I've tried my iPod at every time of the day and it makes no difference - nothing still works! Also, I don't think it is the fault of my wireless internet because I've had an iPod touch before and it worked perfectly, and the laptop that I am writing this question on also works perfectly with wifi.
The weird thing is that I have used my iPod to its full potential (everything worked fine) at my friends hosue on multiple occasions - using his wifi. I am really lost for ideas for what to do - I have uninstalled all the apps that don't work with the internet (facebook, twitter) and have always made sure that I have closed apps after using them, so that my iPod wouldn't run slow.
My iPod has been like this for over a month now, help would be appreciated

Do you have a blackberry data plan active. On your account? You need an active blackberry data plan to use the majority of data functions on your phone, even if you are connected to wifi
