App Idea....how to pursue
I have an idea for an App....so who do I talk to to see it get developed?
Did you find an answer to your question regarding how to pursue your idea? I have an idea as well but I don't have the IT skills to know were to begin. Of course, I bet everyone and their dog has an app idea these days. If you know any helpful tips on where to begin, I'd love to hear.

Simple web app idea - how to implement the servlet?
I want to make a simple web application, that all it does is to allow a user to record his voice, using his microphone, and then save this audio file on my server (maybe allow him to hear it again, later). BUT -
I don't quite understand how it should work - I guess there is a java library to do the recording, that's not a problem, but how can I record via the web??
how can I use the java servlet (which is from the examples I've seen usually displays some new content upon a certain request, nothing more..) to do it?
(I mean. I don't fully understand the communication with the servlet, I think. I know that the servlet has a method for dealing with POST messages, for examlpe. but how can it help me do what I described above?)

Kogan.A Servlet is normally there to pre/postprocess requests. For example obtaining a list of records from DB and forwarding the request to a JSP for presentation. Or gathering, validating and/or converting request parameters from a form submit and preparing the result and forwarding the request to a JSP for presentation.
Now, you want to record a voice. If you want to do this with Java, then you'll need to run this at the client machine. As servlets run at the server machine, it can't record the voice, it can at highest only retrieve the voice stream and store it at the database or local disk. To record a voice using a web application, best what you can do is to create a Java applet or Java web start application which you on its turn embed in a JSP page for presentation. The applet or application on its turn can make use of the JMF API to record a voice. Then let the applet or application send the stream to the servlet so that it can process it.
Techniques you'll need to learn about:
1) Applet or web start application (JNLP).
2) AWT and Swing (for UI of applet or application).
3) JSP and HTML (to embed applet or application in web page).
4) JMF (to record voice).
5) Servlets (to process URL requests, the request body may contain the voice stream). -
My safari menu bar is missing. The menu bar for desktop, HD, and apps appears, but when I click on Safari, it disappears, so I can no longer see my buttons for History, etc. I think my husband (pc user) clicked it away when borrowing my computer. Any ideas how to retrieve it? Thanks.
I too was having the same problem However, I could access both the menu bar and the dock by hovering my mouse over them so it wasn't a huge problem but I prefered having it there anyway. I was not in full screen mode and I could still go into full screen mode if I wanted to. I found the easiest solution was to just quit safai and restart it, but it might not work for you considering you couldn't access you menu bar either way.
I found this article that allows you to hide/show the menu bar and the dock through TextEdit (didn't work for me) http://www.mactricksandtips.com/2009/07/hide-the-menubar-or-dock-in-specific-app s.html It is pretty old so it might not work for lion and a bit risky if you don't know what you're doing so I wouldn't really recommend doing it this way.
And KSheppard, I know it's not really any of my buisness, but the way to get answers to a question isn't by insulting others and being quick-tempered. Even if you feel like you were insulted first, don't try snapping at people who aren't obligated to help you. Honestly, it just makes everything easier if everybody is cooperative and polite. -
It takes a long time to open an app and sometimes it will just crash, any idea how to fix it?
My four year old Macbook Pro couldn't start yesterday and after going through solutions and all, it worked. But now it's freaking laggy and whenever I want to open an app, it takes a long time or the app will just crash. Any idea how to fix it? I really need the speed and everything back.

so you have an external hard disk, onto which you deleted/moved files from your internal hard disk, so that you now have 143 GB or so free on your internal hard disk — is that correct? Is the external disk purely for backups (e.g. a Time Machine destination), or does it function as a supplement to your internal disk?
Was it entirely your personal data files (documents, photos, movies, music, &c.) which you’d deleted or moved to the external disk, or did you also delete/move apps, libraries, &c. over there?
I’m not familiar with Echofon Lite, so I can’t comment on it, but an Apple-supplied app like the App Store shouldn’t crash.
Have you tried running Disk Utility yet, to see if its verification process gives your disks its seal of approval? -
I am trying to pair my cell phone and tablet using Messages App, but only MMS messages will come through on my tablet. I've tried pairing and unpaired, reinstalling app on my tablet, and can't figure it out. Any idea how to fix this?

I recently shut down my MacBook Pro for the first time in a long time. SInce then, everytime i reboot or awake my laptop from sleep, the Mail app opens unprompted causing my computer to slow down incredibly, and some apps to freeze. I have no idea how to stop this or why it even started doing this. Any ideas on how to get it to stop? Thanks!
I have this problem too with my Macbook Air. Mail opens automatically every time my laptop sleeps. I actually just asked about this in my own thread. However, it is not causing my apps to freeze.

I have 300 apps organized in folders on my ipod touch 4th gen, and connected my iphone 4, these apps have copied over but none have been placed in folders, any ideas how to replicate folders from ipod to iphone...?
What may work is to restore the iPhone fom the backup of the iPod. However, if the two devices ahve different apps that come with the device, that may mess up some of the folders.

When I try to download apps in my iphone , I get a spinning circle that won't go away and a grey icon that says "waiting" .Any ideas how to fix the problem?
First go into settings, Itunes and App store, sign out and then sign in again! (This might not work)

I saw one post where a user said dust got inside the small microphone hole. Using a vacuum cleaner removed the dust and restored the audio.

I downloaded what's app and snap chat and it keeps coming up about connect to I tunes to turn on push notifications. I'm connected and turned them on but it still says I haven't when I have opened the app. Any ideas how to solve it?
