App listed with no support

I noticed an App that looked interesting in the App Store (Cam Lock).  I reviewed the information provided, and although it is apparently a new app, and had no user review information or quesitons, I remained interested.  I then selected the only link provided for "support" which links, as far as I can tell, to additional detailed marketing information for the product, but not to any support information.
I don't want to imply anything about this particular software.  I was surprised, however, that I happened to look at software that is sold in the store, but doesn't have a a clear link to support for the product, or apparently any other direct link to the seller.  This may be common or even standard practice, as my expience here is limited.  Could someone point me to the description of how this is handled from a consumer perspective?  Is this common, and how, for example, would a request for support for any such application be channeled back to the developer?
My impression was that the Mac App Store was more than simply a sales channel, so please feel free to point me to the correct information, since I intended to ask this of the community directly, rather than to Apple. I'm interested more in how this works in fact, rather than how it is "supposed to work".

I was actually asking about the App Store link provided for "Support".  I infer that that link could go anywhere, not necessarily to support for the listed product (again, not leaving the App Store until clicking the link), or even to the product itself; it should be considered a general link that may go to the seller or support site for the product?  I was actually attempting to use the App Store link provided to determine if the product was suited to my purpose, since that information was not apparent in the description or any reviews.  Often, companies that market software, will either "host" their own content regarding the software they only sell and distribute but not write or support, or, alternately, provide a link to the actual support or owner of the software they are selling.  I was surprised to see that the button description was not more generic, but listed as "support".  If my inference is correct, a button "More Information" or similar is certainly less specific, but possibly more accurate.  I'm sure "Information" would work as well.

    I use several Adobe programs, among them Lightroom. However, in my Creative Cloud window, accessible in the header bar on my desktop, the other apps show up under "Your Apps", but not Lightroom 5. Therefore, it is not updating to 5.2.     Justimy are you stating you are unable to see Lightroom listed in the Creative Cloud desktop application?  Is so please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html for information on how to restore Photoshop Lightroom as being listed.
    Please do be aware that this will not affect the Photoshop Lightroom 5.2 update being available.  You will want to trigger the Lightroom update from within the Photoshop Lightroom application.  Photoshop Lightroom utilizes different technology than the majority of the Creative Cloud application offerings which is why it is necessary to utilize a different workflow to obtain the update.

  • Dynamic Scrolling List with jpg support!

    Anybody if you can help. I'm trying to create a list
    basically with more than one selectable field and the a jpg field
    all aligned together a la list field but I want to be able to add a
    field that uses a jpg as well and I want the fields to be
    selectable. I dont want to select on one item in the row and all of
    the rest in the row get selected.
    Similar to what I'm trying to do is the Tilelist and the list
    component combined.
    I'm getting an array from database query.....with
    info......for music
    player.....artist....song....index.....id....jpg.....etc
    And i want to put them into a List/Tilelist and have each one
    selectable.....lets say call a function/pass a variable to a
    function.....cant figure this out.....racking my nerves.....I dont
    want to hard code em all because array will be dynamic.....i know
    when using the TileList and the List....you can get other
    info....by using like list.index or list.label...list.row....
    ......ahhhhhh.........help.....coding world i'm losing it :D

    I'm still plagued by these warnings in my Flex project:-

    Clicking on the warnings doesn't take me to the code.
    The project started as SDK3.5.  I've made it into an SDK4.0 project.  It uses old Halo components throughout.  I've chosen a Halo theme.
    I can get rid of these warnings if I "Use Flex 3 compatibility mode".  BUT, If I use that mode, I get also Run Time Errors - so I decided against this compatibility, and just edited the styling, deprecated syntax, and a few issues to make the app work.
    I tried the solution someone suggested editing the flex-config.xml file, but it didn't work for me.

    Yes, very irritating. "Only a warning" isn't the whole story, it's more than just an annoyance, it can potentially make all warnings useless.
    Imagine cases where you have multiple warnings (often FB warnings turn up for EACH component resulting in many repeats, design mode is particularly bad with this).  Having a ton of warnings that "aren't really warnings" obscures REAL warnings that we'd want to do something about (and makes errors harder to notice at first--you're so used to always seeing lines under the problems tab that you don't always notice a new error that just popped up).  In the worst case scenario a valid warning that would have prevented a bug is missed and something goes to QA or production that should have been caught at compile time...
    This wouldn't be nearly as annoying if we had some decent way of filtering these warnings from the problems tab. The current filter isn't good enough and only seems to allow you to filter out one message due to the way it works, but sometimes we see more than one type of "bogus" warning.
    Voted and added to comments.  I wonder if there's a feature request out there to improve warning filter capabilities?  I also wonder why nobody complained about this before, it seems pretty easily visible.  Is it the norm for people to just always ignore warnings?  This isn't a good practice, warnings tend to exist for a reason.
    (Btw, this is part of my reasoning for the claim that Halo seems to have become a "second class citizen" component set - hopefully Adobe can do something about this.)

    Just one more quesiton re: this topic, I am looking to get rosetta but do not have Leopard or Snow Leopard...
    I read that it is not on Snow Leopard only on Leopard....so do I need to get only Leopard? Can u advise?
    Alternatively I do have Mac OS X Tiger so is it on this and can I install it from here?

    when I tried to open document library in Windows explorer view by click 'Open with Explorer', it popped up “Your client does not support opening list with windows explorer”
    OS: Windows Server 2008 Enterprise x64
    IE: 9.0 32bit
    webcient service is runing
    HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\services\WebClient\Parameters and changed the BasicAuthLevel to 2 instead of 1.
    Anybody knows how?

  • Cannot purchase apps in app store. Cannot get help with Customer Support

    I receive this message each time I try to purchase an app or book. "Your purchase could not be completed. For assistance, contact iTunes Support at www.apple.com/support/itunes/ww/. I've called Apple Support a total of 6 times and I've been on hold for a total of over 3 hours. They said they fixed it THREE times, and told me to wait 30 minutes then try again. I've talked to 2 different Senior iTunes Advisors who gave me their direct line (which means absolutely NOTHING, because when I call back they won't answer or return messages). Supposedly my issue was going to be fixed by the iTunes "engineers" last night and an email was supposed to be sent me this morning. Of course, neither happened. I'm totally disgusted with iTunes Support and need my issue resolved and have no where to turn. I'm a very patient person, but I'm at the end of my rope. Any suggestions on who to complain to, since I'm getting nowhere?

    IM having the same exact issue!! I've demanded to speak with an engineer personally or someone who knows iTunes inside and out. sr advisor made it seem like it was classified information! She kept saying "they" will fix it and you'll receive email for confirmation. I want to know who they are!! I have a $25 gift card just sitting in my account for nothing. My bank card is good too. Sorry I have no answer, just know there's people who are just as frustrated as you lol. Please reply back if you hear anything thing at all!! I'll do same! Good luck!

    Hi folks -
    I've read through some threads regarding "Your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer" and it seems a lot of folks have a lot of solutions throughout the forum posts.  Is there anything official or semi-official regarding
    this? 
    I've tried a lot of the fixes including:
    checking to see if the WebClient service is on
    modifying so-and-so registry (I've since changed them back since they seem to have no effect)
    and changing various settings in Internet Options including making sure the site is in the Local intranet zone.
    I could live without this functionality but just recently my upload-multiple-files functionality in SharePoint 2010 has also gone away (red x instead of directory UI).  I wonder if it's related somehow and could give us a clue.
    If it helps I'm using various browsers but of the IE flavor 8 and 9 32-bit as the base for testing this.

    For SharePoint 2013 (so could apply to 2010 as well), my problem was that I was trying to "Open with Explorer"
    something that probably can't be opened with Explorer. In my case, I just wanted to open my team's Shared Documents with Explorer. I found that when I first log into SharePoint and view the page, I'm presented with those Shared Documents, but also other things
    as well.
    To get "Open with Explorer" to work, I must click "Shared Documents" under the Libraries heading on
    the left. Then, all the other stuff (Links, Getting Started, etc.) go away and I'm focused on my team's shared documents. From there, I can go up to the Library Tools section in the ribbon, choose the Library tab in the ribbon, and click Open with Explorer.
    Works like a champ on Windows 7 64-bit, running IE 9 32-bit.
    Unfortunately that's not what was going on in my case.  One obvious way to check is to see if other people or other computers can Open with Explorer.  In my case it was just this one machine on my desk that had the issue.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you got “Your client does not support opening this list with Windows Explorer” error.
    Did you enable the both authentication (Windows and FBA) on default zone.
    As far as I remember when FBA is enabled on the same zone when Windows is used, it breaks whole client integration.
    So it will be better if you will recheck your architecture and will use different zones for Windows and FBA.
    There is also another thing to try: use claims based authentication with authentication provider which will work both with Windows and FBA.
    What’s more, you can also check with below steps.
    Use compatibility mode to check whether it works.
    Open IE->Tools->Compatibility View Settings
    Add the site into Trusted sites to check whether it works..
    Open the IE->Internet Options->Security->Sites->add the site into the Websites, then check whether it works.
    In addition, you can also try to enable Basic authentication on the client computer, by setting the BasicAuthLevel registry entry of the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters

  • Trying to open a sharepoint library in Windows Explorer via IE 8 results in the error "your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer"

    I am attempting to connect to a Microsoft Sharepoint library, via the "Actions -> Open in Windows Explorer" option from the Sharepoint page.  When I do so, I get the error message "your client does not support opening this list with windows explorer".  In short, I am trying to get the "drag and drop" functionality of a Sharepoint library.
    I am running Windows 7 64-bit and IE8.  The target Sharepoint environment is a MOSS 2007 EE.  My Windows "WebClient" service is running, and I have no problem connecting to this exact library via a Windows XP computer running IE8.

    Verify that the Webclient is started automatically from the Services.msc
    Verify that your Portal is in the Intranet local security zone (You can reach it from Your Internet Explorer Browser Security Tag) if not add it to the list
    restart the WebClient service if it's work good
    If not you have to create a network share to your portal URL directly not your documents library.
    Open Windows Explorer or My Computer from the Windows Start Menu.
    From the Tools menu, click Map Network Drive…. A new Map Network Drive window opens.
    In the Map Network Drive window, choose an available drive letter from the dropdown list located next to the "Drive:" option. Any drives already mapped will have a shared folder name displayed inside the dropdown list, next to the drive letter.
    Type the name of the folder to map wich is in this case your SharePoint Portal URL (Don't include the documents libraries)
    Click the "Reconnect at login" checkbox if this network drive should be mapped permanently. Otherwise, this drive will un-map when the user logs out of this computer.
    If the remote computer that contains the shared folder requires a different username and password to log in, click the "different user name" hyperlink to enter this information.
    Click Finish.
