App Store always hangs

Hi
My app store always hangs if i try to install new software. I am able to go directly to the updates section and install from there yet if i try to search for apps to insall or follow go directly to a apps page to install it always shows the beachball.
I would like to install an application but am stuck as this is the only way it seems.
Anyone had a similar problem ?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

Why does App Store always crash when I try to open the appliction?

You don't have the typical symptoms that I associate the following issue with (normally the error kicks in just when folks visit the Store), but just in case try gn_id's suggestion from the following post:
Re: iTunes 11 crashes when opening the store - no error message

  • App Store always shows Motion needs updating...

I've had this problem for months now.  The App Store always shows Motion needs updating.  But I have updated Motion (I check to make sure I have the current version).
I've ignored this problem up until now because Motion works fine and I do have the current version.  I figured that sooner or later Apple would issue some fix, or that it would disappear on a future Motion or OS update.  Well, I just updated to Mountain Lion yesterday, and I've updated Motion at least a couple of times, and the problem continues.
And now it's getting stuck in a loop showing I need to update to 5.0.7, even though I've updated.  But now when I look in the update section of the App Store, it shows that it is possible to update (even though I have the current version).  If I click "Update" again, it starts downloading and then starts endlessly installing it, but never finishes.
Any idea what's going on here?  Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I did speak with Apple support last night.  I uninstalled & reinstalled, and now I have the current version and it is working fine.
However, I'm still having the same problem I've been having for months:  The App Store shows that I need to update Motion, even though I already have the current version.  I don't know what is causing that, especially after I uninstalled and reinstalled.

  • Amazon App Suite - App Store Initialization Hang

I thought this may be useful.
Following device de-registration via the Amazon web-site, I found that I could not log back into the App Store app on my Motorola Droid Razr M. After contacting Amazon and spending some time with them with no resolution, I found that if any of the App Suite apps are disabled the App Store app will hang at "Initializing" in the newest version, or "bad password" in the factory version. Simply re-enable the apps via Manage Apps > Disabled and clear the data on each and all works fine.

    OK got it thanks

  • App Store Login Hangs

I would like to upgrade to Mavericks.  When I am prompted by the App Store to sign in, I type my Apple ID and Password, at which point it simple hangs with the little spinning wheel, until I click cancel.  Any suggestions?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

  • Mavericks won't install and iTunes/App Store always quit unexpectedly.

Let me start by saying that I am not very computer-savvy. That being said, I don't mess with my computer very much so I feel like this should be an easy fix.
The problem started a few days ago when my macbook froze and then shut down. When I booted it back up, I noticed that iTunes wouldn't open. The icon would just bounce for a while and then I would get the message that iTunes had quit unexpectedly. I figured that updating my OS to Maverick would possibly solve the problem. I downloaded Mavericks, but when my computer rebooted and Mavericks began installing, it stopped after two minutes and simply said that it could not complete installation and that I should try restarting my computer. So I did. And the same thing happened again and again. Eventually i chose the old startup disk and gave up. But now the app store is doing the same thing as iTunes. I tried a disk repair and I tried to repair disk permissions but neither helped. I have a lot of music in my iTunes library so I'd rather not uninstall/reinstall iTunes.
Any help on either front would be wonderful!!
    Thank you!

update: I reinstalled iTunes and it's working now

  • Mac app store always shows updates for not installed apps

    Hi,
I've got fresh install of 10.7.1 (replaced hdd, installed via Restore OS usb flash drive). Everything works properly, except of Mac App Store.
For some reason it shows me as updates all apps I ever purchased. Installed and updated to latest version, as well as not installed yet.
    Any way to fix this?
    Thanks!

  • App store updates hang

updates do not occur when selecting update all on the app store.  it looked like a few updated then the icon showed about 15 left and they would not update.
i had to delete each app that showed in the update list and then reinstall them until i finally had 0 updates and everything current.
did ios 5 recent release break the ability for an ipod touch to get updates from the app store?
i have an ipod touch, 32g.
i have recently updated to the current ios5 system.
My updates were working before updating to most recent ios5 upgrade.

I did two things to fix this same problem
    A. I held down the home and power button at the top to reset the phone which was a temp fix
    B. I reset all settings which doesn't erase anything but resets the software!

  • App Store 'updating' hangs

    Hi, happy holidays,
my MBP got a problem. When I open App Store I'll have the option to update ('Aktualisieren' in my system language) one of my installed Apps (Airmail). When I click the button it will grey out and then nothing happens. Once I quit the App Store and restart it the button will be available again, but it never actually updates and the entry will remain.
How do I get it to fulfill the update?
    Best regards.

  • Mac App Store always launches on start up

13" MacBookPro, OS X 10.8.2  - Whenever I restart, or log back in, App store launches and spins for a long time "looking for updates".  I have updated all, except I have "hidden a RAW camera update, and iTunes ver 11.
I've check for updates, it says "no updates available".  I've checked for updates that haven't downloaded, I don't have any.  I did just download a SMC firmware update.  Restarted multiple times, but I just cannot get rid of App Store launching and then doing nothing.

Open System Preferences > General, and tick "Close windows when quitting an application". Also, when you want to shut down the computer, untick "Restore windows when logging back in"

  • App Store always shows Account INformation

Since the last update, iTunes dumps me into the Account Information page every time I enter my password. I see this whether I'm upgrading an app or purchasing something new. There is no warning message on the Account Information page, and I have checked all of the information for accuracy. The purchase or update never happens, and I have to start all over again as you can't navigate back.
Is this a bug, or is the iTunes Store just getting more annoying?

I remember seeing this once long ago. Drove me nuts. Got fixed when I opened iTunes when I got home (there had been an update) and I was given the accept terms junk. Once I did, then synced, it all worked again.
