Appending _x003C_none_x003E_ string to data, SSIS project is copied to a different env

Hi,
I'm exporting data from MS SQL Server 2008 into a bar delimited flat file using SSIS package. In the connection properties I set text qualifier as none. in Dev machine data is populating into flat file as per expectation.
When I copied the project to another environment, the text qualifier became _x003C_none_x003E_ is appending to data.
Expected Output from SSIS: D|GOOD|Morning
After Execution of package data looks:
_x003C_none_x003E_D_x003C_none_x003E_|_x003C_none_x003E_GOOD_x003C_none_x003E_|_x003C_none_x003E_MORNING_x003C_none_x003E_
Can some one help on this.
Thanks,
Praveen C
Regards, Praveen

Hi Praveen,
It seems that it did not clear the text qualifier from the property
see http://www.bidn.com/blogs/hardikabhavsar/bidn-blog/3095/_x003c_none_x003e_-flatfile-error-in-ssis and follow exactly to resolve.

  • I need to append a string to another string

    I'm working with some inherited code, I'm a Colf Fusion
    novice myself, and I'm trying to make this order form display the
    correct data. The problem is a lot of data in the database is
    missing. Description in the QStockDB query can contain a lot of
    stuff. For our full color work the text "4/0", "4/BLACK", and "4/4"
    are consistent so I'm changing the newitem (I know, not very
    descriptive but it's not my code) to CMYK Printing.
    <cfif #QStockDB.description# contains "4/0"><cfset
    newitem = "CMYK Printing"></cfif>
    <cfif #QStockDB.description# contains
    "4/4/BLACK"><cfset newitem = "CMYK Printing"></cfif>
    <cfif #QStockDB.description# contains "4/4"><cfset
    newitem = "CMYK Printing"></cfif>
    I want to then go back through description and compare it
    more to add more description. For instance with this:
    <cfif #QStockDB.description# contains "12 pt"><cfset
    newitem = newitem + " - BC"></cfif>
    I know that the job is a business card. So I want to append
    the newitem variable with " - BC". Likewise:
    <cfif #QStockDB.description# contains
    "catalog"><cfset newitem = newitem + " - Catalog
    Sheets"></cfif>
    displays CMYK Printing - Catalog Sheets. Or, it should... or,
    more precisely, I want it to. :)
    How do I append a string to another string?

    + is the addiion operator and works with numbers. Because
    your string is a ...well, string... you need to use an ampersand.
    Thus, instead of:
    <cfif #QStockDB.description# contains
    "catalog"><cfset newitem = newitem + " - Catalog
    Sheets"></cfif>
    Use...
    <cfif #QStockDB.description# contains
    "catalog"><cfset newitem = newitem & " - Catalog
    Sheets"></cfif>
    <cfoutput>#newitem#</cfoutput>
    At least I think that will work - haven't tested it
    though.

  • How to append a string whose content is XML file to the child of other XML?

    Hi guys,
    I have a question:
    I obtain a string which is actually a response from HTTP servlet, and I want to append this string as child of another XML, how can I do it? Is there any method to convert string to XML node, opposite to the method "render_2_string"?
    Thanks in advance

  • Executing a SQL 2012 SSIS project with DTExec using Protection Level "EncryptAllWithPassword"

    I'm trying to execute a very basic SQL 2012 Project that only has 1 single package that contains a simply email task.
    The project will run fine from command line using basic syntax.
    dtexec /project  "F:\SSIS\Projects\project1\bin\Project 1 Configuration\project1.ispac" /package "Main.dtsx"
    Once I add the protection level of EncryptAllWithPassword to the project and the package things suddenly stop working. New command line syntax is.
    dtexec /project  "F:\SSIS\Projects\project1\bin\Project 1 Configuration\project1.ispac" /package "Main.dtsx" /P "Password"
    I get the following output.
    Microsoft (R) SQL Server Execute Package Utility

    I'm confident my passwords are entered correctly in the two spots. Is there something I'm missing in my command line to use protection levels correctly. I have also built the project and deployed to SSISDB.
    Thank you

    Add the PassWord attribute as  :

  • Specifying a Linked Server as parameter/environment in a 2012 SSIS project

    I have a server that will hold the 2012 SSIS projects which I want to run against the AlwaysOn Listener. How do I to specify the linked server in a parameter? If I just use a server parameter that matches the Linked Server name will that work?
    Just to mention in SSIS SSDT when specifying the server and pointing to the Listener all the databases appear in the database dropdown but when specifying a node only the non-AlwaysOn databases appear. Weird?

    Porjects or packages?
    Linked Server? Why?
    Is your intent is connecting to a read-only secondary?
    A name of the server instance that is primary is enough. For read-only replicas you need the connection string amended to include
    applicationintent=readonly
    All the database supposed to appear that are part of the instance you are connecting to.

  • Append a string to a file without overwritting.

    OK, let's do this as easy as can be...
    I have a file "A.txt" and its contents is:
    AAAAAAAAAAIf we retreive the File data, its length is 10.
    Now, I have the next code:
    import java.io.*;
    public class MyClass {
        public static void writeToFile(File f, String writeThis, int where) throws IOException, FileNotFoundException {
            RandomAccessFile raf = new RandomAccessFile(f, "rw");
            raf.seek((long)where);
            raf.writeBytes(writeThis);
            raf.close();
        public static void main(String args[]){
            try {
                writeToFile(new File("A.txt"), "java", 3);
            } catch (Exception anyE) {}
    }This is what I want:
    File A.txt contents
    AAAjavaAAAAAAA
       ^ Appended to the fileNow the file data length is 14, 10 A's + java (4)
    This is what I get:
    AAAjavaAAA
       ^ Overwrote the file contents.Now the file data length is still 10, Java overwrote 4 A's.
    How can I append a string to a file at any desired position without overwriting nothing.
    I've checked all java.io package and I found that only RandomAccessFile class allow me to have a file pointer in order to read from there.
    It's important not to append data at the end of the file, I have some tokens there in my app.

    Hi, i am trying to do the same thing. Can u use a randomaccessfile and seek to the pt where u want to insert. save that location. store the data from that pt to the end of the file in a string buffer. then append the string to be inserted at the position u had saved earlier. and then append the string buffer to it. think this should do it. i dont know if it works.
    i had another problem .. i was looking to delete some portion from a file and maintain the continuity. for eg. i have file containing "aaaaajavaaaaaa" and i want to remove java .. from it resulting in "aaaaaaaaaa". is there a easier way to do it. let me know thanks

    Hi Douglas,
    Based on my search and research, we can register the DTS.dll, then reopen the particular project to fix this issue. For more detail steps, please see:
    Close the project and solution.
    Open the command prompt.
    Navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS\Binn
    Run C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS\Binn>regsvr32 dts.dll
    Reopen the project.

    I have just managed to fix this problem !
    My second Strings.plist file (FR) had an absolute path. The drop down menu for path type (absolute, relative) was greyed out in the info pane of xcode so I could not change it to a relative path.
    The solution is to change it manually in the project.pbxproj file:
    If you open the file to view the source, and search for "plist", find the following line:
    /* fr */ = {isa = PBXFileReference; lastKnownFileType = text.plist.strings; name = fr; path = /Users/[YOUR-USER]/[PATH_TO_PROJECT]/fr.lproj/InfoPlist.strings; sourceTree = "<absolute>"; };
    Notice that the path attribute is the full path to the file, and that the sourceTree attribute is set to .
    Now change the path so that it's relative:
    /Users/[YOUR-USER]/[PATH_TO_PROJECT]/fr.lproj/InfoPlist.strings
    should become
    fr.lproj/InfoPlist.strings
    Also change the sourceTree value from <absolute> to <group>
    The line should now look like this:
    /* fr */ = {isa = PBXFileReference; lastKnownFileType = text.plist.strings; name = fr; path = fr.lproj/InfoPlist.strings; sourceTree = "<group>"; };
    Repeat these steps for all your localizations that are stuck with absolute paths.
    Save the file, commit the changes, and voilà! no more no such file problem

  • Convert String to Date and Format the Date Expression in SSRS

    Hi,
    I have a parameter used to select a month and year  string that looks like:    jun-2013
    I can convert it to a date, but what I want to do is,  when a user selects a particular month-year  (let's say "jun-2013")
    I  populate one text box with the date the user selected , and (the challenge Im having is)  I want to populate a text box next to the first text box with the month-year  2 months ahead.    So if the user selects
    jun-2013   textbox A will show  jun-2013
    and textbox B will show  aug-2013..
    I have tried:
    =Format(Format(CDate(Parameters!month.Value  ),
    "MM-YYYY"  )+ 2  )   -- But this gives an error
    This returns the month in number format   like "8"    for august...
    =Format(Format(CDate(Parameters!month.Value  ),
    "MM"  )+ 2  )
    What is the proper syntax to give me the result    in this format =  "aug-2013"  ???
    Thanks in advance.
    MC
    M Collier

    You can convert a string that represents a date to a date object using the util.scand JavaScript method, and then format a date object to a string representation using the util.printd method. For more information, see:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.1254.html
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.1251.html
    In your case, the code would be something like:
    var sDate = "2013-01-10";
    // Convert string to date
    var oDate = util.scand("yyyy-mm-dd", sDate);
    // Convert date to new string
    var sDate2 = util.printd("mm/dd/yyyy", oDate);
    // Set a field value
    getField("date2").value = sDate2;
    The exact code you'd use depends on where you place the script and where you're getting the original date string, but this should get you started.

    Date date=new Date();You don't need this line.
    Date dateFormatter = new
    er = new
    SimpleDateFormat("yyyy'-'MM'-'dd").parse(str1);;As already told, you don't need the single quotes. And you don't need two semi-colons - that's unnecessary.
    I just wrote a sample code to test that out. Check it and see for yourself.
    import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
    public class Test {
         public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception {
              System.out.println(new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd").parse("2005-04-18"));
              System.out.println(new SimpleDateFormat("'yyyy'-'MM'-'dd'").parse("2005-04-18"));
    }Output:
    Mon Apr 18 00:00:00 EDT 2005
    Exception in thread "main" java.text.ParseException: Unparseable date: "2005-04-18"
            at java.text.DateFormat.parse(DateFormat.java:335)
            at Test.main(Test.java:6)I wonder why it is not feasible to write a quick sample code.

  • Unable to start SSIS Projects : SQL Server 2008R2 Dev edition installed on top on SQL Express 2008 with Advanced Services

    Hello,
    I first installed SQL Serrver Express Edition 2008 with Advanced Services (As a part of some client's software)
    Now I have isntalled SQL Server Developer Edition 2008, by selecting ALL features and client tools.
    Now, with BIDS, I can start SSRS and SSAS Projects, but I can't start SSIS Projects.
    I am getting below error message :
    To design Integration Services packages in Business Intelligence Development Studio, Integration Services has to be installed by one of these editions of SQL Server 2008: Standard, Enterprise, Developer, or Evaluation. To install Integration
    Services, run SQL Server Setup and select Integration Services.
    Please let me know how do I resolve this issue "Without un-installing Express Edition installed earlier on my machine"
    Please help !
    Thanks
    DP

    This is a common pitfall with the SQL Express editions. It cannot co-exist. You
    need to un-install the "Express".
    What works is having a VM with Express Tools if I you (strangely) need them.

  • Problem in  Converting String to Date

    Hi All,
    I am having one String
    String date = "2006-01-17 15:19:57.0"
    I want to parse this String into Date object.
    I will really appriciate if somebody helps me out.
    Thanks.

    You're specifying a 'T' and a timezone in your format, but they're not present in the string you're parsing.
    I'm assuming from the way you're printing out the date, that your thinking is along these lines: "sdfInput will parse the input string, no matter what format it's in, and will produce a Date object. That Date object wil have the format specified in sdfInput."
    This is wrong on a couple of fronts:
    1) DateFormat doesn't magically figure out what format it's supposed to use for the String it's parse()ing. The String has to match the DF's format.
    2) Dates don't have formats. Only Strings do. A Date object is just a long. There's no relationship whatsoever between the Date that you get from parse() and the format that was used to produce it. When you print out a Date as you're doing, its toString method is called, which in turn uses a default format for your Locale.
    If you want to turn a date string in one format into a date string in another format, use two different DateFormat objects with two different formats. Date date = df1.parse(inputString);
    String outputString = df2.format(date);

  • Change Build Output Filename for SSIS Project

    I have a Visual Studio 2010 solution (TxMExtractLoad) with two SSIS projects: TxMExtractLoad.Discovery and TxMExtractLoad.Contract1.  The project name (in project properties) is set to the proper two-part name in each project.  However, when I
    do a "Build", the generated .ispac file loses the second part of the project name: both projects build to "TxMExtractLoad.ispac" (in different directories, fortunately).
    I can see where I can change the output *path* for the build, but not the output *filename*.
    Any help, anyone?
    Thanks in advance...

    Came across this post whilst encountering the same issue and thought i would post the solution i discovered
    The ispac will get its name from the Name defined in the project properties minus whatever is following the final name part
    Therefore, your SSIS package of TxMExtractLoad.Discovery will become TxMExtractLoad.ispac
    If you change the name in project properties to something like TxMExtractLoad.Discovery.myProject
    or TxMExtractLoad.Discovery..ispac then when you build it it will build as TxMExtractLoad.Discovery.ispac
    Hope this helps
