Apple ID: same one for 2 IPhones - how to change in order to have 2 separate ID?
Hello!
My husband and I have a problem with our IPhones: when we bought them 2 years ago, we put the same Apple ID on both, which was not very clever. Til now, we haven't had so much problem but now, with iOS6 and imessage, it horrible. How can I change my Apple ID and that my husband keeps his existing one?

Settings>iCloud...turn everything off here, including Find My Phone. For Contacts, Calendars, Notes, etc. you'll be prompted to keep the data on the phone, or delete it. Select keep. Then, turn off iMessage & FaceTime. Then, delete the iCloud account...Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Now, set everything back up using your new ID, then turn both iMessage & FaceTime back on, after you've setup the iCloud account.

You cannot combine two different Apple ID's into one ID.

I have 2 Apple ID"s, one for buying app's (since the first iPhone) in the store and another one for operating with iCloud things. Now, after installation/activation of my new iPhone 5s, the Touch ID is connected to the iCloud world. Conclusion, if I like to buy a new app. I still have to fill in the password for the other Apple ID. In the past I asked Apple to may join both, but that seems to be impossible.
Anyone a solution?I am logged into the same things on both my iPhone and my MacBook Pro, except for mail. I use a gmail IMAP account and everything there already works on both machines. The iCloud account on my iPhone uses one Apple ID and the one on the Mac uses the second Apple ID.

On your iPhone go to settings, then iCloud, at the bottom of that screen click the big read button to delete account. Save your contacts just in case when it asks, you can delete them later. Now start over and create a new apple id. Use re new id to create your iCloud's account. Do this for every phone. Every phone has its unique apple is for iCloud, but in iTunes use the original apple id so you can continue to share music and apps

The file to download the app for Android is not working from my phone--it says that the file isn't there. However it does see the one for the Iphone (even though it can't use it). I've tried it multiple times and continue to get the same message: "NOT FOUND The requested item could not be found". I also tried through the Market application on the phone but ended-up with the same result.

Even on some supported devices, a bug in the Market software prevents Firefox from showing up. This may be related to the fairly recent Android Market app update. If you go to Settings/Applications/Market and choose "Uninstall" you can uninstall the update, and then search for and install Firefox from the marketplace.

Try deleting iTunes from your computer. Do not delete your iTunes library. Then download and install a fresh copy if iTunes. Reboot your computer after installation of iTunes.
Then reboot your phone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
Reconnect the phone to your computer running iTunes and see if the sync process will go through. -

However, they are currently adding "Push" ability to developers (soon). Originally they did say they were shooting for Sept (but obviously that has passed). Nobody can say "why" it is late or when it will come. Just know it is coming.
Push in case you don't know will let a service (one service) run in the background that apple makes for the phone. that service will ping apple's servers. Apps that want to "run" in the background have to register with that service thus lets say AIM is on your phone, you send a message and close...somebody responds. AIM's servers will send notification to the push service...then the phone will alert you of a notification in the AIM app, you open (thus starts the app again) and it gets the message. -

I have same problem which drives me nuts - phone lights up in middle of the night and displays message every hour or so. Something is obviously not right and it's not dust on the connector.

It's a common way to run multiple OSs, if there's room. I've had two on my internal HD for a couple of years. Plus a small partition for a copy of my Snow Leopard Install disc. Just be sure to leave at least 10% to 15% free on each partition.
Running Lion on a partition of the disk that also contains your backups is not a good idea; if that drive fails, you risk losing both copies of your stuff!
OSX will also run somewhat more slowly, because access to an external is slower. That probably won't be very significant, though.
Also, would the decision be effected by how long I want to maintain the SL section? I am assuming once I sort out what to replace Quicken with, I won't want to keep the SL section. So would it be easy enough to 'clear out the SL data, and open the partition?

All things considered, your best bet may be to "clone" your SL partition to the second one, then (once you're sure everything is cool), erase the original (top) SL partition. You can use the Restore tab of Disk Utility for that (#7 in the same link), or a "cloning" app such as CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper. Then install Lion on the top partition.
When you're done with SL, just delete it's partition and expand the Lion partition down into the vacated space.
