Apple tv wireless password all numeric
I've just purchased an Apple TV and I've run into a problem configuring the wireless connection. My wi-fi password consists of numbers only. I'd heard that Apple TV requires an alpha numeric password. Is there a way to make the system accept a numeric password?

Whilst it is would be a stronger password I haven't heard of an alpha-numeric password being required, where have you heard this.

Cannot Sign onto my wireless becasue the password is all Numeric
My workpace has two wireless networks. The passwords consist entirely of numbers, with no letters. When I try to logon to these networks with my Iphone, I type int he password and the JOIN button remains "greyed out": I cannot select join unless I type in an Alpha digit and obviously this is porblematic since the password does not contain any...

I cannot change the passwords...How many characters is the password?
The problem may not be that the password is all numerics but that it is not long enough. My dad has an all numeric password but it is in excess of 8 characters which is the minimum length required for his security type.
The Join button will only light up when the right amount of characters have been typed based on the WiFi security you chose.
Count how many characters your password is. Then count how many extra characters it is till the join turns blue
Typically if you are using WPA/WPA2 the password is 8 characters Minimum but can be longer
If you are using WEP 128 bit. It has to be a total of 13 characters, no more no less
WEP 40/64 bit is typically 5 to 10 characters. -
My 6 year old was playing on an app we have used for ages then last night i recieved numerous emails stating about $600 of in app purchases had been made! i dont know how this happened as my child does not know my apple i.d. password!
You can try contacting iTunes support and see if they give you a refund or credit for some/all of it : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchaes, Billing & Redemption.
To stop it happening again you can turn off in-app purchases on your iPad via Settings > General > Restrictions > In-App Purchases, and also in Restrictions change Require Password to 'Immediately' - the default is 15 minutes during which it doesn't need to be re-entered. -
Ever since installing the latest update to iOS 7.1.2 I am prompted numerous times daily to enter my Apple ID and password. I am having the same issue on my iPad 2 and my iPhone4. Any suggestions?
First, if you still have access to the hacked account, rename it if you can and change the password for it.
How to change the name you use for your Apple ID
If needed, change the email linked to it as well. Get control of that account back.
As all iTunes purchases are linked to the account that purchased them (music, apps, etc) it is best to rename an account rather than creat a new account. Apple ID's can't be deleted or merged either.

i upgrade my 3gs to os 6.1 but starting then all my manually installed apps does work and every time I open them, it asks me to log in to my apple account but responds that my password is incorrect. iChat (it would help to know which version) can accept Apple IDs as valid AIM Screen Names.
However if you have iChat 5 or earlier you cannot use ones ending in @me.com or @icloud.com issued by iCloud. (they can be used in iChat 6 or Messages as these versions make a double login to AIM and Apple to allow the use of the password).
In addition if you are using an Apple ID for an AIM Screen Name the password still needs to keep to the 16 character limit that AIM has.
AN @mac.com name can be used on any version of iChat (Until the 30th June 2014)
As it does not need a double check with Apple you can use it to log in to the AIM Web pages
Login here with an AIM Name registered at AIM or and @mac.com name and see if you get any suspended account messages.
Sometimes account can be suspended. Usually because something has triggered the "Unusual Activity" item.
About a year ago many @mac.com users that travelled out of their own country found themselves suspended when they got home.
If the Name checks out of if an Apple ID the password in known to be 16 characters or Less then do this:-
In Lion upwards open a Finder Window and use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears in the menu list.
Navigate to Preferences.
(If you have version earlier than Lion the just navigate to ~/Library/Preferences (that's the Library in you Home - Little House icon - folder)
Fnd com.apple.ichat.aim.plist (even if you are using Messages)
Drag the file to the Trash and Restart the app.

I'll ask my question differently. I have multiple devices and I sync them to my itunes account. For one of my devices, I gave it to a family member. I changed my itunes password and did not give it to the family member who has one of my devices. Will they be able to update applicable apps not having the new password?
Also, if that family member opens their own itunes account and purchase apps and sync the phone, will they lose all the apps that was purchased from my itunes account? -
Why is the update on Icloud setting not an integrated process Apple desingners! On my apple iphone 5, after new ipdate. My icloud on my iphone askes to back up. It still have my old id an password and I cant change it anywhere. I dont have that email account for a year now , and dont have the password of it. You have to do the following to get your new Apple/iCloud ID signed onto your device:
1. Go to Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to the old email address (do not verify it - this is temporary):
Apple - My Apple ID
2. Go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and Delete the iCloud account. Use your current Apple ID password when asked. Follow the prompts to delete the account
3. Go back into Manage your Apple ID and change your Apple ID back to your new email address (you may need to verify it again)
4. Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign onto iCloud with your new Apple ID. Turn on the options you want sync'd with iCloud, give it a little time to push the info down to your device.

we have 6 devises sharing the same apple id and password. when we download a game app it will backup on all devices. therefore we can not run individual unconnected versions of the game. suggestions. thanks.
What do yo mean by: " it will backup on all devices"?
If you mean that is one persone purchases an app it appears on all device then on each device go to Settings>Store and turn off automatic downloads. -

Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in using the alternate ID.

My wife had an iPad for a year and synced to our computer with no problem. I recently received an ipad2 and when I tried to sync using separate apple and iTunes passwords, under her computer user name, it appears I over-road her account and synced all her apps with my apps on my iPad. I then set myself up as a new user on our computer and tried to sync. I now get the error that my iPad is synced to another library. How can I start over without erasing all my data on the iPad?
Go back to her login. Unless you deliberately erased apps, they should all be there, both yours and hers! Then, you need to set up each iPad separately. You will notice that they have separate names for that very purpose.
There is no problem with multiple Apple IDs on the same iTunes on the same computer except... Apps are permanently associated with the ID that was originally used to obtain them. If you choose to update an app from inside iTunes and you're logged into the "wrong" ID, you must log out and back in again.
On the bright side, you can configure either or both iPads to sync with apps and music and movies, etc. from either or both IDs. Further, if you choose to update the apps from the iPads themselves, there is no need to log out/in. The device handles that. All you need is the correct password. In my case, I use the same password for both IDs to make things easier. -
I have an Apple ID and password, the latter is alpha numeric. Have not had any problem using it. Downloaded ISO 7 and it is requesting a four digit password. Nothing I enter works. Then it locks for awhile. I try again, no number I have ever used works.
