Apple watch allergy stainless steels

Dear staff,
My skin allergy about stainless steels but I'd like to try to wear Apple Watch Sport, made form aluminum.
Is it suit for me?  Do you test about any skin?
I'm planning to buy for my birthday's present, next month.
If you have any answer, please let me know as soon as posible.
Regrads,
Shasha

DISCALIMER: I am NOT a Doctor or any kind of healthcare professional.
I find no mention of allergy to "Stainless Steel" but DO find lots of reference to allergy to the "NIckel Salts" that develop from low quality stainless steel - Nickel allergy has been pretty much put to bed in this thread > Is the Apple Watch Sport nickel free?
Conclusion of the allergy sufferer(s) was that the "surgical" quality of the Stainless Steel would likely be sufficient combined with smart wearing and cleaning practice.
Participation in that thread was very educational!!

How can I buy apple watch  for the space black stainless steel case and the black sport band for one order?

Unfortunately no. I asked the same question when I went to the local Apple Store for my "try on" and as of now you would have to order the watch with the metal link band and the black sports band separately.

  • Has anyone received their 42mm stainless steel with black band watch?

HHas anyone received their 42mm stainless steel black band watch? Also curious if anyone has received a watch that was payed for in full or partial using a Apple gift certificate.

I hopped on the Apple Store app as soon as I could to order it.  It said the delivery date range was 4/24-5/8.  The confirmation email had a 3:03 EDT timestamp.
Interestingly, the 38mm model that I ordered at the same time arrived on the 24th, so there must have been something about the larger model or strap that delayed it a bit.   I also noticed that the Apple Store app began working a few minutes before the web site, which may have made a difference.

  • Black Stainless Apple Watch Questions

Why is the Black Stainless Steel Watch only available at the highest tier?  Why cant I purchase the black stainless steel watch with the sport band?  Theoretically it should be the same price as the stainless steel that comes with the sport band?  This makes no sense to me.  Thoughts?

The people in the Apple Store won't be able to answer that either. I was there yesterday and asked the same question and the fellow I was talking to went in the back to see I guess the sales charts/info as to whether or not I could get the black Stainless Steel with another band and he said that according to the info they had, the answer was no. My reason was that I have three watches with metal link bands and wanted the sports band and one of the leather bands for the Apple Watch.

  • Why should I have to buy a bulky space black band I do not like (Hate after trying it on) to get the space black stainless steel watch

Apple is going to lose a lot of sales over forcing you to buy combinations you do not want.  I went to the store to try one on. LOVED the space black stainless steel watch but the band that is attached to it is atrocious, bulky, heavy and uncomfortable.  So, if I want this watch I have to waste $499 on a band I hate and buy an accessory band I do like.  Well, I went in with every intention of ordering one.  Now, eh, I'll just wear the comfortable one I have.  Poor, poor choice to force bands on people.  I have six iPhone six's in my family, I got to choose, seven MacBook pro's of varying sizes and age, four iPads of varying size and age, and the new 5K iMac.  Now, the most personal item ever made is well, not very personal if I have to wear a bulky, uncomfortable band.

This is a user-to-user help forum. There is nothing that anyone here can do to help you. You could find the Apple feedback page and tell Apple in which case there's a chance that something might be done

  • Apple watch selection

I have a question to throw out to the discussion table. As I have viewed the selection of Apple watches available to purchase. Most of you, if not all of you have noticed that the stainless steel wrist band is retailing for a cool $449.00. In stating this, I also have noticed that to purchase the charcoal stainless steel version 42mm, will throw someone back $1099.00.  As I have followed Apple products for quite some time, I have noticed that most of the products are upper end quality that (Most) consumers are able to afford. This being said, I find the pricing on the Apple watch to be Ludicrous! I find myself remembering when the apple iPhone was first introduced to the public for a incredibly high price back then. After a short period of time, the apple iPhone was reduced to make it more affordable to consumers. I wonder if with this being such a new product, if Apple was unsure how much to charge for their products? OR, Why not sell say, the Apple Charcoal stainless steel version as a stand-alone, and have the option to purchase the band of your choice? I would imagine that sales would increase exponentially instead of having to purchase a particular style of watch that has a ridiculous price tag of $449.00 for the band? On the other hand, I could care less what Apple wants to charge for the luxury watch. Because it IS a luxury item, it makes sense to charge prices that most of us cannot afford. Luxury items are for those who have money to burn and are not concerned on prices, they see, they want, they purchase.
I would love to see Apple modify the Apple watch version to allow the Stainless steel watch to be purchased by itself, then have consumers choose, what band they would prefer to buy.

The entry level Apple Watch is $349. The stainless steel is $100 more, but it also has a sapphire crystal, which no other smart watch currently has. My everyday watch also has a sapphire crystal, and its amazing. I've had it 5 years, and despite rough handling and exposure to scratching hazards, it still looks like new. It's worth $100 just for the crystal.
These prices are higher than other smart watches. The market will determine if Apple is right in their pricing; is the Apple Watch $250 better than the nearest competitor? So far no smart watches have gotten great reviews; the best that can be said is that the Pebble is pretty good.
BTW, iPhone prices have held steady since the first one came out. For some models the prices have gone up, not down. The only lower prices are those that have a 2 year contract commitment; the price is not actually lower, it is built into the monthly charges for that 2 year contract.

  • Black stainless steel case with black sport band?

I would like to order a Black Stainless Steel Apple Watch with a Black Sport Band but this option is not available for pre-order?  The only band option available for pre order with the black stainless steel Apple watch case (not sport) is the Black Stainless Steel Band which I tried on and don't like.  It's also way too expensive and I'd prefer to begin with the black Sport Band. Anyone know why this option is not being offered as Apple has billed the watch to be able to be compatible with most of the bands?  Am I stuck ordering the silver stainless steel case with the black sport band that is available?  Thanks for the help!

  • Apple Watch Bracelets

Hey, I have a really big doubt about the bracelets on the Apple Watch. If I buy the Apple Watch Sport could I buy a milanese loop bracelets as an add-on and use it, or the Apple Watch Sport is only compatible with the normal bracelet that it comes with?

The Apple Watch site says that all watches of the same size will be compatible with bands for the same size face as there are two bands that only come in certain sizes. But as was suggested, it might be best to ask either at an Apple Store or call them directly. I would guess that it should work - but as I ordered the Stainless Steel watch, I did not think to ask during my try-on visit.

  • Apple watch bands

I see the different Apple watch bands can be purchased seperatly. Can these bands be used with the sport watch or can only the sport bands be used with the sport watch? Also, will the watches be available at other retail stores like the phones? Thanks!

The sport watch comes with 2 different sized bands. So we know that they are replaceable. The dimensions look the same between the two, the regular watch being heavier with the stainless steel. Just wondering if the standard bands will fit the sport watch. I really don't want to buy the more expensive watch to get the band I want.

  • Apple Watch bands interchangeable

Sorry...I saw a note to put Apple Watch questions in the iPhone board, so I am.
I'm planning on buying the Apple Watch Sport.  Are all the bands interchangeable or just the Watch Sport bands?  I'm looking to get one of the leather bands but prefer space gray over stainless steel.

  • Difference between "Black Sport Band with Space Grey Stainless Steel Pin" and "Black Sport Band"

If you look at the Apple Store site at the Sport Strap, there seems to be 2 black version - one is titled "Black Sport Band with Space Grey Stainless Steel Pin" and one just "Black Sport Band".
Since in the picture they use a Space Grey Watch for one and Silver Watch for the other, it's hard to tell the difference between these two straps. Any ideas?

The difference is very subtle yet noticeable. The Black Sport Band with Space Grey Stainless Steel Pin is geared more towards using it with the Stainles Steel Apple Watch since the little pin that's visible from the bottom of your wrist is stainless steel and matches the case, whereas the Black Sports Band w/o Space Grey Stainless Steel Pin matches  more to the metal that's used on the Apple Watch Sport. Hope this helps!

  • Reports of Apple watch locking on tattooed wrists?

    HI all,
im getting reports on UK news outlets telling me that Apple Watch looses certain functionality such as its ability to track heart rate, reliability of its tantric engine, and even locking the user out when worn on tattooed wrists.   i haven't received my 42mm stainless steel blue milanese loop yet, order still processing    so I can't test this out myself as yet, but both my wrists have tattoos on them so I'm a little bit concerned upon hearing some of these reports.   Can anyone else verify or ...please pleas please refute this rumour?
    thanks

Yeach unfortunately both my wrists have tats and from what I can gather the heart rate sensor may not work on the inside of a wrist, not positive tho.
so is this something Apple can fix with a mod/update do we think, or are tattooed folks up the swanny?
Where are you reading that wearing the inside of the wrist fails - I have heard people describe that it works inside the wrist, Apple don't seem to mention that as a problem on the heart rate page. The sensors work as Apple describe on that linked page. Light passes into the skin & is absorbed by the blood. The sensor measures what is returned (which varies when the blood flows). A tattoo can stop the first part of that process.
If you can wait Apple may be able to release a version with better support for inked arms but it seems unlikely to be a priority since it would probably alter how it works for non tattooed people and inks can behave differently (difficult to get right around the world).
You could always show willing & get yourself hardware updated…

  • Apple Watch band is too short for me

I've checked out size of band for Apple Watch and all of these model are too short for me. Even Classic Buckle that is the longest type of band in all family is still not fit. My wrist size is 230mm. Feel so sad...... Hope Apple will made longer band size in the next gen.

Let me try this again. (This is for a stainless 38).
I saw the specs on the band. I tried to use a tape measure to determine if it would fit, and I should have had help as that is hard to do alone. But is seemed alright, and I ordered the watch.
I am a watch junkie. I have never had a problem like this. You come to expect a certain "standard" when you buy a watch, and ALL of my watches have a longer
strap, and I guess (Shame on me) I assumed so would the Apple Watch.
The band fits, so to speak, but the part that is left after you pass it though the buckle, is not long enough, and the band keeper-loop thingey does not have enough band to keep it in place. Therefore you are constantly having to slide the loop back over it to keep it in place.
I could send it back, but you might imagine how I feel about that. I made sure I got mine on the 24th because I stayed up and ordered it right after midnight on the 10th. I really wanted the watch.
