AppleCare on my 20" Display - Transferring

I purchased a PowerMac and 20" Cinema Display about 6 months ago and purchased AppleCare for both products (actually for the PowerMac and the display was included because purchased at the same time).
I recently sold the PowerMac to one individual and want to sell the display to a separate person. If I type my display serial number into the Apple Support site it says it's under AppleCare. Will the display remain under AppleCare and transferrable now that the 2 components are owned separately?
Thanks, David

The AppleCare will continue to remain on both products, even if they are used and owned separately.
It is linked to the serial number of the products, not the registered owner. That way anyone who has posession of the product can get service on it.

  • Does Applecare Protection cover MBPr display that has been replaced previously under original 12mo warranty?

I purchased my MBPr a little under a year ago and am contemplating buying the applecare protection plan to cover me for the next 2 years. The main reason for this is that I needed to have the original display replaced ~5 months ago due to image ghosting issues (LG original, Samsung replacement). My confusion comes when I look at what Apple categorizes under Hardware Coverage...from the Store website (link below), the last bullet point states "Apple display purchased with your Mac."
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/APPLECAREMBP-102583/applecare-protection-plan- for-macbook-pro
Does this mean that since it's a replacement display that it would not be covered under the protection plan? That notion seems shady and ridiculous to me, but I wanted to make sure before I go and spend even more money on this machine.
    Any advice would be appreciated...thanks!

As long as the replacement was done by Apple, or an Apple Authorized Service Center, then your remaining warranty continues and includes the replacement part.  Any work performed under your warranty means your warranty remains fully intact, and it then covers the replacement parts and repairs.

  • Applecare for Displays

Good news and heads up - Apple is now selling Applecare for it's displays independent of purchase with a system. So, if you purchased your Apple Display separately and it is still within the one year warranty, you can purchase Applecare for it. The plan is $99 ($79 for Education Customers). It will extend the display's warranty and phone support to three years.

Call: 1-800823-2775 and ask for Applecare for Displays MA358LL/A
(or) you can order on the web through the Apple Store.
(or) Smalldog Electronics has the package at $79 for everyone. It is presently listed as backordered.

  • How can I have user specific filters for information display on portlet?

    Hello Everyone !!!!!
I am new to the Portlet World
    My query is..
How can I have filters on a portlet screen ?
I want to display certain information on a portlet which must be filtered and ordered.
    Example:
In Internet Banking , I want to display transfers which had happened in the last month. So I ( as a user ) will keep this predefined somewhere may be in portletData.
Whenever that user logs in for the next time, he will be able to view account transfers taken place in the lastest month only.
This must be user specific. As another user can keep the setting in a different way. That is he/she might want to view account transfers for the last week only.
When user clicks on a button a new screen( filter screen ) is loaded where he need to enter the dates of From and To .....
The user saves this.....( may be in portletdata)
So that when he logs in .. next time screen loads with the defined settings in filter....
Any idea ? How can this be achieived ?
    Thanks in advance.... :-)

  • Question about mac mini applecare

i'm getting a new mac mini soon, and hesitating if i need to buy applecare with it. got several questions about the applecare for mac mini:
1.if i upgrade the hard drive of mac mini, which will void the warranty of applecare, will the apple display & wireless keyboard & mouse that i purchase along with mac mini still be under applecare warranty?
2.if i sell the mac mini after one year, will the apple display, keyboard, mouse still under the protection of applecare?
3.i already have a wireless mighty mouse (within one year of purchase) before purchasing mac mini, may i add it to the applecare?
4.if i purchase iSight with mac mini, will be it under the protection of applecare as well?
    appreciate any help!!

    I'll try to help:
    1. Are you a certified Apple Authorized Service Provider? If you are not and you damage anything, the repair will not be covered by the original warranty or the AppleCare Protection Plan. I would be up to the service technician doing a repair in the future to tell you if the entire warranty was voided by your actions or not. Since we're all users and none of us work for Apple, we cannot speak for Apple. I would suspect, however I can't be certain, Apple would still give you service for the peripherals since they were not involved in the original incident.
    2. The warranty for the peripherals will travel with the computer. If you no longer own the computer, you will not be able to get service for those parts. If you sell your Mac mini, you have two options: Transfer the AppleCare Protection Plan to the new owner or get a refund for the amount of time you have not used. I would suggest you sell the peripherals with the Mac mini and the AppleCare Protection Plan. This would be a valuable add-on to your sale. Or you can keep the peripherals to use with your next Mac and they'll be covered by your new AppleCare Protection Plan.
    3. You do not need to "enroll" all your peripherals. As long as you own the computer with the AppleCare Protection Plan, you will get support for the peripherals you're using. For example, Apple gave me support for the AirPort Express that I bought before my Mac mini with a plan. As long as it's a mouse, keyboard or AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme, they're covered no matter when you purchased them. However, for a display to be covered, you must purchase the display at the same time or purchase a separate AppleCare Protection Plan for the display.
    4. The AppleCare Protection Plan FAQ (link is a PDF) does not specify that an iSight is a covered peripheral.

  • MSI Z77A-G45 Thunderbolt display

    Hi ,
I have 2 thunderbolt displays and want to connect them to PC which i dont buy yet. I decided to buy motherboard MSI 7z77a-g45 thunderbolt and processor with integrated video. So i planned to connect 1 monitor to other and from other to MSI motherboard. Will it works ? Or what i should to do?

The MSI link to your board states: Quote
At 10 Gbps, Thunderbolt™ technology delivers great responsiveness with data and display transfers—in each direction, at the same time—using a single cable to connect devices in a daisy chain.
    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z77AG45_Thunderbolt.html
So yes, MSI states that the display transfer is possible.
If you wish to confirm if your specific displays will work, then submit a question here to MSI http://us.msi.com/service/PreSaleForm/

  • What should I do!? - Sketchy Apple Repair Service

What should I do about this? Should I contact Apple Support or Verizon and let them know what has happened? Please help!
I have just been through a horrible repair service request. I sent my iPhone 5S in for service about two weeks ago because there has been dust trapped under the backface camera lense since I got the phone. The dust sometimes causes problems with the photos, and disrupts the autofocus function. I had previously sent my iPhone 4 in through Apple's mail-in repair service two years ago, as the mute-switch did not work out of the box. The service was excellent, the phone was replaced, and I had clear instructions on what to do in order to get my device working again when the new one was received. This time, this was not the case. Not at all.
I got my comfirmation email from AppleCare for the service request, which listed the "reported issue" as "device will not power on", after I had just reported it as "dust under camera lense". A red flag immediately went up for me; this was not the issue I had just submitted! They also listed my product as "iPhone 5" in the first email, then "iPhone 5S" in a second email saying a box was on its way.
So I got the box, followed the instuctions to back up the phone, erase all content and settings, and pack it into th box. I soon noticed the issue on the box was listed as "iPhone will not power off". The funny thing is, I had just got a third email saying the issue was "Dust under camera lense". I was so incredibly confused, but I packed the phone up and sent it anyways.
I got another email when the device was received by the AppleCare screening facility. It said diagnostics would begin. That very same night, I got another email saying "Despite rather extensive testing by our team, we were unable to duplicate the reported issue 'Dust under camera lense'. Please provide us with additional information to duplicate the issue."
I was a little bit dissapointed, because I thought my initial description to "replicate the reported issue" was pretty clear. So I elaborated. I explained what types of light the dust and small fiber under the bakcface camera could be seen in. AppleCare asked me "what software does this affect?" So I explained how it affected the camera apps. They then told me they would do additional testing.
After one more day, I received an email stating "We have determined your issue is not covered under warrenty, and it would be less expensive for you to simply purchase a new device, rather than have us repair your current one." There was no way I was paying $700 for a replacement, when in my previous experience the devices I sent apple were replaced or repaired free of charge. If my warrenty states that my iPhone is "free of defects" until the warrenty expires, why is this not considered a defect? Or is it simply that I got some lazy employee, who didn't care to fully evaluate my product and issue? Read on, my experience gets even better!
So, I opted to just have the device returned to me. I was told in one of the emails I could take it into an Apple Store (which is 4+ hours away from where I live) anyways. So, the device returned to me today. I opened the box to find the battery completely depleted. I proceeded to plug the phone into my computer and charge it. So, the device powers back on. iTunes prompts me "Allow access to this iPhone?" I choose yes, then I am told to "Respond on the iPhone". To my utter dismay yet again, the phone has been passcoded. I could not access the phone at all, and it had not been erased when sent back to me. So, being as intuitive as I am, I type in "1, 2, 3, 4" as the passcode. The phone unlocks. Curious, I opened the photo app. I find picutres taken with both the front and back cameras of various colors and squares printed out onto papers, and a few up-close pictures of a rather scrubby looking asian man's face.
At this point I am completely fed up with my service. I erased the phone, and proceeded with the setup screen. Upon asking if I would like to restore my backup from iCloud, I am prompted to enter the AppleID password for some strange AppleID that is not mine, and is an @hotmail.com address. I could very well disclose the address here but probably shouldnt. So instead, I restored the backup from iTunes I had made, and put my sim card back into the phone. I have all of my content and settings back now, am am right back where I started; but I am left to ponder on what course of action to take regarding this very scary experience.
What should I do? Should I contact Apple Support or Verizon and let them know what has happened? Please, your help is important to me!

First I would have returned the iPhone to Verizon the minute I discovered dust under the camera lens and had them replace it with a new on.
Second, the instant there was a problem with sending it in I would have used a telephone and called AppleCare and discussed the issue with them.
Do the pictures that are on the phone show any of the issues you claim are present?
Incidentally, you can do an out-of-warranty replacement of the iPhone for $269 USD, not $700.
But finally, I would call AppleCare and ask to be transferred to Customer Service. Give them your service number and go over each of your complaints with them.

  • Material stock for a determined period

    Good afternoon my friends,
I need some information about stock of materials in a determined period. Here in the project, they need to know the information about the material stocks of May, and I've found some tables that have information (like the ones which starts with 'S' -> S084, for example), but I need information like the MMBE display (Transferred material, Blocked, Free).
Anyone knows about a table or a transaction that I can use to get this information?
    So great!
    Regards,
    Diogo.

Thanks Satyajit. This was helpful, but to know about blocked, transferred, I need to separate this per movements? I can't see this informations like MMBE?
    Thanks again!
    Diogo.

  • Old iCloud Account

Hello, Everyone.  I have an iPhone 5S with a iOS 7.1.2 version.  I am giving it back to my company to get a new iPhone with a different cell carrier, so I want to restore it to its factory settings.  To do that, I must turn off the Find My Phone app, which requires an iCloud username and password to accomplish.  Unfortunately, it asks for my old iCloud username (old e-mail), which is so old I don't remember my password anymore.  How can I delete an old iCloud account if I can't remember my old password?  I have a new iCloud account, but my iPhone won't let me use it.  It insists on going back to my old account, so a password reminder to my e-mail is no good.  I also tried the security questions, and after I put in my birthday, it says it is wrong.  I know when my birthday is.  After hours of frustration, I am out of ideas and energy.  Help someone.

Call AppleCare and ask to be transferred to the Account Security Team.

  • I can't remember my two security questions on my account. I made too many attempts and got kicked out for 8 hours. I do have a back up email addy that's verified on my account as well. Any resolutions?

Looking for some help please!  I just got an iPad 4 and tried to purchase some apps on it and was prompted to answer my Two Security Questions that are on my apple account, and I can't remember them. I do have another verified email account attached to my account besides my @me.com one.
I created an apple account a couple years ago when I purchased my iPhone and now I can't remember what my answers were. If anyone has any suggestions or resolutions, it would be greatly appreciated as I cannot purchase anything on my new iPad and cannot make another attempt for 8 hours to my failed attempts :( Thank you

Tomorrow call AppleCare and ask to be transferred to the account security team.

  • Can I use ApplceCare bought by my US student friend on a MacBook Air in India?

I had bought my MacBook Air 13 inch base model in India 11 months ago and have been using it here and will continue to do so.
My (MS) student friend in the USA offered to buy me one from his university store or maybe an Apple store which will be discounted.
I think by the time I myself join it will be more than 12 months so only discount option is via him. In India they do not procide studen discount to AppleCare if it was not bought at the time MacBook was bought. I just asked this to an official reseller(Apple doesn't have its own stores here).
I am not sure whether I can use it or not, on my MacBook Air I mean.
    So, can I do it?
If no, then can you please tell me why not?
And if yes, then how should I/he should procced for the purchase so that there's no problem.
Because from what I understand if I use my AppleID to buy this from Apple Online Store, which I actually tried till checkout and address from and logged out after that, then I will/might also have to produce some kind of ID proof that I am a student and I am not one.
If my friends does that from his AppleID then that might be tied to his AppleID, or it's not like that?
What if he just walks into an Apple Store with his student ID or simply arranges a pickup at one store having bought already online?
    How to go about it.

Looks like I can as long as the AppleCare is used the guy transfers the AppleCare to my name after buying.
